The latest epic from the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings together three giants of popular culture: Deadpool, Wolverine and Madonna.
Marvel’s forthcoming action-comedy “Deadpool & Wolverine” is a superhero dream team, which sees Hugh Jackman reprise his role as the hard-as-nails X-Man Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ reckless (and foul-mouthed) Deadpool.
The trailer should fill the cups for anyone weaned on Marvel, comics, action and ‘80s music.

It’s a two-and-a-half-minute NSFW blockbuster, loaded with fight sequences, drug references, Deadpool crashing through the fourth wall and a carpeting of f-bombs, soundtracked to the Madonna classic “Like a Prayer.”
The Queen of Pop’s Billboard Hot 100 leader from 1989 gets a dancey-upgrade for the clip, which was shared on Reynolds’ YouTube page and can be seen in full below.

Madonna justified her royal status earlier this year as “Popular,” her collaboration with the Weeknd and Playboi Carti, creates an impressive piece of U.K. chart history when it became the U.S. pop veteran’s 64th top 10 single, extending her lead as the female artist with the most top 10s in Official Chart history.
Madonna sets chart records for fun. According to the Official Charts Company, the superstar singer has 12 U.K. No. 1 albums, the most among solo female artists, though Taylor Swift is days away from equaling that feat. The Like a Prayer LP, which recently celebrated its 35th anniversary, is one of those leaders (it logged two weeks at the chart summit).
When “Popular” splashed on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023, Madonna joined Cher as the only women to have debuted titles on the chart in five separate decades (Madonna has debuted songs on the Hot 100 in the 1980s, ‘90s, 2000s, ’10s and now ‘20s).
Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine is due out July 26 and is Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film. The forthcoming film is the third in the Deadpool series and follows Deadpool 2 by six years.

Last year it was rumored that Marvel was planning on bringing back the OG Avengers team of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor to help revive the popularity of their struggling MCU and though Marvel boss Kevin Feige poured cold water on the notion, Robert Downey Jr. would be more than happy to return as Tony Starks in future Marvel projects.
In a recent interview with Esquire, the Oscar award-winning actor was asked about reviving his dearly departed Marvel character and much to the surprise of many, Downey raised some eyebrows when he said “Happily. It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me. And look, I always say, Never, ever bet against Kevin Feige. It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win.”
Unfortunately it seems like Feige isn’t looking at an Iron Man return anytime soon as everyone knows that such an event wouldn’t happen until Avengers: Secret Wars which is slated to hit theaters in 2027 or 2028. Until then Marvel Studios will be building up anticipation for the historic crossover event which is said to feature Marvel superheroes from films past such as Tobey McGuire’s Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and even rumors that Nicholas Cage will revive his role as Ghost Rider for the upcoming spectacle.
Even though both Ghost Rider films were struggle, it would be pretty cool to see Cage as the Spirit of Vengeance. Just sayin.’
There’s even word that Hugh Jackman told Kevin Feige that he’d only do Secret Wars if he got screen time with both Tobey McGuire as Spider-Man and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. More reason for Feige to move forward with Iron Man’s return.
But again these are all rumors as Marvel needs some solutions to build interest in the future of their hugely profitable cinematic universe that’s seen a drop in both popularity and box office receipts in the past few years.
What do y’all think? Should Marvel bring back Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man sooner than later? Should they leave the character alone and move on? Let us know in the comments section below.

Marvel video game fans, we might have a banger! The first trailer for the Black Panther and Captain America game, now titled 1943: Rise of Hydra, is here and looks absolutely amazing.
We didn’t see what the Amy Hennig-led game looked like until now, as it was first unveiled during the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase during the D23 Convention in 2022 that was until now.
During the State of Unreal keynote, Marvel and Skydance New Media delivered an epic story trailer showcasing the power of Unreal Engine 5, and it’s f***ing awesome.
Per Kotaku via Marvel, the game’s narrative reads as follows:
As the game’s narrative unfolds, players will assume the role of four central characters: a young Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America; Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather and the WWII-era Black Panther; Gabriel Jones, a US soldier and member of the Howling Commandos; and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris.
In the gorgeous cinematic trailer for 1943: Rise of Hydra, we follow both Captain America and Black Panther as they take down Nazis in Paris. At the same time, Captain America is hunting Black Panther, and the two heroes eventually bump heads on a bridge, but we all know they will eventually team up at some point in the game.

We have no idea how this game will play, but the trailer has already hooked us.
Gamers Are H Y P E D
Gamers on X, formerly Twitter, have been sharing their reactions, specifically showing love to actor Khary Payton (The Walking Dead), who plays T’Challa’s grandfather Azuri, who carries the Black Panther mantle in the game.
We also have to salute the fact that we have not one, not two, but three lead Black protagonists in a AAA video game.
What a time to be alive.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be released in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Sorry, Nintendo Switch owners, you cannot take this ride.
You can see more reactions to the game in the gallery below.

In the post-credits scenes for both Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home, a possible Venom and Spider-Man crossover was teased as fans have been clamoring for Tom Hardy’s anti-hero and Tom Holland’s web-head to finally come face-to-face on the big screen.
Unfortunately, that may not happen. On Tuesday (March 12) the official title to the third installment of Sony’s successful Venom franchise was revealed. And it really seems like Hardy will be hanging up his black alien symbiotie suit by the time the end of credits roll. According to Variety, Venom 3 will be dubbed Venom: The Last Dance, and judging from the title alone the film will serve as Venom’s swan song in Sony’s Spider-Verse that’s been struggling like hell to get off the ground.
Though their have been rumors that the film will ultimately lead to Venom making his way into the MCU to finally meet your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, details about the film have remained under wraps with just rumors that the Marvel villain, Toxin, would be the main antagonist in the film and Chiwetel Ejiofor will be taking on the role of another villain, Orwell Taylor.
Lackluster, yes, we know. But this is apparently the road that writers for Venom: The Last Dance have chosen to go down for what seems to be the final installment.
Variety reports:
Sony first announced the third film was in the works during its CinemaCon presentation in April 2022. The project will be the first appearance of Venom since a credits sequence cameo in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
In February, Temple opened up about the project to Variety, teasing that filming was almost complete. “We’re coming close to an end at the moment,” she said. “It’s been a wild, wonderful ride. It’s so new to me. It’s a big set! This is crazy. It’s been so much fun and I got to work with such cool people. I’ve been so lucky in my career to just have the most incredible casts. I can’t wait for it to get out into the world. I think it’s going to be a good one.”
After the atrocity that was Madame Web, it’s probably best for Sony to just put it’s Spider-Man-less Spider-Verse out of its misery already.
Venom: The Last Dance is set to hit theaters Oct. 25. If it proves to be the final film in the franchise with no connection to any Spider-Man whatsoever (not even Tobey McGuire or Andrew Garfield), the franchise will not be missed. No shots.

Disney+’s highly anticipated animated series X-Men ’97 hasn’t even premiered on the streaming network yet, but already there’s been a major shakeup with its production team.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series creator, writer and producer, Beau DeMayo, was unexpectedly fired from the show just weeks before it was set to premiere on Disney+ and left everyone scratching their heads at the sudden move from Marvel. The decision comes just weeks after DeMayo had finished writing the second season of X-Men ’97 and was already pondering ideas for a third season with his writing team.
As of now, Marvel hasn’t given any reason for the sudden firing of DeMayo who’s also written for the live-action series Moon Knight and was also working on Blade, but best believe we’ll be all ears once they do because this really took the comic book world by surprise.
Per The Hollywood Reporter:
It was [sic] surprising turn of events on the eve of the show’s March 20 debut. Splitting with writers is a normal part of business for Marvel or any studio. However, it is unusual for a top creative on a Marvel project to miss a premiere or cancel press plans last minute, even if they’ve been shuffled to the side. Most Marvel premieres feature multiple screenwriters walking the red carpet, some of whom had been rewritten by other writers also walking the carpet.
Marvel announced DeMayo’s hiring in November 2021. The move was met with some level of excitement, as the scribe brought his identity as a gay Black man to the project, and made it a point in talking to the press about how growing up as the adopted son to white parents with a Korean sister in the South made the X-Men characters — and their struggles for acceptance by society — feel personal to him.
His silence on social media has been acute as he was a prolific poster, sharing X-Men tidbits as well as shirtless pictures of himself at the gym. For a time he also ran a non-explicit Only Fans account, all of which inspired the LGBTQ publication Out to declare him “the Sexy, Gay Marvel Writer & Showrunner to Know.”
Neither Marvel nor DeMayo have responded for comments about the firing but in show business it’s only a matter of time before things leak and rumors swirl around such events. We just hope it was creative differences or something along those lines and nothing more displeasing.
Lord knows it wasn’t easy for DeMayo to have taken on the task of reviving the beloved X-Men animated series as he was attacked online by users who accused him of Whitewashing the character of Sunspot by casting Brazilian actor Gui Agustini to voice the character in the series. It’s a damn VoiceOver role, man, but still it led to DeMayo deactivating his Twitter account for his own mental health.
And now this. SMH.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe might be struggling in popularity at the moment (Deadpool & Wolverine has the potential to change that come this summer). But Disney sure does have comic book fans in a frenzy over their upcoming series and shows and had the internet buzzing when they dropped the first trailer to the highly anticipated X-Men ’97.
Decades after FOX’s X-Men went off the air, Disney+ is bringing back the beloved animated series and picking up where it left off in 1997 when Professor X bid farewell to his mutant family in the series finale. With Cyclops at the helm of the team, the OG X-Men team of Wolverine, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Beast, Jean Grey and Jubilee will continue to take the fight to any and everyone who poses a threat to the world. Though no villains other than the Sentinel’s were shown, you can bet your bottom dollar that some of your favorite mutant baddies such as Apocalypse, Sabretooth, and Mr. Sinister will pop up throughout the series.
Featuring old school animation and the original score that 80’s babies grew to love on Saturday mornings, the new trailer promises to take us back to a time when a dollar could fetch you a bag of chips, a quarter juice and a Phillies blunt. We. Can’t. Wait.
X-Men ’97 is set to hit Disney+ on March 20. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments section below.

It’s no secret that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his beloved role as Wolverine in the highly anticipated Deadpool 3. To show fans just how dedicated he is to giving us the best iteration of the character as he can, Jackman took to IG to show off the workout he takes on to become the iconic X-Men character.
Unfortunately, eagle eyed fans noticed something was lacking in the actor’s grueling workout regiment: his legs. According to Mirror, the 55-year-old actor was reminded by fans that “leg day” is as important as “pull” or “push” days (or however you breakdown your workout routines) as he seemed to have the upper body of a young Jean-Claude Van Damme but the lower body of peak Pee-Wee Herman (no shots).
While many agree that leg day is probably the most boring day at the gym (depending on your workout goals anyway), fans were quick to remind Jackman that it is a necessity to build a complete physique that balances out your overall look and won’t have you looking, well, weird.
Mirror reports:
One fan wrote: “Leg day is a thing…. right? Or CGI will fix that?” While another joked about the actor’s legs, saying: “We all are commenting about the straws hanging from your shorts. Yes, I am referring to your legs.”
But not everyone was critical of Hugh’s workout routine. Some fans were impressed, even dubbing him “Huge Jacked Man”. One defender said: “This LEGEND is 55 years old and people (most of them never worked out) have the audacity to tell Wolverine to work out more his legs? Come on.”
Another added: “Wolverine is back! Great physique sir”. A third praised: “Respect this man!!! Here he goes again!!! Building the muscles!!!” Hugh is preparing for his 10th appearance as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. He’s previously said it’ll take him six months of dedicated training to get fit for the role.
We wouldn’t be surprised if personal trainers are sliding into his DMs offering to help him build his legs just so they can get some of that Marvel money. We know we would.
Still, even though Jackman might have the struggle legs beneath him, he’s still in amazing shape for a man his age. Even if Wolverine is going to be slicing and dicing his foes on a pair of pogo sticks, we’ll still be rushing to theaters when Deadpool 3 drops this summer.
Skinny legs ain’t a deal breaker for us.
Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is back! Ahead of the new season’s release, a trailer was released on Thursday (Jan. 4) The series marks Marvel’s first Black teenage girl superhero (actress Diamond White is voicing Moon Girl) and features guest voices from Alison Brie, Andy Cohen, Daveed Diggs, Maya Hawke, Jennifer Hudson, Method Man, Cobie […]

On Monday (Dec. 18), Jonathan Majors was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, and in turn, Marvel Studios wasted no time in parting ways with the actor.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Majors (who plays Kang The Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) was informed that his services would no longer be required at Marvel as they want no parts of the backlash that would surely follow had they decided to keep him on board. Even though Majors’ Kang The Conqueror storyline was set to play out over the next few years and both upcoming Avengers films, rumors had begun to circulate that Marvel was prepared to move in a completely different direction regardless of what the verdict turned out to be in his court case.
The guilty verdict apparently made the decision that much easier for Marvel to make.
Per The Hollywood Reporter:
Marvel has two courses it could take now. It could recast the part, although it is not clear how many actors would be attracted to a role from which one actor was so publicly fired. The other course is to redevelop its plans and refocus on a brand new villain. While Marvel sources are mum, there is indication that the studio has already been doing just that. In November, Marvel hired Loki creator Michael Waldron to work on a new draft of what was once called Kang Dynasty, but is now being referred to as Avengers 5, according to sources.
The studio has had months to plan for such an eventuality, and it’s possible that Waldon was part of that course correction.
While Marvel could easily recast the role to another up and coming actor such as John Boyega or Damson Idris as many fans have been speculating, what comic book fans are really hoping for is that Marvel finally make way for the long-awaited arrival of Dr. Doom.
Rumors of Dr. Doom being introduced into the MCU picked up steam when talk of Marvel ditching the Kang storyline began earlier this year. Now that Jonathan Majors has been given the pink slip, that clears the way for Marvel to once again spark interest in the MCU and give the fans what they’ve been asking for ever since the Avengers defeated Thanos in Endgame.
Whether or not they actually go that route remains to be seen. But if the higher-ups at Marvel want to regain the same level of popularity they were experiencing just a few years ago, introducing Dr. Doom as the next big bad guy would go a long way. Just sayin.’
What do y’all think of Jonathan Majors being shown the door? Should Marvel recast his role or move on to another big name villain? Let us know in the comments section below. Check out the wide range of social media reactions to Majors taking an L in the gallery.

Though fans remained divided on how good and bad Disney+’s Marvel spinoff shows have been over the last few years (Loki is considered the best of them all), everyone agrees that Marvel’s animated What If…? series was top tier. On Wednesday (Nov. 15), we were blessed with a teaser trailer for the upcoming second season to the fan-favorite series.
Though the titles to the nine-episode series haven’t been revealed, it seems like it will be picking up where the first season left off as The Watcher (Jeffery Wright) will once again be traveling the multiverse and peeking in on various realities in which some of our favorite superheroes find themselves in much different circumstances than we’re used to seeing them in. From seeing Iron Man on a new world alongside Gamora and Valkyrie to revisiting the mystical land of Ta Lo that we were introduced to in Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, the trailer to Season 2 of What If…? promises some pretty bold adventures that we were not expecting.
An interesting little tidbit that fans will immediately notice is that someone new is voicing the Black Panther in this series, and it isn’t Letitia Wright’s Shuri that took over the mantle in Wakanda Forever. Could Marvel have already chosen a new actor to take over the role in future projects, or will this just be for the animated series? We’ll have to wait and see as the name of said actor hasn’t been revealed.
Check out the trailer for Marvel’s What If…? below, and let us know if you’ll be tuning in when it premiers on Disney+ on Dec. 22.
