Jack Harlow Joins Triple-Double Club at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart

Jack Harlow attains a new milestone on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as “Lovin on Me” adds a 10th week at No. 1 on the list. With the latest week in charge, on the chart dated Jan. 27, Harlow becomes only the third artist to have three No. 1 hits that have each ruled for double-digit weeks.

Before “Lovin on Me,” the rapper’s first No. 1 on the list, the Lil Nas X-collaboration “Industry Baby” dominated for 19 weeks in 2021 – the third-longest run in the chart’s history – while 2022’s “First Class” ruled for 10 frames.

Thanks to the triple-double, Harlow joins Drake and Rihanna as the only acts to own at least three songs that posted at least 10 weeks at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Drake claims six double-digit champs, with four from lead roles — “One Dance,” featuring Wizkid and Kyla (18 weeks), “Hotline Bling” (15), “God’s Plan” and “In My Feelings” (each 11) — and twice in supporting spots — DJ Khaled’s “I’m on One,” featuring Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne and Rihanna’s “Work” (11). Rihanna’s three double-digit leaders break down into two lead roles: “Diamonds” (14) and “Work” (11), and an assist on Eminem’s “The Monster” (13).

Diving further into the current champ, “Lovin on Me” wins another term atop Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with radio gains and steady strong streaming and sales results. In the tracking week of Jan. 12-18, according to Luminate, “Lovin on Me” collected 26.7 million official U.S. streams; despite the 5% slip compared with last week’s 27.9 million, it remains at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart for an eighth overall week. The track rebounds 2-1 for a ninth frame leading the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales list, overcoming a 10% slide to 7,000 downloads sold in the tracking window.

In the radio world, “Lovin on Me” reinforces its position as a multi-format hit as the song registered 67.5 million in total audience in the tracking period, up 15% from the prior week. The single nabs a fourth week at No. 1 on Rhythmic Airplay after a 3% gain in plays for the week, rockets 7-1 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay following a 20% surge in weekly plays, and steps 4-3 on Pop Airplay thanks to a 15% improvement there. The strength at multiple sectors pushes “Lovin on Me” 2-1 to crown the all-genre Radio Songs list for the first time.

Elton John Announces ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ Book Chronicling Life on the Road, Final Tour

Elton John isn’t quite ready to take his final bow. The singer who retired from touring last year when he wrapped his epic Farewell Yellow Brick Road outing on July 8 announced on Wednesday (Jan. 24) that he will chronicle his half-century on the road in a book entitled Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories of My Life on Tour.

“I am incredibly excited to announce my new book, Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories of My Life On Tour, which goes behind the scenes on my final tour, from Allentown, PA, to Stockholm, Sweden and everywhere in between,” John wrote in an Instagram post revealing the technicolor cover, which finds him standing next to a psychedelic piano in a trippy forest.

“It’s been a beautiful journey creating this book and remembering the people and places that shaped an incredible chapter in my life,” he added. “As well as the stories and memories, not just from this tour but from throughout my career, I’ve included unreleased photography and memorabilia that I hope give you never-before-seen insights of my life on the road.” The 256-page book also includes behind-the-scenes pictures of the show’s stage design, John’s bespoke Gucci-designed wardrobe, snaps of celebrity guests and official tour photography.

A description promises that, “Readers will go on an epic visual journey through the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour while Elton reaches back in time to reflect on key moments in his astounding touring history and reminisces about the beginning of his career. Fans also get a rare glimpse at Elton’s personal archive of posters, sketches, and never-before-seen photographs and postcards.” The poignant forward was written by John’s husband and manager, David Furnish, CEO of the singer’s Rocket Entertainment and the creative director of the tour.

The book from Disney publishing imprint Hyperion Avenue is out on Sept. 24, with Rocket Club fan club members and anyone ordering the book through John’s official store slated to receive it two week early; click here to pre-order.

John’s farewell tour wrapped five years after launching — and being delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, illness and injury — with grosses of $939.1 million and 6 million tickets sold over 330 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. The 76-year-old singer has said that he does not want to tour again, but noted he might play sporadic shows in the future.

The final North American show at L.A.’s Dodger Stadium was live streamed on Disney+ and featured guests Dua Lipa, Brandie Carlile and Kiki Dee and released as a concert film, Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium. The movie recently earned John an Emmy for outstanding variety special (live), which earned the singer the coveted EGOT.

“You wanna talk about weight loss? I was in the gym, I was working the f–k out, man,” 50 said in an Instagram video posted on Wednesday (Jan. 24). “And they say it’s Ozempic? I was running, I was running, I was doing what I had to do. You seen me on tour.” The rapper said all that hard work has taken him from 253 pounds to his current svelte 210.

The “Wanksta” rapper wrapped up the 2023 dates of his Final Lap tour in November and began 2024 by declaring that he was planning on “practicing abstinence” this year. And guess what? He says it’s working, because his fornication freeze has helped him get the right kind of pump. “I’m focused man, practicing abstinence is helping me train harder,” he wrote in an earlier Instagram post. “I feel great I think more people should try it.”

When announcing his pledge earlier this year, 50 explained that, “My new idea is so big, I don’t have time to be distracted I’m practicing abstinence, I have been meditating and focusing on my goals.” 50 has two more Final Lap shows slated for this year, a March 1 gig at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a March 3 show at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Describes ‘Complete and Utter Breakdown’ Preceding North American Tour Cancellation

Slipknot singer Corey Taylor posted an Instagram video on Wednesday (Jan. 24) in response to fan concern over his well-being following the cancellation of the hard rocker’s previously scheduled North American solo tour. The clip also addressed fan reaction to his subsequent announcement of a four-show run in Asia in late March and early April that includes three dates in Japan (March 25, 26, 28) and an April 1 gig in the Philippines; Taylor is also booked for a European summer tour scheduled to run from June 3 to July 2.

“I decided to make this video in response to a lot of the feedback that came out after I announced that I would be carrying on with my Southeast Asia run. Originally, that was supposed to be mentioned in the statement that I released relating to my mental health lapse,” Taylor explained, telling fans he understood why they were so upset.

“I, over the last year, have had a complete and utter breakdown of boundaries, mental health, ego, entitlement, the whole nine yards, culminating in a very, very real, very near relapse that… I kind of don’t recognize myself,” he said. “So, again, I wanted to address this and just tell people that I needed time to reset, I needed time to start working on my heart and my mind and get straight. The reason I’m keeping the Southeast Asia run, it’s literally four shows, it’s literally a week. I’m gonna see how I do with that and just take it day by day, basically. I’m working on self-care right now, getting the help that I need and surrounding myself with my family.”

Taylor thanked fans again for their concern and said he’s doing what’s best for him now. “It’s a long road and I don’t know what’s at the end of it, but I look forward to it. I have gratitude for it, and I hope you can show me some patience,” he said.

On Jan. 5, Taylor announced that he was pulling out of his North American tour citing struggles with mental and physical health. “For the past several months my mental and physical health have been breaking down, and I reached a place that was unhealthy for my family and I,” he wrote in a statement. “I know this decision will come as a shock to some and may be regarded as unpopular by others – but after taking a hard look at where I am and where I was going, I need to pull myself back and be home with my family for the time being. Those of you who bought tickets and VIP packages for this upcoming run will get a full refund.”

The tour had been scheduled to kick off on Feb. 3 in Toronto and wrap up on March 3 in Omaha, following Taylor’s European and North American swings in 2023 in support of his second solo album, CMF2.

In Her ‘Jeopardy!’ Era: Taylor Swift Takes Over Every Category & Swifties Approve

On Wednesday night’s (Jan. 24) of Jeopardy!, Taylor Swift did what she does best: She took over. Song titles and references to the pop superstar inspired every category in the first round of the latest “Champions Wildcard” episode.

The categories included “Love Story,” “Our Song,” “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and, finally, “The Errors Tour.” The first five categories are all titles of Swift’s hit songs — including three of her Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers, “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” — while the final one is in reference to her blockbuster The Eras Tour, which picks back up next month in Japan.

The Taylor inspiration ended with the category titles, though: The questions were not, in fact, Swift-related. But that didn’t hamper Swifties’ enjoyment of the game show’s shout-out.

“Every single Jeopardy category (name) is Taylor swift related, they did this for me,” one X user wrote, while another parodied the negative reactions to Swift infiltrating the NFL thanks to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce: “‘oh ew gross even jeopardy is being ruined by Taylor Swift’ – some idiot.”

This isn’t the first time Swift has been featured on Jeopardy! On a Celebrity Jeopardy! episode last year, there was an entire category of Swift-related questions called “Also a Taylor Swift Song.” And in the summer of 2022, there was a seemingly simple question about Swift’s Lover single “You Need to Calm Down” that Swifties were stunned went unanswered. “HOW COULD NO ONE KNOW THE ANSWER!?!” one viewer wondered.

Walker Hayes Had a Clever Musical Response to Zach Bryan’s ‘Fancy Like’ Jab

Walker Hayes has officially responded to Zach Bryan calling him out on X (formerly known as Twitter), and he made it fittingly “Fancy.”

So fancy, that he wrote a song about the situation. “Woke up this morning, read something mean / Something in the orange says you’re feeling green,” he sings on the track posted to Instagram on Wednesday (Jan. 24), in reference to Bryan’s “Something In the Orange” hit. “Felt like throwing punches / I just held ‘em back / Because Jesus didn’t die for me so I could fight with Zach.”

In the post’s caption, Hayes noted that while his friends commended him for taking the kind road in his response, he had “a hundred smart a— responses in the chamber that I didn’t fire off.”

He continued, “Took me 18 years to feed my kids with music and I’ll still knock something I hear on the radio cuz I didn’t write it. So, we tried our best to put it all in a Twanger. And this is what we got. I hope it makes y’all talk about stuff that matters.”

Hayes’ post comes in response to a tweet earlier this month that Bryan posted comparing Hayes to Tyler Childers, who just notched his first top 50 country radio hit with “In Your Love,” despite being in the music business for a decade and becoming one of country’s most beloved artists.

“Imagine being radio (whoever the hell that is), hearing [Childers’] ‘Shake the Frost’ and being like, ‘no no let’s go with the Applebees song,’” Bryan wrote, referencing a line in Hayes’ TikTok-dance-fueled hit “Fancy Like,” which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021 and stayed atop the Hot Country Songs chart for 24 weeks.

Eden Muñoz’s ‘Como en Los Viejos Tiempos’ Hits No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay Chart

Eden Muñoz acquires his fourth No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Como En Los Viejos Tiempos” rallies 8-1 to lead the Jan. 27-dated ranking. The nostalgic ballad checks into the penthouse after a bulky 64% boost in audience impressions, to 7.4 million, earned in the U.S. during the Jan. 12-18 tracking week, according to Luminate.

“Como En Los Viejos Tiempos” ejects La Fiera de Ojinaga’s “La Neta Que No” from the lead after its one week in command. The song drops to No. 10 with a 42% drop (to 4.22 million impressions).

“Tiempos” is the title track and first single of the Muñoz’s 18-track eponymous album, which debuted and reached No. 19 on Regional Mexican Albums last December.

The song, released Nov. 20 via Muñoz’s own EMC/Bajo label and Sony Music Latin, takes the indie imprint to its first No. 1 on any Billboard chart.

Further, as the norteño and banda singer-songwriter and producer sends “Viejos Tiempos” to his roster of No. 1s, here’s a look at Muñoz’s four No. 1s on Regional Mexican Airplay :

Peak, Title, Artist, Weeks at No. 1
May 21, 2022, “Chale!,” three
July 2, 2022, “Hay Que Hacer Dinero,” Banda MS featuring Muñoz, two
Nov. 11, 2023, “Amor Clandestino,” with Maná, one
Jan. 27, 2024, “Como En Los Viejos Tiempos,” one

Beyond its Regional Mexican Airplay win, “Viejos Tiempos” takes Muñoz to the upper region on the overall Latin Airplay tally, with a 20-4 surge.

Ice Spice Teases Ex Reveal in Starry Super Bowl Commercial Sneak Peek: Watch

Ice Spice’s brother might be the superstar football player but she’s set to be involved in Super Bowl Sunday in another capacity.

Starry has tapped the “Munch” rapper to star in the soft drink’s Super Bowl commercial and they released a teaser of the expensive ad on Wednesday (Jan. 24).

With her “Deli” instrumental thumping in the background, viewers are in a POV conversation with Ice Spice who hints at her ex-boyfriend walking into the room before the 15-second commercial cuts off.

“Baby, you look so pretty when you ‘grahhh,’” the narrator tells Ice.

She replies while sipping on a Starry: “Stop, you play too much!” The Bronx bombshell eventually caves and gives the fans a signature ‘grahhh.’

A startled Ice Spice then pushes the camera away: “I said don’t look, it’s my ex!”

Ice Spice has kept her love life under wraps but confirmed she was dating someone in an interview with the Los Angeles Times in October.

Outside of her relationship, the 24-year-old continued to elevate her superstar status throughout 2023 and Ice Spice parlayed her success into four Grammy nominations and another four Hot 100 top 10 hits in the calendar year.

She’s carrying her winning streak into the new year where Ice Spice will be honored with the Hitmaker Award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards in March.

Tracee Ellis Ross will play host at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards, which will be held Wednesday, March 6, at YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, Calif. and will stream on March 7.

No matter who’s lifting the Lombardi Trophy in Las Vegas come Feb. 11, the Spice Cabinet will be winners either way.

Look for the full Ice Spice ad on CBS on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 11) and watch the Starry commercial snippet below.
