Taylor Swift towers over the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Dec. 9), as she holds a whopping five titles in the region. She is the first living act to have five albums concurrently in the top 10 since the Billboard 200 was combined from its previously separate mono and stereo album charts into one all-encompassing list in August of 1963.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Dec. 9, 2023-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Dec. 5. Cher joins the Rolling Stones with at least one new No. 1 on a Billboard songs chart in each of the seven decades from the 1960s through the 2020s (excluding any Bubbling Under rankings).
Cher scored her first No. 1 as half of Sonny & Cher, when “I Got You Babe” topped the Billboard Hot 100 dated Aug. 14, 1965.
In the 1970s, she logged a trio of Hot 100 No. 1s of her own: “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves” in 1971, “Half-Breed” in 1973 and “Dark Lady” in 1974. She also claimed another No. 1 with Sonny, “All I Ever Need Is You,” on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart in 1971.
In the 1980s, Cher landed a pair of No. 1s on the Adult Contemporary chart in 1989 with “After All,” with Peter Cetera, and “If I Could Turn Back Time.” In the next decade, Cher returned to No. 1 on the Hot 100 with “Believe” in 1999, and it also crowned the Dance Club Songs tally. She notched two more No. 1s on the Dance Club Songs list that decade: “Strong Enough” and “All or Nothing.” (Cher additionally topped other Billboard rankings that decade, such as the now-defunct Hot Singles Sales and Dance Singles Sales charts.)
In the 2000s, Cher achieved three more No. 1s on the Dance Club Songs chart with “Song for the Lonely” (it also topped the Dance Singles Sales list) and “A Different Kind of Love Song” in 2002, and “When the Money’s Gone” in 2003. The following decade, she racked up further No. 1s on Dance Club Songs with “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” in 2011 and “Woman’s World” in 2013.
The Rolling Stones, meanwhile, began their streak of No. 1 songs in seven straight decades just a month before Cher, when “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 dated July 10, 1965. They most recently led a songs survey with “Living in a Ghost Town,” which ruled the Rock Digital Song Sales chart dated May 9, 2020.

Lola Brooke explains the stories behind these photos with Billboard.
Lola Brooke:What’s up, y’all? It’s your girl, Lola Brooke, and I am going behind the photos with Billboard.
Oh, she’s smiling at me like she’s proud. OK, so this was in Atlanta, I just couldn’t believe she wanted me to come out because this is the thing — I performed with Ciara and then she allowed me to perform my single “Don’t Play With It.” As an artist, when you come on somebody’s set and they allowed you to do that, that means, like, they really respect your craft, so I had to make sure I put on the show for CiCi OK. I love you CiCi, thank you so much.
Oh my god. I’m literally the size of the baby and I act like a baby sometimes too, and I’m really, really, really spoiled. I like to be carried around because sometimes, everyone is so huge that I can’t see where I’m going. When I’m being carried, I can see literally everything that’s around me, so this is when I’m tall.
Ah! Don’t play with them girls! Do not play with them girls at all. They’re not to be played with. This was literally before we shot “Don’t Play With It (Remix),” and we were sitting in a sprinter trying to cope with the weather. It was freezing outside. We wanted to look cute. The girls were a vibe and I appreciate them so much because for one, it was a long day. We literally went to every single borough to shoot “Don’t Play With It (Remix),” and they were willing, like, they didn’t leave me out there by myself. They were willing, so love you guys.
Now this right here is, Billboard, you is so funny for this one because this was SXSW. It’s, like, two fun facts about this event. Watch the full video above!
