Doja Cat Launches New Single ‘Paint The Town Red’: Stream It Now

After kickstarting her new era with “Attention,” Doja Cat has unleashed her latest single: “Paint The Town Red.” The new single from the “Need to Know” rapper is available on all streaming and digital download platforms.

“B—h, I said what I said / I’d rather be famous instead / I let all that get to my head / I don’t care I paint the town red,” the Grammy-winner raps over a subtly brassy, finger snap-laden beat. The bouncy production provides an interesting contrast to the comparatively laid-back “Attention,” which peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 last month.

While the title of Doja’s upcoming fourth studio album is still a mystery, she has given fans a slew of clues about the aesthetic of her new record, from the blood-stained designs of her teaser videos to the horror vibes of the official music video for “Attention.” The new record will serve as the official full-length follow-up to Planet Her, Doja’s smash third studio album, which spawned a bevy of hits including “Kiss Me More” (with SZA), “Get Into It (Yuh),” and “You Right” (with The Weeknd).

In the time since her last studio album, the “Say So” rapper has remained musically active. Last year, she scored a top ten hit with “Vegas,” the lead single from the Elvis soundtrack, and she guested on a remix of SZA’s “Kill Bill,” which helped lift the song to its No. 1 peak on the Hot 100.

Doja Cat has earned 22 entries on the Hot 100, including “Need to Know” (No. 8), “Woman” (No. 7), and the No. 1-peaking “Say So” (with Nicki Minaj). On the Billboard 200, the cross-genre star has notched three entries: 2018’s Amala (No. 138), 2019’s Hot Pink (No. 9), and 2021’s Planet Her (No. 2).

Eva Mendes Dances to Dua Lipa’s ‘Dance the Night’ in New Video: Watch

Eva Mendes is a Barbie girl — or at the very least, a Barbie supporter. On Wednesday (Aug. 2), the actress took to Instagram and shared a video of her dancing to the lead single from Barbie: The Album.

The video shows the star, dressed in a floor length, green floral gown, swaying her dress to the beat of Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night” as she walks down the stairs. Mendes, however, revealed that she felt somewhat like a Weird Barbie in the video’s captions: “Why must I make that stupid pout when I start to dance ?! Anyone suffer from this seriously lame condition?”

“Dance the Night,” released as the first single from Barbie: The Album, was the soundtrack to Barbie’s choreographed dance party in the movie. The Lipa track currently sits at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, following the arrival of the Barbie soundtrack hitting the Aug. 5-dated Billboard 200. After a tight race to see which album would hit No. 1, Barbie ultimately landed at the No. 2 spot on the chart after NewJeans’ second EP, Get Up.

Mendes has something else that she can “dance” about. Her husband, Ryan Gosling, can officially call himself a Billboard charting artist after netting his first every entry on the Hot 100 chart with the movie’s power ballad “I’m Just Ken.” The song debuted at No. 87 on the Hot 100, in addition to No. 4 on Hot Rock Songs, No. 5 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and No. 39 on Digital Song Sales.

Matchbox Twenty’s ‘Push’ Returns to Charts Thanks to ‘Barbie’ Synch

Matchbox Twenty’s classic hit “Push” revisits multiple Billboard charts dated Aug. 5, sparked by its synch – via its original version and Ryan Gosling‘s cover – in the new movie Barbie.

Released in 1996, “Push” reaches the multi-metric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally at No. 17. (Older songs are eligible to rank on the chart if in the top half and with a meaningful reason for their returns.)

The tune from the Rob Thomas-fronted band also hits Hot Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs at Nos. 11 and 13, respectively.

In the July 21-27 tracking week, “Push” earned 3 million official U.S. streams, up 31%, according to Luminate. It also sold 1,000 downloads, a 201% burst.

Additionally, Gosling’s cover of the song heard in the movie earned 932,000 streams and sold 1,000 downloads in its first week of availability. Gosling plays Ken in the film; an original song for Barbie, “I’m Just Ken,” also makes multiple charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, at No. 87.

“Push” became Matchbox Twenty’s first No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart, leading the Alternative Airplay list for a week in July 1997. It also reached Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 6 on Adult Alternative Airplay, Pop Airplay, Mainstream Rock Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay, respectively.

“Push” parent album Yourself or Someone Like You peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in September 1997; Matchbox Twenty’s breakthrough LP has earned 9.6 million equivalent album units to date. (Gosling’s cover is on the Best Weekend Ever edition of Barbie: The Album, the new film’s soundtrack that starts at No. 1 on the Soundtracks chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200.)

Tony Bennett’s Wife Susan Benedetto Reveals Last Words Before He Died

Speaking with Hoda Kotb on TODAY, Benedetto revealed that Bennett’s touching last words were “that he loved me,” she said.

“He would wake up every day and still say that. He woke up happy every day. Even if he had had a bad day or night, he didn’t remember it,” Benedetto continued. “That was the only blessing. He woke up happy. And he’s just like, ‘Susan. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.’ And he would say that to me all the time.”

Benedetto and Bennett tied the knot in 2007, more than 20 years after their first meeting at one of his concerts in 1985. She also revealed that he sang one of his classic tracks before passing away.

“He sang ‘Because of You.’ We were getting him up to exercise, and so it was easy to just latch onto the piano,” she said. “And I said, ‘Ton, why don’t you get up and you can sing?’ You know, any excuse to just get him up. I said, ‘Why don’t you sing?’ He’s like, ‘What do you want to hear?’ I said, ‘How about singing “Because of You”?’ So he sang ‘Because of You.’” (“Because of You” appeared on Bennett’s 1952 debut album.)

The “I Wanna Be Around” singer passed away on July 21 at 96 following a years-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Lizzo’s Former Dancers React to Her ‘Disheartening’ Statement Denying Their Harassment Claims

Within hours of Lizzo breaking her silence on the lawsuit filed by three of her ex-dancers — who allege that the star sexually harassed her employees and facilitated a hostile work environment — plaintiffs Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis and Noelle Rodriguez have already responded.

Sitting down for a live interview with CNN This Morning, the three women agreed that they were disappointed by the statement Lizzo had posted hours earlier, two days after the suit was first filed. In her written statement, the Grammy winner insisted that their claims were “false allegations” and “sensationalized stories,” adding, “I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days.”

“I want to say that reading it just kind of furthered … my disappointment in regards to the situation, just because the facts are the facts,” Williams told host Phil Mattingly. “What we experienced and what we witnessed is absolutely what happened. There’s nothing sensationalized about it. So, all that I can hope is that people focus more so on the facts rather than the court of public opinion.”

“Looking at the response from Lizzo was so disheartening because she was there,” Davis agreed. “She was there. And to fix your hand to write on a piece of paper that you don’t believe, that you discredit everything we’re saying is incredibly frustrating.”

Davis went on to double down on some of the claims she made in the lawsuit, including one instance where she felt Lizzo body-shamed her, and another in which she was allegedly pressured to engage with nude performers at a sex show in Amsterdam. Davis also claimed in the lawsuit that Lizzo had the dancers re-audition for their spots as backup dancers on tour, an allegedly “excruciating” process that led to Davis wetting herself on stage out of fear of what might happen if she left to use the bathroom.

Lizzo’s statement did not address the accusations in the lawsuit individually, but she noted that the allegations were “coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.” The star — who is known for being outspoken about body positivity — added in her statement: “With passion comes hard work and high standards. Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team.”

The plaintiffs’ attorney Ron Zambrano — who was also on CNN This Morning — added that he “one hundred percent” expects more people to come forward soon with more stories of harassment or toxic work conditions, which he believes will back up Davis, Rodriguez and Williams’ claims. “People have already come on social media to support our clients,” the lawyer said. “People have already reached out to my office through social media. I believe more people will come forward.”

NewJeans’ Hanni Reacts to ‘Get Up’ Reaching No. 1 on Billboard 200: ‘ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!’

After a tight race to No. 1, NewJeans‘ second EP, Get Up, edged out Barbie: The Album for the top spot on the Billboard 200, dated Aug. 5. Following the news of the release going No. 1, the group’s Hanni took to NewJeans’ fan app, Phoning, on Thursday (Aug. 3) to share her excitement about the quintet’s latest achievement.

“Billboard 200 # 1 ??!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I don’t know how this could happen…Honestly I can’t believe the fact that Get Up is there,” she wrote. “Didn’t hit me yet but I am very happy and relieved that it’s there!! NewJeans’ victory lap will take place at Lollapalooza Chicago on Thursday. Hanni, 18, expressed happiness at being on a U.S. stage for the first time following the album’s charting success. “Now today I’ll see a lot of people through the stage and connect through the music with everyone and I’m really gonna enjoy myself!!! To the fullest!!!!!” she shared on Phoning. “LOLLAPALOOZA JUST YOU WAIT!!!!! NewJeans is coming~!”
