Home Alone has long been a holiday favorite, ever since little Kevin McCallister (originally played by Macaulay Culkin) was left home by himself and tried aftershave for the first time back in 1990.
Last week, Culkin received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His on-screen mom, Catherine O’Hara, and fellow child actor, Natasha Lyonne, were there to help him celebrate.
“Macaulay, congratulations, you so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” said O’Hara. “Thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion,” she joked before adding. “I’m so proud of you.”
Culkin got emotional during the ceremony. “I’d like to thank Brenda, you are absolutely everything. You’re my champion,” he said to his fiancee, Brenda Song, who was in the audience with their two sons. “You’re the only person happier for me today than I am. You’re not only the best woman I’ve ever known, you’re the best person I’ve ever known” Culkin went on to thank Song for giving him “purpose” and a family. “After the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people,” he joked.
To close, Culkin added the Home Alone quote, “In the spirit of the holiday season, I just want to say ‘Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!’”

It’s been 33 years since Culkin, Joe Pesci, O’Hara and Daniel Stern first graced the screen of the iconic film. The original film and the 2021 reboot, Home Sweet Home Alone, are available to watch exclusively on Disney+.
The newest installment in the Home Alone universe takes place in the same town as the 1990 film, but with new themes and adventures.
Want to watch the 2021 version of Home Alone? Feeling nostalgic for the first five Home Alone films? See below for how to stream every single Home Alone movie online this holiday season.

Home Alone 2: Lost In New York is available to stream on Disney+, and also up for rent and purchase on Prime Video here.
Home Alone 3 (1997)
Home Alone 3 is the first film without Kevin McCallister. In the third installment, Alex Pruitt (played by Alex D. Linz), is an eight-year-old boy living in Chicago who must fend off international spies looking for a computer chip in his toy car.
Home Alone 3 is available to stream on Disney+, and can also be found to buy or rent on Prime Video here.
Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House (2002)
Home Alone 4 brings back a few of the main characters from the first two films, but all played by different actors. The plot revolves around Kevin McCallister (played by Mike Weinberg) trying to defend his future stepmother’s house from his old nemesis Marv and his wife Vera.
Home Alone 4 is available to buy or rent on Apple TV here.
Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012)
Home Alone 5 introduces a new protagonist, Finn Baxter (played by Christian Martyn), who sets up booby traps in his house to catch the ghost of the former occupant, but ends up protecting the house and his sister from three art thieves.
Home Alone: The Holiday Heist is available to buy or rent on Prime Video here.
Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)
In the latest Home Alone 2021 reboot, a married couple tries to steal back a valuable heirloom from Max Mercer (played by JoJo Rabbit‘s Archie Yates).

It appears that wedding bells may be in order for Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker! According to People, the High School Musical star and the professional baseball player, tied the knot in Tulum, Mexico.
Although both Hudgens, 34, and Tucker, 27, have yet to comment on the reports, photos of the Tick, Tick… Boom! star posing in a white dress made the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend (Dec. 3). A post from former High School Musical co-star Monique Coleman added more fuel to the rumors; the Emmy-nominated host shared clips of a sunny beach on her Instagram Story, tagging her location as Tulum, Mexico.
Billboard has reached out to representatives for both Hudgens and Tucker for comment.
In a 2021 Drew Barrymore Show interview, Hudgens recounted how got in touch with Tucker after meeting him in a Zoom meditation group during the peak of COVID-19 lockdowns. “I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, ‘Hey it was nice to meet you,’” she said. “I think there’s no shame in making the first move. If you want it, why wait for someone else to give you what you want?”
On Valentine’s Day 2021 (Feb. 14), Hudgens made the couple Instagram official when she posted a sweep snap of them sharing a kiss. “It’s you, it’s me, it’s us. @cotuck ❤️💋🤟🏽,” she captioned the post. By Feb. 9, 2023, the couple confirmed their engagement — again via Instagram — with a post captioned, “YES. We couldn’t be happier.”
News of Hudgens’ reported marriage closes a busy year for the multi-hyphenate. This year, she starred in the Lily Rabe-directed drama Downtown Owl, hosted the pre-show for the 95th Academy Awards and continued to prep for the forthcoming fourth installment of the Bad Boys franchise.
Vanessa Hudgens has earned 15 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including the top 10 hits “Breaking Free” (No. 4) and “What Time Is It” (No. 6) from the High School Musical and High School Musical 2 soundtracks, respectively. On the Billboard 200, she has charted both of her solo studio albums: 2006’s V (No. 24) and 2008’s Identified (No. 23).

Billie Eilish again confirmed that she’s part of the LGBTQ community in a red carpet interview at the Variety Hitmakers Brunch on Saturday (Dec. 2), just a couple weeks after she first told Variety that she’s “attracted” to women in her November cover story. After the event was over, however, she took to Instagram to call out the publication, alleging that she was outed on the red carpet.
“thanks variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters,” the 21-year-old pop star wrote, captioning clips from the Hitmakers event as well as a photo of her pants pulled down to her thighs, taken while she was presumably sitting on the toilet.
“i like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares,” she added. “stream ‘what was i made for’🥸,” she added in reference to her Grammy-nominated Barbie soundtrack song.
Eilish’s post most likely referenced the on-camera interview she gave to Variety‘s Tiana DeNicola, who asked the Grammy winner, “Did you mean to come out in [your cover story]?”
As both of them laughed, Eilish replied, “No I didn’t, but I kinda thought, Wasn’t it obvious?“
In the Nov. 13 Power of Women issue, Eilish confessed that she’s “attracted to [women] for real … I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.”
“I just don’t really believe in [coming out],” continued the “Happier Than Ever” singer on the red carpet. “I’m just like, why can’t we just exist? I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops. But … I saw the article and I was like, ‘Oh! I guess I came out today!’”
The musician went on to pick up the Hitmakers award for Film Song of the Year, earning recognition for her Barbie contribution “What Was I Made For.” The track is also nominated for record of the year, song of the year, best pop solo performance, best song written for visual media and best music video at next year’s Grammys.

Justine Skye is getting ready for the holidays and all she wants for Christmas is a little R&R.
“To be honest, I love the time off to get to relax and clear my mind to get ready for the new year,” she tells Billboard, adding that “my traditions revolve around enjoying moments of rest and connection with loved ones.”
It’s been a busy year for Skye, who released a new album, Darkside, in January, and wrapped the final season of Grown-ish in August (Skye appears in the show’s last two seasons playing Junior’s love interest, Annika). For the singer and actress, the holidays are all about decompressing from work and focusing instead on family and friends for a “time of relaxation and togetherness.”

“During the holidays, I intentionally take a break from work to immerse myself in the joy of the season,” she says. “I love spending quality time with family, where we come together to cook delicious meals and watch classic holiday movies, a tradition that brings both nostalgia and new memories.”
Of course, the holidays are also about gift-giving, and Skye has teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger this year to unveil some of her favorite pieces to wear — and give.
“My earliest memories of wearing Tommy is being in middle school remembering how much I wanted to give off that tomboy, edgy-yet-chic vibe that Aaliyah would give,” she explains, of why she wanted to work with the Tommy team.
Skye’s go-to gifting picks from Tommy Hilfiger: a candle, a blanket, a nice traveling/duffle bag and a cozy sweater.
As for new music, Skye recently released “Whip It Up,” a beat-driven, staccato-style R&B track that’s expected to appear on an upcoming album. Skye reveals that she’s “currently working on a new project,” though no name or release date has been announced just yet. Still, the singer teases a “more upbeat [and] dance kind of vibes,” adding that she’s “excited to keep rolling out this new sound.”
“I want to encourage and be a part of the shift in music that gets people back on the dance floor,” she says. “Everyday I learn something new about life and myself and it all helps me grow and expand creatively.”
For now though, Skye is just focused on heading home for the holidays: “It’s all about spending time with friends and family and creating a new memory to close off the year.”
Skye’s latest single, “Whip It Up” is now streaming. You can also shop the singer’s holiday gifting picks from Tommy Hilfiger below:

Beyoncé ruled the box office this weekend.
Her concert picture, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, opened in first place with $21 million in North American ticket sales, according to estimates from AMC Theatres Sunday (Dec. 3).
The post-Thanksgiving, early December box office is notoriously slow, but Renaissance defied the odds. Not accounting for inflation, it’s the first time a film has opened over $20 million on this weekend in 20 years (since The Last Samurai).
Beyoncé wrote, directed and produced Renaissance, which is focused on the tour for her Grammy-winning album. It debuted in 2,539 theaters in the U.S. and Canada, as well as 94 international territories, where it earned $6.4 million from 2,621 theaters.
“On behalf of AMC Theatres Distribution and the entire theatrical industry, we thank Beyoncé for bringing this incredible film directly to her fans,” said Elizabeth Frank, AMC Theatres executive vice president of worldwide programming, in a statement. “To see it resonate with fans and with film critics on a weekend that many in the industry typically neglect is a testament to her immense talent, not just as a performer, but as a producer and director.”
Though Renaissance did not come close to matching the $92.8 million debut of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in October, it’s still a very good start for a concert film. No one expected Renaissance to match The Eras Tour, which is wrapping up its theatrical run soon with over $250 million globally. Prior to Swift, the biggest concert film debuts (titles held by Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber for their 2008 and 2011 films) had not surpassed the unadjusted sum of $32 million.
The 39-city, 56-show Renaissance tour, which kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden in May and ended in Kansas City, Missouri in the fall, made over $500 million and attracted over 2.7 million concertgoers. Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour, with 151 dates, is expected to gross some $1.4 billion.
Both Beyoncé and Swift chose to partner with AMC Theatres to distribute their films, as opposed to a traditional studio. Both superstars have been supportive of one another, making splashy appearances at the other’s premieres. Both had previously released films on Netflix (Miss Americana and Homecoming). And both are reported to be receiving at least 50% of ticket sales.
Movie tickets to the show were more expensive than average, around $23.32 versus Swift’s $20.78, according to data firm EntTelligence.
Critics and audiences gave Renaissance glowing reviews — it’s sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and got a coveted A+ CinemaScore from opening weekend audiences who were polled. EntTelligence also estimates that the audience, around 900,000 strong, skewed a little older than Swift’s.
Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes fell to second place in its third weekend with an estimated $14.5 million. The prequel has now earned over $121 million domestically.
Godzilla Minus One is expected to take third place on the North American charts. The well-reviewed Japanses blockbuster distributed by Toho International cost only $15 million to produce and has already earned $23 million in Japan. Toho’s 33rd Godzilla film is set in the aftermath of World War II, stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and was directed by Takashi Yamazaki.
Trolls Band Together landed in fourth place in its third weekend with $7.6 million, bringing its domestic total to $74.8 million.
