Food and music has always been my way of staying connected to my roots. Leaving Venezuela was difficult and it was not just about adapting, but to find a way to blend my past with what I had already had in front of me. I wanted to make a living from music, but I knew that in Venezuela, I was not going to be able to. And sometimes we have to make sacrifices in order to get what you want in life, and I was aware of what I had to do and also what I had to sacrifice. I went through a lot of things that as an immigrant we have to go through when you come here, and regardless of how tired I was when I got home, I always try to dedicate a couple of hours to my music and the love that I have for music is what makes me keep going forward and I believe that this what motivates me the most. It is beautiful when there is a bigger purpose than your own personal interest. I know that I am not just doing it for me, but for my culture and my people. Venezuelan food is like a little piece of home that I can take with me no matter where I am. When I am far away from home, it is those familiar flavors that bring me home. Arepas, empanadas, the things I grew up with.

Half of the top 10 are new to this week’s chart, with a total of four debuts. “Maps” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs holds on to the top spot for a second week on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 for the chart posting Oct. 17. At No.3 is “Pose for Me” by John Mackk and Natalie Nunn thanks to a viral lip-synching trend. Gracie Abrams’ “I Love You, I’m Sorry” returns to the chart at No. 4. It peaked at 34 last month after dropping out of the top 50. KSI and Trippie Redd’s “Thick of It” debuts at No. 6, while Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” debuts at seven after being used in relation to the recent hurricanes. And our final top 10 debut comes from Akon. His new track Akon’s “Beautiful Day” lands at No. 8.

Liam Payne has died at the age of 31 we have the details surrounding the tragic news. Liam Payne from music group One Direction, has died after falling from a hotel in Argentina. Argentinian police confirmed to CNN in a statement, “He fell from a third floor hotel room in Buenos Aires.” Liam was best known as a member of the British group One Direction that formed in 2010 on the UK version of reality show the’X-Factor.’ The group had six top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Liam had one of his own. in 2017 Payne had a son with former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole we have reached out to Liam’s reps. Our condolences are with his family and fans.
After a 14-year career in music that began with the formation of One Direction in 2010 and continued with a successful solo run, Liam Payne has died at age 31. The pop singer/songwriter died after falling from a third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, local police confirmed to CNN.
Before his untimely death, the star made a name for himself in pop music, beginning as one-fifth of the wildly popular British boy band One Direction, which was pieced together in 2010 from the five individual members auditioning for the U.K. version of The X Factor singing competition. In fact, Payne had previously auditioned for the show in 2008, when he was just 14 years old. The judges passed on him, but Simon Cowell encouraged him to return to the show in two years, setting up his eventual 1D future.
One Direction would become one of the most successful pop vocal groups of all time, scoring four sold-out world tours, four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and six Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits.
Payne came out of the gate swinging for his solo debut, enlisting Migos rapper Quavo for his lone solo Hot 100 top 10 “Strip That Down,” which peaked at No. 10 in September 2017. It was one of four Hot 100-charting solo songs for Payne.
Following the news of Payne’s death, celebrities including his “Get Low” collaborator Zedd and Paris Hilton mourned the loss of their friend. “RIP Liam… I can’t believe this is real… absolutely heartbreaking …,” Zedd wrote on X alongside a broken-heart emoji, while Hilton tweeted, “So upsetting to hear the news of @LiamPayne passing … Sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones. RIP my friend.”

First of all, let’s talk about “El Comienzo”, your EP. How did your experiences influence your music in the last year while you were creating your EP?
I always say it’s like my first mini album, so it has to do with the beginning of my career. Do you understand? The album has seven songs as I was removing songs I didn’t want anymore. I was adding songs like “Peligrosa.”

Benson Boone is not only a dynamic vocalist, but an equally powerful onstage performer. The 22-year-old singer has been blowing fans away during his performances with his wild, off-the-piano backflips.
The Freddie Mercury-esque stage presence has helped catapult Boone into pop stardom, following the release of his Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit, “Beautiful Things.”
“I think I knew after I heard the chorus with production that this could be a really big song,” he previously told Billboard of the enduring hit. “With teasing on social media, and with promoting your music, you never really know what’s gonna go. All I can do is try my best to push it. But I was really hoping this one would go, because I do love this song. And outside of any TikTok video, it just feels like a big change for me — a change in the right direction, that’s more like my other music that will be coming out.”
Following the success of his debut album, Fireworks & Rollerblades, Boone has recently expanded his world tour — which launched in the spring — with additional U.S. dates. He has one week left touring across the nation, before he heads to Europe, Asia, and Australia in 2025. Boone’s September 2024 shows in Australia and New Zealand have been rescheduled to January 2025 due to a scheduling conflict, with upgraded venues to meet demand.

It’s been eight years since Meghan Trainor went on tour, and the star takes Billboard behind the scenes of The Timeless Tour at her stop at Madison Square Garden in New York. She talks about what it’s like to bring her husband, Daryl Sabara, and kids on tour with her, what she missed about touring and more!

Don’t TikTok that, goddamn it! Here we go. Damn it! Do we really want to film this for Billboard? Here we go … It’s been, like, eight years since I’ve toured. I talk about it every night with my crowds because I thank them for waiting for me. It’s been incredible to come back and see the fans, and there’s so many families that come out, and they make signs that say, like, ‘I was here eight years ago, and now I’m grown up,’ which is crazy to me.
So we’ve been crushing it, and my husband and I are like, ‘Do we like this? Like, are we good at this?’ Playing MSG is a bucket list, for sure a dream come true. I still don’t believe it until I get on the stage.
My main goal tonight is don’t cry. Don’t cry. Everyone today has treated me like it’s my birthday, and it’s been a bigger deal than like, going to award shows. They’re like, “Happy MSG Day!”
A day in the life on tour with me and my kids. We wake up early with the babies. They wake up around 7:30 — 8 if we’re lucky. We leave early. Daryl and I go to the venue because the kids have to take a nap at the hotel, and then they meet us at the venue. I do vocal warm-ups on the way to the venue, and at 4:15 I do the VIP sound check where I sing a song.

This is the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week dated Oct. 19. Back in the top 10 is Benson Boone, “Please Please Please” rises to nine and Teddy is locked at eight. “Taste” is up to No. 7, as is Chappell to six, Gaga and Bruno to five, Sabrina’s “Espresso” to four, and Post and Morgan to No. 3. “Birds” stays at its No. 2 peak, and we’re still at the bar getting tipsy as Shaboozey grabs the 14th week at No. 1.
