Gucci Mane is an artist who will use moments in pop culture to inform the direction of his music, most recently seen with his “Woppenheimer” single in 2023. The rapper and author referenced a particular moment that’s rocking the culture regarding Diddy with the drop of his new “TakeDat (No Diddy)” track.
Gucci Mane, 44, dropped “TakeDat (No Diddy)” on Wednesday (April 24) with production from TP808 and TPerc. The song is largely Big Guwop chanting “No Diddy” at the end of his hook and bars.
More from “TakeDat”:
I got a young Miami b*tch from the cityI’m spendin’ money like a trick, no DiddyI rock pissy yellow diamonds, no DiddyBut she can’t be underage, no Diddy (Ugh)Extendo with a switch, no DiddyFolks passin’ pills around like frisbeesAnd booby trap goin’ up on a WednesdayI’m in a bag, it’s a Monica LewinskyI’m f*ckin’ rappers’ baby mommas, no Diddy (Take that)I got these n*ggas in they feelings like Drizzy (Take that)
The early returns on the track have been cropping up on X, formerly Twitter, with some fans noticing where Gucci is attempting to take the direction of the song. The results so far appear to be mixed but we’ve got reactions from all sides, along with the track, down below.

Music management mogul Deb Antney is looking for the next queen of rap with a new reality competition series. ‘Deb’s House’ will feature eight up-and-coming female artists who move into a shared house to compete to become Antney’s next “rap protégé,” according to a report from Deadline.

The series will air on ALLBLK, which is part of the AMC Network. The announcement was made this week at the Television Critics Association panel.

“I envisioned a competition show that deviates from the norm—one centered around personal growth and self-competition,” Antney said in a statement. “Collaborating with (co-creator and co-EP) Rasheed to bring this vision to life has been an incredible journey. Witnessing the music industry veer away from artist development towards a focus on superficiality and explicit content prompted my desire to return to the core values of true lyricism and mentorship.”
She added, “The search for the next female rap sensation in Deb’s House is my way of reigniting that passion. The selection of our show as ALLBLK’s first commissioned competition reality series is truly thrilling. My sincere appreciation goes to my AMC Networks family, particularly Brett Dismuke, for their steadfast belief in this transformative project.”
This isn’t Antney’s first time on reality tv. She and her son, Waka Flocka Flame appeared on two WETv series, Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta, Waka & Tammy.
Antney has managed several iconic rap stars including Gucci Mane, French Montana and Nicki Minaj.
Brett Dismuke, head of content for ALLBLK and WETv said in a statement that “Ms. Deb is a pioneer and influential voice across the music industry who has discovered, established, and guided the careers of some of hip-hop’s most prolific and successful artists.”
He added, “We cannot wait for our ALLBLK audience to join the search and ultimately see who Ms. Deb crowns as the next iconic female MC.”

Gucci Mane gets candid about his career and talks about not being in “a healthy place” when getting his face tattoo years ago.
As Gucci Mane is in the middle of doing promotions for his new album, Breath of Fresh Air, he sat down as a guest on The Morning Hustle radio show to talk about the state of self-reflection working on the album he experienced. In the conversation, he was asked if he would take credit for the current trend of rappers getting facial tattoos similar to his. “I wouldn’t take credit for starting the trend, but I think I definitely made people think it was something cool to do,” he said.

Gucci Mane elaborated on that statement. “I was going through something when I did it. If I could do it over again, I probably wouldn’t have [done] it.  He acknowledged he was dealing with a lot mentally, but has no regrets over the ice cream tattoo, which he got in 2011 and set the Internet ablaze. “People don’t know the backstory to that. I wasn’t in a healthy place at the time. That was just a sporadic thing I did.”
The “So Icy” rapper did talk about the regrets he did have, mainly his beefs with other artists. “There’s a couple things I regret doing that I see people think I think is cool, some things I said or did,” he began. “[I] disrespected people and I’m like, ‘Damn.’ I look back on that now that I’m mature and I look down like this s— ain’t even … I wouldn’t handle it like that.” He recently squashed a long-standing beef with T.I., and was recently honored by the city of Atlanta with his own day earlier in October.
Gucci Mane was also asked how he’s been maintaining his cool and avoiding trouble since pleading guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm while being a convicted felon in 2014. “Just focusing on … the job, my freedom, my family, and knowing it could be taken away from me,” he told the Morning Hustle hosts. “It ain’t too far removed from my mind sitting in the cell, and how nasty it was. You know I don’t want to go back.”

Two of Atlanta’s biggest names have put their issues behind them. Gucci Mane and T.I. have settled their beef live on stage.

Complex is reporting that the two trappers turned rappers are now on better terms. On Tuesday, October 17 Guwop hosted a show in Atlanta to celebrate the release of his newest album Breath of Fresh Air. During the concert attendees were treated to surprise appearances from the likes of Latto, Quavo of The Migos, Key Glock and more. The most memorable moment was when Gucci Mane brought out T.I. and the two shook hands. The Grand Hustle CEO proceeded to perform his hit “24s” to the delight of the crowd while the self-proclaimed Trap God stepped back.

The two have not been on the best of terms since 2012 when Gucci Mane took exception to T.I.’s friendship with his then bitter rival Jeezy. He took some shots aimed at the Snowman on “The Truth” and later tweeted “No Disrespect to Clay but if Tip wanna get into it he can.” Years later they would disagree about who invented the Trap music genre. “Ok,so…. AGAIN for the slow ones in the back… August 19th,2003 Birth of Trap Muzik & Only fools dispute facts!!!” T.I. wrote at the time. “OH wit that Christopher Columbus ass… ‘Look what I discovered, even though they was already here ass sh*t!!!!’ WITCHO GOOD CAPPIN ASS.”

It’s a girl for Mr. and Mrs. Davis.

Gucci Mane and his model/entrepreneur wife Keyshia Ka’oir have welcomed their second child together–a little girl named Iceland Ka’oir Davis.
“Im so thankful that my baby girl is here and she so pretty and healthy,” the proud dad shared on Instagram Thursday.
“Our little princess is here!” gushed the proud mommy in a post of her own. “Beautiful & Healthy!”
Gucci shared that the baby girl weighed in at 7 pounds and 2 ounces.

The couple had a little boy together, Ice Davis, two years ago and announced their most recent pregnancy by declaring that the toddler needed a playmate.

Per Page Six, Gucci and Keyshia got engaged in November 2016, tied the knot in October 2017 and welcomed Ice in December 2020. However, their relationship goes back more than a decade.
In his autobiography, Gucci wrote that he fell in love with Keyshia at first sight in 2010. “I had Keyshia, my first real love. The first woman I ever wanted to bring to a red carpet and let the world know this was my lady,” he writes. “She held me down the whole time I was locked up and showed me what it means to have somebody you can truly count on. I wanted to be able to return the favor.”
In a Fader interview in 2017,  not long after Gucci was released from prison, Keyshia said of their relationship, “These days I often tell him, “We have to be on a schedule.” We don’t just lay in bed all morning until 12 or 1 o’clock. We get up for work in the morning at 9. We have business calls, we have emails, and we’re ready and alert. We work during the day, and at night we eat our dinner. Then we take a shower and we lay down. We have a normal life. Staying in the studio until 6 or 7 in the morning with everybody smoking and drinking, we don’t do that stuff. Because that becomes trouble. This is how we keep everything together: we stay focused.”
Fans and celebrity supporters of the couple shared messages of congratulations on the Instagram posts–including 2 Chainz and frequent collaborator Zaytoven.

A man associated with Big Scarr is claiming Gucci Mane did not pay for his funeral but the Trap God has come with receipts.

As spotted on XXL Magazine, Mr. Zone 6’s reputation came under heavy criticism over his late artist’s home going ceremony. The young talent accidently died from an alleged overdose Dec. 22, 2022. Immediately after his untimely passing, Gucci offered to pay for his funeral services in an effort to offer financial relief to his family. Last week, Quezz Ruthless, Scarr’s little brother, took to social media to allege that Gucci didn’t come through as he promised.

“Them people called your phone to see if you was gon’ pay for the funeral, you blocked them,” Quezz claimed. “That’s not real. On God, that’s not real. That ain’t straight…You trying to act all real. You posted Scarr, talking ’bout some ‘Love Live him.’ You aint’ do nothing.”
Ruthless also alleges that Gucci asked for the 1017 chains he gifted Scarr back. “You ain’t getting them chains back,” Quezz continued. “You can’t get them chains. It’s no way you getting them chains. It ain’t no way that’s happening. Come on, now. You tripping, cuz. Thought we was just gon’ let that go? No. It’s over with. You played. And we don’t need your money to pay for his funeral. He was gon’ get buried either way. It’s just the point that you supposed to be his CEO. And you supposed to be this, this and that, and you done lied like that. How do you even feel real with yourself?”

But it seems that Gucci did pay $20,000 for Scarr’s funeral. Shortly after Quezz’s rant Keyshia Ka’oir shared receipts of two $10,000 payments to the funeral home saying “PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO FUNERAL HOME! Leave my husband alone.” She also alleges that she and Gucci Mane sent flowers and did not receive a thank you from Scarr’s family. Scarr’s sister, Alexandra Woods, saw the receipts and downplayed their efforts saying “That 10K ain’t help with nothing but obituaries and flowers, boo,” on Instagram Live.

Gucci Mane has yet to formally respond.
