J. Cole is preparing for a big weekend in his home state as he is set to headline the closing night of the Dreamville Festival, but he had time to drop a new project. The North Carolina star released his Might Delete Later LP and the closing track features a response towards Kendrick Lamar and the recent “Big 3” jab.
J. Cole dropped Might Delete Later on Friday (April 5) ahead of the 2024 Dreamville Festival weekend and the 12-song project has features from Dreamville acts Ari Lennox and Bas, along with Young Dro, Central Cee, Cam’Ron, and Ab-Soul.
The one song that has everyone’s attention however is the closing track “7 Minute Drill,” the first response from J. Cole after Kendrick Lamar fired at Drake and Cole on Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That” track from the pair’s collaborative album, WE DON’T TRUST YOU.
Early thoughts on the latest album from Cole are still coming in but most are focusing their energies on dissecting the “7 Minute Drill” track with some saying it was a light jab while others were underwhelmed.
Still, this is the first time the public has seen any manner of issues between the two and it’s clear that the battle is finally heating up. Drake still has yet to respond on wax but the Canadian superstar has made some defiant statements here and there while on his It’s All A Blur tour.
With J. Cole’s latest project and salvo against Kendrick Lamar, the social media streets are talking. We’ve got reactions from X listed below.

Kendrick Lamar put the Hip-Hop world on notice after dropping a verse on “Like That” from Future and Metro Boomin‘s new WE DON’T TRUST YOU project. K-Dot revisited his “Control” verse days and restored the feeling after aiming shots at Drake and J. Cole while declaring himself the best among the so-called “Big Three.”
Kendrick Lamar has been spending more time focused on his pgLang brand and assisting the career of his cousin, Baby Keem to great effect. The former TDE standout has often been mentioned in the same tier as Drake and J. Cole, with many thinking the trio would clique up one day and shift the entire ecosystem.
K-Dot put those hopes and dreams to rest on “Like That” and didn’t mince words at all. Some are of the mind that Lamar has taken subliminal shots from Drizzy over the years, in particular, related to their status within the Hip-Hop hierarchy.
From “Like That”:
“Okay, let’s get it up, it’s time for him to prove that he’s a problem/N*ggas clickin’ up, but cannot be legit, no 40 Water, tell ’em/Ah, yeah, huh, yeah, get up with me/F*ck sneak dissin’, first person shooter, I hope they came with three switches/I crash out, like, “F*ck rap,” diss Melle Mel if I had to”
In a bid to distance himself from the pack, Lamar added, “Motherf*ck the big three, n*gga, it’s just big me” which left nothing to the imagination.
This isn’t the first time Kendrick Lamar caused a stir. Back in 2013 on Big Sean’s “Control,” Kung Fu Kenny named names and essentially dared everyone to try his pen and had people not even involved in the jabs responding to the verse. Time will tell if Drake or J. Cole will respond, considering the latter has always represented his connection to Lamar as friendly.
Again, this could also be traced to a perceived beef between Future and Drake, although that hasn’t been confirmed. Further, Metro Boomin has had recent issues with the Canadian superstar that went public, adding to the lore of discord between them all.
On X, formerly Twitter, folks are chiming in about Kendrick Lamar’s jabs toward Drake and J. Cole. Check out the reactions below.

Drake has been proclaimed the “Petty King” and even called himself such in a recent song, so it was assumed that Ye, formerly Kanye West dissing him would garner a response. Via his Instagram Story feed, Drake seemed to respond to Ye’s deleted Instagram rant via a popular 50 Cent meme.
Ye posted then deleted a fiery Instagram post dissing the likes of Adidas, Daily Mail, and others he deemed to have wronged him. The post was in support of his track “Carnival” from the Vultures 1 project hitting the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart but soon turned into him unleashing a series of disses of which Drizzy was a target.

In the rant, Ye seemed miffed that Drake added Lil Durk to his upcoming tour with J. Cole just as Ye’s team was rolling out the Vultures project which features the “All My Life” star.
Using the 50 Cent “why he say f*ck me for” meme, it looks like the Canadian superstar used the moment to make one of his notorious slick retorts without naming names.

Of course, the OVO Sound honcho has said Kanye’s name before on tracks along with other jabs over the years although it was thought the pair patched things up after performing together in a joint concert in support of Larry Hoover.
We imagine this exchange won’t be the last of it.

Men lie, women lie, and numbers don’t, but are numbers indicative of something’s actual worth? Nicki Minaj certainly seems to think so.

Responding to Megan Thee Stallion’s “subliminal” diss on “HISS,” Nicki Minaj clapped back with the lackluster response track “Bigfoot” and though most Hip-Hop fans called the song a complete dud, Nicki feels she struck gold as she boasted about the numbers the song garnered upon its release.

Hopping on Instagram to take a victory lap, Nicki felt that the 2.45 million views that the track got on the first day of its release was  something to celebrate and in the caption said as much even though many of her fans weren’t feeling the cut.

“Imagine being backed by a machine & going up against me, THEE MACHINE. Imagine spending money on a music video & full campaign only for an audio of a blank screen with just my RAPS to gets more views. A rap I made up joking on IG LIVE in mins Broke APPLE MUSIC & YOUTUBE records. NOW WE WAITING ON SPOTIFY!!!!!!! WHO WANNA PLAY WIT NICKI?!?? 🤣 Spotify ain’t gotta lie!!!!!! They REALLY STREAMING my music. 😎 #BigFOOT This is what happens when you think FAKE BOTS, PAID BLOGS & FAKE STUNTS will win the war in 2024 this is thinking you that bitch then running into THAT BITCH. #HeavyOnIt@tateko1 lets GOOOOOOOOOOO #GagCITY WHO MAD?!?!!!!!! Idc,” Nicki Minaj wrote.

Well, the numbers are the numbers, so we can’t take that away from her.
Still, fans chimed in on the comments about the song and had some pointed takes saying things like, “this is sooooooooooooooo embarrassing!!!!! song is TRASH and u ruining your legacy 😢,” and “You really tryna package up those stats like you’ve done something.”
But even with the backlash that Nicki’s garnered over her “hit” diss song, many fans came to her defense and praised her for making “history” with her “Bigfoot” drop with posts like “[C]ongratulations and this is not the end at all! You’re only getting warmed up.”
Now we wait and see if this is the end of the Megan vs. Nicki beef or just the beginning.
What do y’all think of Nicki Minaj patting herself on the back for the “success” of “Bigfoot”? Let us know in the comments section below.

Megan Thee Stallion is back with another snake-themed single following last year’s “Cobra” with the blistering “Hiss” track and it looks like there’s some smoke for a fellow artist if the chatter is true. Some fans believe Megan Thee Stallion took a swipe at Nicki Minaj on “Hiss” and the reactions are going crazy right now.
Megan Thee Stallion has been inching her way back to the limelight after taking time away to gather her resources, doing so with the explosive “Cobra” last November. While that track gave fans some insight into Megan’s journey to healing, “Hiss” is a return to Tina Snow addressing all her haters in a big and bold fashion.
However, there is a portion of the song’s first verse that seemingly has the Barbz forming like Voltron to attack the Houston Hottie by calling her “Bigfoot” as some believe it was a dig at Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” reads the lyric. Megan’s Law is a federal law that “require(s) the release of relevant information to protect the public from sexually violent offenders” — and some are connecting this bar to Petty’s sex offenders registry inclusion.
In the early part of the verse, Megan addressed her so-called promiscuity, which came under fire during the Tory Lanez trial and was once brought up again by her ex-boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine. In the second verse, Megan seemingly takes a shot at Drake and that too is causing a stir online.
That said, Megan Thee Stallion is taking ownership of her choices and body, and it doesn’t look like she’s letting her foot up off the gas anytime soon.
Check out the reaction from all sides below, along with the lyric video.

Nicki Minaj dropped her latest studio album Pink Friday 2 on December 8, which is also her birthday, and fans online are already running it up and hopping online to share their thoughts. Some fans believe that Nicki Minaj took a shot at both Megan Thee Stallion and Latto on two different songs on the album.
Pink Friday 2 is the fifth studio album from Nicki Minaj, following 2018’s Queen. The Queens star has released tracks and done features in the span of those five years between projects and the anticipation for the new album was high.
Across 22 tracks, Minaj rocks alongside her Young Money boss Lil Wayne and Tate Kobang on the track “RNB” and she rocks with her past collaborator Drake on the track “Needle” while J. Cole graces the song “Let Me Calm Down.”
The tracks that fans are discussing online regarding the alleged disses are “FTCU” and “Fallin 4 U,” the former of which features the lyrics, “Stay in your Tory lane, b*tch, I’m not Iggy” but this could be a reach as the pair seemingly squashed their issues over a failed collaboration.
On “Fallin 4 U,” the lyrics in question are, “Picture you ending up under the seat, where the dread at?/ Picture not listening when I said you would dread that/ I mean locs, ho, you-you’s a chop ho/ I’m number one, y’all go argue over top four,” which some stating the “locs, ho” word scheme was a dig at Latto.
Of course, none of this can be confirmed but the discussion regarding the release of Pink Friday 2 is bubbling on X right now. We’ve got reactions along with birthday wishes from all sides below.
