On Friday, March 10, at 2:30 pm CST, Audible is hosting a panel titled “Music-Storytelling with Audible: The Art of Marrying Song and Spoken Word” in the Austin Convention Center discussing Audible’s upcoming new singing competition podcast, Breakthrough. Rolling Stone’s Associate Managing Editor, Angie Martoccio, will be moderating the discussion featuring  Audible’s Executive Producer of Original Music Storytelling, Preston Copley, along with Breakthrough stars, GRAMMY-award-winning artist Sara Bareilles, and GRAMMY-and-Tony-award-winning actor Daveed Diggs.

After leaving the panel, Billboard suggests crossing the street to check out the Audible Sound Studio. Located in the Sunset Room, the Audible Sound Studio will serve as a mecca for all things music storytelling right in the heart of SXSW foot traffic, directly across from the Austin Convention Center.

Upon arrival, festival attendees will be greeted with a visually captivating mural on the exterior of the venue by local Austin muralist Zuzu, inspired by each of Audible’s original music storytelling series – Origins, Words + Music, and Breakthrough.

The journey begins with Origins, transporting audio enthusiasts inside the minds of Origins artists in a dream-like room. On-site, attendees will find a vibrant photo booth that brings the Origins identity to life, while the Origins x Ephemeral Tattoo Studio allows guests to select a made-to-fade tattoo, all while visitors can sample audio from the Audible Original.

The next space within the Audible Sound Studio highlights Audible’s longstanding Words + Music series bringing listeners unique music storytelling experiences from iconic musicians including Alanis Morisette, Jazmine Sullivan, Tariq Trotter, Smokey Robinson, St.Vincent, Gary Clark Jr., and many more, brought to life at SXSW through a vintage studio-inspired room featuring record store vibes, curated listening experiences, and unique photo moments. Fans can dig through the full catalog of Words + Music volumes on 12” vinyl records and listen to key moments and songs from their favorite artists. The space also encourages consumers to step inside a recording booth and have their very own SXSW memory live-pressed to a 7” vinyl record as a special keepsake; whether attendees choose to capture their own words and music is optional.

The final stop on the Audible Sound Studio music storytelling journey is Breakthrough, which celebrates the very first-of-its kind audio-only music competition. The Breakthrough-themed space gives SXSW attendees a peek behind the curtain of the musician’s creative process, and a first sample of Breakthrough with the debut of the Audible Original’s new trailer.

The Audible Sound Studio is open to SXSW badge holders from 12 pm – 6 pm CST on March 10-12.

Global C-pop singer and fashion icon Tia Lee (Lee Yu Fen) made waves at the coveted celebration of artistry, design, and all things fashion. In attendance at some of the hottest runway shows, Tia Lee turned heads in London with one showstopping outfit after another. The highlight of her time at LFW was the Julien Macdonald FW23 show, where she arrived in a stunning custom couture dress and cape, handpicked by the leading British fashion ace himself. The delicately tailored lace slip dress, paired with a flowing black chiffon cape came directly from the FW23 collection. She wore the dress with a pair of glittering heels from Gina and Jessica McCormack jewelry.

As the only celebrity personally selected by Julien Macdonald to wear a piece from the collection prior to its debut at the FW23 collection show, Tia joins an exclusive international list of celebrities to be dressed by the King of Glamour, including Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum, and Naomi Campbell.

“It was an absolute honor to meet Julien Macdonald in person and receive the gorgeous dress fresh off his latest collection. The intricate details are a testament to Julien’s passion for his craft, and I loved putting it on and watching a fabulous showcase of his latest work,” shared Tia after the show.

At Richard Quinn’s FW23, Tia wore an embroidered coat from his Spring 2023 collection, featuring blossoming floral embellishments with encrusted beads. The elegance of her outfit was further elevated by a teardrop-shaped headpiece from Victoria Grant, featuring exquisite beading and netting detail. The beaded theme continued to present itself on Tia’s black suede platform sandals from Jimmy Choo, topped off with elegant pearl earrings from Theo Fennell.

The global superstar also made an appearance at David Koma’s fashion show. Lee arrived in a shimmering silver two piece suit over a bomber and a pair of leather boots from his Spring 2023 collection.

Tia’s iconic video “Goodbye Princess” pays homage to the struggles of life, but ultimately showcases Tia’s determination to rise from the negativity, stereotypes, and bias being placed on her. In fact, it is even more iconic because the track is the first-ever Chinese song produced by Grammy-Award-winning producer Swizz Beatz, who has previously worked on mega-hits with music icons such as Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, and Madonna. Tia became the fastest artist to break 100 million views on YouTube within 20 days with a Chinese pop song.

Tia’s journey at London Fashion Week represents an opportunity for intercultural appreciation and a testament to Tia Lee’s ambition to redefine her role in the public limelight as someone who remains fiercely independent and true to herself. For more of Tia’s fashion escapades, follow her on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

Did anyone catch that Rihanna show when a football game broke out on either side of it? Wild stuff. But while the eyes of the world were on the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show, and the Eagles-Chiefs game that also happened alongside it, Billboard was backstage, on the field, on the concourses and under the stadium itself catching as much of the behind-the-scenes action as possible.

3:15: Jordin Sparks — who is from Arizona, and whose father, Phillippi, played nine years in the NFL for the Giants and Cowboys — stopped by the field to tell Billboard about the Rihanna songs she was most looking forward to seeing (“Wild Thoughts,” “Run This Town,” “Umbrella”) and her new single, “Stadiums.” “I grew up around sports and football, my dad played, so I know how important it is to have a good song to pump you up before you come out in these moments,” she said.

3:25: Isiah Pacheco came over to help pump up the Chiefs fans by the sideline ahead of the game — and would have probably been glad to have seen Paul Rudd wearing a Pacheco jersey on the sidelines, chatting it up with a small crew of people before the game got underway.

5:05: Jay-Z is in the house, Lil Uzi Vert is here and GloRilla just walked past Gate 2 on the main concourse of the stadium — but Chiefs fans also gave a huge cheer to Tech N9ne, a son of Kansas City who has made it a point to build an industry around himself in his hometown rather than move to a more industry-connected hip-hop center, when he was shown on the big screen.

5:25: Any fan who could pull themselves away from the action on the field could walk outside to see some two hundred people milling around wearing puffy canvas suits with black plastic drapes over their heads and shoulders, waiting for the call — and trying to hang onto their drapes as the wind began whipping around Glendale.

5:54: At the two minute warning of the first half, the big group of dancers moved inside the stadium and down a back causeway to the field level, where everyone gathered around the one TV on the wall to try to catch a glimpse of what was happening on the field — and whether or not Patrick Mahomes’ ankle was injured as badly as it seemed at the time. The final two minutes of the game took almost 30 minutes of real time — minutes that were spent pacing in the depths of the stadium without much else to do before the main show began.

6:22: It is hard to overstate just how high in the air Rihanna and her dancers were and how relatively small those platforms were. From the field level, it was absolutely terrifying how high they were — and with the noise of the crowd and the fireworks, not to mention the show itself, absolutely terrifying. But that’s why Rihanna is one of the best to do it.

6:41: Press was very quickly ushered off the field following the performance — and encountered the troupe of marshmallow-clad dancers in the back causeway once again. The dancers, understandably relieved and jubilant that it was over, got a big ovation from everybody who walked past. The dancers also got to take the escalators back up — a small but well-earned perk, as everyone else trudged up the ramps.

8:08: As the inevitable Mahomes gut punch closes in, Eagles fans around the concourse completed a remarkable 26-minute turnaround: from questioning the existence of religion itself, to pure elation at the excellence of Jalen Hurts, to utter, depressing despair. As they filed out of the stadium minutes later, one fan was heard lamenting about the Eagles performance, “Rihanna was better than everyone on the field except for [tight end Dalls] Goedert.”

The 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend is set to kick off Thursday, Feb. 16, as athletes, musicians and fans from across the country congregate in the mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah.

And while the focus of the weekend may be on all things basketball, there will be plenty of major musical events happening as well, with everyone from Travis Scott and Pitbull to G-Eazy, Saweetie and The Kid LAROI hitting the stage at venues all across downtown Salt Lake.

Scott partnered with host team the Utah Jazz to put together a two-day concert series at The Depot featuring Don Tolliver, Sheck Wes and other special artists who have yet to be announced, while the “Feel This Good” hitmaker, the “Me, Myself & I” and “Best Friend” rappers and the “Kids Are Growing Up (Part 1)” crooner have all been tapped to headline shows sponsored by the NBA.

From pre-game concerts and specially curated lineups to all the major happenings surrounding the actual All-Star Game on Sunday night (Feb. 19), Billboard has rounded up the information you need about each can’t-miss event going down in the 801 while the NBA is in town.

It’s officially a wrap on all the festivities surrounding music’s biggest night.
The 65th annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday night from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, and the ceremony itself — chock-full of showstopping performances, including Bad Bunny’s shimmy-worthy mambo and merengue fusion of “El Apagon” and “Después de la Playa,” a hits-filled medley with the biggest names in hip-hop over the past 50 years, and a team-up between Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Chris Stapleton to pay tribute to Motown — concluded with several surprises before its famous attendees jetted off to star-studded afterparties.
Samara Joy won best new artist and best jazz vocal album for her 2022 sophomore effort Linger Awhile. Naturally, the New York City native was all smiles when it came time to party, showing up at the Universal Music Group afterparty looking like the winner she is and posing for photos alongside the record label’s CEO Lucian Grange.
Kim Petras — who won the award for best pop duo/group performance for her and Sam Smith’s “Unholy” and became the first transgender winner in the category in one fell swoop — was also in attendance at the Universal Music Group afterparty, where she posed alongside EVP Michele Anthony for a snap.
Album of the year winner Harry Styles also made an appearance at the afterparties, posing with country artist Orville Peck and several label executives at Sony Music Entertainment’s post-Grammys reception after a big night at the ceremony, which also included wins in the best pop vocal album for Harry’s House and a dazzling performance of “As It Was.”

John Legend helped shut down the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday night (Feb. 5) as part of DJ Khaled’s all-star “God Did” performance. But when the camera swung to the audience for reaction shots during the epic set, Legend’s wife model Chrissy Teigen was nowhere to be found. The always supportive spouse explained why she skipped the broadcast via a sweet picture with the couple’s newborn daughter, Esti.

“happy grammy day!!!,” she wrote alongside the snap of three-week-old Esti taking a nap on her mom’s chest. “had a dress fitting, looked around and realized… what the hell am I trying to prove here. I cannot get up lol.”

Fair enough.

While she was home chilling with their newborn, Legend joined Jay-Z and Rick Ross on a “Last Supper”-like set to perform the title track from Khaled’s latest album.

Last week, Legend explained the meaning behind the baby’s name, saying it was initially Teigen’s idea, but also has a surprising ties to his family tree. “It turns out, my great-grandmother was named Esther,” he said. “It wasn’t intentionally after someone, but once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, ‘Oh, my great-grandmother’s name was Esther.’ We wanted to already name her middle name Maxine after my grandmother, whose middle name was Maxine. So, it’s a lot of my family in the name.”

Baby Esti joined older siblings Luna and Miles in January to make the singer and model’s brood a family of five, following the devastating loss of their third baby Jack last year when Teigen was 20 weeks pregnant. Following her birth, both proud parents took to social media to share photos of Esti. “Our new love,” Legend captioned his snap of the baby, while Teigen wrote, “Look at u out here lookin’ like a baby” alongside hers.

Check out Teigen’s post below.

The NFL announced today the musical lineup for its inaugural Pro Bowl Games, the multi-day programming slate that is replacing the traditional Pro Bowl exhibition game for the first time this year. Rae Sremmurd will headline the halftime show of the main event on Sunday, Feb. 5, which will be a flag football game between representatives of the AFC and NFC this year instead of a contact event.

The main event will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, from 3pm-6pm EST on that Sunday on ABC and ESPN. In addition to Rae Sremmurd, performers include country singer Jessie James Decker singing the national anthem, the Las Vegas Academy Choir performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and additional appearances by DJ Esther Anaya and the Blue Man Group.

In addition to the flagship flag football game that Sunday, the Pro Bowl Games will include a skills competition on Thursday, Feb. 2 from 7pm-8:30 EST on ESPN, which will then continue on Sunday. That competition will include multiple rounds of dodgeball; a three-part “lightning round” event that will involve a water balloon toss and a water bucket challenge; a golf event; a quarterback accuracy competition; a “best catch” contest; a kicking tic-tac-toe challenge; and more. The winner of each challenge will earn points for their conference, which will be added to points earned from each of two initial flag football games on the Sunday; the points accumulated by all those events will then determine the opening score of the final flag football game. Hard to explain but sounds like fun.

The Pro Bowl Games are taking place the week between the NFL’s conference championship games and the Super Bowl, which will be held Sunday, Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona. Rihanna is headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the first year it will be presented by Apple Music.

Super Bowl LVII is taking over Glendale, Ariz., on Feb. 12, 2023, and as usual for the iconic football event, the happenings leading up to the big game are just as fun as the match itself.

Super Bowl 2023 will be held at the State Farm Stadium with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. Rihanna is lined up to perform at the halftime show.

Leading up to the game, countless music stars will be attending and performing at incredible events and parties, many of which are open to the public or have tickets available.

See below for every Super Bowl party and event this year.
