DJ Akademiks is one of the most notable figures in the streaming space and his popularity has pushed him to an audience of younger viewers who engage with his content. However, DJ Akademiks is facing serious allegations of attempting to groom a teenage boy after asking him an inappropriate sexual question while later offering up an apology some feel came up short.
DJ Akademiks, 35, was in a livestream event with PlaqueBoyMax and the streamer’s moderator, NourGxd, who is 15. Ak, real name Livingston Allen, can be heard asking NourGxd if he would engage in sexual activities with Max. NourGxd shot down the advance by citing his age, causing Ak to double down and ask the teen if he would have sex with Max’s sister, who reportedly is over the age of 18.
Max seemed to join in on the fun and threatened to cut the teen from the streaming feed before Ak kept dreaming up odd scenarios including asking, quote, “You don’t know another 15-year-old you can bust down?” among other quips. NourGxd, seemingly uncomfortable at this point, expressed repeatedly that he’s not gay nor interested in doing what was suggested. Another streamer then asks NourGxd for his address to send strippers to his home.
The stream, which took place last Thursday (Jan. 23), went viral and has ignited a strong rallying cry accusing DJ Akademiks of grooming the teen and highlighting his defense of Drake, who has previously been slapped with similar allegations involving minors although those claims remain unfounded.
Ak has acknowledged his comments to NourGxd but most have taken note that the acknowledgment and the misplaced bravado attached to it nullifies any good intentions DJ Akademiks may have had. Reactions, including comments from rival Freddie Gibbs, Nitty Scott MC, and Meek Mill to the livestream going viral and Ak’s weak walk back can be viewed below.
We will share the video featuring Ak’s comments but do warn that the content might be triggering for some so proceed cautiously.

Jay-Z and his Roc Nation business have reportedly entered into a partnership with a South Korean company that will enable fans to invest in the music royalties of artists. The deal with Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and Musicow was mentioned late last year and is now in total fruition according to new reports.
As reported by Billboard, the partnership is framed as “the first Music Equity Service Provider in the United States” and will allow investors to earn while betting on music royalties and the like. The owners of the song rights will be able to trade royalty shares and they will be allowed to sell shares of those tracks.
As said by Roc Nation Vice Chairman, Jay Brown, “The music industry is evolving into a shared ecosystem where fans and creators can earn together. Our mission is not only to support and empower artists by providing the tools and services they need to build a better music ecosystem but also to give everyone access to the financial opportunities the music industry offers.”
Musicow CEO Woo Rhee added that partnering with the company is an “incredible opportunity to drive innovation and redefine the future of our industry. I’m confident that together, we have the vision, expertise, and enthusiasm to create transformative progress and unlock limitless potential.”
The Korea Economic Daily reported on this deal in November 2024, writing that Jay-Z was investing $5 million and would become the second-leading shareholder of the company.
The service is expected to launch in March of this year.

The daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Rev. Bernice A. King, condemned St. Louis rapper Sexxy Red for an AI photo post of her late father on the national holiday honoring his memory.
The 26-year-old rapper posted two AI photos of the Civil Rights icon on Monday (Jan. 20), to her X account. In one image, she is shown dancing seductively close to Dr. King while another shows her walking alongside King and other Civil Rights leaders. According to TheGrio, the posts garnered more than 50,000 likes before they were deleted.
Rev. King reacted to the images calling them “deplorable.”
“This is intentionally distasteful, dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful to my family and my father, who is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty,” she wrote in a reply on X the following day.
Within hours, Sexxy Red offered an apology to Rev. King, writing, “You ain’t wrong,” adding, “Never meant to disrespect your family my apologies. Just reposted something I saw that I thought was innocent.”
Rev. King, who is the CEO of The Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, accepted the rapper’s apology writing on X, in part, “Thank you for your apology, which I sincerely accept. Please know that it was not my intention that you be denigrated. I value you as a human being.”
“I hope you understand my concerns about the image,” she continued. “I know that my father has become a bit of a caricature to the world and that his image is often used with no regard to his family, his sacrificial work, or to the tragic, unjust way in which he died (a state-sanctioned assassination).”
She added, “I earnestly wish that people would imagine what it would feel like to see their deceased, murdered father repurposed for party fliers, unjust legislation, etc.”
She closed the note writing, “All the best to you, young lady.”
Other social media users were not as forgiving with many blasting the “Pound Town” rapper calling her “ghetto” and “trashy” among other names. Rev. King pushed back against those remarks as well, writing in reply to a post, “Please don’t project your thoughts onto me. I don’t believe Sexyy Red to be a ‘degenerate,’ ‘ghetto,’ or ‘trash.’ I have spoken out in the past about the use of and comparison to either of my parents to denigrate other people,” according to TheGrio.
In other news, Rev. King recently shared a statement on news that President Donald Trump plans to declassify her father’s FBI files. The statement read, “Today, our family has learned that President Trump has ordered the declassification of the remaining records pertaining to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and our father, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“For us, the assassination of our father is a deeply personal family loss that we have endured over the last 56 years. We hope to be provided the opportunity to review the files as a family prior to its public release.”
She added that at this time, the King Family is not taking any interviews as they await further information.

Sexyy Red is having a rather interesting 2025 so far, after clashing with the family of Martin Luther King Jr. over a poorly advised image use that she’s since apologized for. Sexyy Red is back to pushing the music once more and enlisted Bruno Mars for “Fat, Juicy & Wet” which has some fans wondering if the singer is in debt.
Sexyy Red’s brand of music is, in a word, southern-tinged “p*ssy rap” delivered in a raw, unapologetic fashion. So it begs the question of why a pop star of Bruno Mars’ magnitude would sign up to croon the words we’re sharing below.
The track opens with Mars singing the words, “Fat, juicy, and wet (Ah-ah)/I don’t even gangbang, p*ssy so good/Make me throw up a set (Ah-ah), uh/That good kitty-kitty, good kitty-kitty/Make it my pet (Ah-ah, ah-ah)/Pretty p*ssy type of pussy/You ain’t ever gon’ forget (Ah-ah)/Fat, juicy, and wet (Wet), wet (Wet), wet (Wet), wet (Wet).”
We’re not stating Mars is a saint or hasn’t cursed on a record before but to hear those words sung with such passion is almost comical. Then there is the business of the St. Louis rapper’s lyrics.
From Sexyy Red’s “Fat, Juicy & Wet”:
P*ssy like weed, p*ssy like dope
P*ssy like cocaine, put it up your nose
Ayy, slob on my cl*t, suck on my toes
Twenty-four karat, p*ssy drip like gold (Ooh)
Throw my legs back, eat my booty from the front (Mm)
Milk mustache on your face when I c*m (Yeah)
Hit it from the bottom, hit it from the top (Yeah)
Pop go the p*ssy ’cause the p*ssy say, “Pop”
Okay, then.
Produced by Bruno Mars and The Stereotypes, the track should get some requisite burn inside your classic shaky buns establishments but we’re not sure if this is going to chart beyond the strip club.
On X, folks are wondering why Bruno Mars joined Sexyy Red on “Fat, Juicy & Wet” in hilarious fashion. We’ve got those reactions below.

Snoop Dogg has received sharp criticism for performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Harry-O is now defending the MC for participating in the convicted felon’s event.
As spotted on TMZ, the man who is alleged to have provided Suge Knight the seed money to start Death Row Records is coming to the rescue of Snoop Dogg. While Suge Knight has always denied the claim a judge ruled in Harry-O’s favor back in 2005. Born Michael Harris, the former entertainment entrepreneur served almost 33 years in prison for drug charges. In 2021, he received a surprise pardon from then president of the United States, Donald Trump. Since his release, he has worked with Snoop Dogg in relaunching Death Row Records.
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Harry-O explained Snoop’s appearance at the inauguration wasn’t a political statement but an overall show of support to the now POTUS. “Snoop is a non-political guy. He didn’t want to get mixed into the politics so he kept who he felt should be the president to himself,” he said. “And whoever became the president he wanted to support them.” While this sounds feasible, Harry-O’s portrayal of Snoop isn’t exactly true.
Back in 2017, he appeared in the “Nightfall Remix” video, which featured him doing a mock execution on a clown that had strong resemblance to Donald Trump. In 2018, during an interview with DJ Suss One on SiriusXM, Snoop Dogg didn’t pull any punches with his opinion about both Donald Trump and Kanye West saying “f*** you and f*** him!”
You can see Harry-O discuss Snoop’s appearance below.

For the better part of the last year Diddy has been the subject of many people’s jokes, opinions, and overall slander, but now, it seems like “The Diddler” has had enough and is clapping back at two of his naysayers in a court of law.
According to TMZ, Diddy has just filed a lawsuit against grand jury witness, Courtney Burgees, and his lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, for what he says are “outlandish claims” and “baseless speculation” to feed the public’s desire for “wild lies.” This is particularly interesting given the fact that multiple people have accused Diddy of all kinds of sexual depravities against them, and yet, Diddy feels that these two particular people are spreading lies about him for media attention. Go figure.
As to what exactly prompted Diddy to take such legal action, he’s taking issue with a few of Burgees’ claims pertaining to Diddy’s now infamous secret tapes, which are rumored to feature all kinds of celebrities in compromising positions.
Per TMZ:
Diddy fired back at some specific claims in the lawsuit as well … calling out Burgess for alleging he possesses video of the star sexually assaulting celebrities and minors.
The rapper insists no such tapes exist … and says Burgess and Mitchell are simply telling “blatant falsehoods” or making “recklessly false statements.”
Diddy’s also firing back at Courtney’s claim that he received Kim Porter‘s memoir directly from her — saying those closest to Porter like her children and her roommate for more than 20 years have never even heard of him.
In his lawsuit, Diddy is suing both Burgess and Mitchell along with the company behind NewsNation for defamation and is asking for a whopping $50 million for their transgressions.
TMZ reached out to Ariel Mitchell about the lawsuit who responded with: “This is just a pathetic ploy to silence victims and people who stand up for victims. Diddy has time to sue but refuses to accept service for the lawsuits already filed against him. I look forward to countersuing and ensuring the court punishes not only Diddy but also his lawyers who filed this pathetic lawsuit for this frivolous and meritless filing.”
Should be interesting to see how this lawsuit pans out.
What do y’all expect the end result to be of Diddy’s lawsuit against Courtney Burgess and Ariel Mitchell? Let us know in the comments section below.

The 97th Annual Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, will take place next month with Conan O’Brien hosting, replacing Jimmy Kimmel from a year prior.
Top of the ticket, the Best Picture nominees are Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked.

Barry Michael Cooper, a writer who penned the screenplay for New Jack City and reportedly coined the phrase “New Jack Swing,” has died. Barry Michael Cooper’s other works include writings in The Village Voice and lent his abilities to other notable films etched in the lore of Black cinema.
According to a report from TMZ, Barry Michael Cooper passed away this past Tuesday (Jan. 21) in his adopted city of Baltimore, Md., where Cooper resided after penning screenplays for New Jack City, Sugar Hill, and Above The Rim, the “Harlem Trilogy” as the trio of films are sometimes called.
Prior to his screenwriting success in the 1990s, Cooper was a music critic for The Village Voice between 1980 and 1989. He also penned the piece “Teddy Riley’s New Jack Swing: Harlem Gangsters Raise A Genius,” with some giving him credit for naming the music style of New Jack Swing that Riley innovated as a producer and member of the R&B trio Guy.
Writer Nelson George penned a short but moving obituary piece for Cooper via his Substack site and highlighted the pair’s longtime connection and Cooper’s allegiance to Harlem despite relocating to Baltimore years ago.
From The Nelson George Mixtape:
Barry Michael Cooper died today in Baltimore, according to his son Mathew. It’ll take me a minute to gather all my thoughts, but just wanted to thank him for recommending to Robert Christgau at the Village Voice when I was trying to write for the Riffs section back in 1981. It was a key moment in my career and life. Barry helped define pop culture in the ‘80s and ‘90s with his early reporting on crack, by naming Teddy Riley’s sound “new jack swing,” and writing star vehicles for Wesley Snipes (New Jack City, Sugar Hill) and Tupac (Above the Rim.) Though he lived much of the last decades of his life in Baltimore, he was Harlem to his core.
Barry Michael Cooper was 66.
