Along with Hip-Hop, Nas also turned 50 years old this year and the rapper teamed with Hennessy to celebrate the milestone with a party that featured a gang of high-profile guests including Kendrick Lamar, Diddy, Fat Joe and more.
The festivities went down at The Grill in New York City and featured Nas being presented with a sculpture from artists Kennedy Yanko that was commissioned by Hennessy. The copper sculpture was partially inspired by Nas’ collab with Hennessy on his special 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop Hennessy V.S. bottle.
At the party, the music was in the best of hands with DJ Jazzy Jeff on the turntables and The Roots holding down the stage. In attendance was a who’s who of Hip-Hop and R&B celebrities including Mary J. Blige, NORE, DJ Premier, The Lox,Havoc, AZ, Raekwon, Slick Rick, Q-Tip, Ralph McDaniels, and more. Oh yeah, former NBA star Carmelo Anthony and actor Robert DeNiro were there, too.
Also, you know you’re solid when Raekwon takes time to big you up on your born day.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky continue to ride the wave of parenthood their way. The rapper shared some family photos in honor of his son’s first birthday.
As spotted on Huffington Post the Harlem, New York native is showing all is teeth and it is not to stunt his gold grill. Last week his son turned twelve months and he celebrated the moment by posting several candid photos of the Mayers family. The carousel post featured eight photos of Pretty Flacko, Bad Gal Riri and their newborn prince.
All of the visuals seemed to be candid as everyone was just caught enjoying all the love in the air. As expected the outfits, which varied from dressy to hobo chic to matching pajama sets, all hit. Additionally one of the slides was a video that showed Rocky rocking the baby back and forth to the kid’s delight. “Big head man,” he said right before he kissed him on the forehead. On the caption he also seemingly confirmed that they did name their son after the founder of Wu-Tang Clan. “WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN 🤲” HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN . RZA❤️” he wrote.

Lizzo turned another year older on Thursday (April 27) and celebrated by, well, wishing herself a happy birthday on social media.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZZO,” the singer wrote on Instagram alongside a video of herself blowing out the candles on a marbled birthday cake featuring a portrait of her face framed by thick gold icing. She went even harder on TikTok by cheekily demanding, “IF 26.9 MILLION PEOPLE DONT WISH ME HAPPY BIRTHDAY IM QUITTING.”
While Lizzo posted the same celebratory video from her Instagram, the star also played her own 2022 song “Birthday Girl” over the clip on TikTok, her voice gleefully singing, “Is it your birthday, girl?/ ‘Cause you lookin’ like a present.” (Turns out the track is a reliable perennial for the hitmaker, considering she also used it to mark her birthday — and the official start of Taurus season — in 2022.)
Plenty of the “Grrrls” singer’s famous friends hopped into the comments to help celebrate her day. Chlöe Bailey wrote, “happy birthday beautiful,” while her younger sister Halle Bailey echoed her sentiments with birthday wishes of her own. Meanwhile, Lil Nas X, Saucy Santana, Yara Shahidi and others also filled Lizzo’s comments section with love.
This year, the Yitty designer is marking her birthday from the road as she’s in the middle of another trek across North America in support of her 2022 album Special. So far, she’s used the tour to protest anti-LGBTQ+ laws in Tennessee with help from several queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race, design a custom tattoo for a fan mid-show, dance in a bikini in front of the famous St. Louis Arch and more.
Watch Lizzo revel in her birthday festivities below.
There’s nothing sweeter than the relationship between Billie Eilish and her mom, Maggie Baird.
The “Bad Guy” superstar took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday (March 29) to celebrate her mother’s 64th birthday with a sweet post.
“Happy birthday mama,” Eilish captioned a snap of Baird smiling at the camera while playing badminton in a garden. “You make the world go round. I told you yesterday that when I think about how much I love you, I want to sob and throw up. @maggiembaird love you so much [pink heart emojis].”

“She works so unbelievably hard,” the 21-year-old multi-Grammy winner previously told People of hers and Finneas’ mom. “She is so selfless, and she cares so much about people and the world in a way that I don’t think you could even believe is possible.”
She continued, “We, as people, hope for change, but often we just think it and say it. My mom is one of those people who really does it, and that’s so amazing to me.”
In 2022, Eilish and Baird were honored with the Environmental Media Association’s Missions in Music Award “for their incredible work as role models for sustainable behaviors,” including Eilish’s Happier Than Ever, The World Tour, the organization said.
Together, Eilish and Baird created “Overheated,” an extra component with climate-focused activities including clothing swaps, documentary screenings and veganism talks as part of an effort to communicate issues related to sustainable fashion and encourage fans to participate. It was organized in collaboration with Baird’s charity, Support + Feed, which takes on food insecurity and the climate crisis with plant-based food.
Katy Perry celebrated American Idol‘s 21st anniversary by posting a picture from her own sweet 21. The now-38-year-old singer shared the fresh-faced pic with fans on Sunday (March 5), in which she posed makeup-free in a tan, fringed-sleeve t-shirt while smiling into the camera.
“#idol is celebrating its 21st bday this year. When I turned 21 I rented a roller skating rink 🛼 and had McDonald’s 🫶🏼 “cater” along w/ 2 kegs in the middle of the rink,” Perry wrote in the caption to the backstage snap. “And two friends broke bones but we had a lot of fun (so I was told idk I had just turned 21 🤸🏻♀️🍹) anyway watch #idol rn.” The singer also encouraged her fans to let her know what they did for their 21st, if they can remember it.
Their answers were hilarious, ranging from a dinner at Olive Garden with mom and dad and a first taste of wine (with the ‘rents, anyway), to a trip to the hospital for gallbladder surgery and a pregnant woman who went to see the Ramones. There was even the tale of a Hawaiian-themed party in snow-packed Vail, Colorado in Dec. 1985 where all the guests showed up in shorts and Hawaiian shirts.
Perry has been posting up at the Idol judge’s desk since 2018 with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan and the trio kicked off the show’s 21st season on Feb. 19; Idol airs on ABC on Sundays at 8 p.m.

Justin Bieber celebrated his 29th birthday with a carnival-themed blowout that drew an A-list crowd of friends and fellow musicians over the weekend. Bieber commemorated the event by posting a series of snaps from the celebration on Sunday (March 5), including one with superfan-turned-pal Billie Eilish — smiling as she points to Justin, who is decked out in a backwards blue baseball hat, grey sweatshirt and baggy blue tie-dye cargo pants.
The series from photographer Ryan Kramer also finds Bieber — whose birthday was on March 1 — staring up at some unseen object while surrounded by a forest of colorful balloons and performing a private concert for his pals from a stage featuring a huge rainbow surrounded by colorful mushroom sculptures.
The slideshow also captures Leon Bridges performing with a band, with Justin sitting in on drums and then hopping up to give Bridges a huge hug. That run of pics has Justin hanging with rapper Don Toliver and wife Hailey Bieber, as well as friend Jaden Smith; a few days earlier model Hailey Bieber posted a sweet tribute to her husband, “29 never looked so good ☺️Happy Birthday to you best friend!” she wrote. “Words couldn’t possibly sum up all that you embody. So here’s to more joy, more travel, yummy food, adventures, more peace, fun, and most of all more love.”
A second set of pics features a run of goofing around shots of Bieber and The Kid LAROI and the “Peaches” singer sitting in for another set during the party, while the third catches JB performing as his pals sit on rainbow-colored pillows on the ground, with some rocking a commemorative “Bieber 29” hoodie.
It proved to be a busy weekend for JB, who also found time to take the stage with Toliver during the rapper’s set a the 2023 Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles on Saturday, where the friends reprised their collaboration on “Private Landing” from Toliver’s new Love Sick album.
All this activity came just days after Bieber appeared to pull the plug on all the rescheduled and remaining dates on his Justice World tour with no public explanation. While the singer has not yet spoken about the tour news, he removed the list of 80 dates with no explanation last week; at press time no tour dates were listed on Bieber’s official site and his spokesperson had not returned Billboard‘s request for comment. Last week Ticketmaster’s site listed all the 2023 Justice dates as canceled just as Bieber was slated to pick things up again with a March 2 date in Dublin.
In June, Bieber told fans that he would take a break from the road after one month of dates because of the effects of the neurological disorder Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, which left his face partially paralyzed. “As a result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour,” he wrote in a message to fans at the time. Bieber went on to explain that after taking some time to rest and consult with his family and doctors, he went ahead with the European leg of his tour.
“After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now,” he explained about how he felt after completing his Rock in Rio set in September. “So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better.”
He got back on the stage a month later, but after just six shows he said he need to take a break again. The AEG Presents-promoted Justice tour was Bieber’s first global outing since the 2016-2017 Purpose World Tour. It was unclear at press time if Bieber’s tour cancelation was related to his recovery from Ramsay-Hunt.
