Jung Kook Breaks Spotify Record, 2023 MAMA Awards Performers: SEVENTEEN, TXT & More | Billboard News

City Girls’ JT is setting the record straight on what she really fought with Lil Uzi Vert about at the BET Awards. Jung Kook’s “Seven” featuring Latto became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams in Spotify history, the streaming platform announced. The MAMA Awards have revealed the second round of performers for their 2023 show: ENHYPEN, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, SEVENTEEN, TXT and more are set to hit the stage in Tokyo. And more!

Tetris Kelly:
“And then home of the brave! Of the brave…”

“Of the brave….”

Happy Halloween from Billboard News.

City Girls’ JT is setting the record straight. BTS’ Jung Kook is breaking records. The MAMAs announced another round of epic performers. We sit down with Oliver Tree. And Manuel Turizo explains what’s Behind the Photo.

Happy Halloween! I’m normally Tetris Kelly, but as you can see today, I’m Flavor Flav and it’s Tuesday, October 31st.

We’re starting the show by addressing some rumors. Well, JT from the City Girls is, at least.

JT:
“For real. OK, the reason I threw my phone at Uzi is because…”

Tetris Kelly:
We all remember when couple JT and Lil Uzi Vert got into a little viral altercation in the BET Awards audience. Well, now JT is opening up about exactly what happened. Let me break it down. Earlier this year, videos went viral of JT of City Girls and Lil Uzi Vert arguing at the BET Awards. She legit threw a phone and people were saying it was because of Uzi and Ice Spice. Well JT went on ‘The Breakfast Club’ to clear the air that it was just their homie.

JT:
I had on a huge dress so I’m thinking he’s leaving and about to send somebody back to come and get me but when I got up, he’s down there with Bari — sorry, Bari. He now chilling with Bari and so happens…”

Interviewer:
“Who’s Bari?”

“A$AP Bari?”

“His friend… his friend that he brought. You should have made sure I had that seat.”

Tetris Kelly:
And she made it clear her and Ice Spice had no beef.

JT:
“It was never about another artist because an artist is supposed to be there. Oh, he sat directly back next to Ice Spice. I said where Bari was sitting so it was never a problem.”

Tetris Kelly:
So there’s a lesson here: Always save a seat for your boo.

Manuel Turizo Explains the Stories Behind the Photo | Billboard

Manuel Turizo explains the stories behind these photos backstage at Billboard’s Latin Music Week 2023.

Manuel Turizo

Hey, what’s up my people, I am Manuel Turizo.

Manuel Turizo

And I’ll take you ‘Behind the Photo’ with Billboard.

Manuel Turizo

This is the first one. This was two or three months ago, something like that. I was in Amsterdam, we were on tour and we went for a walk one day, to get to know the place. We were joking about something that someone on the team said. Julian and I were cracking up, so we took a photo.

Manuel Turizo

The pink hair little Beéle. This was on the backstage of Nuestra Tierra Awards in Bogotá. We were having some drinks and we started fooling around, pretending we were at the gym and I was like, OK, let’s do it to see who could do more push-ups. We were just fooling around — things that happen after a couple of drinks.

Manuel Turizo

This one was here in Miami, I really like Juan Luis Guerra’s music and since he was playing here, we went to the concert. When it was over, we got to meet him. I couldn’t miss the photo with someone who is a legend in Latin Music, Juan Luis Guerra, and that was the story behind the photo.

Halloween 2023: See What Musicians Are Dressing Up As

This is Halloween, this is Halloween — and today’s biggest music stars stepped up their costume game this year.

The most high-profile parties over the weekend were Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s Halloween party on Friday (Oct. 27) and Vas Morgan and Michael Braun’s bash on Saturday (Oct. 28).

Stars like Paris Hilton got inspiration from fellow superstars, as the heiress opted to dress as Britney Spears and Katy Perry. Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, meanwhile, drew inspiration from a classic Quentin Tarantino film. MGK donned a blood-drenched yellow jumpsuit similar to the one worn by Uma Thurman’s Bride character and Fox rocked a costume based on the schoolgirl assassin Gogo Yubari, portrayed by actress Chiaki Kuriyama.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber nailed the couple’s costumes as well, rolling up to Vas Morgan and Michael Braun’s party as Bamm-Bamm and Pebbles from The Flintstones. Demi Lovato, meanwhile, revisited her Disney days by dressing as a classic Snow White.

Taylor Swift Holds On to Hot 100 No. 1, Best Halloween Costumes of 2023 & More | Billboard News

Celebrities are showing off their best Halloween costumes during the creepiest, crawliest time of the year. We round up the best costumes donned so far this Halloween season. Can Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” continue its run at No. 1? Morgan Wallen continues to have a big impact on our charts, SZA and Luke Combs continue to stay strong in the top 10 of the Hot 100. Flavor Flav of Public Enemy sang the national anthem at the Hawks-Bucks game this weekend. And more!

Tetris Kelly:
Music’s biggest stars step out for Halloween. Flavor Flav added his signature flavor to the national anthem. We run down this week’s top 10 on the Hot 100. We learned five things about PinkPantheress. And Edgar Barrera plays ‘This or That.’

Welcome to another week of Billboard News. I’m Tetris Kelly, it’s Monday, October 30th, and tomorrow may be Halloween, but this year’s costumes are already epic. From musicians cosplaying as other musicians to your fave’s questionable choices — it’s not even Halloween yet but we’ve got a ton of costumes to get inspo from. We all know Paris Hilton loves Halloween and Britney Spears. Her “Toxic” costume is so perfect, we’ll forgive using “Gimme More” for this look. She also channeled Katy Perry from her Vegas show, and you know she got her right since she got an up close and personal view of the original. Lizzo honored the late Tina Turner with her Halloween look this year. Justin Bieber stepped out twice in what we are assuming is a scuba diver costume and the BamBam to Hailey’s Pebbles.

Also getting into the spooky spirit were Demi Lovato as Snow White, Halsey as some sort of sea creature, Sabrina Carpenter as a princess, and Paris Jackson serves Hobbit realness.

Here Are Five Things You Didn’t Know About PinkPantheress | Billboard

PinkPantheress reveals five things you didn’t know about her!

PinkPantheress:

Hi, I’m PinkPantheress and this is five things that you do not know about me.

Number one, I’m deathly afraid of planes. And by that, I mean sometimes when I mid-flight, I consider finding a reason to make the plane do an emergency stop. But I realized that if I do that I’ll have a criminal investigation against me so I don’t end up doing it but I always have the thought.

I’m a big gamer. I like playing video games. I’m actually weirdly good at Fortnite. I’m not proud of it, but I play for fun and then I accidentally got good.

Number three, I have a very good nose, i.e., I can smell things from super far. And I can smell things and identify them as soon as I smell them. I kind of feel like the rat for ‘Ratatouille’ sometimes.

Number four, I am half Kenyan, I always feel like I need to let people know where I’m from because I’m super proud of my ancestry and my heritage, specifically Mombasa so rep East Africa.

Number five is that I have two singing voices. If you listen to my music, you can hear that the voice I use is super light and airy and quite high pitched but my other singing voice which is the one that I grew up with when I was singing other styles of music is actually a lot deeper. A little bit more soulful and a bit more heavy so double-sided. I’ve got layers to me.

Manuel Turizo Plays Fishing for Answers | Billboard

Manuel Turizo plays Fishing for Answers with Billboard backstage at Billboard’s Latin Music Week 2023.

Manuel Turizo

Hey, my people, I’m Manuel Turizo and I’ll be Fishing for Answers with Billboard.

Manuel Turizo

Do I prefer recording or touring?

Manuel Turizo

I don’t know; I feel that someday in my life, maybe as years go by, I’ll get tired of touring and I won’t want to tour as frequently, but recording, well, I want to do that all my life.

Manuel Turizo

Have you ever met someone who left you starstruck? Who was it?

Manuel Turizo

Yes, I feel that, I don’t know…it’s like every time I meet someone I admire or respect a lot. You get a bit shocked. Yes, of course it makes you a little nervous.

Manuel Turizo

What was your most embarrassing moment onstage?

Manuel Turizo

Once, it was like a 360-degree stage with another one above it, I was singing and…I went up and with the foot I had up, I slipped and fell backward on stage, and everyone in the stadium where we were performing. Everyone was laughing their asses off even I couldn’t stop laughing, but I think that’s the only one.

Manuel Turizo

Who would I love to collaborate with on my next album?

Manuel Turizo

I don’t know many, with Yandel again.

Manuel Turizo

Who is my style icon and why?

Manuel Turizo

I don’t know; I really liked what Virgil Abloh did in the last years before he died.

Feid Explains the Stories Behind the Photo | Billboard

Feid explains the stories behind these photos backstage at Billboard’s Latin Music Week 2023.

Feid

Hello love, I’m Feid and I’m gonna to take you Behind the Photo with Billboard!

Feid

First photo. This photo was the last one was we took in the studio when we finished “Felix Cumpleaños Ferxxo.”

Feid

Before our album got pirated we were having some drinks, we were having a good time. Listening to the album from start to finish, joking around and having fun. I’m the kind of person who takes a lot of photos of the moment of the space, of everything. My photo roll is full. This was a selfie I didn’t want to forget, nor that moment, as we put a lot of love into that project. Considering I started making that album with a broken foot. So it was lovely, and later on walking, listening to it and everything.

Feid

Well the second photo is this…what a gem, look! Ferxxo wearing Ferxxo’s glasses. Mr.Yankee wearing Ferxxo’s glasses and, Don Yandel wearing Ferxxo’s glasses. That was a dream come true for me because, I believe I’ve said it in many interviews, and many people know that one of my influences and someone who has shaped my life as a reggaeton artist has been Yankee. And I used to make Photoshop edits with Yandel when I was in school. It was like we were a duo, so a speak. So, recording the remix of “Yandel 150” with Yankee, and of course, I brought Ferxxo’s glasses to have a good time.
