The NBA Playoffs are in full swing and many of the games have been nail-biting thrillers, to say the least. The New York Knicks, one of the marquee teams of the NBA, were thought to be favorites in their series against the Miami Heat but now find themselves down 3-1 in their seven-game series on Monday (May 8).
The drama in the Eastern Conference NBA Playoffs has been high with the Boston Celtics tied 2-2 in their best-of-seven series with the Philadelphia 76ers and in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets locked in a 2-2 series against the Phoenix Suns. Also last night, the Los Angeles Lakers went up 3-1 in their series against the defending champions, Golden State Warriors.
The Heat, which upset the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks, are continuing their winning ways on the back of the heroics of Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, and Bam Adebayo. The Knicks, led by the talented duo of Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson, are now scrambling from behind.
Last night in Miami, the Heat took down the Knicks 109-101 with Butler, back from an injury, scoring 27 points and dropping 10 assists and Adebayo pouring in 23 points and grabbing 13 boards. Brunson led all scorers with 32 points to go along with 11 assists and R.J. Barrett scored 24 points for the Knicks.
The Heat are down a man in their three-point specialist, Tyler Herro, who went down with a broken hand in the Bucks series. However, signs are pointing to the fact he may return but the Heat might not need him at this juncture. The series returns to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday (May 10) as the Knicks hope to salvage their NBA championship hopes.
On Twitter, folks are reacting to the eighth-seeded Heat putting on a clinic against the Knicks. We’ve got those reactions below.

Kanye West AKA Ye is slowly coming back around on the heels of an appearance at a recent Fear Of God runway show and a pop-up of his YEEZY SEASON 10 event. Fans are also noting that Kanye West is sporting a new look in the form of some booty-hugging leggings that are tighter than a turn off a highway exit.
Kanye West, 45, was spotted earlier this week on the West Coast in all-Black leggings and a new shoe design that appears to be socks. According to the chatter on the digital streets, the sock-shoe combo is a new creation Ye is hoping to get pushed.
Adding to this, West just opened a YEEZY office on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles next door to an adidas store. Could be an epic troll move, who knows? At this rate, the new YEEZY SEASON 10 drop didn’t bring about the usual excitement that West is known for regarding fashion trends.
Of Ye’s new look, the top half of what we’ve seen in photos trends towards the baggy, slouched look of the 1990s and early 2000s, but the pants are of extreme contrast in fit. It could be part of Ye’s push for out-the-box designs in fashion or, he just doesn’t care anymore. It could go either way with Kanye West.
On Twitter, reactions to Ye in those skin-tight family jewel huggers are cropping up and we’ve got the best of the bunch below.

Freddie Gibbs would probably like to have a relaxing Cinco de Mayo but instead, he’s the subject of ridicule after his ex-girlfriend The Fit Mami aired out some personal business. In a Twitter thread, the budding porn star detailed how Freddie Gibbs bagged her and then left her stranded with a baby on the way.
The relationship between Freddie Gibbs and The Fit Mami seemed as solid as any high-profile relationship but it appears things aren’t what they seemed. We’ll share some of the excerpts of the Twitter thread below.
“[S]o freddie and i met in 2020 when he slid into my DMs on instagram. and for the record, he always knew i did porn and was very supportive,” The Fit Mami said in the thread, adding, “after we made it official blogs started posting about us, we didn’t care we were just having fun.”
It continued with, “shortly after that it was time to go to europe. we went, we enjoyed it, everything was great. we would always talk about having a baby. none of it was one sided.”
It appears things went left after Freddie Gibbs was jumped by a group of men allegedly connected to Benny The Butcher as the former collaborators engaged in a beef.
“after we got back from europe his stateside tour started. everything was good until we got jumped in buffalo, ny. here’s me fighting looking thicc in the orange. freddie is in the back in the green,” The Fit Mami tweeted, complete with an image of her throwing hands.
Sadly, the incident left The Fit Mami mentally scarred and seeking medical assistance to deal with her anxiety. Further, she shared that one of Gibbs’ baby mothers reached out t her and attempted to shame her for not being a good mother to her own child.
Fast forward, Gibbs tells The Fit Mami he wasn’t looking to have another child at the moment and she was close to terminating the pregnancy but couldn’t go through with it. She then adds that after deciding to keep the child, she stopped paying the rapper’s phone bill after they broke up.
Again, it’s all a lot and we skipped a lot of details, which you can see in the thread below. As of this writing, Freddie Gibbs has yet to respond to any of this and Twitter is having a field day with the mess. Check out the reactions below.

Jordan Neely, a young Black homeless man who reportedly suffered a mental health episode while on a New York City subway train, was subdued by a passenger and eventually lost his life. Neely’s death was ruled a homicide as protestors continue to demand justice.
Neely, 30, was aboard an F train at the Broadway-Lafayette station when he allegedly threated passengers while standing. Another passenger, reportedly a U.S. Marine, grabbed Neely from behind with a rear-naked chokehold to subdue Neely as others looked on. From the little video footage we could bear to watch, Neely was effectively constrained by the Marine and two others posing no real threat but the Marine kept the deadly chokehold applied tightly and emergency response teams were unable to revive him.
As reported by local outlet ABC 7, protestors planned a protest outside of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for Thursday (May 4), adding to the growing cries of injustice and a common refrain that Neely’s death was indeed murder. The Marine, 24, was taken into custody and eventually released. Howwever, with the homicide ruling, charges could be pending for the Long Island resident.
As the news of Neely’s passing grew wide, most remembered him as a Michael Jackson imprsonator who held performances in and around the Times Square area. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was among the many public figures to speak out regarding Neely’s death and opened a tweet about the matter with, “Jordan Neely was murdered.”
The tweet was decried by New York Mayor Eric Adams, who said of Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez’s tweet, “I don’t think that’s very responsible at the time when we’re still investigating the situation.”
While Neely’s death was ruled a homicide, the Manhattan DA will need to file charges if the case is to move ahead.
New York City Comptroller Brad Lander has been especially vocal regarding Neely’s death, also incurring the criticism of Mayor Adams. However, Lander is refusing to back down.
Across social media, many are gathered in support of Jordan Neely and his family in their ongoing fight to find a legal resolution.

Lil Meech caused a bit of a stir online after a scene in his hit show, BMF, showed more than many previously knew about the rising actor. After Lil Meech and Summer Walker seemingly went Instagram public, folks on Twitter chimed in with their thoughts.
Lil Meech, the son of famed crime boss Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory Sr., and Summer Walker were seen in a series of photos and videos on the younger Flenory’s Instagram Story page. Meech, 23, put a bunch of heart eyes under a photo of Walker, 27, which features the talented vocalist wearing Meech’s huge BMF chain.
Eagle-eyed Twitter users appeared to have confirmed that the pair were a couple late last month but it could just be an overreaction on the part of observers. Meech framed the appearance of Walker on his IG Story feed as a social media takeover, so it could be in connection to an upcoming creative project for all we know.
That said, many online are convinced that the two are now an item especially after some sleuths were able to see a reflection of what appeared to be Meech in Walker’s glasses on a photo that surfaced in April.
Adding to this is proud industry mouf champion Celina Powell sharing a sex tape with her and Lil Meech doing some things in a public bathroom and she also reportedly posted an image of her wearing a BMF chain that was made in 2021, so the video we just mentioned probably isn’t recent. However, none of this is confirmed.
While some folks are just glad the relationship is somewhat confirmed, others are calling it a bad pairing. We’re just reporting the facts here and sharing the reactions, which you can view below.

Jerry Springer, an early leader in the tabloid talk show and unscripted television space, has reportedly died. Springer, a former mayor of Cincinnati in the 1970s, engaged in a decades-long career as a broadcaster and host up until last year.
Jerry Springer, born Gerald Norman Springer on February 13, 1944, in London, England. His parents resettled in America and Springer attended public school in Queens, N.Y. ahead of attending Tulane University en route to earning a law degree from Northwestern University. Early on, Springer worked in the legal field and was a partner of a Cincinnati law firm before engaging in a career in politics.
Springer was elected to the Cincinnati City Council in 1971 and stepped down in 1974 after admitting to soliciting a prostitute. However, his admittance won over the public and he was eventually reelected. Via a now-defunct political arrangement, Springer was elected to serve one year as mayor of the city by the council and entered into a failed bid for the governor’s seat in Ohio in the early 1980s.
From politics, Springer began his career as a television journalist, working for local station WLWT in Cincinnati. The network helped Springer establish his eponymously-named show, Jerry Springer, in 1991, which ran in syndication until 2018. The program proved to be popular once it shifted into having guests confront one another onstage, often coming to blows in the process before security would break up the fracas.
In 2015, Springer started The Jerry Springer Podcast, and in 2019, he also hosted the courtroom series Judge Jerry until it was canceled in 2022.
According to a family spokesperson, Springer died with his family nearby in his Chicago home. Springer was previously diagnosed with cancer according to a statement from the family.
On Twitter, the reactions to the death of Jerry Springer have the host’s name trending. We have those replies below.
Springer was 79.

Lil Baby and Khloé Kardashian became a hot topic of discussion this week after images of the pair surfaced online while dining out with others. Naturally, speculation that the pair are currently dating cropped up and some fans are warning Lil Baby of avoiding the so-called “Kardashian Curse.”
Lil Baby, 28, and Khloé Kardashian, 38, were seen in images posted by the social media account @HipHopTies, featuring the two dining with a group during a daytime gathering. In one image, the rapper born Dominique Jones is seen laughing and smiling at another patron across from him while Kardashian enjoys her meal. In another photo, the My Turn star is seen talking with Kardashian looking on.
Of course, dining out with other celebrities is something popular figures and entertainers often do without any hint of romantic involvement. Still, the pairing of Baby and Kardashian seemed to come out of left field for many observers. Further, it isn’t known how close the Atlanta artist is to the sprawling Kardashian empire or how long he’s been connected to the family.
The images gave rise to commentary from Twitter fans who think the photos suggest a close relationship that neither Baby nor Kardashian previously spoke about. The reactions on Twitter range from flat-out curiosity to grim warnings of getting away from the Kardashians.
We’ve got reactions from all sides below.

Pras, also known as Pras Michel of Fugees fame, found himself at the center of a global conspiracy case where it became assumed that the rapper became an informant to the FBI. While that fact is currently being debunked by Pras’ legal team, that hasn’t stopped Twitter from roasting his Fugees bandmates Wyclef Jean and Ms. Lauryn Hill with John Forte catching strays in the process.
Pras Michel was recently in Washington to take the stand in his federal conspiracy trial where he faces up to 22 years in prison for allegedly involving himself in a global money laundering scheme and working with a foreign nation to influence U.S. government matters.
Pras did admit on the stand that he spoke with FBI agents regarding his connection to Malaysian financier and fugitive, Jho Low.
After examining the case further, Michel is actually on trial because he took Low’s money to the tune of millions and reentered a portion of those funds into President Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign and then attempted to ask the Trump Administration to move away from investigating Kow and extradite Chinese businessman, Guo Wengui who was connected to former Trump ally, Steve Bannon.
Hip-Hop Wired also received a statement this week from Michel’s legal team correcting the perception that their client turned informant.
From the statement:
Simply stated, if Pras had been an informant for the government, he wouldn’t be on trial right now. The government does not prosecute and threaten its informants with more than two decades of jail time.
Pras never was an “informant” for the FBI.
Nothing could be further from the truth, and the reckless suggestion that he was an informant carries life-threatening implications in hip-hop circles.
During a portion of Pras’ nearly two days of testimony last week, Pras described from the stand a decision he made a handful of years ago to approach the FBI in regard to a narrow issue related to his wider case.
In law enforcement parlance, an “informant” is someone who works directly with an investigating law enforcement agency either to cut a deal for him or herself, or with the direct interests of that law enforcement agency as part of their own agenda.
As it stands, Twitter won’t care about all of that legal mumbo jumbo and is always hellbent on getting those jokes off. We’ve got some of them listed below.
