Shakur Stevenson is the current WBC Lightweight champion and made a successful defense of his title over the weekend against Artem Harutyunyan in Stevenson’s hometown of Newark, N.J. The fight was reportedly not a thrilling one, with Cam’Ron and Ma$e critiquing Stevenson’s performance, promoting a fiery tirade from the boxer online that has now erupted into a true war of words.
Shakur Stevenson, 27, was made aware of the disdain that not only fight fans but his corner also noticed on July 6. Many times throughout the fight, Stevenson’s corner pleaded with him to throw punches but Harutyunyan was also relatively inactive. This performance caught the eye of Cam’Ron and Ma$e, who had some things to say on their It Is What It Is sports talk program.
Much of the vitriol from Stevenson landed in the direction of Ma$e, and we’ll share some of the Xitter replies in question in the gallery below. Let’s just say that it’s very much up for Stevenson against the It Is What It Is hosts.
The artist born Mason Betha responded to Stevenson with a menacing drawl letting it be known in so many words that it can turn to beef if it needs to. Killa Cam also added some sauce on top of the brewing beef, telling Stevenson that street boxing isn’t the same as boxing in the ring.
Despite enjoying his recent title defense, Shakur Stevenson has been going off on Xitter, which made Ma$e and Cam’Ron essentially say that the boxer is crashing out.
Check out the chatter and reactions below.

On Thursday (April 11), news broke that O.J. Simpson passed away from cancer at the age of 76 on April 10. While many were happy to learn that the Juice was going to be put in a box, Cam’ron and Mase paid homage to the controversial figure who was a regular on their hit show, It Is What It Is.
Posting a video tribute on their IG page which featured O.J. Simpson on their show, a caption was included, which broke down how honored the crew felt to have had him be a part of their podcast.
“1st OF ALL WE WANT TO SEND OUR HEART FELT CONDOLENCES OUT TO THE FAMILY OF #OJSIMPSON 2nd OF ALL WE JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU ‘UNCLE O’ FOR GRACING US WITH YOUR PRESENCE, YOU WERE DEFINITELY ONE OF A KIND, YOU BECAME ‘UNCLE O’ TO US CAUSE IT WAS LIKE HAVING A REAL UNCLE AROUND, YOU WERE FUNNY & VERY DOWN TO EARTH… ” the post began. “WHEN WE SIGNED OUR DEAL THE FIRST CO-HOST WE THOUGHT ABOUT HAVING WAS ‘UNCLE O’ WE SAID OH WE GONE BREAK THE INTERNET WITH #OJ & THAT WE DID, YOU HELPED MAKE OUR SHOW 10x’s BETTER & EVERYONE LOVED YOU… WE WILL CHERISH THESE LAST MEMORIES WE WERE ABLE TO SHARE WITH YOU… YOU WILL FOREVER BE APART OF THE #ITISWHATITISTALK FAMILY 🕊️ WE LOVE YOU ‘UNCLE O’…. #LLTHEJUICE🖤”
We’re not gonna lie, having O.J Simpson on that show was pretty wild but very entertaining given the circumstances of his past.
While many were bothered by the fact that Simpson would get another chance at stardom on any platform, the man did show he would’ve been a great sports talk show personality with his insight and takes on football players and games. But again, the man is known for allegedly murdering his ex-wife and her friend and surprisingly getting away with it in a court of law. So yeah.
Check out the video tribute, and let us know your thoughts on it in the comments section below.

Dwight Howard is in the middle of an ongoing lawsuit alleging that he sexually assaulted a man over the summer and orchestrated an unwelcomed threesome, and now he’s speaking out. After Mase discussed the matter on his podcast with co-host Cam’Ron, Dwight Howard has choice words in response.
Earlier this week on the It Is What It Is talk show with Cam’Ron and Mase, the Harlem rapper and broadcaster mentioned Howard’s situation involving a man named Stephen Harper bringing a lawsuit against him. In Harper’s lawsuit, he alleges that Howard invited him to his home for a physical encounter but was blindsided by a transperson by the name of Kitty which Harper didn’t initially agree with.
Mase, as it usually happens on It Is What It Is, had their unique take on the situation with the host noting that if the act was indeed consensual, nothing about bringing in another person without their knowledge would come off as consent.
Check out Mase’s side of things in the video below from It Is What It Is. Start at the 43:00-minute mark for the comments referenced above.

Dwight Howard’s recent legal issues are a trending topic. MA$E had time to address the former NBA star and the allegations he is facing and it was pure comedy.
HipHopDX is reporting that the most recent episode of the viral sports commentary show It Is What It Is addressed Dwight Howard’s recent admission to courting another man. In 2021 the National Basketball League star was accused by Stephen Harper of sexual assault. The victim claims he met Howard online and the two then decided to meet in person. They finally did but it is alleged that Dwight invited a transgender individual named “Kitty” to Harper’s surprise.
Radar Online obtained the lawsuit documentation; it reads that Howard “grabbed Mr. Harper by the thighs, forcibly removed Mr. Harper’s underwear, held Mr. Harper down, and performed nonconsensual oral sex on Mr. Harper”. The filing also states “Mr. Harper was in fear of imminent bodily harm when he was pinned down and forced to remain in place while Defendant continued to sexually assault him.”
Around the 43-minute mark MA$E discusses the situation; the result is one of the most memorable comedic moments of the show’s history. “We got to stop telling people, ‘I don’t care what you do on your own time.’ Because we do care… And women, you got to stop. We got to stop telling n****s, ‘What you do in your own personal time has nothing to do with me.’ It does matter. Those are the lies that are going on in society,” he said.
The Harlem native went on to further explain his stance. “People will say, ‘It don’t matter.’ But as soon as they find out, it matters. So they outing them. When it comes down to making money off the story, it matters” he added. “When it comes down to who dating you it’s gonna matter. When it comes down to if you’re gonna be in the locker room with them, it matters. Because there’s about 30 teams who didn’t sign Dwight Howard because it matters.” As expected his co-hosts found the talk track hilarious resulting in Cam’ron and Stat Baby holding back their laughs. You can see MA$E discuss the situation below.

Mase rarely does interviews, but whenever he speaks the people listen. He recently revealed Blood gang members were after him right after The Notorious B.I.G. was murdered.
According to HipHopDX, the latest episode of It Is What It Is offered some more context on the Harlem MC’s wellbeing shortly after his labelmate was killed. As a new reoccurring segment Cam’ron asks the “Feels So Good” rapper questions he is frequently asked by fans. Mase recalled being abandoned by his team and was literally trapped in his room.
“I was in a hotel. I was actually in a hotel with a young lady,” he recalled. “I was trapped in the hotel. It was about, probably like, 70 or so Bloods in the hallway. I couldn’t even leave my room. After B.I.G. got killed, they were probably looking for more Bad Boy artists. And I couldn’t even leave the room ’til Gene Deal [former bodyguard for Diddy] had to come get me.”
Mase went on to detail how he got out of town. “I was left in LA and from that day, I always said, ‘I’m out of here,’” he added. “I was left! I came there with people; I ain’t leave with those people. You know how it goes. Find your way home.” He also disclosed he did not fly out of a Los Angeles airport to get home. “To my recollection, I think we had to go to Vegas or something like that to get back to New York.”

Cam’ron and MA$E are proving yet again there are levels to their hit show. O.J. Simpson is the latest guest on It Is What It Is.
As spotted on HipHopDX the popular sports series has extended an invite to the former football great. Joining virtually The Juice spoke to the the two rappers for almost 20 minutes about a variety of topics relating to the NFL. As expected he showed immediate support towards the running backs and made it clear the players in that position should be afforded different consideration given their impact and contribution.
“Eliminate the franchise tag for the running backs,” he said. “You can’t make them subject to the franchise tag. We have the Constitution, the greatest piece of legislation ever written, but we have amendments” he added. “They [the NFL] got to do something to rectify this inequity.” When asked about some of his favorite running backs playing currently he mentioned a select few including Saquon Barkley, Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry, Dalvin Cook and Christian McCaffrey.
He went on to put added respect on Saquon’s name saying “I often tell people… you put us in the same situation, the only guys I’d be competing with are Barry Sanders, Gale Sayers and maybe Eric Dickerson,” O.J. Simpson said. “I would certainly throw Barkley into that argument.”
You can watch Cam’ron, MA$E and O.J. Simpson chop it up; no pun intended below.

Cam’ron and Mase are getting to the bag together like it’s 1997 again.
The two Harlem natives have reportedly signed an 8-figure deal with Underdog Fantasy for their hilarious sports talk show, It Is What It Is.
According to a press release shared with HipHopWired, the partnership will last at least 18 months. The highly popular sports talk show, is hosted by Cameron “Cam’ron” Giles, Mason (Ma$e) Betha, and Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson. “Thank you Nick (Nicholas Green of Underdog Fantasy),” said Killa Cam in a statement, “We appreciate you seeing the true value of ‘It is What it Is.’”
The Brooklyn-based sports platform Underdog Fantasy has cosigned other major sports platforms like Gil’s Arena hosted by former NBA star Gilbert Arenas. It’s a fast-rising sports betting platform available in most states. One can start making bets at eighteen (except for MA and AZ where you have to be 21+, and AL & NE where you have to be 19+).
The two rappers came up early in their careers in Harlem and despite a public split that even spilled onto wax in 2017 (and before), the two childhood friends squashed their beef more than a year ago and came together to work on this sports podcast which was free on YouTube and funded by Cam’ron.
The former Roc-a-Fella rapper told Good Day New York in May that he was courting offers from interested investors.
“A lot of n-ggas hollerin’ at me to try and buy my show or make my show a part of what they’re doing. And listen, I appreciate the love, I appreciate the interest and everything else. This is fully funded by me. I didn’t go get no help. I ain’t got no partners. I ain’t got no bank,” he explained.
“They came and did all this shit and y’all gonna have to offer something I ain’t got. Now you don’t know what I got, but you could assume what I got. I’m not gon’ be unreasonable but you gotta be fair. But right now, with the time being, we gon’ have fun.”
Cam told Good Day New York that his sports debate talk show isn’t the only item that he had been getting offers on. He claimed that he regularly receives offers to buy his iconic pink fur coat—with one recent offer being $300,000.
“The people who offered it to me, I didn’t feel they deserved it,” Cam said. “It was more of a stat to them like, ‘I bought Cam’s jacket.’ It wasn’t really like they appreciated where that jacket came from.”
The jacket was recently immortalized in a New York City Transit MTA card in celebration of Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary.

Rapper-turned-sports analyst, Cam’ron, had time for Kim Kardashian on his bubbling sports show.
Oh boy, Kim Kardashian felt the wrath of Cam’ron on his popular internet “sports debate show” It Is What It Is. The Dipset founder ripped the reality star/mogul for wearing a t-shirt poking fun at her sister, Kendall Jenner’s roster of men she dated.
The video lives on Kim K and her daughter North West’s joint TikTok account earlier this month, and in it, she plays with her and Kanye West’s firstborn child while rocking a “Kendall Starting Five” t-shirt.
On it, a photo of her half-sister is surrounded by the NBA hoopers Jenner was linked to: Devin Booker, Blake Griffin, Jordan Clarkson, Ben Simmons, and Kyle Kuzma.
Speaking with his co-host Ma$e, and moderator, Treasure Wilson, he went in on Kimmy K, calling her out for all the men she dated.
Per HipHopDX:
“I think the bitch got a lot of au-fuckin’-dacity. Bitch, you started off fucking Ray J, why do people ignore that? And now you want to taunt your sister like she got mad n-ggas. She got it from you.”
He added: “Your starting five consists of athletes and entertainers. First of all, we got the head coach, Ray J, then we got Reggie Bush, and then she married that basketball player that wasn’t shit and found out he wasn’t shit and curved that n-gga.
“Then she started messing with another athlete, then she got with Kanye and had kids then got into an argument with Kanye and then rushed to go fuck Pete Davidson. Your line-up is wild, too. You got a lot of nerve, man.”
Remember that Killa Cam is good friends with Koonye West, so he more than likely took extra pleasure in calling out Kim Kardashian.
You can catch Cam’ron and Ma$e at Made In America this summer doing a special set. Somebody check on Jim Jones immediately.

MA$E has been recognized by his community in a profound way. He has been given his own day in Harlem.
As spotted on Vibe Magazine the rapper was honored on Tuesday, January 24 in front of the world famous Apollo Theater on 125th Street. New York City Council Member Kevin C. Riley presented Betha with the proclamation that recognized his “outstanding achievements and enduring contributions” throughout entertainment and culture. The “Feels So Good” MC showed his appreciation for the honor. “I want to thank all of you for coming out here today, but most of all, I want to say this because this really matters in our community: a win only feels great when you win with family,” he said. “Today, I have my whole family here — my wife of 22 years and a bunch of people in the crowd, a bunch of great artists. Thank you, and thank you Harlem for making me great” he said.
The former Bad Boy Entertainment star also went on to specifically give thanks to his spiritual advisor who is largely credited for inspiring him to leave his Rap career behind. “And most of all, my pastor is here. This is the guy that prayed for me when I left Hip-Hop, so y’all all wanna know who changed me? This is the guy that changed me.” This weekend MA$E, Jadakiss and Cam’ron are set to perform at The Apollo Theater on Saturday, January 28 in a special show that aims at celebrating their individual discographies, collaborations and overall contributions to the Rap genre. This is their first official outing since the trip cancelled their “3 Headed Monster Tour” that they originally announced back in September.
While it is unclear why the tour was cancelled, MA$E went on to imply Diddy had a hand in it. “Also to my #1 hater BTS make sure you pull up since your trying to stop everything I do BTS. We know whats going on…but its not gonna stop nothing. Cant Stop Wont Stop.” You can see MA$E post ceremony below.
