JoJo Siwa wasn’t looking to find love on Celebrity Big Brother UK, but she did. And now that she and co-star Chris Hughes are officially dating, the dancer is opening up about how she realized he was the one for her.
Speaking to Gyles Brandreth on an episode of his Rosebud podcast posted Thursday, Siwa began by saying that “serendipity is Christopher and I’s favorite word now,” because “if you read the definition of it, it’s essentially finding love when you’re least looking for it.”
The Dance Moms alum went on to explain how her romance with the Love Island alum — the first few weeks of which played out in front of countless viewers as they both starred on the reality program’s 24th season — is the model of serendipity. “We just kind of bonded right away, and it started very much so as friends,” she explained, noting that the first things she noticed about her now-boyfriend was that he smelled good and was a “good hugger.”

“I wasn’t looking to fall for him, he wasn’t looking to fall for me,” she continued. “We’re having so much fun together, we’re having a laugh together. Whenever one of us was down, it was the other one that helped.”
Siwa and Hughes’ relationship is arguably the most memorable part of this Big Brother season, even though the couple didn’t get together until after it was over. While she was on the show, the “Karma” singer was dating Kath Ebbs, but they parted ways at the TV show’s wrap party.
On the podcast, Siwa appeared to touch on the breakup, telling Brandreth, “I had all these realizations in my life, things that I wasn’t happy [with], and things that I was being OK with that I should never have been OK with.
“I’m not happy, so I need to handle things, and I did very quickly once I got out of the house,” she added. “Over a little bit of time, I realized that I started to feel something for Christopher that I never intended to, but I couldn’t not feel. And I’m a very, very lucky girl because he was feeling the same thing.”
The interview comes just a few days after Hughes shared an intimate selfie of himself and Siwa cuddling in bed, after which the dancer told The Guardian newspaper, “It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head-over-heels for him and he’s the same way.”
Siwa later gushed about her relationship in an interview with Billboard, also telling Tetris Kelly about what it’s been like to navigate a public relationship while identifying as queer. “It’s really hard because people tear it apart,” she said. “I’ve dated beautiful women, I’ve dated beautiful nonbinary people, I have dated men… but I realize that’s just who I am. I realize for myself that I just like humans.”
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have called it quits after about eight years of on-and-off dating, People reports.
The magazine reported Wednesday (June 4) that the 48-year-old Coldplay frontman and 35-year-old actress recently split for good. The news comes a couple of weeks after they were spotted out together in Malibu, where they’d shared a home since 2021, in mid-May.
Billboard has reached out to reps for Martin and Johnson for comment.
Martin and Johnson first started dating in 2017. In 2024, People reported that the couple had been secretly engaged for years but weren’t in any rush to tie the knot.

The “Fix You” singer and Materialists star kept their relationship mostly private, though they did give fans a few looks into their romance over the years. In January 2022, they giggled together as Martin made a surprise cameo in one of his then-girlfriend’s Zoom calls while promoting the film Cha Cha Real Smooth, and a couple of months before that, Martin gave Johnson a sweet shout-out during a Coldplay concert in London.
“This is about my universe, and she’s here,” he told the crowd at the time, gesturing to the actress in the audience, before performing the band’s Billboard Hot 100-topping BTS collaboration “My Universe.”
“We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private,” Johnson told Elle UK in December 2021. “Most of the partying takes place inside my house.”
Prior to his relationship with the Fifty Shades of Grey star, Martin was married to Gwyneth Paltrow from 2003 to 2014. The pair share 21-year-old daughter Apple and 19-year-old son Moses, about whom Johnson told Bustle in 2024, “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.”
Johnson previously dated actor Jordan Masterson and musician Matthew Hitt.
News of Martin’s split from the Hollywood star comes amid Coldplay’s yearslong Music of the Spheres Tour, which clocked in at No. 1 on the Top Tours chart in April after shows in Asia drew $67.4 million with 502,000 tickets sold, according to Billboard Boxscore. The band’s last album, Moon Music, arrived in October and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
After sparking romance rumors for more than a year, Lucy Dacus finally confirmed that she and Boygenius bandmate Julien Baker were dating in March — but there’s still one thing about sharing her relationship publicly that makes the “Night Shift” singer “uncomfortable,” she says.
While speaking to The Forty-Five in an interview published Monday, Dacus began by talking about how her new album, Forever Is a Feeling, started out as a gift to her girlfriend, with the Virginia native initially confessing her feelings for the guitarist through some of the songs on the LP. “It was like, ‘OK, feelings are on the table, and we ought not touch them, because our relationship is too important, and I support what you want for your life,’” Dacus reflected.
“Or like, ‘Wow, what a surprise that we’re saying this out loud,’” she continued. “‘But let’s ultimately just say that we matter to each other and move on.’ That was real. That’s how I felt.”

Now that they’re together, however, Dacus says she isn’t exactly excited about the fact that fans will now be combing through the lyrics on Forever Is a Feeling for clues about her relationship with Baker. “In a way, that’s the bit that makes me feel uncomfortable,” she told the publication.
“The lore of it all – people treating our lives like a Marvel Universe,” added the songwriter. “But then again, what is lore if not the story? Some parts of my story I keep for myself, but this is the story that defines my life. So what am I gonna do?”
The interview comes a full seven years after Dacus, Baker and Phoebe Bridgers first established Boygenius, debuting the supergroup in 2018 with a self-titled EP. The trio reunited in 2023 to drop their first full-length album as a group, with The Record winning three Grammys at the following year’s awards show.
When finally addressing her relationship with her bandmate for the first time publicly last month, Dacus said in an interview with The New Yorker, “It’s been interesting, because I want to protect what is precious in my life, but also to be honest, and make art that’s true … Maybe a healthier way to think about it is that [my relationship]’s not actually fragile.”
She later told People, “It’s funny to just say it so plainly, because I feel like there’s all of this tension of people guessing.”
“I don’t know, we just talked about it kind of recently, and we were like, ‘What is actually at risk for people knowing this?’” she continued. “We wanted to be protective because it matters so much. I hope to God people knowing won’t make it a less true or pleasant experience … She’s ready to be telling people, too. So, from us to you, we are in love.”

Lady Gaga knew from the very beginning of her relationship with Michael Polansky that their romance was anything but shallow.
In an interview with The New York Times published Saturday (March 8) — one day after the pop star’s new album Mayhem arrived — Gaga recalled how she knew from the jump that her now-fiancé’s feelings for her were “genuine,” as opposed to the people before him who had ulterior motives in pursuing someone as famous as her.
“From the moment that I met Michael, he had the most warm and kind disposition of maybe anyone that I had met in my whole life,” she told the publication of the tech entrepreneur. “Yes, he was impressive, but the thing I cared about the most was he wanted to know about my family.”
At that point the 14-time Grammy winner apologized for tearing up before continuing. “I guess what I’m trying to say is, I knew Michael was genuine because he wanted to be my friend,” she gushed. “He didn’t want to do any of the things that the other people wanted to do. He wanted to take walks with me. He took me rock climbing. I also have a pain condition, but he had this belief that I could get better, and he inspired me to have more hope about it.”

Gaga and Polansky first met in 2019 and got engaged in 2024. The “Disease” singer has been open about how their relationship has reshaped her life, music included; the businessman was initially the person who encouraged her to return to her dance-pop roots on Mayhem, and he’s credited as a songwriter on many of the album’s tracks.
“We do a lot together,” she told Good Morning America in a March 7 interview. “He includes me in his business as well. He’s really creative, he plays guitar — he’s like a beautiful musician. We have a really creative relationship.”
In the same interview, Gaga also opened up about how she wants “marriage and kids” with Polansky “more than anything.” “We’d been talking for, like, three weeks on the phone every single day just getting to know each other, and Michael flew to Vegas when I was doing my show to take me on our first date,” she recalled. “And before we even sat down, I said, ‘Do you want marriage and kids?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah I do.’ And I said, ‘Yeah OK, great. Do you want some champagne?’”
While speaking to NYT, Gaga added that the authenticity of her connection with Polansky is a “new world for me.” “It’s not a good feeling to have so much trouble making friends,” she said. “Being actually friends with somebody is a very specific thing. You can sit in a room together and not talk. You can take long walks and talk about your family. You can obsess over a new recipe and make it. I don’t think it should be transactional, but I was around a lot of that all the time. So it’s a big blessing that I met someone that was not like that.”
Selena Gomez recently let Benny Blanco do her makeup — and let’s just say his artistic capabilities in the studio don’t quite transfer over to the salon.
In a hilarious Instagram video posted Thursday (March 6), the Only Murders in the Building star gave her enthusiastic fiancé free reign over her Rare Beauty products to give her a makeover. Blanco didn’t inspire a lot of faith in Gomez at the outset — the producer knocked their camera to the floor during an attempt at pressed powder — but after some repositioning and dusting of his partner’s face, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer complimented, “That’s good, babe! Now I’m proud.”
Things took a turn again, however, when Blanco held up a pigmented liquid bronzer, making Gomez shut her eyes in fear as he asked, “What is this called? What am I contouring?”

“When you do it, it looks so good!” the “Eastside” musician griped as he tried and failed to blend far too much of the deep brown liquid into her skin, only managing to spread the color onto more of her face.
Several layers of liquid blush, highlighter and lip oil — and many grimaces from Gomez — later, Blanco got to a point where he was happy with his work. “I really think I’m onto something, like if I blend these two together,” he mused. “I think it looks pretty good. You look so hot.”
Going off the expression on Gomez’s face at the end, she didn’t exactly agree with him — but at least he had fun. In the comments, the official Rare Beauty account joked, “@bennyblanco you’re hired.”
Though Blanco may not be the best help to his fiancée beauty-wise, the pair did recently — and much more successfully — team up on an upcoming joint album titled I Said I Love You First. Arriving March 21, the 14-track project features previously released singles “Scared of Loving You” and “Call Me When You Break Up” featuring Gracie Abrams. Earlier this week, Gomez unveiled the rest of the project’s tracklist.
The couple first started dating in summer 2023, a year and a half after which Blanco proposed to the singer-actress. They announced their album on their second Valentine’s Day together, with Gomez later telling Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe that the project is “a little taste of what we are and how we made this together, and how much we loved it and how much we love each other.”

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello may not be together as a couple anymore, but they’ll always be in each other’s lives.
In a new interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe published Thursday (Nov. 14), the Canadian singer-songwriter opened up about his lifelong friendship with the “Havana” musician, whom he dated 2019 to 2021 before they rekindled — and quickly ended — their romance in 2023. “I just think that we really know each other,” he said.
“I think we haven’t been the closest over the last couple of years, but I think we really know each other,” he continued. “We’ve spent a lot of time together. We really know each other’s hearts. So even when all of the sound and all the noise is happening, we can see through each other’s both pretty easily, and it’s just nice to have that.”
Both Mendes and Cabello have been increasingly open about their former relationship this past year, with the latter confirming on Call Her Daddy in March that they’d briefly tried to reconnect romantically before breaking up a second time. “I will always care about him and love him. He’s such a good person,” she said at the time. “I’m lucky ’cause some people have exes who are awful, and he is not. He’s a really kind, good person.”

In September, Mendes added to the conversation by saying on the Jay Shetty Podcast that he and Cabello were “preserving [their] private little fire of love for each other.” When a fan tweeted after the episode, “they don’t play about each other” — in reference to the former flames — the “Mercy” singer replied on X, “no we don’t.”
Then, when fans asked him to clarify what he mean, Mendes added, “i guess to be honest it came from a place of being a little annoyed with all the projection over the last few months about us. I’m usually pretty good at just watching all the “noise” go by but lately it’s been kinda bugging me 🤷🏻♂️ feeling human i guess.”
Mendes’ interview with Lowe comes one day ahead of his fifth studio album, Shawn. The LP was originally supposed to arrive Oct. 18 but was pushed back to Nov. 15 nine days before it was initially intended to come out. The project will follow 2020’s Wonder, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Since Taylor Swift became a major part of Kansas City Chiefs games, a couple of announcers have tripped up when referring to her during game day broadcasts — but Joe Buck doesn’t plan to fall into that trap.
After co-announcer Troy Aikman mistakenly referred to the pop star as Travis Kelce’s “Mrs.” during the Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints match on Monday, Buck revealed that such missteps wouldn’t fly in his house. “My daughters have warned me multiple times today: ‘Dad, I know you think you’re funny, don’t make any jokes,’” Buck told the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback on air.
Moments before that, cameras had panned to Swift’s reaction to one of Kelce’s second-quarter plays. As the “Anti-Hero” singer cheered and applauded her boyfriend, Aikman said: “The Mrs. likes it.”

“You know they’re not married?” Buck corrected him at the time, to which Aikman replied, “I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.”
“I mean, it happens,” added Buck.
Aikman’s slip-up comes about 10 months after Tony Romo made headlines for a similar reason. During a Chiefs game in the 2023-24 season — which later saw Kansas City win the Super Bowl — Romo accidentally said during his broadcast, “As you see Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience … I’m sorry, girlfriend.”
Currently on a break from her global Eras Tour, Swift has attended several Chiefs games so far this season to cheer Kelce on. At her most recent outing to Arrowhead Stadium, the 14-time Grammy winner sported a plaid dress, platform boots and eye-catching glitter freckles on her cheeks.
After the game ended with a Chiefs victory 26-13, the tight end joined Swift in her box suite and leaned in for a PDA-filled moment, as captured on camera by a fan. The team remains undefeated with a 5-0 record, and will next face off against their 2024 Super Bowl opponents, the San Francisco 49ers, on Oct. 20.
