Gucci Mane has long earned the distinction of being completely tapped into what’s going on musically in the streets, culminating in success via his 1017 Records label. However, Gucci Mane is flipping the script and purging the entire roster but elected to keep Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano on board.
Taking to Instagram and featuring the 1017 Records honcho taking a quick drive, Gucci Mane essentially shared with his followers the impetus behind his decision to allow his artists to find new deals. Gucci shared that after examining his profit and loss statements and other business factors, he felt it best to clean up shop and allow his current stable of artists to find new deals.
Over the years, Gucci Mane has had a hand in the careers of Waka Flocka Flame, Migos, Chief Keef, Asian Doll, OJ da Juiceman, Pee Wee Longway, and the late Enchanting among others. Gucci shared in the clip that he is still on the search for new artists and said he could have kept the roster intact but wanted to give them an opportunity to forge their own paths.

It’s pretty safe to say that the mixtape game isn’t what it used to be when artists and DJs were dropping classic projects in the ’90s and early 2000s, but that doesn’t mean us older heads don’t appreciate a good mixtape when one is presented to us.
That being said it looks like we’re in for a treat as Gucci Mane has announced that Friday (Aug. 16) he will be dropping off a new Gangsta Grillz mixtape hosted by the legendary DJ Drama. Dubbed The Greatest Of All Trappers, Gucci had previously teased the new project, which was originally said to be dropping in October with no indication that DJ Drama would be involved.
Now that he’s pushed up the release date by a couple of months and will have the iconic DJ by his side, fans are amped to see what Gucci’s been cooking in the kitchen and how much head nodding it will lead to.
While this isn’t the first Gucci Mane-Gangsta Grillz mixtape he’s done in his career, it is the first one in a hot minute, so y’all already know his day-one fans are counting down the hours to The Greatest Of All Trappers release.
Check out the announcement below, and let us know if you’ll be checking for The Greatest Of All Trappers Gangsta Grillz mixtape in the comments section.

Keyshia Ka’oir, the wife of Gucci Mane, is stepping up to defend her husband from online haters after the tragic passing of his former artist, the rapper Enchanting. With fans online suggesting that Gucci Mane is running a cursed record label, Keyshia Ka’oir put a stop to this and reminded the critics that Guwop only sought to aid the careers of the artists he’s signed over the years.
Gucci shared a post of Enchanting, 26, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry. Larry reportedly died from being taken off life support after suffering a drug overdose.
Gucci wrote, “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting” complete with crying and broken heart emojis. Fans on the post began replying with their unfounded theories that the 1017 label is cursed, noting how other former artists have fared negatively despite many of their hardships being self-induced or actions taken without their label chief’s guidance.
Keyshia Ka’oir, having enough of the attacks on her husband’s name, wrote, “Leave my husband alone! He signs these artist to help them & give them a better life! I wish it wasn’t like this ! Chant we love you baby girl ! RIH.”
Enchanting signed to 1017 in 2020 and was featured on three compilation albums before breaking out on her own in 2023. According to reports, the rapper’s management team was working with her to get clean from drugs.

Gucci Mane is an artist who will use moments in pop culture to inform the direction of his music, most recently seen with his “Woppenheimer” single in 2023. The rapper and author referenced a particular moment that’s rocking the culture regarding Diddy with the drop of his new “TakeDat (No Diddy)” track.
Gucci Mane, 44, dropped “TakeDat (No Diddy)” on Wednesday (April 24) with production from TP808 and TPerc. The song is largely Big Guwop chanting “No Diddy” at the end of his hook and bars.
More from “TakeDat”:

Music management mogul Deb Antney is looking for the next queen of rap with a new reality competition series. ‘Deb’s House’ will feature eight up-and-coming female artists who move into a shared house to compete to become Antney’s next “rap protégé,” according to a report from Deadline.
The series will air on ALLBLK, which is part of the AMC Network. The announcement was made this week at the Television Critics Association panel.
“I envisioned a competition show that deviates from the norm—one centered around personal growth and self-competition,” Antney said in a statement. “Collaborating with (co-creator and co-EP) Rasheed to bring this vision to life has been an incredible journey. Witnessing the music industry veer away from artist development towards a focus on superficiality and explicit content prompted my desire to return to the core values of true lyricism and mentorship.”
She added, “The search for the next female rap sensation in Deb’s House is my way of reigniting that passion. The selection of our show as ALLBLK’s first commissioned competition reality series is truly thrilling. My sincere appreciation goes to my AMC Networks family, particularly Brett Dismuke, for their steadfast belief in this transformative project.”
This isn’t Antney’s first time on reality tv. She and her son, Waka Flocka Flame appeared on two WETv series, Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta, Waka & Tammy.
Antney has managed several iconic rap stars including Gucci Mane, French Montana and Nicki Minaj.
Brett Dismuke, head of content for ALLBLK and WETv said in a statement that “Ms. Deb is a pioneer and influential voice across the music industry who has discovered, established, and guided the careers of some of hip-hop’s most prolific and successful artists.”
He added, “We cannot wait for our ALLBLK audience to join the search and ultimately see who Ms. Deb crowns as the next iconic female MC.”

Gucci Mane gets candid about his career and talks about not being in “a healthy place” when getting his face tattoo years ago.
As Gucci Mane is in the middle of doing promotions for his new album, Breath of Fresh Air, he sat down as a guest on The Morning Hustle radio show to talk about the state of self-reflection working on the album he experienced. In the conversation, he was asked if he would take credit for the current trend of rappers getting facial tattoos similar to his. “I wouldn’t take credit for starting the trend, but I think I definitely made people think it was something cool to do,” he said.
Gucci Mane elaborated on that statement. “I was going through something when I did it. If I could do it over again, I probably wouldn’t have [done] it. He acknowledged he was dealing with a lot mentally, but has no regrets over the ice cream tattoo, which he got in 2011 and set the Internet ablaze. “People don’t know the backstory to that. I wasn’t in a healthy place at the time. That was just a sporadic thing I did.”
The “So Icy” rapper did talk about the regrets he did have, mainly his beefs with other artists. “There’s a couple things I regret doing that I see people think I think is cool, some things I said or did,” he began. “[I] disrespected people and I’m like, ‘Damn.’ I look back on that now that I’m mature and I look down like this s— ain’t even … I wouldn’t handle it like that.” He recently squashed a long-standing beef with T.I., and was recently honored by the city of Atlanta with his own day earlier in October.
Gucci Mane was also asked how he’s been maintaining his cool and avoiding trouble since pleading guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm while being a convicted felon in 2014. “Just focusing on … the job, my freedom, my family, and knowing it could be taken away from me,” he told the Morning Hustle hosts. “It ain’t too far removed from my mind sitting in the cell, and how nasty it was. You know I don’t want to go back.”

Two of Atlanta’s biggest names have put their issues behind them. Gucci Mane and T.I. have settled their beef live on stage.
Complex is reporting that the two trappers turned rappers are now on better terms. On Tuesday, October 17 Guwop hosted a show in Atlanta to celebrate the release of his newest album Breath of Fresh Air. During the concert attendees were treated to surprise appearances from the likes of Latto, Quavo of The Migos, Key Glock and more. The most memorable moment was when Gucci Mane brought out T.I. and the two shook hands. The Grand Hustle CEO proceeded to perform his hit “24s” to the delight of the crowd while the self-proclaimed Trap God stepped back.

The two have not been on the best of terms since 2012 when Gucci Mane took exception to T.I.’s friendship with his then bitter rival Jeezy. He took some shots aimed at the Snowman on “The Truth” and later tweeted “No Disrespect to Clay but if Tip wanna get into it he can.” Years later they would disagree about who invented the Trap music genre. “Ok,so…. AGAIN for the slow ones in the back… August 19th,2003 Birth of Trap Muzik & Only fools dispute facts!!!” T.I. wrote at the time. “OH wit that Christopher Columbus ass… ‘Look what I discovered, even though they was already here ass sh*t!!!!’ WITCHO GOOD CAPPIN ASS.”

The couple had a little boy together, Ice Davis, two years ago and announced their most recent pregnancy by declaring that the toddler needed a playmate.
Per Page Six, Gucci and Keyshia got engaged in November 2016, tied the knot in October 2017 and welcomed Ice in December 2020. However, their relationship goes back more than a decade.
In his autobiography, Gucci wrote that he fell in love with Keyshia at first sight in 2010. “I had Keyshia, my first real love. The first woman I ever wanted to bring to a red carpet and let the world know this was my lady,” he writes. “She held me down the whole time I was locked up and showed me what it means to have somebody you can truly count on. I wanted to be able to return the favor.”
In a Fader interview in 2017, not long after Gucci was released from prison, Keyshia said of their relationship, “These days I often tell him, “We have to be on a schedule.” We don’t just lay in bed all morning until 12 or 1 o’clock. We get up for work in the morning at 9. We have business calls, we have emails, and we’re ready and alert. We work during the day, and at night we eat our dinner. Then we take a shower and we lay down. We have a normal life. Staying in the studio until 6 or 7 in the morning with everybody smoking and drinking, we don’t do that stuff. Because that becomes trouble. This is how we keep everything together: we stay focused.”
Fans and celebrity supporters of the couple shared messages of congratulations on the Instagram posts–including 2 Chainz and frequent collaborator Zaytoven.

A man associated with Big Scarr is claiming Gucci Mane did not pay for his funeral but the Trap God has come with receipts.
As spotted on XXL Magazine, Mr. Zone 6’s reputation came under heavy criticism over his late artist’s home going ceremony. The young talent accidently died from an alleged overdose Dec. 22, 2022. Immediately after his untimely passing, Gucci offered to pay for his funeral services in an effort to offer financial relief to his family. Last week, Quezz Ruthless, Scarr’s little brother, took to social media to allege that Gucci didn’t come through as he promised.

“Them people called your phone to see if you was gon’ pay for the funeral, you blocked them,” Quezz claimed. “That’s not real. On God, that’s not real. That ain’t straight…You trying to act all real. You posted Scarr, talking ’bout some ‘Love Live him.’ You aint’ do nothing.”
Ruthless also alleges that Gucci asked for the 1017 chains he gifted Scarr back. “You ain’t getting them chains back,” Quezz continued. “You can’t get them chains. It’s no way you getting them chains. It ain’t no way that’s happening. Come on, now. You tripping, cuz. Thought we was just gon’ let that go? No. It’s over with. You played. And we don’t need your money to pay for his funeral. He was gon’ get buried either way. It’s just the point that you supposed to be his CEO. And you supposed to be this, this and that, and you done lied like that. How do you even feel real with yourself?”
But it seems that Gucci did pay $20,000 for Scarr’s funeral. Shortly after Quezz’s rant Keyshia Ka’oir shared receipts of two $10,000 payments to the funeral home saying “PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO FUNERAL HOME! Leave my husband alone.” She also alleges that she and Gucci Mane sent flowers and did not receive a thank you from Scarr’s family. Scarr’s sister, Alexandra Woods, saw the receipts and downplayed their efforts saying “That 10K ain’t help with nothing but obituaries and flowers, boo,” on Instagram Live.
Gucci Mane has yet to formally respond.
