Billboard Music Awards Performer Profile: Bebe Rexha | Billboard Music Awards 2023

Billboard has announced that Bebe Rexha will be performing at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. Billboard runs through some of the biggest chart highlights of Bebe Rexha’s career.

Bebe Rexha:
When “The Monster,” which is a song I cowrote for Eminem and Rihanna, hit No. 1, I got a picture of all the Billboard Charts and it’s still in the bedroom that I grew up in, in Staten Island.

Tetris Kelly:
Billboard Music Awards performer and finalist Bebe Rexha has been a mainstay on the Billboard Charts in the years since “The Monster” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 in 2013. And she’s no stranger to the Billboard Hot 100 as an artist either with four songs making it to the Top 10 including the song that almost made it to the No. 1 spot on the coveted Hot 100 making it to No. 2.

“Meant To Be” with Florida Georgia Line also has the most weeks at No. 1 ever on the Hot Country Songs chart. It was No. 1 for 50 weeks.

At this year’s BBMAs Bebe is a finalist in three categories, including Top Collaboration for her song “I’m Good (Blue)” with David Guetta.

The duo’s hit song has the second most weeks at No. 1 ever on the Hot Dance Electronic Songs at 55 weeks.

Bebe is also up for Top Billboard Global Excl. US Song and Top Dance Electronic Song.

Here are some of Bebe’s other No. 1 stats…

Two No. 1 hits on the Pop Airplay Chart and two No. 1 hits on the Dance Electronic Songs Chart.

We can’t wait to see Bebe Rexha’s BBMA performance on Sunday, November 19th.

Nicky Jam Plays Fishing for Answers | Billboard

Nicky Jam plays Fishing for Answers with Billboard backstage at Billboard’s Latin Music Week 2023.

Nicky Jam:
Hi, I’m Nicky Jam, and I’ll be Fishing for Answers with Billboard.

“What is your most embarrassing moment on stage moment?” My most embarrassing moment on stage … that’s a good question because I take care of myself a lot. I would say my most embarrassing moment on stage was when I lost my voice one time. I could barely sing and people noticed I couldn’t sing because my voice was gone. I had to let the backup singer sing and I was just pretending I was singing. There was still half an hour of the show left. For me, that was really embarrassing.

“Have you ever met someone who left you starstruck?” Who was it? Juan Luis Guerra. The first time I saw him was at an award show. I’ve been a fan of Juan Luis Guerra since I was about 8 years old and obviously, when I saw him, I was in shock. He is really big, literally. He measures, like, 6’3″ or 6’2″, something around that. The mere fact of being someone’s fan for so many years and following him, when you see him for the first time. I think he’s the only person who has affected me that way.

“What’s the best concert you’ve ever had?” A concert I had in Madrid about two years ago on my tour. It looked like a Queen concert. Incredible to see so many people giving me so much love, and there’s a point where you feel like crying because you feel it’s like a love overload, you get me, of so many people. That was clearly one of the best concerts I’ve ever had. I can’t remember the exact date, but I know it was in Madrid.

Billboard Music Awards Performer Profile: Peso Pluma | Billboard Music Awards 2023

Billboard has announced Peso Pluma will be performing at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. Billboard runs through some of the biggest chart highlights of Peso Pluma’s career.

Peso Pluma
It’s just a start, it’s just the beginning of a new era of Mexican music.

Tetris Kelly
It’s been a big year for Peso Puma, our BBMA top new artists finalist. The regional Mexican singer has dominated the Billboard charts all year, bringing regional Mexican music to the forefront. Some of his biggest accomplishments include 22 career entries on the Billboard Hot 100, 14 songs on the Hot 100 at the same time, and his album ‘Genesis’ spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums.

Peso Pluma
It was like my first baby, you know? And just watching it being in the top charts with very big, important names because it was just such a crazy thing.

Tetris Kelly
“Ella Baila Solo” is the first regional Mexican songs hit the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Peso is a finalist in five categories, including top new artists and top Latin artists. And he’s no stranger to the coveted No. 1s on the Billboard chart. Some highlights include one No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, No. 1 on top Latin albums, three No.1s on Hot Latin songs. Peso Puma has cemented his place in Billboard history and earned his spot as a BBMAs finalist.

Hot 100 Chart Reveal: Nov. 11, 2023 | Billboard News

Can “Cruel Summer” hold its top spot after Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Verison) has completely taken over our charts? And Doja Cat and SZA are still holding on to their spots in the top 10.

Tetris Kelly:
This is the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week dated Nov. 11.

We kick off the week of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) with “Suburban Legends.”

At nine, Taylor never goes out of “Style.”

SZA’s “Snooze” stays in the top 10 at eight.

“Bad Blood” is red hot at No. 7.

“Cruel Summer” falls to six.

Back in the vault for “Say Don’t Go” at five.

Doja contributes to the girls-only top 10 at four.

Back to 1989 for “Slut!”

At No. 2 is “Now That We Don’t Talk.”

And with her eighth top 10 this week and 11th career No. 1, is Taylor Swift’s “Is It Over Now?”

2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony: Photos From the Show

Music greats from around the world gathered at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in New York City on Friday (Nov. 3) to celebrate and welcome a new class into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the annual induction ceremony.

The 2023 inductees were Sheryl Crow, Kate Bush, Rage Against the Machine, George Michael, Missy Elliott, Willie Nelson and The Spinners. Recognized for their musical influence were DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray, while Chaka Khan, Al Cooper and Bernie Taupin were honored for their musical excellence, and Don Cornelius received the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Singer-songwriter Crow — who was introduced by Oscar-winner Laura Dern — opened up the show with a performance that included rising pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo, as well as rock icons Stevie Nicks and Peter Frampton. Jazmine Sullivan introduced Chaka Khan, who took the stage alongside H.E.R., and later Common. The late, great George Michael — who died at age 53 on Christmas Day 2016 — was inducted as Miguel, Adam Levine and Carrie Underwood paid tribute by performing some of his greatest hits.

Other musical luminaries presenting and/or performing at the star-studded event — which streamed live on Disney+ — included LL Cool J (who inducted DJ Kool Herc), Elton John (inducting his longtime writing partner Taupin), Dave Matthews, St. Vincent, Chris Stapleton, Ice-T, Brandi Carlile, Queen Latifah, Big Boi and New Edition.

City Girls Explain Why They Wanted to Work With Kim Petras on New Album & More | Billboard News

City Girls stopped by Billboard News and opened up about their new album, RAW, working with Kim Petras, their relationships with Diddy and Lil Uzi Vert, their support for the transgender community and more!

Catrise J:
People were talking about it, talking about you’re in the Illuminati. How do you … what do you say to people that say that to you?

JT:
I don’t even, girl … the Illuminati, call me!

What’s up? It’s the City Girls and you’re watching Billboard News. Period.

Catrise J:
Hi, everyone. It’s your girl, Catrise J, with Billboard News, and we have the City Girls! Welcome!

Yung Miami:
Hello.

Catrise J:
So I want to start with the new album, which I’m very excited about. Your first single on the record is with Kim Petras called “Flashy.” What made you want to work with Kim Petras?

JT:
We were looking for somebody who was going to sound good on the record. And Kim Petras, I think that she’s dope and she sounds great.

Catrise J:
What’s your favorite songs off the album?

JT:
My favorite songs change every day. If I could pick my favorite song today, it would be “Work for It.”

Catrise J:
Hmm … Why is it that song?

JT:
I like the beat because it’s like a sample of one of my favorite songs. I think that’s why I’m so in love with “Work for It” because they remind me of nostalgia and my childhood.

Catrise J:
Also, you mentioned earlier we were talking “F–k the D to the A” — that’s an older song. So are some of the songs a mixture of newer songs, older songs that you, like, recorded, never released, or …?

JT:
“F–k the D to the A” is the second song we ever recorded. It’s like raw and authentic, just like the name of the project. Like, our day one fans always ask for it to be on streaming, so it’s like a surprise to them. It’s like a gift to our day ones.

Catrise J:
That’s exciting. That’s quite a gift.

2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Red Carpet Photos

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame red carpet welcomed a slew of stars to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday (Nov. 3) night to honor the Rock Hall’s Class of 2023.

This year sees the induction of Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners. Additionally, DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray see induction in the musical influence category; Chaka Khan, Al Kooper and Taupin enter the ranks in the musical excellence field; and Don Cornelius is inducted with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The eclectic Rock Hall Class of 2023 brought out performers and presenters who spanned hip-hop, rock, pop, R&B and country: Adam Levine, Brandi Carlile, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Common, Dave Matthews, Elton John, H.E.R., Ice-T, LL Cool J, Miguel, New Edition, Olivia Rodrigo, Queen Latifah, Sia, Stevie Nicks and St. Vincent.

Even before the ceremony started, the Barclays Center was lit. When it was announced that LED wristbands, which were provided for the audience, would factor into Missy Elliott’s performance, the crowd roared its excitement to see the hip-hop trailblazer take the stage.

The night of the show, Kate Bush confirmed she would not be attending.

“I am completely blown away by this huge honour – an award that sits in the big beating heart of the American music industry. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. I never imagined I would be given this wonderful accolade.”

Bush didn’t provide a reason for her absence, but the art rock icon is known as an artist who shies away from the spotlight (not to mention that she doesn’t exactly love flying). “I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend the ceremony tonight, but for me the real honour is knowing that you felt I deserved it.”

Jung Kook has arrived and more new music. We have City Girls on the couch. Mariah Carey tells Jimmy how she feels about The Beatles. We go to concerts with Doja Cat and Kim Petras and play ‘This or That’ with Keityn. Happy ‘Golden’ day! It’s Friday, November 3rd. I’m Tetris Kelly, and this is Billboard News. There’s so much music and news today, so I’ll stop rambling and give you the first entry in our Friday Music Guide.

Tetris Kelly
After back-to-back hit singles, Jung Kook has given us his first full solo album with ‘Golden.’ More new music will be coming at you throughout the show, but let’s get to some news.

Tetris Kelly
What a way to wake up. Mariah season is here and she pranked Jimmy Kimmel and stopped by his show to give an interview with all the Mimi we needed.

Tetris Kelly
In the most Mariah Carey way possible, the superstar woke up Jimmy Kimmel at 2 a.m. in his home to declare it’s time for Christmas season. And now that it’s time to play her 19th No. 1 on repeat that she cared that The Beatles just put out a new song that could add to their 20 No. 1s,

Tetris Kelly
And her kids will be joining her on her Christmas tour. But will they be getting paid?

Tetris Kelly
Actually, now I need to call Mariah. Gotta love a moneymaking opportunity, Ms. Carey.
