J-Hope gave fans a fun military update on Tuesday night (May 23) when he took to his Instagram Stories to share a photo of himself in his uniform. In the photo, the 29-year-old BTS star is seen giving a soft smile as he salutes the camera. See the photo before it disappears here. Over on […]

It’s been an incredible 10 years since BTS’ debut, and the international superstars are celebrating the milestone with BTS 10th Anniversary FESTA. The annual festival will take place on June 17 in Seoul, South Korea. The announcement was made on Wednesday (May 24) via a teaser video with the slogan “BTS Presents Everywhere” written across […]

When Jimin touched down in New York City to promote his solo debut album FACE, Vogue caught it all on video. The fashion magazine released a day-in-the-life video with the BTS singer in which he gets ready to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The video kicks off with the K-pop star taking a look through his wardrobe for his upcoming television performance. “I’ll be performing at the Jimmy Fallon show tomorrow. The vibe of this outfit is a bit like I’ve become the star in the club, this sparkling outfit,” he excitedly tells the camera.

Appearing on Fallon was a major full-circle moment for Jimin. “The place I’m shooting at tomorrow, right around that located is where I first performed in the U.S., for 20,000 to 30,000 people,” he explained. “ARMY is the name of our BTS fanbase. ARMY would translate all our songs in English for us and keep sending them to America. Then, thanks to our American fans, we could get played on the radio. That’s how I was able to come here. This time, I’m releasing my first solo album.”

The K-pop vocalist then caught up with record producer Pdogg, who played a crucial role in helping craft FACE. “Last time I was in the States, I spoke with the other BTS members about how I wanted to make an album, so I called Pdogg right away and he immediately told me to come over,” Jimin said. “So we met up and talked about what kind of songs I wanted to make.”

After a brief stop to go record shopping, Jimin heads to the studio to perfect his dance moves before appearing on television.

It’s finally here! Fans are getting their first taste of Suga‘s upcoming album D-Day with “People Pt. 2,” featuring IU, released on Friday (April 7).

“People Pt.2” serves as the follow-up to Suga’s “People,” which originally appeared on the BTS rapper’s second mixtape, D-2. It’s also hardly the first time the BTS superstar has teamed up with IU, who released her track “Eight” in 2020 with Suga on vocals and song production.

The new song also serves as the lead single from Suga’s debut solo album, D-DAY, which arrives on April 21 under the name Agust D.

D-DAY marks the final release of the rapper-dancer’s mixtape trilogy. Suga’s debut mixtape, Agust D, arrived in 2016, highlighting his hardcore rap and underground influences with help from writer-producers Slow Rabbit, June, Pdogg and Supreme Boi. The BTS star followed up with 2020’s D-2 mixtape, which charted at No. 9 on the Top Rap Albums chart and No. 11 on the Billboard 200.

Jimin made history on Monday (April 3) when his new single “Like Crazy” scored the BTS singer his very first solo No. 1 on the Hot 100, marking the first solo South Korean artist to reach the summit.

The superstar took to Instagram following the news to thank his fans, sharing a screenshot of the latest Hot 100 top 10. “Love u all,” he captioned the post with purple heart emojis.

The Hot 100 start for “Like Crazy” was largely driven by sales, with five versions available during the chart’s tracking week. The song was released March 24 on Jimin’s debut solo set FACE, which enters at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The six-track project was preceded by the pre-release single “Set Me Free, Pt. 2.” With production by Pdogg, Ghstloop, Supreme Boi, BLVSH and Evan, the project also features songwriting credits on three tracks from bandmate RM.

Jimin and the rest of BTS previously became the first all-South Korean group to lead the Hot 100, with “Dynamite” in 2020.

In an interview with Consequence previewing FACE, Jimin admitted each of his bandmates have been anxious over going solo as they focused on individual projects, but “their results were absolutely great.” (Recent solo efforts have included J-Hope’s old-school hip-hop-leaning Jack in the Box, RM’s eclectic, collab-packed Indigo and Jin’s single “The Astronaut,” which was co-written by Coldplay and released before he started his mandatory enlistment in the Korean military.)

Jung Kook is the latest K-pop star to team up with Calvin Klein, and the superstar dropped jaws with his steamy first campaign as global brand ambassador, which dropped in full on Tuesday (March 28).

In the clip, shot by photographer Park Jong Ha, Jung Kook rocks Calvin Klein jeans as he lounges around on a leather couch and flirts with the camera. Zayde Wølf’s “King” soundtracks the 30-second spot, as the BTS star smiles at the camera to the tune of the fitting lyrics, “It’s good to be king.”

It’s been an exciting year for Jung Kook, particularly in music, with a string of solo sings. Days after the release of BTS’ anthology album Proof in June 2022, Jung Kook took to the group’s SoundCloud account to share another meaningful song for fans. “My You” is filled with touching messages to the ARMY, made evident through moving lyrics that reference the group’s unofficial color: “Shining purple light/ Thankful to be by your side now.”

Jung Kook also teamed up with Charlie Puth for the catchy “Left and Right,” before making his biggest global move as a soloist when he performed the song “Dreamers” at the 2022 World Cup opening ceremony as part of its official soundtrack. The RedOne-produced dance track and saw Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi join him on stage for the performance.

Jimin is having a big week on Billboard’s latest charts (dated April 1). The South Korean singer/dancer becomes the first member of BTS to score an unaccompanied solo top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as his “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” debuts at No. 30.

The song, released March 17 via BigHit Music/Geffen/Interscope Records, starts with 6.4 million U.S. streams and 63,000 downloads sold in its opening week, according to Luminate. It concurrently launches at No. 1 on both the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart and World Digital Song Sales, marking his second leader on each list.

The single also starts at No. 5 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and No. 8 on the Billboard Global 200 (56 million streams; 42,000 sold worldwide).

“Set Me Free, Pt. 2” is Jimin’s second solo entry on the Hot 100 outside BTS (which boasts six No. 1s, among six top 10s). He first charted beyond the group with his TAEYANG collab, “Vibe,” in January (No. 76 peak), and became the seventh and final member of BTS to score a solo entry on the Hot 100.

Of the 14 solo songs by BTS members to hit the Hot 100, “Free” is the third to reach the top 40, and the first unaccompanied. Juice WRLD and Suga’s “Girl of My Dreams” hit No. 29 in 2021 and Charlie Puth’s “Left and Right,” featuring Jung Kook, peaked at No. 22 in 2022.

Here’s a look at every song by a BTS member to chart on the Hot 100, listed chronologically:

Jimin also becomes the seventh member of BTS to hit No. 1 on the Emerging Artists chart, thanks to “Free.” RM was the first, for a week in November 2018, followed by Suga, for a week in December 2021; V (one week, January 2022); Jung Kook (one week, February 2022); J-Hope (one week, July 2022); and JIN (one week, November 2022). (Suga also appeared on the chart via the moniker Agust D in 2018.)

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard’s “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings.

Jimin‘s debut solo album, Face, has topped this week’s new music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (March 24) on Billboard, choosing the BTS member’s six-track project as their favorite new music release of the past week.

Face, which arrived on March 24 via HYBE LABELS, brought in 74% of the vote, beating out new music from Lana Del Rey (Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd), Ed Sheeran (“Eyes Closed”), Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro (RR), Luke Combs (Gettin’ Old), and others.

Face was preceded by pre-release single “Set Me Free, Pt.2” and its dance-heavy music video. The new album also contains “Like Crazy,” album opener “Face-Off,” and more. In addition to production from the likes of Pdogg, Ghstloop and Evan, Jimin’s BTS bandmate RM also has songwriting credits on three songs on the tracklist.

In an interview with Consequence previewing Face, Jimin admitted each of his bandmates have been anxious over going solo as they focused on individual projects, but “their results were absolutely great.” (Recent solo efforts have included J-Hope’s old-school hip-hop-leaning Jack in the Box, RM’s eclectic, collab-packed Indigo, and Jin’s single “The Astronaut,” which was co-written by Coldplay and released before he started his mandatory enlistment in the Korean military.)

Jimin himself was also nervous for his solo debut before its grand unveiling, explaining, “I don’t want to be an embarrassment to my members. I want to be a proud member of BTS” before hinting that the album will explore “how I overcame… If people understand the emotions I’m trying to express, I’ll consider the album a success.”

Trailing behind Jimin on the fan-voted poll was Del Rey’s ninth album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, with 21% of the vote. In the set, the songstress muses on sex, devotion, family and American decay, but this time with a series of guests — including Tommy Genesis, Jon Batiste and Bleachers — providing an assist. The set shows once again that Del Rey is trying to challenge herself in ways she previously hasn’t.

The Love on Tour lovefest continues!

After Harry Styles performed a star-studded concert in Seoul, South Korea, BTS members RM, Suga, V and Jung Kook caught up with the pop star backstage and shared snaps from their meeting on Monday.

RM and V posted the crossover moment to their respective Instagram Stories. Both pictures sees the BTS idols with their arms around Styles or crouching down, holding up a peace sign and double K-pop finger hearts. RM shared the photo to his Story with a pink heart, while V opted for several disco emojis.

Styles’ Love on Tour stop in Seoul honored BTS by playing the group’s 2020 smash hit — which also served as the group’s first single to debut at No. 1 the Billboard Hot 100 — in the concert’s pre-show playlist.

As for the actual concert, Taekook — Taehyung (V) and Jung Kook — began trending on Twitter shortly after appearing in the audience energetically dancing as Styles performed One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.” (RM and Suga were also spotted in the audience, but sat in separate locations from V and Jung Kook.)
