President Donald Trump has been taking jabs at Democratic Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett, claiming that they were “low IQ” and couldn’t pass a cognitive test he boasted about passing with exemplary marks. Late night host Jimmy Kimmel caught wind of Trump’s remarks and mocked the president, with Crockett joining in.
Trump spoke about the test (he took a similar one in 2020), which was administered at Walter Reed Medical Center, telling reporters in the clip Kimmel showed to his audience, “You give [Ocasio-Cortez] an IQ test. Have her pass the exams that I decided to take. Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump.” In his monologue, Kimmel said after, “I agree. It sounds like a challenge.”
He continued, “Not only do I want to see this contest happen, I want to make it happen… I want to give our brilliant, bigly brained president a chance to teach those left-wing lightweights a thing or two about brain power live on national television.” Kimmel called the test “The James C. Kimmel Cognitive Aptitude and Mental Brilliance Invitational,” and brought on the representative from Texas via video call.
When Kimmel asked if she heard the comments, Crockett confirmed that she did.“I know that he can’t seem to find himself in the Oval Office to make sure that he can end this shutdown, but he does have time to troll me. So, listen: If he’s down, I’m down,” she said. She also called out Trump’s pattern when using “low IQ” as an insult: “They tend to be women, and they tend to be women of color.” Kimmel then went on to make fun of the test’s supposed complexity, asking Crockett basic questions of identification like holding up a picture of an elephant and asking her if she knew what it was. When she answered correctly, he joked, “Wow, you’re going to crush this.”
The test Trump refers to is actually a variation of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. The MoCA Test is usually ten minutes long, and is designed to identify signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s in a person. ““It’s a very, very low bar for somebody who carries the nuclear launch codes in their pocket to pass and certainly nothing to brag about,” said Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist and George Washington School of Health and Medicine professor said in an interview last year.

When Kimmel asked if the Grand National Tour would resemble their Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance, the “Saturn” singer teased that fans can expect something entirely new.
“Oh, we’re doing a new thing,” she said. “We’re both just kind of throwing all the paint at the wall… This is our first stadium show for both of us, so we pretty much have to go insane.”
While SZA and Lamar might be co-headlining, she hinted that the Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers rapper is very much in his own lane.
“Well, he’s a wizard, so that’s different,” she quipped when asked if they hang out behind the scenes. “Wizards tend to be solitary beings, from my observation… I think he’s doing the Merlin thing backstage, getting us ready to take off.”
The “Kill Bill” singer also fielded a not-so-subtle question from Kimmel about the tour’s upcoming Toronto stop—where one particular rapper famously resides.
“But what if you-know-who shows up?” Kimmel asked, clearly alluding to Canadian rapper, Drake.
SZA simply shrugged: “Who knows? Who knows?” before Kimmel joked that Kendrick would “wave his wand, and he will disappear.”
“That’s what he’s the man behind the curtain,” she replied.
Beyond the tour, SZA also gushed to Kimmel about a lifelong dream coming true—appearing on Sesame Street.
“That was actually the most intense room of celebrities I’ve ever been in,” she joked. “Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch… I got to talk to Cookie Monster.”
When Kimmel asked about the blue monster’s conversational skills, she laughed: “Terrible diction and alliteration. Very poor vocabulary, but tons of enthusiasm, I was so inspired!”
“It was like a true indicator that I’ve made it,” SZA added of her appearance on the show. “Shout out to the Super Bowl but Sesame Street..”
The Grand National Tour kicks off April 19 in Minneapolis, with stops across North America before heading overseas.
Jimmy Kimmel is calling out Kanye West after the rappers string of hate speech over the past week. Donald Trump had plenty to say about Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscars hosting—but the comedian had the last laugh, responding in real-time.
On Sunday night (March 10) the 96th Academy Awards were coming to a close. Comedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel served as the host of the grand event at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and he began to thank the audience. “This show is not about me, and I appreciate you having me. It’s really about you, and Emma, and all these great actors and actresses and filmmakers, but I was told we had like an extra minute, and I’m really proud of something, and I was wondering if I could share it with you. I just got a review and ummm…,” Kimmel said before reading a Truth Social post from former President Donald Trump about him.
“Has there ever been a worse host than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” the post said. “His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous. Blah. Blah. Blah. Make America Great Again.” Kimmel paused as the crowd laughed. “See if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social. Anyone? No? Well thank you President Trump. Thank you for watching. I’m surprised you’re still up. Isn’t it past your jail time?”, Kimmel retorted. The Oscars crowd broke into heavy laughter and applause after Kimmel’s jab.
Kimmel revealed that he had been advised not to read Trump’s post on Truth Social during an interview with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Monday morning (March 11). “They’re like, ‘You’ve got a little bit of time’ and I was like, ‘I’m reading the Trump tweet,’ and they’re like, ‘No, no, don’t read that,’” he said. He didn’t specify the person in particular who told him that he couldn’t read the post, but Kimmel replied: “[I was like] ‘Yes I am.’”
It’s not the first time that Kimmel has verbally smacked down the former president concerning the Oscars. Back in 2018, Trump posted “Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY,” the morning after that year’s show on Twitter, also hosted by Kimmel. “Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore – except your President (just kidding, of course)!” Kimmel fired back: “Thanks, lowest-rated President in HISTORY. “
