Drake is an artist that has just as many fans as he does folks who can’t stand him, and that was made clear after a new image surfaced on social media last night (July 18). The image in question featured Drake and rising rapper Sexyy Red with the Canadian superstar saying he just met his “rightful wife.”
Drake is currently in New York City on a seven-show run that kicked off on July 17 at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. During the run, Drizzy has already coaxed stars such as Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry alongside his wife, Ayesha Curry among other notables. Lil Yachty was also in tow and was introduced to the crowd by the OVO Sound honcho.
However, what has the attention of the people is a photo Drake shared on his Instagram story feed cozied up backstage with Sexyy Red, with the “Pound Town” rapper getting a loving smooch. The caption within the photo reads, “Just met my rightful wife” and that was all Twitter needed to get the discussion trending in all kinds of directions.
Drake is known for keeping his ear to the street and has collaborated in the past with a number of rising rappers who caught a wave while boosting their profile. Some online assume that the Toronto superstar is eyeing a collaboration with his St. Louis counterpart while others are assuming that love is on the horizon, which is just speculative at this point.
Check out the reactions from all sides below.

Being friends with Drake has its perks. Just ask John Calipari and his Kentucky Wildcats college basketball program.
Spotted on HipHopDX, legendary college basketball coach John Calipari isn’t shy about taking advantage of his decades-long relationship with the Canadian Hip-Hop star.
While he is on tour with 21 Savage, Drake invited Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball program to practice at his $100 million mansion that features a basketball court called “The Sanctuary” while using Drizzy’s massive pool to help beat the unprecedented Canadian heat.
Rocking his OVO polo because you have to be rocking Drake’s gear while at his crib, Calipari shared a video of himself and his Wildcats enjoying time at the pool after practice.
“Alright, we’re at Drake’s relaxing,” Cal flexed in a video shared on his Twitter account.’ “Really wish you were with us. What is that? Is that a hotel? Oh my gosh, and here comes goofballs. You would think these are a bunch of 18-year-olds. I ain’t going in,” while “Having Our Way” played in the background.
In other videos shared on the Kentucky Wildcats Twitter account, forward Tre Mitchell revealed that his favorite Drake record is “Champagne Poetry” off his 2021 project, Certified Lover Boy.
Why Were The Kentucky Wildcats Up North?
HipHopDX reports the team was fresh off winning the gold medal while competing in the Global Jam tournament, so that should qualify all suspicions as to why the Kentucky Wildcats were north of the border.
We’re sure even though Drake is currently breaking fan’s hearts and pockets during his tour; he is secretly hating he is not at his crib practicing with the Wildcats so he could get some revenge following the poor layup performance when Coach Cal let him cosplay as a player for a day.

As Young Thug continues to await his day in court from behind bars, the man is keeping his music legacy out on these streets going and with the release of his latest LP, Business is Business, Thugga proves that he isn’t letting a little thing like prison slow up his rap career.
Today, the incarcerated rapper got a big assist from his homie from up north, Drake, as Drizzy took it upon himself to make a new visuals for Young Thug’s Drake assisted “Oh U Went,” in which Drizzy traveled to the South to shoot the clip. Using his own personal family reunion as the backdrop for the video, Drake has multiple people spit Thugga’s verse before he himself takes center stage at the reunion and gets in on the bar dropping bonanza in front of his friends and family.
Everyone must’ve been excited to be a part of the video, especially the kids. Just sayin’.

While he has been able to hold his own in Rap beefs Pusha T newest enemy are bots. His Twitter was flooded and fans think Drake was behind it.
As spotted on HipHopDX the Virginia Beach, Virginia native face some heavy trolling online on the social media platform. On Sunday, July 16 multiple Twitter accounts unleashed a series of insults aimed at the “Hear Me Clearly” rapper under a post originally made by @RapTV about a Yeat and Lil Uzi Vert song. Each account that participated in the slander featured a name with just a couple a letters and several numbers which is always a tell tale sign that the account is fake.
“Did you know PUSHA T once tripped over his ego” one bot replied. “PUSHA T music is so trash, it makes my ears bleedddd” another bot wrote. More insults came soon after like “I bet PUSHA Ts fans are just as delusional as he is”, “PUSHA Ts music is like a never-ending loop of disappointment” and a very creep pedo allegation “I bet you like the smell of kids bicycle seats.”
Naturally the cyberattack was picked up by the Hip-Hop community and their Twitter fingers quickly pointed to Drake. While the two have seemingly moved on from their Rap beef fans think that Drizzy’s fingerprints all over this job. But if you have done the math you are aware that the Pusha T’s original beef with was Lil Wayne. Back in the day The Clipse felt Weezy jacked their swag; specifically their preference for BAPE clothing. Several shots were sent Wayne’s way throughout that period prompting Drake to jump in. The rest is history.

Just days after Adele threatened to “kill” any fan who’d dare throw an object at her while performing on stage, the King of The North, Drake, became the latest victim of a growing trend of music artists who are being violated on stage by rowdy fans who feel the need to pelt them with foreign objects.
Deadline is reporting that the Crown of Canada aka Drake was hit with a phone on his wrist while he was performing on stage at in Chicago Wednesday night (July 5). Fortunately for the “0 to 100” rapper/singer, he didn’t sustain any real damage to his physical and kept the show going as if nothing ever happened. Drake has now become the latest (but certainly not last) performer to be turned into a victim of fan aggression as the number continues to rise.
Deadline reports:
Related Stories
Artists including Bebe Rexha, Pink, Kid Cudi, Steve Lacy Kelsea Ballerini and Ava Max have been victimized. And singer Adele recently warned from the stage that she would fight anyone who threw anything at her.
Rexha has been the most serious injury, with a thrown phone hitting her near her eye, causing her to collapse on stage. A 27-year-old man was arrested.
Ballerini stopped her show in Idaho to address her audience after an object was thrown.
“Can we just talk about what happened?” she asked. “All I care about is keeping everyone safe. If you ever don’t feel safe, please let someone around you know. If anyone’s pushing too much or you just have that gut feeling, just always flag it. … Don’t throw things, you know?”
Is there like a secret online message board that encourages this kind of behavior? Seriously. Is this new thing encouraged in the same online spaces that pushed for the Jan. 6 insurrection or something? Also, who the hell throws their phones? Do they wipe their personal information in preparation for the on-stage assault? Are they old phones that are expendable? Are they old school Sidekicks? We have so many questions.
Regardless of what’s behind this sudden rise in paying big money to see a music artist just to pelt them with disposable phones, it’s only a matter of time before they try the wrong one and end up being carried out of the venue by said artist’s entourage or security team a la Dave Chappelle. Then who’s the bad guy, right?
Stop the madness… or save it for Kid Rock. Just sayin’.
What do y’all think of fans pelting artists with phones and whatnot on stage? Is something going on behind the scenes, or are people just stupid? Let us know in the comments section below.

The 2023 BET Awards was a jam-packed night, with Beyonce, Drake, and SZA standing out among those taking home trophies. Also, Busta Rhymes received a long overdue Lifetime Achievement Award.
The annual awards night was Sunday night (June 25th) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. It was made more so by the fact that the night was focused on the celebration of 50 years of Hip-Hop, which saw numerous tributes take place and key wins by some of the most popular artists today including Quavo & Offset of the Migos honoring their late member, Takeoff.

Beyoncé and SZA reigned supreme as the biggest winners of the evening with three awards each. In a surprise, both songstresses would tie for Album of The Year with Renaissance and SOS, respectively. “Break My Soul” won the Viewer’s Choice Award and the BET HER Award as well. As for SZA, she would also win Video of The Year for her stylish “Kill Bill” video and Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, beating out a stacked field of artists including Beyoncé, Lizzo, Ari Lennox, Tems, H.E.R., and Coco Jones.
Drake followed behind with two wins on the night for Best Collaboration for his appearance on “Wait For U” by Future featuring Nigerian singer Tems, and Best Group for his team-up with 21 Savage for the hit album Her Loss. The win was his second in the category – he previously won the award seven years ago with Future. Kendrick Lamar won Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, his record-setting sixth win in the category. He was the leader in nominations for the evening with seven. Latto would take home the award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and show love to other women rappers in her acceptance speech.

The heartwarming moment of the night came as veteran MC Busta Rhymes was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and he delivered an emotional speech detailing his journey while admonishing other rappers to stop fighting among themselves.
“Y’all messing up the bag. Y’all messing up the energy. I don’t like when I talk to these dudes that run these streaming platforms and they talking about, ‘You know, we turning the consumer off because there’s so much little this and little that going on with you rappers.’ We’re gonna stop that. We’re gonna love each other, and we gonna get to this money,” he said.

As Hip-Hoppers continue to await for the moment they’re able to take a bite out of the best burger in America, Bun B’s Trill Burger, Drake vacated his throne to the North and flew South (on a dragon probably) just to feast on the most hyped Hip-Hop hamburger in history.
According to TMZ, Drake headed down to Houston to check out Bun B’s first official brick-and-mortar Trill Burgers establishment on Juneteenth, and after being greeted by the Hip-Hop legend personally, Drizzy sank his teeth into what he said was “the best burger I ever had.” Damnit! We want one… or two. Depends on how monstrous of a munchie session we get.
TMZ reports:
Drake and Bun have been tight ever since the Toronto rapper broke into the game, and says he opts to refer to Bun as a “mentor” rather than an “OG.”
As fate would have it, Drake’s other H-Town mentor, Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J Prince, was also in the building and they dapped it up like always.
Y’all know if Drake in Houston, J Prince isn’t going to be too far behind. Just sayin.’
Drake is the latest rapper in a growing line of MC’s who’ve had the pleasure of getting a bite out of the now legendary beef burger as others like Tyler, the Creator, Fat Joe and Jadakiss promptly gave Bun B his flowers after experiencing what he’d been perfecting in the kitchen all these years.
Can Bun B send a few our way though? Hook us up, Triple-OG!
Check out videos of their reactions below and let us know if you’ve had the pleasure of eating a Trill Burger in the comments section below.
