Dee-1 sparked the ire of Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and Jim Jones after making comments about the musical output of his fellow Hip-Hop artists, and is now looking to smooth over their issues. Despite getting less than favorable replies from the aforementioned trio, Dee-1 says he hopes that the dustup could lead to an eventual conversation.
Dee-1 was a guest on Shade 45’s Sway In The Morning program around two weeks ago speaking on some of his recent moves both in music and in the activism space where he’s also put his energy toward. During that chat, the New Orleans rapper had harsh words for Ross, Mill, and Jones, urging them to use their massive fame and influence for positive change.
Dee-1’s words reached the ears of Ross, Mill, and Jones, with Rozay recording a series of videos addressing Dee-1 and explaining how he and Jones give back to their respective communities in ways that aren’t always highly publicized. Jones, in his eloquence, also shared his disdain for the criticism and essentially said that Dee should have reached out to him to discuss any particulars.
In a new interview via B High TV that aired over the weekend, Dee-1 realized he may have spoken from an uninformed space and hopes that a conversation can occur between the artists.
“Jim Jones, I love you; Meek Mill, I love you; Rick Ross, I love you,” Dee-1 says in the interview. “The world wants it to become something negative and unhealthy, but let’s make sure we use this as an opportunity to educate and to communicate.”
He continued, “And if that means we can be friends at the end of this, cool. If we can’t ever be friends, cool, all good. Just go be a better man of God and I’m a try to be the best man of God I can be, and it’s Gucci.”

Kodak Black might’ve had no problem collaborating with well-known snitch Tekashi 6ix9ine on a song, but that act alone now has Meek Mill rethinking his career title and ready to give up the label of being a “rapper.”
Fans of the Philadelphia rapper took notice of Meek Mill’s recent comment on one of DJ Akademiks’ post in which Kodak Black explained why he decided to collaborate with Tekashi on the track “Shaka Laka” (money of course). Taking to the comments section to express his feelings on the clip, Meek bluntly stated “I damn near don’t even wanna be labeled a rapper nomore.”
Meek must feel like being a “rapper” means the code of the streets gets thrown out the window when it comes to securing the almighty bag.
He’s not wrong as Kodak explained to N.O.R.E. on a recent episode of Drink Champs that at the end of the day it was all about that cool million he pocketed to get on a track with someone who infamously testified against his old crew and sent many of them to prison.
Saying he immediately agreed to do the song when approached by Tekashi 6ix9ine’s camp, Kodak revealed that another rapper also agreed but backed out of the collaboration after some people convinced him it would be a bad look. Black ain’t care what people thought about it, though as he wasn’t going to let seven digits pass him by.
“They f*ck with me because I gave my answer and that was that. Ain’t nothing to think about. That’s an M homie. One song. Like what the f*ck? I understand the value of a dollar. $100 is still $100. A band is still a band. I don’t even know the n*ggas he told on and I ain’t even from other there. N*gga, that’s y’all rat!”
Well, when you put it like that, Kodak. Funny enough on his original verse of the “Shaka Laka,” Kodak actually snuck in a 6ix9ine diss saying “I’m so raw I got a rat giving me cheese.” Ultimately the line was removed, but Kodak tried it. Regardless he did the song, got paid a million and didn’t lose any sleep over it.
Now Meek Mill doesn’t wanna be labeled a rapper anymore.
What do y’all think of Kodak’s collaboration with Tekashi and Meek Mill’s reaction to his justification? Let us know in the comments section below.

Meek Mill can finally get a job…if he needed to anyway.
By that we mean that Meek Mill’s criminal record has been expunged according to the Philadelphia rapper himself. Earlier this year Meek Mill was granted a pardon by Pennsylvania’s Gov. Tom Wolf, and during a recent appearance on The Morning Hustle, Meek Mill was joined by the Bawse, Rick Ross when he announced that after months of waiting, his criminal record has been wiped clean.
Calling it a “burden,” Meek told the radio crew that “My record was still showing up as if I was a felon, if I tried to do anything like, normal, and the system – it took a few months to go by, but I got the letter yesterday telling me that my record is officially clean.”
Good for Meek!
With Rick Ross beside him and leading the cheering squad by announcing “That boy Meek Mill record clean!” the two are seemingly in a better place than they were years ago when Meek was dealing with all kinds of legal issues and his relationship with Ross seemed strained beyond repair.
Now that Meek’s been living his best life having gotten over his legal problems, squashed his beef with Drake and reunited with Ross, he and Rozay are prepping for the release of their collaborative album, Too Good To Be True which is slated to drop on November 10.
With his record is now freshly clean, we just hope Meek stays out of trouble and keeps from making social media headlines for all the wrong and weird reasons as he’s been prone to do over the past few years.
What do y’all think of Meek’s record being wiped clean? Let us know in the comments section below.

Meek Mill likes to keep clean feets but won’t drop a big bag on them. He revealed the most he ever spent on sneaker was about $5,000.
As spotted on HipHopDX the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native recently attended the New York Got Sole sneaker conference. While making his rounds at the event he conducted a brief interview on his sneaker history, likes and dislikes. When asked what is the most he has ever spent on a sneaker he explained he isn’t reckless with his money when it comes to footwear. “I think like $5,000,” Meek Mill responded. “Only one time. My style is not spending a lot. The way I am I might buy a new pair of sneaks — I will ride an ATV in a pair of Louis Air Forces the first day.”
Later on while browsing through Nike Dunks he doubled down on his earlier statement saying “I buy good sneaks but I just don’t buy the super expensive good ones.” He was also asked his opinion on the best sneaker of all time the “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper had a very hot take for a response. “The Charles Barkley (Nike Air Max CB 94)” he replied. When asked for what model he went with the OG Pure Purple colorway saying “that’s my favorite sneaker of all time.” Moments later he found that exact same shoe on a table and paid $250 for a 10.5 size.

Meek Mill has gone viral yet again—and this time it was not flattering. The Philly rapper shared a photo of him post-throwing up after too many drinks during the holiday weekend.
As spotted on HipHopDX the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania talent apparently turned up heavy earlier this week. So much so he got a bit sick and had to let the poison out. For whatever reason he took to social media and admitted the alcohol won with a photo of him by the toilet. “Too much liquor smh …” he wrote. While he probably thought he was sharing an innocent moment with the world the visual quickly picked up speed on Twitter and he immediately caught flack.

“meek mill’s brain needs to be studied” one user wrote on a repost. While another stated that the Dreams & Nightmares rapper makes him feel a ways “bro meek mill really be pissing me off”. Eventually the ceramic slander landed on his radar prompting him to respond to the fail. “We have so much influence they trying to use Small internet campaigns to sway the peoples perception of artist,” he rationalized. “We are basically our own media bases now and we can say what we want at will in front of millions and they don’t feel that!”
He continued: “Anything I post they try to amplify it and me me look stupid … I wasn’t created on the internet and I know they got some of y’all in a trans threw social perception… that’s why content creators win because lead the narrative.” This is not the first, and probably not the last, time Meek Mill has caught heat online for his social shares. Last month he asked the world if he had fallen off and the responses were not pretty. Also let’s not forget when he tried to shame Drake for allegedly having ghostwriters but was eventually labeled as having “Twitter Fingers”.

It seems any issues that Meek Mill and Rick Ross had are now in the past. Rozay has reportedly purchased Meek’s home for four million dollars in cash.
As spotted on Complex the MMG talent once again proves that he is bossed up. This week WSBTV reported that Meek had been trying to offload the Buckhead property for some time. After almost two years the Philadelphia MC took matters into his own hands and posted visuals on his social media channels promoting that the home was on the market. “come grab this Jawn … it’s some top secret shit in there too!” he wrote on Twitter.
It seems his approach was just what the doctor ordered as his realtor Alisha Gillooly confirmed that the eight-bedroom nine-bathroom property was purchased by $4.2 million dollars in cash by Rick Ross. The house reportedly includes a private pool, movie theater, tennis court, jacuzzi, playground and double garage. In an ironic twist of events Meek shared on Instagram Story that he didn’t even know that Rick Ross purchased the house until media outlets picked up the story. “Sold Rozay the big fish estates … I ain’t even know he bought this lol”.
It is not clear if Rick Ross will keep this location or use it as an investment property.

The legal representation for Donald Trump rang a familiar tone for Meek Mill, who pointed out that they share the same lawyer online.
As the former president was present in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday afternoon (April 4), the Expensive Pain artist shared a photo from the arraignment on his Instagram Story featuring Trump seated with his lawyers in the courtroom. With a headline in bold letters across it, Meek Mill’s caption read, “Trump graduated from the streets…sharing criminal lawyers [with us]…Joe Tactical.”
“Joe Tactical” is the rapper’s moniker for Joe Tacopina, who is representing the former president in this case. Meek Mill would then post another photo, this time of himself standing next to Tacopina after a court hearing. The picture stems from the rapper’s 2017 case where he sought to overturn a prison sentence he received for violating probation on a decade-old gun and drug case.
Tacopina and the rest of the legal team would prove that Judge Genece Brinkley’s initial ruling was “unjust.” The ruling led to Meek Mill being released by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court after serving five months. The case would go on to be a bellwether that highlighted the racial disparities seen in the probation process and the criminal justice system overall. Meek Mill has since become a strong advocate for criminal justice reform.
Tacopina has made a name for himself as a tough and steely litigator who was formerly a criminal prosecutor in Brooklyn. He’s been a fixture on television since being retained by Trump, insisting that the former president hasn’t broken any laws and calling the indictment “political persecution.” Tacopina has not shied away from representing high-profile figures. He represented A Bronx Tale actor Lillo Brancato on murder/weapons charges, actress Taryn Manning on assault charges, rapper YG on suspicion of robbery and former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez during his steroid scandal and suspension in 2014.
There are some who view Tacopina in a bad light, one of them being former New York Police Department Commissioner Bernard Kerik. A firm supporter of Trump, Kerik declined to comment when asked about Tacopina’s hiring. “I am not going to get into it,” he said. Records show that Kerik had requested the state disciplinary committee to disbar Tacopina, whom he accused of cooperating againstjoe tacopina him in secret during a federal investigation that would see the former cop serve a 48-month prison sentence.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft revealed that Meek Mill reached out to encourage him to trade for star Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
As the National Football League held its annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona on Monday (March 27th), Kraft spoke to reporters and revealed that he had a conversation via text with the “Dreams & Nightmares” rapper three days earlier. “Meek Mill texted and said, ‘Lamar Jackson wants to come to the Patriots,’ Kraft said before adding, “I said, ‘That’s Bill Belichick’s decision.’” When asked about the conversation, Belichick responded in his famously terse manner, “I’m not going to talk about players on any other team.”
Jackson, who’s been the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens since being drafted by them in 2018, announced that he requested a trade from the team on March 2nd. He related the news of his decision via his Twitter account on Monday, asking fans to personally ask him questions.
This comes 20 days after the Ravens applied a non-exclusive franchise tag after failing to come to terms with him on a long-term contract. That tag means that teams can negotiate with Jackson, but if he signs an offer sheet Baltimore has the right to match it or demand two first-round picks in return.
The 26-year-old quarterback is finding no takers for his services, as he is reportedly seeking a fully guaranteed contract similar to the $320 million contract Deshaun Watson signed with the Cleveland Browns. Many have speculated that the Patriots could make a deal with the Ravens despite their often-bitter rivalry with the franchise, but Kraft and Belichick have expressed support for their current QB, Mac Jones.
Meek Mill’s reported involvement sparked a buzz among industry observers, as it is well-known that he and Kraft have a close relationship. Another reason is that Jackson is not represented by an agent, and the NFL has already sent out an internal memo to all 32 teams to remind them not to engage an “unauthorized representative” by the name of Ken Francis in talks concerning a trade for Jackson.
It was soon revealed that Francis is a business partner of Jackson’s in a fitness equipment business. When contacted by ESPN, Francis denied any negotiating efforts, saying: “I don’t speak for Lamar.”

Meek Mill has endured a number of legal issues over his career, but now he’s able to say that one hurdle is cleared in his home state. MIll was among a group of individuals who were granted a pardon by Pennsylvania’s Gov. Tom Wolf, with the Philadelphia rapper vowing to do more for his community on the back of the news.
Meek Mill shared an image of the declaration from Gov. Wolf via his Instagram page and wrote a brief yet hopeful message in the caption of the post.
“Thank y’all [crying emoji],” Meek wrote. “I’m only gone do more for my community, on god! [series of shining star emojis] #newlevelsunlocked.”
The rapper born Rihmeek Williams was slapped with weapons and drug charges in 2008 and sentenced in January 2009 by Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley to 11 1/2 to 23 months in prison and seven years of probation. Mill went on to serve five months and battled the charges along with reported probation violations and continued jail time.
He has since become a notable face in the criminal justice reform movement with assistance from the likes of Robert Kraft, Jay-Z, and others.
Gov. Wolf’s office issued a press release highlighting that over 2,500 individuals were granted pardons this week, the most in state history.
In his excitement, Mill also took to Twitter, writing, “I got pardoned today …, I’m taking things really far from being a trench baby!”
Congratulations are in order for Meek Mill.
