Jadakiss and Dave East get together for a special edition of the popular I Got Questions interview series to mark Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary.
The celebration of Hip-Hop turning 50 is still going strong, and many have come together to talk about their experiences and love for the different aspects of the culture. In that light, two of the greatest MCs in rap music in Jadakiss and Dave East linked up to share their stories in a new episode of the iONE Digital series to mark the occasion.

Related Stories

As both artists hold court in a luxurious speakeasy lounge, Dave East kicks things off by asking The LOX veteran if he remembered the first time they met. “Not at all”, Jadakiss stated. “Every time you’d come up to D-Block, I wouldn’t be around. But I heard about you and heard your music way before I met you.”
The conversation turn to focus on when both rappers felt that they were among the best in the game. For Jadakiss, it was being beloved by The Notorious B.I.G. “We used to write rhymes that we wanted him to hear. Then after being signed to Bad Boy, having him tell us “I’m glad y’all are down with me…”that’s a cream-of-the-crop moment right there.” Dave East concurred, citing a co-sign from Nas as his moment. “Having Esco co-sign me, then it was Rae, Meth and the Wu?,” he said. “Gotta cherish that moment man.”
They also spoke about the love they receive from fans on the road, with Dave East recounting how amazed he was on a recent tour date in Canada seeing fans recite songs word for word. It prompted Jadakiss to recall what he called “the worst show ever in life” involving him and a lack of comfortable boxers.

Cathy Hughes is a G on all levels. The Urban One founder has been named one of the “50 Greatest Hip-Hop Executives of All Time” by Variety.

The latest acknowledgment should be no surprise to anyone familiar with the Black radio pioneer. Hughes is in some historic alongside the likes of Bad Boy Records founder and current Revolt CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs, Epic Records Chairperson Sylvia Rhone and rapper turned mogul Jay-Z, amongst others. Considering Hip-Hop’s 50-year legacy of hustle, including Hughes was a no-brainer.
Per Variety:

She may not be a household name, but Hughes is a trailblazer for both female music executives and hip-hop culture. As the first female VP and general manager at WHUR in Washington, D.C., she pioneered the “Quiet Storm” format. She then founded Urban One (originally known as Radio One) in 1980, which became the largest Black-owned and -operated radio and television broadcast company in the U.S., and in 1999 was the first Black female to head a company listed on NASDAQ; by 2007, the company owned 70 stations in 22 markets. She has been listed as the second-richest Black woman in the United States — after Oprah Winfrey.
Nothing but respect, Cathy Hughes. Learn a bit more about her incredible and inspiring career in this 2019 feature in the PBS special BOSS: The Black Experience in Business below:

Steph Curry makes shots, no matter the sports. The NBA superstar made a hole-in-one during a celebrity golf tournament, adding another clip to his already impressive highlight reel.

On Saturday (July 15), Chef Curry made a hole-in-one at the American Century Championship celebrity tournament in Stateline, Nevada. Of course, a clip of the shot made it online and Curry can be seen hitting the golf ball, watching the drive and then excitedly sprinting down the fairway at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course to the green while celebrating like he just hit one of his NBA game-winners. He also slapped the flagstick for good measure.

“That was wild,” Curry told ESPN about the shot. “It was good contact, right at the stick, but even if you’re painting the flag and it looks good, you never really expect it to go in. I just saw a bunch of hands go up, and then you just kind of black out.”
When golf and Black people are involved, we thoroughly approve.
“Shooters Shoot!!! Hole In One vibes out here in Lake Tahoe,” wrote Curry on Twitter along with a photo of his scorecard after his feat.
Other celebrities participating in the golf tournament include Charles Barkley, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo.

Y’all already know that some of your favorite celebrities got lit during the Fourth of July holiday weekend, but someone you might’ve never heard of hosted damn near every A-list name to his pre-Independence Day celebration.

On Monday (July 3), Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin and his girlfriend Camile Fishel held their annual star-studded white party in the Hamptons. And though you might not be too familiar with their names, their guestlist featured some of the most famous music artists, actors and sports stars in the world. Attending their ultra-exclusive in-home blowout were the likes of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel Embid, Travis Scott, Kevin Hart, Odell Beckham Jr., Jennifer Lopez along with her man, third best Batman (Ben Affleck), and many others.
Was attending this party an order from the Illuminati or something?! Just having one or two of these names in your house is a sign that you’re a big deal but all of them plus more? How is this man not a household name? Usher and Ne-Yo took the stage for a surprise performance for God’s sake! Who catered this event? Gordon Ramsay? Bobby Flay? Salt Bae? We wanna know!
Check out pics and video of Michael Rubin and Camile Fishel’s pre-July 4th event in the gallery, and let us know if you’ll be having these two on your radar going forward in the comments section below.

Everything they say about Ted Lasso is true. On Monday (Feb. 27), Apple TV+ shared the trailer for the Emmy Award-winning show’s highly-anticipated third season.
Ted Lasso won Best Comedy Series Emmy’s for its first and second seasons, and season 3 is set to premiere its first episode on March 15, with news episodes (12 in total) every Wednesday.

It sounds like Season 3 is going to be another emotional roller coaster (in the best of ways) as college football coach turned soccer coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) leads the Richmond Greyhounds FC.
In the 12-episode third season of “Ted Lasso,” the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United. In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.
A global hit, Ted Lasso gets props for its exuberant optimism, a dynamic cast and characters you can’t help but root for. Also, Coach Lasso has been sporting a mean shoe game rocking some dope Nike trainers and Air Jordan.
No spoilers, but will be waiting on Nate to get his proper comeuppance all season. Just saying.
