New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson proved why he was named this year’s Kia Clutch Player of the Year after delivering a huge three-point make against the Detroit Pistons in their first-round series. Despite a spirited performance from the upstart Pistons, Jalen Brunson, who seemingly lives for these moments, dropped the dagger from beyond the arc and sank the hopes of Detroit.
The Knicks visited the Pistons with a 3-2 advantage in their best-of-seven series, which got testy in game 4 with the Pistons showing plenty of fight in the contest and coming away with the win. It appeared that the Pistons were on their way to capturing the win on their home court, but the tight defense of the Knicks and their hot shooting tied things up towards the end of regulation.
Brunson faced yet another round of boos and insults from fans and a relentless onslaught of speed, offense, and defense from Detroit’s young core of Cade Cunningham, Ausar Thompson, and Jalen Duren. However, with the game tied 113-all and just 20 seconds on the clock, Brunson tied the cape around his neck and went to work.
With the much taller Thompson guarding him, Brunson shrugged off the coverage, hit a crossover dribble, and drained one of the biggest three-pointers of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. After hitting the shot, Brunson blew kisses to the crowd, and the Pistons made an effort to score, but the Knicks’ defensive scheme headed off their plans.
Brunson and the New York Knicks will now face the defending champion Boston Celtics in what’s expected to be a must-see series.

The collab features a unique T-shirt and hoodie adorned with a custom Detroit, World Tour 2025 design. Initially revealed at the NBA game, the collection has made its way online for Detroit fans to shop. So if you couldn’t attend Big Sean Night, you can now shop the collab on the Pistons’ site. Shop quickly though, because both tops are selling fast.
The Pistons announced Big Sean night back in February and planned to celebrate his ties to the NBA organization, his impact in Detroit, as well ashis birthday, which is also on March 25. The night immersed fans in all things Sean Don, including in-game activations, contests and prizes, and a special halftime performance by Detroit rapper Nasaan, curated by Big Sean.

“Being from the city, you all know how much this means to me and the journey we all have to go through to make something of yourself, so I truly appreciate the support,” said Big Sean in a statement. “To be able to work with the Pistons as the creative director of innovation is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to bring Don Life to the city.”
As a part of the night, the Pistons are also creating an exclusive Big Sean bobblehead available to fans only through a special charitable ticket package, which includes the one-of-a-kind bobblehead and a ticket to the game. Proceeds from the ticket package will benefit the Detroit Pistons Foundation as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan via the Sean Anderson Foundation. Tickets must be purchased by visiting the Pistons site.
The limited-edition collaboration follows the release of Sean’s self-help book, Go Higher, as well as linking with Will Smith for a Matrix-inspired music video for “Beautiful Scars.”

Fans of the Detroit Pistons may be upset at the season they’re having and the trades they made yesterday, but at least the franchise will be giving Hip-Hop heads something to look forward to when they celebrate the legacy of legendary Hip-Hop producer and Detroit native, J. Dilla.
The team announced via a press release shared with HipHopWired that on March 13, the team will be releasing a capsule collection celebrating the life of the renowned music producer. With the help of fellow Detroit native, Royce Da 5’9″, the curated pieces will serve as a reminder of the impact that Dilla had not only on the rap game, but the city of Detroit as well.
Per the press release:
The collection was designed in partnership with Detroit-based rap star Royce 5’9”, who served as art director on the project. Royce and Dilla worked on several records together prior to Dilla’s passing, including “Let’s Grow.” According to Royce, this project serves to carry on Dilla’s legacy and complete their “unfinished business.”
“Dilla’s enduring legacy is a treasure that must be safeguarded at any expense,” said Royce. “It is a great honor to be responsible for curating his likeness in this exclusive merchandise drop entrusted to me by his estate and the Pistons. This campaign holds major significance not just for myself but also for the city of Detroit and the hip-hop community as a whole.”
Each piece in the capsule will pay homage to J. Dilla, his work, and his non-traditional style. Product images and details will be unveiled leading up to 313 Day, when the capsule drops and the Pistons will host the Toronto Raptors at Little Caesars Arena.
The capsule collection will be available March 13 on the Pistons 313 Shop and will no doubt become must-have attire for the hardcore J. Dilla and Detroit Piston fans out there. We’re already eyeing that jersey, and we’re not even Pistons fans.
