Tory Lanez is ditching the legal team representing him during his criminal trial, where he was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Now, he is hoping Suge Knight’s former lawyer can deliver a miracle as talk about appeals begins.

Meghann Cuniff, affectionately dubbed Meghann Thee Reporter following her excellent coverage of the Tory Lanez trial, shared that Lanez expects to be in court on Tuesday, Jan.10, and his attorney will now be David Kenner. If his name sounds familiar, he also represented Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight.

“Kenner is a longtime criminal defense attorney whose clients include former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight,” Cuniff wrote in a tweet. “Anyone with actual experience in criminal law (not all lawyers) will tell you he’s joining the case a bit late: Before trial would have been better.”

When the news was revealed, some quickly believed that Kenner was representing Knight when he was sentenced to 28 years in prison. Cuniff promptly pointed out that he was the former Death Row Record CEO’s lawyer during a robbery case in the 90s where he got probation.

Tory Lanez & His Former Attorney Parted On Good Terms
Per Rolling Stone senior reporter Nancy Dillon, Lanez’s former attorney said he parted ways with the rapper on good terms, noting he doesn’t handle appeals.
“I don’t do appeals,” Mgdesyan said. “So we had to get somebody on board to handle the appeal.” He also noted he plans to attend Lanez’s sentencing set for Jan.27.
“As a party who represented Tory and is friends with Tory, I have an interest,” he notes.

Last month Lanez was found guilty on all three charges, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a concealed and loaded firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.
He was adamant that he did not shoot Megan Thee Stallion despite the evidence working against him, and now he is looking at over 22 years in prison.
We shall see if his move to hire David Kenner will pay off.

Megan Thee Stallion was a victim of violence at the hands of Tory Lanez after the jury listened to testimony from witnesses and went over a plethora of evidence linking him to the crime. Now photos of her injuries have hit the net.

Yes, even after a jury of his peers found him guilty, there were “fans” and some Hip-Hop stars still disputing if Tory Lanez indeed shot Megan Thee Stallion.

Now, photos of the 23-year-old’s Hip-Hop star’s injured feet have surfaced online via Nique at Nite, proving she was indeed shot, showing metal bullet fragments are still in her heel and exactly where the bullets hit her.
The x-ray photos were accompanied by other photographs of the crime scene showing luggage covered in blood, towels, and the gun used in the shooting.

Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend, Kelsey Harris, can also be seen in photos with black and blue bruises along her thigh and missing pieces of her hair following her drunk altercation with Lanez.

Instagram blog The Neighborhood Talk got its hands on police body cam footage of Megan Thee Stallion in the back of an ambulance footage while being taken to a nearby hospital.
The “Big Ole Freak” crafter can be heard crying hysterically, understandably, while looking around the room while wearing a mask.

That’s Not The Only Evidence That Came Out
Nique at Nite shared audio from a phone call between Kelsey Harris and Tory Lanez on Thursday, Dec 29.
Lanez, who was very adamant he was innocent, sounded very concerned about Megan Thee Stallion’s well-being while not explicitly saying what he did, but sounding like he knew he messed up pretty bad.
“I know [Megan] prolly never, ever gonna talk to me ever again, but, I just want you to know, bruh, I was just so f**kin’ drunk that I ain’t even know what the f**k was going on.” He continues, “I ain’t never do some sh*t like that. I didn’t even understand what the f**k was going on. Regardless, though, that’s not gonna make anything right, and it’s not gonna make my actions right. I’m just deeply sorry.”
Welp.
Tory’s daddy, Sonstar, and everyone else can stop blaming Roc Nation or JAY-Z now. *Kanan Stark’s voice,” he did that sh*t, guilty as f*ck.

Megan Thee Stallion is not done with court battles. Fresh off of a significant victory in the Tory Lanez trial and getting justice after being shot, she scored another win after a Houston judge sided with her instead of her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.

Spotted on Billboard, Megan Thee Stallion is heading back to court. Her ongoing legal battle with 1501 Certified Entertainment is heading to a jury trial.

Back in September, the label asked judge Robert Schaffer to decide a dispute in which Megan Thee Stallion claimed 1501 would not acknowledge her 2021 project Something for Thee Hotties as an album, meaning she had not fulfilled her contract back in September.
Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyers argued that the case should be decided by a jury rather than just a judge, and Schaffer agreed her $1 million lawsuit would proceed to trial.
After rendering his decision, Schaffer said that he was “of the opinion that the motion should be and hereby is denied in its entirety.”
Both Megan Thee Stallion’s & 1501 Certified Entertainment’s Legal Teams Had Something To Say
1501 Certified Entertainment’s legal team pointed out that the judge’s ruling did not resolve the dispute. “There is no amount of discovery that will change the answer to that question,” 1501’s lawyers wrote in their original motion filed in September.
“The court can compare the recording to the contractual requirements for an album and determine that ‘Something for Thee Hotties’ is not an album as a matter of law.”
“Pete should be allowed her day in court to present evidence and testimony to the jury demonstrating that she has done all that was required of her in the delivery and release of her albums,” her legal team said in response.
Roc Nation’s “Real Lawyers” Pointed Out Her Contract With 1501 Was “Crazy”
The 23-year-old Hip-Hop star claimed in her suit that 1501 tricked her into signing an “unconscionable” record deal that fell well below industry standards in 2018.
After linking up with Roc Nation the following year to handle management, she spoke with “real lawyers,” and they pointed out how “crazy” her contract with 1501 is. Thee Stallion also claims Carl Crawford and his imprint have “systematically failed” to pay her royalties.

Another day, another rapper or celebrity sharing their head*ss opinion on Tory Lanez being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
Legal expert and frequent court visitor Kodak Black is the latest person with something to say about Tory Lanez being found guilty on all charges.

Like the ridiculous petition started by “fans” and Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, and other family members, Black also stupidly believes that JAY-Z and Roc Nation have something to do with the trial’s outcome.
Kodak Black Thinks JAY-Z Is A “F*ck N*gga”
In an Instagram Live session, the rapper shared his unwanted opinion, chastising the victim in all of this, Megan Thee Stallion, for speaking on the matter while dissing the GOD MC, JAY-Z.
Via HipNMore:
Who advised this sh*t before Christmas? And Jay-Z standing behind this, you a f*ck n*gga homie,” Kodak said, dissing Jay-Z and believing the wild rumors that his company Roc Nation has a big role to play in the case. “And Meg, you supposed to be from the streets …. even it was a gunshot on your foot (and not pavement fragments) … I know a b*tch who got shot in the toe, too. I know a female who got shot in the toe. You don’t see her talking about sending n*ggas to jail.” He also called Tory a “good n*gga.”
“This shit aint right, homie. For real, bro,” Kodak continued. “And Tory Lanez a good nigga, bro…This shit fu**ing with my Christmas Eve. Everybody shit ain’t for me to speak on. But it’s like ni**as aint finna talk about that. Ni**as finna act like this shit ain’t never happen. I don’t know. I wasn’t in the courtroom. But at the same time, if it is some fu**ed up shit going on, ni**as ain’t gonna wanna say nothing because of the politics bullshit. And all of this Jay-Z shit. But I don’t like that shit nan bit.”

Tory Lanez spent Christmas in a cell after a jury of his peers found him guilty on all three charges, specifically, shooting Hip-Hop superstar Megan Thee Stallion. Now, his “fans” hope a petition will get him a new trial and keep him out of prison.

Spotted on TMZ, a petition sprouted up on Change.org immediately following the jury delivering the guilty verdict to the Canadian musician.

Tory Lanez’s family, friends, and fans are calling out the music industry, mainly JAY-Z, his company Roc Nation, and the jury, pushing a wild argument that Lanez is some sacrificial lamb for the “protect Black women” movement.
According to this crazy petition that has ridiculously garnered 19K signatures, Tory Lanez’s trial was a “circus of speculation, insufficient evidence, inconsistencies, and drunken memories [that] left us without much moral certainty of any truth.”
Word?
Peep Their Crazy Reasoning
These so-called “fans” of Lanez are zeroing in on the jury, labeling them irresponsible, and they rushed to their decision leading to Lanez being guilty on all three counts, which they feel was unjust.
“This case is also about branding, marketing, label heads and a music industry that pushes narratives based on who they have personally invested millions into. Could Jay-Z or RocNation be involved??,” that’s just one of the most wild claims it pushes.
The petition also takes the racial route stating, “Was this case taken because of a political pressure to fake protect Black women? African-Americans went along with hashtags that didn’t protect anyone & instead caused division between Black women and Black men.”
Lol, whatever.
These latest developments came after Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson (yes, that is his name), exited the court claiming Roc Nation and JAY-Z are somehow behind his son’s legal woes.

Good luck to Sonstar getting his boy Daystar out of this jam.

The Tory Lanez criminal trial is underway and about to wrap up. As reporters feed information to those intrigued by the spectacle this court case has become, allowing them to form opinions, primarily false, Megan Thee Stallion, the apparent victim in all of this, has gained an unlikely supporter in Candace Owens.
A broken clock is right twice a day.
Edgeless coonservative Candace Owens, who in the past has criticized Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for their raunchy hit record “WAP,” is putting on her cape for the Houston rapper.
Taking to Elon Musk’s Twitter, Owens blasted the obvious misogynoir Thee Stallion is receiving and shared a clip from her podcast calling it out.
In the caption for the tweet, she wrote, “Megan Thee Stallion has credibly accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in the foot. She turned down hush money and has been stabbed in the back by her friends. Instead of getting showered with support, Megan was mocked. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be in her position.”

Twitter, Of Course, Can’t Believe What They Saw
It’s a safe bet to assume no one foresaw Candace Owens coming to the defense of Megan Thee Stallion.
The reactions to the tweet from other Twitter users are a clear indication of that. “I promise you, I PROMISE YOU, Candace Owens speaking truth to power in the year of our Lord 2022 was not on my bingo card,” one woman wrote on Twitter.

“Wasn’t expecting this but there are some valid points. Megan Thee Stallion deserves a lot more than the laughs, jeers, hate & suspicion she’s receiving as a domestic violence victim. The way she’s being treated by the culture, hip-hop/rap community and the media is vile,” another Twitter user wrote in response to the clip.

Owens is a notorious hater; honestly, if you closed her eyes and heard her taking, you would think she’s a white woman. With this surprising turn of events, her melanin is still present, and she recognizes a fellow Black woman’s pain.
The conservative talking head also claims this is not the first time she has put on a cape for Black artists.
“I actually defend a lot of black artists on my platform. The media just never covers it when I do,” she wrote in reply to a tweet.
“Notice that despite this going viral, there are no headlines about me defending Megan,” she added.
Well, Candace, here is your headline for saying something right.
You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

Tory Lanez and his defense team were thrown a huge curveball when a witness they hoped would help their case did the exact opposite.
Tuesday, Dec.20, the whirlwind Tory Lanez trial continued, and we are sure Tory Lanez and his team of lawyers thought it would be a good day for him, but it turned out to be the exact opposite.

A man said he saw an all-out roadside assault with Megan Thee Stallion being the victim, GASP. According to the man’s testimony, a fight broke out between two women, followed by an angry “short guy,” his words not ours, “firing everywhere.”
He also said he saw a woman fire the first shot.
Per Variety:
Court sessions opened on Tuesday with Sean Kelly’s testimony that he woke up to the sounds of two women violently fighting by a car where they “were pulling their hair and hitting each other,” he said, describing the interaction as “quite violent,” as reported Law and Crime’s Meghann Cuniff. It’s worth noting that when Kelly called 911, he didn’t report a shooting — he reported a group beating on a woman.
He told the defense that he did not see someone fire a gun, but said he “just saw flashes,” and again testified that they came from the shorter gentleman — a term he repeatedly used to describe Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson — who appeared to be “very angry….making lots of noise,” but again stated that he “never saw a gun,” a confusing bit of testimonial since as he continued to say that a woman had fired the first shot. “I believe I saw the girl shoot first,” he said, but he didn’t know she had a gun at the time, “I believed it was fireworks.”
The Witness Thought They Were Going To Throw The Stallion Into The River
Kelly also claims he did not hear Lanez say “dance b*tch,” which Megan Thee Stallion testified the Canadian Hip-Hop star said before he shot her.
The witness also notes that “everyone was fighting — even the driver” and that the “shorter guy was pushing and fighting both girls…then everyone started beating one girl,” and concluded with his assumption that “it appeared that they were going to throw her in the river.”
This latest development comes after Kelsey Harris, Meg’s former best friend, conveniently couldn’t recall what went down that night after initially stating she saw Lanez with a gun and shoot at the Houston rapper.
Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard, a key witness for the prosecution, is also presumed missing, but the LAPD has not yet opened a missing person case.
