We’re here with Grammy-winning dance legend Steve Angello. You may know him from Swedish House Mafia, but he has plenty of solo work and more to come. Your new single “Hooligans” is out now. 

Steve Angello:
I was playing Coachella, and I needed that energy and that old ravy kind of Hoover sound. I’m getting technical, but like the Hoover soundy kind of ravy sound. And then, yeah, it was like, straight made for the show. It was to get an effect. Vocals was chopped up for the light production. So it was like, super Steve Angello show music, you know. And then I decided to put it out.

And that was Coachella in 2022.

Yes.

I was there. Great show. 

It was a good show. It was fun. 

Very fun. And you teamed up with fellow Swedish House Mafia member Sebastian Ingrosso for “Skip.” Would you say those songs have a similar vibe?

Yeah. I mean, it’s like that clubby energy, right? It’s like the ravy clubby, gritty, little darker. It’s that energy.

Why did the two of you link up for “Skip” instead of it being a full Swedish House Mafia track?

I don’t remember the process of it. I think we just, you know, studio one night made a song because we’ve, you know, the history of us. Me and Ax used to do songs back in early 2000s like we’ve always done together and all three and mix and match, you know?

Young Miko:

Hello, family, how are you? My name is Young Miko and today we are going to go “Behind the Photo.” with Billboard. Here we are on the Jimmy Fallon show with Feid. We sang “Offline” together. It was my first time at the Jimmy Fallon show, so it was very special and it was super fun, a super nice experience. I’m glad I was able to share it with Feid. I mean, when I was a little girl,  I loved to put on band-aids of any character. I think they were like Elmo or from The Simpsons. I thought it was cool to be able to wear colors all over the place and when we made the track “curita” on the album ‘att.’ this was the first thing that popped in my head and I shared it on socials because… I’m here with Mauro, as you can see, my better half, time to make music. This is my brother, I don’t know what would become of me without him. We were in Los Angeles and we were working on ‘att.’ in fact. One of those wonderful days with him in the studio. This was the first time I posted a photo with my somewhat copper hair. Someone Published some lyrics of a song that says: “The red hair with The Rolling Stones T Shirt.”

After posting a video on her IG, “Me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport #VoteCauseICant #TanSuitSeason,” Rihanna received several negative responses and RiRi clapped back! She responded to one comment with the simple yet effective, “Shut up Karen,” while some other responses got a little spicy. Fans are loving the return of Clapback Riri, who was known to never leave a hating tweet unroasted. Is this a sign of good things to come? As the election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is coming to a close, we’re looking back at the music that defined the campaigns. Like when Kamala announced that she was entering the race for the presidency, and Charli XCX tweeted out, “Kamala is brat.” The British pop star helped create more buzz around Vice President Harris, which prompted “KamalaHQ,” the official rapid response of the VP, to change their header to Charli’s signature ‘brat’ green. Since then, several edits and memes of Kamala Harris were made to songs off of ‘Brat’ like “360,” “365,” and “Von Dutch.” From Kamala to Trump, the former president is apparently in charge of picking the music for his rallies and seems to have some repeat favorites that span a wide range of artists, like opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, Frank Sinatra, and the Village People, even dancing along with the signature “YMCA” moves! But that’s not the only song on Trump’s playlist; his campaign has repeatedly used Lee Greenwood’s rendition of “God Bless the U.S.A,” throughout his three campaigns. Drake is moving on from dissing rappers to stars of the NBA as a beef with him and DeMar DeRozan jumped off over the weekend. The Toronto rapper said this while being interviewed at a game:

If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself.

Tetris Kelly:

And he was even caught on camera saying some choice words that we’ll leave up to you to decipher. DeRozan was asked at a press conference about the 6 God’s comment about tearing down a banner and had this to say.

He’s going to have a long way to climb to take it down, so tell him good luck.

Tetris Kelly:

Quincy Jones: His Life in Photos

Musical powerhouse Quincy Jones died on Sunday (Nov. 3) at 91 years old.

“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” his family said in a statement. “And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

“He is truly one of a kind and we will miss him dearly; we take comfort and immense pride in knowing that the love and joy, that were the essence of his being, was shared with the world through all that he created. Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones’ heart will beat for eternity.”

Among his family’s survivors are his seven children, including actress Rashida Jones.

In his illustrious, more than 70-year career, Jones won 28 Grammys and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He has worked with icons from Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson, for whom he produced the best-selling albums Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad. After he took over the A&R sector at Mercury Records in 1961, Jones became the first African-American to serve as a VP at a major label. He was also the first Black composer to receive name recognition for his film work.
