New year, new kittens! Machine Gun Kelly continues to be a cat lover in 2023, and to prove it, he showed off two felines who have been added to his cat family in recent weeks via Instagram on Friday (Jan. 6).
The “Tickets to My Downfall” singer took to the social media app to share a series of photos and videos of his furry friends.
“New gang members: Tickets & Na’avi,” the rockstar captioned the posts, which showed the kittens — one very young with curly fur, the other slightly older with eye-catching bengal-patterned fur — interacting with his other cats, sometimes cuddling, sometimes hissing or playing as they grow accustomed to their new surroundings.
MGK last shared an update on his cat family last February after adding Whiskey to the cat pack, a move that sparked PETA to call him and fiancée Megan Fox out for owning a designer pet. The animal rights group plastered posters all over West Hollywood, Calif., depicting a cat in a cage with the caption “Megan Fox & Machine Gun Kelly: Why do you hate me?”
In a press release about the posters, PETA celebrity relations manager Matt Kilbourne wrote in a letter to the couple: “Congratulations on the engagement of twin flames and two halves of the same soul. But really, didn’t even half of the soul consider homeless cats, who number in the tens of thousands at animal shelters in L.A., before purchasing a purebred one? In addition to having Whiskey neutered, if you decide to add to your family again, can we please ask that you get a friend for him at one of L.A.’s shelters so that you can help ease the overpopulation problem rather than exacerbate it?” (MGK did not respond to PETA’s comments.)

Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly, released the title track from his semi-autobiographical movie Taurus on Wednesday (Nov. 23). The flick features MGK in the lead role under his birth name. The 32-year-old plays a troubled artist on the rise searching for the spark that will inspire his next record.

“Fighting with myself so I can’t help that I’m competitive/ This movie is my life but I still remain uncredited,” he raps on the track. “I don’t care how big I get, I still remain unedited/ I built this from the ground up, y’all just living it.”
The film, written and directed by Tim Sutton, also stars Kelly’s fiancée Megan Fox, as well as Maddie Hasson, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory, Ruby Rose, Scoot McNairy, Lil Tjay and “Glass House” collaborator Naomi Wild. It is currently available in select theaters and on demand.
On Sunday, MGK won favorite rock artist at the 2022 American Music Awards, saying during his acceptance speech: “There have been some people in the rock community who have called me a tourist, but they’re wrong. I’m a rocket man,” he proclaimed.
Additionally, he received his first Grammy nomination last week, earning a best rock album nod for Mainstream Sellout, which includes the singles “Maybe” and “Emo Girl” with Willow Smith. The album was his second straight to top the Billboard 200.

Machine Gun Kelly loves The Office just as much as you do — so much so that the “Papercuts” singer showed up to the 2022 AMAs red carpet on Sunday with Michael Scott’s “World’s Best Boss” mug (content unknown) and gushed about his love of the program while chatting with Billboard‘s correspondent kenzie.
After noticing MGK’s mug, kenzie asked the rock star who his favorite character on the show was, and he has such an appreciation of the show that he was unable to pick just one person. “I like Oscar, I like Kevin, I like Kelly, I like Erin, I like Andy, I like Dwight — I love Dwight — love Michael Scott, love Pam, love Jim. Pretty much who walked into that office, I love,” he said.
The conversation then pivoted to the recent release of Machine Gun Kelly’s latest movie, Taurus. In the semi-autobiographical film — which was released last week on Nov. 18 — Kelly plays the role of Cole, who according to the movie’s official synopsis is “a rising but troubled musician [who] searches for the inspiration to record his next song, pushing himself deep into the void.”
When asked what it was like filming the movie, which also stars his fiancée Megan Fox as Mae, his ex-wife in the film, MGK said it was quite “depressing.” Why? “You should watch the movie.”

“Do you think rock stars are special people?” That’s the question that kicks off the trailer for Taurus, the upcoming music industry drama starring Machine Gun Kelly.
In the video, released Thursday (Oct. 27), the musician otherwise known as Colson Baker plays Cole, a depressed musician on the verge of self-destructing amid his seemingly glamorous L.A. lifestyle. As the events of the trailer get increasingly bleak, Kelly’s character begins writing new music. “I want it to sound far from everything,” he says while seated at the piano with a female collaborator. “Like everything’s upside down.”
The untitled song that then plays over the second half of the trailer finds the Mainstream Sellout singer intoning, “Life imitates art/ Bury me alive/ Disappear underground where they found me/ Before I ever had this career.”
Written and directed by Tim Sutton, Taurus also stars MGK’s real-life fiancée Megan Fox as well as Maddie Hasson, Scoot McNairy and Ruby Rose and will feature a soundtrack of new music by Kelly. The trailer didn’t offer a concrete release date for the flick.
The pop-punk rocker’s previous film roles include 2021’s Midnight in the Switchgrass and 2019 Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt, in which he played Tommy Lee.
Earlier this month, MGK wrapped up the European leg of his Mainstream Sellout Tour with a show in Amsterdam. This December, he’s slated to play at Tampa, Fla.’s MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre before hitting the stage at Audacy Beach Festival 2022 in Fort Lauderdale.
