Candace Owens was trending on the X social media platform after making a statement aimed at the wife of the president of France. The controversial conservative pundit said that she would bet her career on the wife of President Emmanuel Macron being a man.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday (March 12), Candace Owens took shots at Brigette Macron, 70, the wife of President Macron, 46, who has been the target of a conspiracy that suggests Mrs. Macron is not a woman.
âAfter looking into this, I would stake my entire professional reputation on the fact that Brigitte Macron is in fact a man,â Owens shared on X. âAny journalist or publication that is trying to dismiss this plausibility is immediately identifiable as establishment. I have never seen anything like this in my life. The implications here are terrifying.â
As seen in Daily Mail, the claims around Mrs. Macron date back to 2021 when two women, a psychic and a freelance journalist, made the charge in a documentary. The outlet adds that the root of the rumor came from a false claim issued by Faits et Documents, a far-right publication just after President Macron was elected.
On Monday (March 11), Owens delved into the conspiracy at length on her podcast which was no doubt inspired by comments made by Tiphaine AuziĂšre, the daughter of Mrs. Macron and President Macronâs stepdaughter.
AuziĂšre spoke with the Paris Match outlet to discuss the claims that her mother was born male. Adding to this, AuziĂšre shared that she was just 10 years old to learn that her mother was involved with a student who was 25 years her junior.
Owens added at the end of her Tuesday tweet that she doesnât intend to stop investigating the angle and called on other journalists to do the same.
On X, Candace Owens and her comments caused some commotion. Weâve got the reactions below.

Don Lemon was slated to have a new talk show in partnership with the X platform but after an interview described as tense, those plans are no more. The veteran journalist shared a statement on X stating that the company owned by Elon Musk will not be going forward with the planned show.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Don Lemon, 58, shared his side of the interview he held with Musk last Friday that was presumably meant to be the first episode of the show. During the chat, Lemon says that the conversation took some turns and said that it was Musk himself who encouraged him to bring his show to the platform.
âWe had a good conversation. Clearly he felt differently,â Lemon said in a portion of his statement. âHis commitment to a global town square where all questions can be asked and all ideas can be shared seems not to include questions of him from people like me.â
Lemon added, âThere were no restrictions on the interview that he willingly agreed to, and my questions were respectful and wide ranging, covering everything from SpaceX to the presidential election.â
While Musk did comment on X in response to Lemonâs statement, the corporate account for the platform had a more pointed response.
âThe Don Lemon Show is welcome to publish its content on X, without censorship, as we believe in providing a platform for creators to scale their work and connect with new communities,â the account shared. âHowever, like any enterprise, we reserve the right to make decisions about our business partnerships, and after careful consideration, X decided not to enter into a commercial partnership with the show.â
Don Lemon says his new show will air on YouTube starting Monday, March 18, and will also air in full on X.
Weâve also got reactions from X to the happenings below.

Ice Spiceâs popularity these days remains to be sky high and she knows exactly how to keep her momentum going in 2024 and donât think for a second it has anything to do with her bars.
Using social media to keep her name buzzing and her fans salivating, Ice Spice shared some pretty sexy selfies on Snapchat (people still use that?!) and naturally had social media talking and thirsting at the same time. Ditching her customary fro for a more relaxed wig piece, Ice shared some pics of herself in some skimpy outfits from her collaboration with Alexander Wang and needless to say this was a helluva way to promote the new partnership.
Of course the pics garners tons of comments from fans expressing their love and admiration for the artist as she showcased all that her mama gave her.
Sidenote: Her mamaâs a baddy too. Just sayin.â
In an interview with Variety earlier this month, Alexander Wang expressed his excitement about working with the Bronx bombshell saying âIce Spice is such a powerhouse, a cultural touchstone, and a breath of fresh air. Her unapologetic energy magnifies the sharp and austere sensuality of Spring 2024 and leans into our brand codes on a deeper level.â
Check out some more of Ice Spiceâs collection below and let us know your thoughts on the Alexander Wang collection in the comments section.

Will Smith and The Oscars will forever be linked after the slapping incident heard around the world involving the actor and Chris Rock. However, some on X are wondering out loud why Will Smith is banned for his actions but John Cena going nude on the Oscars stage got to fly without a hitch.
In a bit with Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel, John Cena presented the nominees for the Best Costume Design award. Cenaâs state of undress was a callback to the 1974 Academy Awards ceremony where a naked streaker took to the stage.
Cena elected not to run across the stage but instead was naked save for covering the front of his privates with the nominee list. The award was given to Holly Waddington, who worked on the film, Poor Things.
While the moment was focused on being comedic at its root, it appears some on X are wondering how the academy heads let this fly and Smith was hit with a decade-long ban from the festivities.
There are also folks online calling the moment for Cena a âhumiliation ritualâ as a part of whatever phantom Hollywood cabalâs initiation practices. Weâll leave that one alone for all the reasons one can imagine.
As it stands, Will Smith is trending on X, formerly Twitter, and weâve got reactions to John Cenaâs moment below.

President Joe Biden delivered his latest State of The Union (SOTU)Â address on Thursday (March 7) and the reactions have come in. As expected, folks on one side are praising President Biden while the other side is taking shots and it appears to be split down party lines.
President Joe Biden delivered what many analysts and observers called an impassioned SOTU address, which appealed to Bidenâs base and sparked his detractors to make unfounded claims.
As past addresses have gone, the president is using the carefully orchestrated and televised moment to promote policies, rally the base, and do their best as the nationâs leader to call for collaboration and unity for the benefit of all.
It was another display of a lack of decorum and respect for Biden from Republican Party members in attendance, with some yelling out âliarâ and other jabs similar to the responses President Barack Obama endured during these addresses.
Biden made several mentions of former president Donald Trump, who will presumably be his opponent in the presidential election this fall. This garnered sounds of dissatisfaction from Trump supporters, most especially when Biden said Trump failed his presidential duty to âcare.â
At the top of the Democratic Partyâs list of political concerns is abortion rights, and Biden let off a zinger that also got negative reactions from the Republican throng.
âWith all due respect, justices, women are not without electoral or political power,â Biden said. âYouâre about to realize just how much.â
Biden was also pointed in his words about the U.S.-Mexico border situation, a highly politicized matter in the era of Trump. Also was the matter of the presidentâs age, all while noting Trump just four years younger.
Because of the energy shown by President Joe Biden during the SOTU address, some made wild claims on X, formerly Twitter, that the president used Adderall and narcotics to achieve the feat. Adderall began trending on the social media network and weâve got reactions under that trending topic and SOTU below.

Akira Toriyama, an influential figure in the world of anime and creator of the Dragon Ball franchise, died at the top of the month, according to reports. Akira Toriyama, who did not relish the limelight, was said to still be working on several projects up until the time of his sudden passing.
Akira Toriyama was born in the capital city of Nagoya of a prefecture, Aichi, in Japan on April 5, 1955, as explained in an Associated Press report. Toriyama said that Osamu Tezukaâs Astro Boy and other manga series popular in the 1960s informed his interest in drawing anime, and he was also fond of series such as Ultraman.
Toriyama published his first manga in 1978 with Wonder Island but it was his Dr. Slump series in 1980 that launched him into becoming a star of his world. In 1984, Toriyama began the first manga run for Dragon Ball, which ran until 1995. The series was then adapted into an anime television series in 1986 and ran until 1989. The anime series received a sequel Dragon Ball Z, running from 1989 to 1996.
Beyond Dragon Ball, Toriyama also designed characters for the popular Dragon Quest video game series as well. Dragon Ball inspired several toys and video games which influenced an entire generation of fans and still holds sway in many circles today. That was evidenced in the outpouring of admiration and respect for Toriyama after the news of his death was announced by his Bird Studio company on March 8.
Akira Toriyama is survived by his wife Yoshimi KatĆ, and their son and daughter. He was 68.

Couple all this with the artists who have formally entered the fashion […]

Chris Mortensen, a decorated sports journalist who worked as the NFL reporter for ESPN for over 30 years, passed away on Sunday (March 3) in the morning hours. The news about Chris Mortensen has since gone viral, sparking many on X, formerly Twitter, to share their condolences and memories.
As reported by several outlets, including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where he worked as a sports reporter, and ESPN, Chris Mortensen worked for ESPN for over three decades, becoming a part of the network in 1991. As it related to NFL coverage, Mortensen became a trusted voice in sports journalism, and he appeared across ESPN in various shows.

Kristen Welker, now some months into her hosting duties for political talk show Meet The Press, sparked the wrath of X users after making a statement about Donald Trump. Welker stated during the broadcast that Trump allegedly tried to overturn the November 2020 elections, causing the reporterâs name to trend on X with loads of commentary.
Kristen Welker was on Meet The Press on Sunday (March 3), with Republican Party presidential hopeful Nikki Haley and Democratic Party congresswoman Rep. Debbie Dingell as guests. During one segment, Welker explained that Trump allegedly attempted to overthrow the November 2020 election results, which the business mogul lost to President Joe Biden.
Almost immediately, Kristen Welker saw her name trending with users highlighting instances in which Trump denied the results and essentially egged on his supporters to express the same sentiment via the so-called âStop The Stealâ movement, which helped spark the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol that left five dead, more than 170 people injured, and lead to several arrests.
Of course, Welkerâs use of the phrase is proper in the legal context but the pushback largely stems from Trumpâs history and his brash public stance about what took place on that fated day on Jan. 6, 2021. As one X user noted, Welkerâs use of the word âallegedlyâ is properly used thus the outrage is somewhat misplaced.
Several of the replies on X, formerly Twitter, directly speak to the events around the insurrection as evidence that Donald Trump was attempting to switch the election results in his favor.
Weâve got all the reactions listed below.
