Remember when these two were couple goals? We don’t either. The drama in the ongoing divorce proceedings continues; allegedly, Iman Shumpert is not raking in the dough and wants his child support payments reduced.
TMZ exclusively reports that Iman Shumpert claims his funds are not on par with those of his ex-wife, Teyana Taylor.
According to court documents obtained by the celebrity gossip website, the former NBA hooper discussed the couple’s finances, and he said TT got it, and he doesn’t.
Per TMZ:
According to Iman’s accounting, Teyana’s gross monthly income before taxes is $93,885 … nearly double the $47,981 he says he brings home every month.
The alleged pay gap here is interesting … remember, when Teyana quietly filed for divorce she claimed Iman was insecure and jealous of her fame, despite earning way more in NBA money than she could ever dream of making in music.
Iman earned over $48 million in NBA contracts during his career … but he hasn’t played pro ball since the 2021 season, when he played 2 games with the Brooklyn Nets.
The gossip site reports that Shumpert is “comfortably” paying $8,000 monthly in child support for the former couple’s two children.
Shumpert will continue to pay health insurance for “major” medical expenses but wants Taylor to chip in for other health services their children will require.
Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert’s Divorce Woes
Since shocking the world with the announcement of their separation, something the singer/actor blames Shumpert for making public, the couple has been battling over finances.
Taylor has accused The Chi star and Dancing With The Stars winner of leaving her with $200K worth of home renovations, which he began three years ago.
The “Rose In Harlem” singer also claims Shumpert withdrew nearly $4 million from several of the couple’s accounts.
Damn.
We hope these two can figure it all out for the sake of their kids.

Teyana Taylor has had enough of TMZ being in her business.
The extremely talented multi-hyphenate took to Instagram to call out the celebrity gossip site following a recent report on her pending divorce from former NBA hooper Iman Shumpert, accusing them of dropping salacious headlines about the situation.
In a post on her IG Stories, Taylor wrote, “Yo @tmz, are you serious???? Y’all really be taking it too far with these d*mn misleading headlines and I’m tired of it! Every time I turn around it’s either half leaked and made up stories, or words being twisted up for clickbait!!!! I kindly ask you mothaf%ckas to mind ya damn business, and for y’all to respect me and my family’s privacy.”
Teyana Taylor’s clapback is seemingly in response to a report that her ex-husband was “playing dirty in their divorce war…slowly shutting down all the utilities in the home where she lives with their 2 children.”
The world found out the couple, whom many thought were “relationship goals,” were on the outs after Shumpert counter-filed using their real names. Taylor initially filed for divorce in 2023, just using their initials to keep the situation private.
Teyana Taylor Has Been Winning Despite The Alleged Divorce Shenanigans
This latest news comes on the heels of a great week of good news for Teyana Taylor. She was nominated for a NAACP Image Award for her performance in the film “A Thousand and One.”
She also announced that she and her The Aunties Production company have gotten the green light on the Dionne Warwick biopic that she will be starring in the lead role.
“Thank you for trusting me, @coco_gilbert And our production company @theauntiesinc with telling your iconic story! We are so excited to make you proud!” Taylor wrote in the post.

More dirty laundry is being aired out in the divorce proceedings between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert. She claims he would forget to feed the kids and used to be high around them.
People Magazine is reporting that the legal battle between the ex celebrity couple continues to get more intense. This week lawyers representing the femme fatal responded to the former National Basketball League player’s original filing. In the filing she claims Iman was very messy; to the detriment of their two kids saying he “consistently fails to properly care for the minor children”. Additionally, she alleges him of “failing to feed them despite being in the [marital residence] with the minor children” and “smoking marijuana and being under the influence while caring for the minor children.”
Even more damning is an incident where Teyana says Iman placed the kids in a taxi that took them to the United Center in Chicago and left them in general population while he was being chauffeured by a private driver. “Respondent consistently demonstrates a clear disregard for the safety of the minor children,” the filing adds.
The couple originally decided to part ways back in January 2023 but chose to finally reveal their status that September. Rumors of cheating quickly arose but she clarified that the decision was mutual. “To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Iman Shumpert has yet to publicly speak on the matter.

It seems Iman Shumpert did not stick to the script with regards to his divorce. Reports say Teyana Taylor is not happy he made it public.
According to TMZ the Harlem, New York native had intended to keep their legal separation as private as possible. But according to the celebrity gossip site the former National Basketball League star chose to declare their status which was the opposite of what Taylor had in mind. In January she aimed to keep their initial divorce proceedings secret; so much so she even signed the documents with just her initials to avoid the media picking up the story. While the K.T.S.E. performer has yet to comment on the matter her lawyer Tanya Mitchell makes it clear Shumpert exposed their situation.
“We were able to keep this divorce matter private as Ms. Taylor requested for eleven (11) months in this case prior to Mr. Shumpert’s MOTION revealing the parties’ legal names and making the private matter public” she wrote in a recent filing. “This matter would very likely still be private if Mr. Shumpert’s MOTION TO SUBSTITUTE TRUE LEGAL NAMES AS REAL PARTIES IN INTEREST was not filed …” she added.
Last week more details behind their split were uncovered with Teyana accusing Iman of some very toxic behavior including being jealous of her career. To the point she “began to intentionally dim her light for her husband to try to have a harmonious and peaceful marriage” as he “became more and more angry” about her celebrity. She also claims she stuck with him through all the ups and downs but he still “reacted with further cruel treatment and selfishness.”
The estranged couple were married in 2016 and have two children together. Teyana is seeking primary custody along with child support.
