Charlamagne Tha God continues to make significant moves outside of radio. The Breakfast Club host is teaming up with John Wick producer Basil Iwanyk to launch a new production company.

Variety exclusively reports that Charlamagne Tha God and Iwanyk are teaming up to launch Southland Stories, a production company that amplifies southern voices.

The first project on Southland Stories‘ slate is a revenge thriller called True Threat starring Jonathan Majors. It is the actor’s first role since his 2023 conviction.

Per Variety:

“True Threat” is scheduled to begin production this summer. It’s one of several films in the pipeline as Southland Stories starts to ramp up its output. Directed and written by Gerard McMurray and produced by Alexis Garcia of Cat5, “True Threat” follows a special forces operative out for vengeance after his teenage son is killed by gang members. The movie is among Majors’ first roles since he was convicted in 2023 of third degree assault and harassment.

The radio host also spoke about the film, adding, “Films like ‘True Threat’ are exactly why we created Southland Stories. It’s vital to show that Black creatives can thrive across all genres. Gerard McMurray and Jonathan Majors are extremely talented individuals.”

Southland Stories will deliver films that focus on “real-life tales” and scripted narratives like True Threat. In a press release, Charlamagne, Iwanyk, and producer Karen Kinney said the production company was founded to “spotlight bold, authentic stories often overlooked in mainstream cinema.”

We shall see if picking a Jonathan Majors film to kick things off with will work out for Southland Stories.

It seems Big U has been on the federal government’s radar for some time. Prosecutors have revealed they have intercepted over 20,000 of his calls and more.

As per Complex, the entertainment manager might have the fight of his life on his hands when it comes to his upcoming RICO trial. In a recent court filing, the federal government has disclosed that they have whopping amount of material on Big U. In their possession are “20,000 intercepted audio calls, as well as numerous surreptitious audio and video recordings.” One of the calls allegedly captures Big U telling someone that he is still very much an active gang member, which contradicts his public persona as a community organizer. “I’m retired, ni**a? Activist? I’ll pull up on your block right now, ni**a, and show up and show out, ni**a what happened to the last ni**as that thought I was retired,” Big U said. Other pieces of evidence are tied to other reporting, investigative work, search warrants, photographs and other items that add up to about to 60 gigabytes of material.

In order to properly prepare for the looming trial his six co-defendants have requested that it be postponed until May 4, 2026. Big U on the other hand wants to proceed with the original scheduled date. On March 19, Eugene Henley Jr. was charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. More specifically the feds say he and the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips engaged in robbery, extortion, fraud and the alleged murder of a upcoming rapper.

“The RICO charges against Mr. Henley and his associates reflect a pattern of crimes that runs the gambit from extortion to tax evasion, all under the umbrella of a well-organized criminal organization led by Mr. Henley,” said Special Agent in Charge Tyler Hatcher, IRS Criminal Investigation, Los Angeles Field Office. “Additionally, Mr. Henley allegedly duped the County of Los Angeles by running a charitable organization that promoted anti-gang solutions while continuing criminal activity that was directly contrary to his charity. IRS-CI is proud to partner with fellow law enforcement organizations to investigate these criminal organizations to protect our communities from further harm.”

Big U has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The king of toxicity, Future, popped up in NYC for the Met Gala looking quite different, and the internet wasted no time clowning the hitmaker.

Future hasn’t been on the radar for much of 2025, but he is used this year’s Met Gala to make a bold statement with his hair.

Fans were shocked to see the “March Madness” rapper without the locs we have come to know him for. He wore a shorter hairdo that showed off his natural hairstyle while keeping his signature bleach blonde coloring.
Trying his best to stick with this year’s theme, Met Gala is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, Future came correct with a Louis Vuitton tweed-like ensemble, paired with a white collared shirt, black tie, and shoes with an LV bag.

Unfortunately, it was hair that took all the attention, and not his drip.

Immediately, users on X, formerly Twitter, hilariously began comparing the rapper’s hair to that of comedian/actor Wanada Sykes, also known for a similar hairstyle.

Another user on X had something to say about Future’s ends, writing in a post, “Future’s ends are damaged just like mine. That’s why I don’t idolize celebrities.”

Tears.
“future needs some faux locs IMMEDIATELY. STAT,” another post on X read.
Someone compared his hair to Scottie Pippen’s fro-twist look in another post.

Damn.
Well, we are sure Future couldn’t care less what folks had to say about his hair, and can probably drop a bag to fix it up. But he’s still gonna get these jokes.
You can see more reactions to Future’s new hairdo in the gallery below.

Donald Trump’s stupidity continues to hit new highs. For his next ridiculous act, Trump is ordering a 100% tariff on foreign-made films, and according to reporting, it’s all because of one of his loyal Hollywood supporters.

Out of nowhere, Trump, who more than likely was sitting on his gaudy Mar-A-Lago couch, watching TV, instead of doing his job as President of the United States, posted on his trash social media platform his latest dumb a** idea to hit foreign-made films with a 100% tariff, because in his words it’s a “national threat.”
We wished we were making this up, but he is dead serious.

“The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood, and many other areas within the U.S.A., are being devastated. This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat.”
“It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda! Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands,” Trump continued. “WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!”

Lol, what?
It’s unclear how Trump plans to implement these latest abuse tariffs. Still, according to The Guardian, he could be trying to target a system of tax subsidies that allows Hollywood producers to receive large sums of money if they shoot movies in studios in approved countries.
So, where did he get this idea from?
According to TNR, he could have gotten the idea from actor Jon Voight, who is a staunch supporter of Felon 47.
Per TNR:
Months later, it appears that Voight—also known as the film industry’s most ardent conservative—spoke with Trump, and Trump listened.
Voight has reportedly spent weeks talking to the Directors Guild of America, Teamsters, and IATSE, Deadline reported Friday. The fruit of those conversations, according to sources with knowledge of them who spoke to the entertainment publication, was supposed to be a tax incentive that Hollywood has been clamoring for.

Instead, Trump went the way of the tariff, which squares into an administration that has aggressively curtailed spending in order to extend extremely expensive tax breaks for billionaires.
Social media had plenty of jokes, including some adding that the next season of The White Lotus could end up in Cleveland.
You can see those reactions in the gallery below.

President Donald Trump’s “I don’t know” answers concerning upholding the U.S. Constitution alarmed many on social media.
In nearly four months of the second presidential administration of Donald Trump, many of his executive orders have run afoul of what is outlawed by the U.S. Constitution. And in a recent interview with NBC’s Kristin Welker, Trump pointedly avoided

answering questions about upholding the Constitution – which a president is sworn to do.

In the interview on Meet The Press which aired Sunday (May 4), Welker asked President Trump about the recent cases of deportation including that of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was sent to a prison in El Salvador along with others without due process. That move is in violation of the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution. “Do you agree that everyone who is here deserves due process? Citizens and noncitizens?”, Welker asked, to which Trump replied, “I don’t know. I’m not a lawyer.”

“The 5th amendment says as much.. Don’t you need to uphold the constitution?”, Welker responded. “I don’t know,” Trump said, adding: “It might say that, but if you’re talking about that, then we’d have to have a million, or two million, or three million trials. We have thousands of people that are some murderers, and some drug dealers, and some of the worst people on earth…I was elected to get them the hell out of here, and the courts are holding me from doing it.”
He contiued: “I have to respond by saying, again, I have brilliant lawyers that work for me, and they are going to obviously follow what the Supreme Court said. What you said is not what I heard the Supreme Court said. They have a different interpretation.”
Welker asked if he listened to concerns that he’s steering the nation into an authoritarian regime, Trump brushed it aside. “Those people are going to be very happy,” he said. “They’re going to have to see some results.”
His responses regarding the Constitution were met on social media with anger and calls for him to be impeached or removed, citing the 25th Amendment. One user named Jay in a post on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “I’m 1000% sure Trump has never read the constitution. And if he did he’s too stupid to understand it.”

Donald Trump is a 78-year-old unserious man. Y’all’s president is feeling social media’s wrath after sharing an AI-generated image of himself as the pope.
We wish we were joking, but Trump really did this nonsense.
Instead of doing his job to improve the lives of Americans, something he has shown he has no intention of doing since getting into office, Donald Trump is spending his time on social media posting AI images of himself.

His latest post is being called blasphemous, and understandably so, because he shared a photo of himself wearing papal gear on the heels of Pope Francis’ passing. He and his “wife,” Melania, attended the funeral, where he also got called out for not wearing a black suit like everyone else who was there to pay their respects.

Social Media Blast Donald Trump For His “Blasphemous” Post
The photo has amassed over 1 million likes, but it’s getting well-deserved criticism. One commenter wrote under the post, “Not ok. Offensive to me as a Catholic.”
Another comment read, “You make it so hard to defend you sometimes.”
Why are you defending this man about anything he does? That is another question for another time.
On X, formerly Twitter,  Trump, who is currently one of the most unpopular presidents in our lifetime because of his terrible policies, like his misses of tariffs, is getting excoriated for his “disrespectful” post.
“Asking all the Catholic Trump supporters, how do you feel about Trump mocking your religion? We are the laughingstock of the world,” one user on X asked.
Another post read, “Trump is the antichrist and to the Catholics who voted for him, he is mocking us.”

No lies detected there.
Donald Trump continues to prove how much of moron he is and that he is unfit for office. You can see more reactions in the gallery below.

As for what’s going on this season, the Flenory brothers’ next hustle is starting their music label in Atlanta, expanding their drug empire into national territories during the 1990s, following whatever happened to them in Mexico. As Shannon Sharpe is dealing with heavy sexual assault allegations, his First Take co-host Stephen A. Smith is defending him and raising the idea that Sharpe being hit with the allegations and some media reactions aren’t coincidental. “People have been after him since he did Katt Williams,” Smith said during his appearance on the Big Boy’s Neighborhood radio show. “They’ve been at his neck because of the numbers he produced and the success that it had and how he was able to ride that wave,” he added.

The ESPN personality was referring to the viral episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, which aired last January featuring the comedian delivering unfiltered views on his career and other celebrities, drawing millions of viewers. “I’m not talking about what people are talking about and what they have to talk about, I’m talking about the zest with which they do it,” Smith continued, commenting on the growing public conversation about the allegations. “You see a joy that some people are having in going at him and that’s sad. You can talk about it, but we know the difference, in terms of the flavor that you’re bringing to an equation where you’re talking about somebody with glee and joy in your voice when you’re talking about the kind of predicament they’re in. And that’s what I’ve got a problem with.”

Sharpe, an NFL player turned analyst, was hit with a $50 million lawsuit by a victim known as Jane Doe who accused him of sexually assaulting her after they started dating in 2023. Shortly after that was publicized, another woman stepped forward to allege that the 56-year-old assaulted her in the past. Sharpe has since stepped away from his co-hosting duties on First Take.“To see the great things that he has been doing and to know the potential is out there for all of this to be derailed, I’m incredibly sad for him,” Smith said, touching on how this could impact Sharpe’s career and First Take. “I’m sad for us as a show ’cause we’re better with him than without him, but right now, it’s about him getting his house in order and doing what he can to get past all of this.”Check out the entire interview above.

On Wednesday (April 30), President Donald Trump opined about the stock market’s freefall on his Truth Social media platform, aiming to blame former President Joe Biden. “This is Biden’s Stock Market, not Trump’s,” he posted. “I didn’t take over until January 20th. Tariffs will soon start kicking in, and companies are starting to move into the USA in record numbers.”Trump continued, “Our Country will boom, but we have to get rid of the Biden ‘Overhang. This will take a while, has NOTHING TO DO WITH TARIFFS, only that he left us with bad numbers, but when the boom begins, it will be like no other. BE PATIENT!!!” A report from the Commerce Department on Wednesday showed that the American economy shrunk 0.5% in the first quarter of 2025, with inflation remaining firm. It’s the first such occurrence since 2022, capping off Trump’s first 100 days into his second term with the worst economic showing for the stock market since Richard Nixon was in office. It follows a pattern of Trump to avoid taking responsibility for any consequences for his economic policy decisions. Last January, as the economy was faring well in Biden’s last year in office, Trump tried to claim credit even though he hadn’t been in office for four years. When he took office this January, the market surged in response. “Everyone is calling it the — I don’t want to say this. It’s too braggadocious, but we’ll say it anyway — the Trump effect,” Trump said during a rally in Washington, D.C. before his inaugruation. “It’s you. You’re the effect. Since the election, the stock market has surged, and small-business optimism has soared, a record 41 points to a 39-year high.”But on April 2, Trump declared “Liberation Day”, where he enacted tariffs on every country in the world. The brushback has been swift, and there are growing signs that the effects will be hard on the American  public as the summer begins. Observers have been noting the slowdown of cargo ships coming from China, even after Trump enacted a 90-day pause on tariffs while leaving China with a tariff of 145% overall. Polls have shown a downturn in Trump’s approval rates regarding the economy, and former Biden White House staffer Andrew Bates ripped Trump for his remarks, saying “Joe Biden publicly warned Trump against raising the prices he promised to lower with tariffs, which are now the biggest middle-class tax increase in modern history.”
