So…
Do y’all remember the episode of Atlanta when Earn thought it was a good idea to enter a footrace against ex-NFL star Michael Vick only to realize that it was, well, not a good idea? Well, apparently, Kevin Hart either didn’t see that episode or didn’t learn anything from it.

And things turned out much worse for Kev.
“This is just a public service announcement because I know people may see me out and I don’t want you to be alarmed, but I’m in a wheelchair,” Hart said in a recent Instagram video. “Why? Because I tried to jump out there and do some young stuff.”

And what exactly was the “young stuff” the 44-year-old hurt himself doing? Apparently, he tried to race former New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley, who is 10 years Hart’s junior (and also a former professional athlete who literally ran for a living).
While attempting to run a 40-yard dash against Ridley, Hart reportedly tore his lower abdomen and abductors. Hart, of course, put his injury more on his age than he did the fact that he was trying to race a former NFL running back. (I mean, it’s right there in the name, people! RUNNING back!)
“Ladies and gentlemen, the age 40 is real…it’s not a game,” Hart said. “Respect that age—or that age will make you respect it. I was just forced to respect it…I tried to go out there and do some young man stuff and I was told to sit my ass down.”
Yeah, we get it, Kevin. You work out a lot and keep yourself in pretty good shape for a man in your mid-40s. Still, maybe set your sights a little lower next time. Be less physically ambitious. Race one of your age-appropriate friends who are not pro athletes.
At least Hart’s celeb friends are showing their support.
From HuffPost:
Hart joked that he at least beat his 34-year-old opponent to the punch by getting “this story out there before” him, and has already received a ton of support in the comments from Will Smith, Tracee Ellis Ross and frequent co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“I tore my abductor off my pelvis during a wrestling match,” wrote the former wrestler, who apparently suffered the same injuries during a 2013 match. “True story. You’ll be fine. You’ll grow a 3rd ball but you’ll be fine. Heal up.”
Yes, heal up, sir. And don’t do that again.

Charlamagne Tha God revealed to Kevin Hart that renowned author Judy Blume was his “ultimate dream interview” recently while on a podcast.
The media personality was a recent guest on the newest episode of the Gold Minds with Kevin Hart podcast series, which is a joint collaboration between SiriusXM and Hart’s media company, Hartbeat. As they spoke, The Breakfast Club host spoke highly of the well-regarded young adult author,
“I just did one [interview] that will be coming out real soon and it was with somebody who absolutely, positively has shaped my life from afar, just being a fan of their work and I cannot wait for that conversation comes out,” Charlamagne began. “I might as well tell you who it is…It’s with Judy Blume!” He explained: “I love Judy Blume because my mom was an English teacher and she would always tell me to read things that don’t pertain to me. So when I would go to the library, I’d see these books with these little white boys and white girls on the front and I’m like, well that’s nothing like my life so I would read all of her work and I fell in love with her.”
Both men also spoke about Charlamagne’s own personal evolution, with Hart and the media personality joking about his time with Wendy Williams beforehand. “How do you personally feel about your progression to this point? Is it surreal to you, or is it expected?” Hart asked. “It’s still surreal. My mother gave me a piece of advice nine, ten years ago that I still hold onto – ‘just be happy you’re making a living.”, Charlamagne responded.
The two also discussed the growth of The Breakfast Club to becoming a significant platform for the culture in recent years, with Hart noting how he would make it a point with his team to ensure that any time he went to New York City, he would be booked on the show. “I can say that I really started to look at you guys like “wow” when I saw how you went into the political stuff,” the comedian said.
The Gold Minds with Kevin Hart podcast is available now on all podcast platforms.
Nick Cannon updated fans on the status of Jamie Foxx‘s recovery on Wednesday (May 3) amid the actor’s hospitalization for an undisclosed medical issue.
Speaking on his new AMP radio show The Daily Cannon, the host confirmed that he’ll be filling Foxx’s shoes on the set of the FOX game show Beat Shazam, and reflected on their friendship.
“I gotta tell you, there would be no Nick Cannon if it wasn’t for Jamie Foxx,” Cannon said. “I love this brother and in a real family-type way, man. He looked out for me when I didn’t have a place to sleep as a teenager. This brother let me sleep on his couch…It was good times and those good times will continue ’cause I am expecting that my brother is gonna just recover fully.”
Cannon’s statements came just one day after Foxx himself broke his silence to thank his fans and supporters via social media. “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” he shared in a brief Instagram post, and also used his Stories to specifically thank Cannon for taking over his hosting duties while he’s in the hospital.
Kevin Hart also spoke out about Foxx’s recovery on Wednesday (May 3) during an appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast Impaulsive, saying, “I think the dope thing is that he’s getting better in his situation, and everybody’s prayers, everybody’s love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt.”
He then went on to add: “I don’t know the details or the exact details as to what’s going on, but to my knowledge, there’s a lot of progression and a world of better. My love, synergy goes out to him. He’s needed, he’s necessary and I know he knows that. I know that he feels that because there’s been an outcry and outpour of support and I can only hope that it continues.”

Kevin Hart’s successful run on the African continent hit a major snag as he had to cancel his show in Egypt over the uproar of his “Afrocentric” comments on the nation’s history.
According to reports, the cancellation of Hart’s first-ever show slated for February 21st was announced by the local event management R Productions. “It is with a heavy heart that we share with you, due to local logistical issues, the cancellation of our Kevin Hart event scheduled for February 21st, in Cairo,” the statement read. But many observers note that it was the comedian’s alleged comments on the presence of Black people in Egypt’s ancient history which led to a swarm of comments on social media demanding the show’s cancellation.
The comments surfaced online during the month of December. “We must teach our children the true history of Black Africans when they were kings in Egypt and not just the era of slavery that is cemented by education in America,” he was reported to have said in December, adding “Do you remember the time when we were kings?” According to the Middle East-focused news site Al-Monitor, the source for the quotes hasn’t been found.
The reported comments drew huge criticism from people from Egypt and others of Arabic descent who accused Hart of “Blackwashing” their past or having a “BLM” agenda as expressed on R Productions’ Facebook page after the show’s cancellation announcement. Others have criticized Hart for his investment in the Black Sands Entertainment company, which produces comic books and other products including animated shorts with an Afrocentric theme. The situation also prompted racist tweets aimed at Hart, which were responded to in turn by those pointing to research pointing out the diversity found in unearthed mummies from the region.
To this point, Hart has enjoyed great success with comedy shows on his international tour, highlighted by a show in Pretoria, South Africa where he surprised the crowd by bringing out fellow comedian and South African native Trevor Noah. He also enjoyed a sold-out show in Saudi Arabia in recent days.
Kevin Hart is getting real about the dangers of fame.
The A-list comedian sat opposite mindfulness and lifestyle guru Jay Shetty for the newest episode of his podcast, On Purpose With Jay Shetty, and the two talked about an array of subjects including Hart’s relationship with his late father, building generational wealth and how Dave Chappelle’s example often inspired him and Chris Rock to step up their stand-up game.
Hart also spent a chunk of time sharing his perspective on the cult of celebrity. “The biggest drug. It’s not cocaine, it’s not heroin, it’s fame. Anything you want, everything you want, it’s a thing,” explained Hart. “And if you can’t handle this thing, the consequences attached are severe. Do you know you? And are you OK with you? If you are not, it’ll break you.”

It’s like a monster, he continued.
“My monsters have been masked in disguise in various different ways but I’ve been able to pinpoint them throughout the years because some of those monsters got stronger … developed. You’re talking about the world of an ego. The idea of who you think you are versus what you are or the idea of expectations and needs as to what you feel you need and what you have to have,” Hart told Shetty, who will soon release his new book, 8 Rules of Love — How to Find it, Keep it, and Let it Go, from Simon & Schuster on Jan. 31. “That’s a monster that’s feeding that engine of, well, now that I’m making money, this is what I should have, this is how I should look, this is how I’m supposed to be. That’s a monster that you’re feeding because ultimately you’re buying in.”
The conversation also saw Hart open up about his relationship to Chappelle and Rock, specifically how the former would set a standard on the stand-up stage that would force the others to rethink their sets.
“Dave Chappelle has made me and Chris Rock feel stupid at times when it comes to our choice and material. We have watched Dave in our earlier stages of just working on our set. We would spend time at The Cellar and one would come and we would all go and Dave would go up and me and Chris had just went up and we were happy about our material,” he explained. “There’s been times where we have looked at each other and we balled our papers up and said, ‘We gotta start over, we gotta start over.’ Not because of jealousy or envy. Because we challenge each other. We want the best for not only each other, but for ourselves.”
All three have achieved massive success and Hart said he’s now focused on leaving a piece of the pie for his children. “We just got a shot at something different. We got a shot at generational wealth. We got a shot at changing the ‘trajectory’ within our culture of opportunity. We got a shot to make this normal. Once again, I’m looking past me. I’m looking at the bigger piece to the plan.”
