Fuerza Regida takes us inside Street Mob Records’ headquarters and shares the story behind its success with 111XPANTIA hitting No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the first regional Mexican album to achieve this milestone. They also talk about why they love giving back to the community, how the band got its start, the group’s 10-year anniversary and more!
What do you think of 111XPANTIA? Let us know in the comments!
Griselda Flores: Hi, I’m Billboard‘s Griselda Flores, and I’m joined by JOP and Fuerza Regida, and they’re taking me out to eat hibachi. And we’re talking all about the community, 111XPANTIA making history and the come-up of Fuerza Regida.
Fuerza Regida: Fuerza Regida.
So where are we? We’re in Rancho Cucamonga.
We’re in Rancho Cucamonga. Right now we’re at the compound, Street Mob Records headquarters, and we order the truck every time here and there we get hungry, you know, like, bring the truck for all the employees and stuff.
Oh, OK, you guys could live wherever you want. Why stay in the area?
Because we’re from over here. We don’t want to move. I’d probably never leave from here.
Seriously?
I’m gonna cut you off, I’m gonna take this off because it’s hot.
I do want to congratulate you guys because 111XPANTIA, it made history. It was the first time that two Spanish language albums were No. 1 and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Why do you think it was this album that made it happen?
The fans. Last album, right? They were talking a lot of s–t, right? And this album, they talked a little less, like last time, when they talked, they s–t for, like, what, for like, two weeks, no for like a month. And this album? Like a couple days because they were upset that it wasn’t like old Fuerza Regida, which is, like 2018. But I had to give them one track. And now we now we know that the fans really wanted that, and that one track is like No. 1 …

Billboard cover star Brandon Lake takes us through 24 hours into his life and shows the studio where he created “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” how he was able to get Jelly Roll on the song, where he goes to ground himself and relax from touring, how he first started singing, his relationship with the local church […]
Addison Rae recently released her debut album ‘Addison,’ and we’re taking you behind the scenes of how Addison blew up from “Diet Pepsi” to releasing her first album. What do you think of ‘Addison’? The Billboard video staff is reacting to Miley Cyrus’ joke about JoJo Siwa’s sexuality seemingly changing with her new relationship with her fellow Big Brother contestant, Chris Hughes and the conversation on social media that goes on regarding sexuality and celebrities especially during Pride month.
Tetris Kelly
All right, so guys, I don’t know if you saw it. At World Pride, Miley Cyrus posted a little video in which she said, “I’m gonna go back into the closet where maybe I can find JoJo Siwa.”
Well, as we all know, JoJo Siwa is now publicly dating a man, Chris, and so people are saying like, Hey, did she go back in the closet? Was she fake gay? There’s a whole thing.
Judy Sanchez
I’m kind of shocked that Miley would say that.
Stefanie Tanaka
I mean, I think people have been kind of accusing a lot of stars of doing that. They were talking about Fletcher also, like, dating a man after she said that she was a lesbian or something.
Tetris Kelly
I mean, we all know that sexuality is on the spectrum for pretty much everybody, so you should be able to kind of do what you want to do. I don’t think it changes anything for JoJo. But what is interesting to me is that JoJo has always, in multiple interviews, multiple times, gave a lot of credit to Miley Cyrus. So what’s to be said when somebody that you look up to is commenting on your personal life? Because now JoJo is speaking out about it.
Jerah Milligan
Wait. So my question is, is Miley gay?
Stefanie Tanaka
She said she’s pansexual, which means that her sexuality is fluid. So, I mean, that’s not necessarily saying that she doesn’t, she can’t date a man, right? You know, just she said before that she doesn’t really care about, like, you know gender.
Judy Sanchez
She’s so hung up on the label. Yeah, she herself. Well, I think Miley’s brand is so, like, free and, fluid.
Stefanie Tanaka
Well, I feel like people are more hung up on labels, like, if you say that you’re gay, they’re like, you have to be gay. Well, she’s like, I don’t know if it works that way.
Jerah Milligan
She can’t be bi? I guess my thing is like, look, I guess I’m confused on what’s wrong. And like, she dates women, now she’s dating a dude. She could date a woman after this dude.

The Billboard video staff reacts to Taylor Swift buying back her masters, including our thoughts on ‘Reputation (Taylor’s Version)’ not being re-recorded, how we feel about ‘Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version)’ coming out, what this means next for Taylor’s career and more.
Jerah Milligan
You know, good for her. All right? She’s not giving you a remix. She’s not giving you a reboot. She’s like, it’s perfect. Enjoy it. People need to do that. Movies need to do that. TV shows need to do that. It’s perfect. Let it cook.
Tetris Kelly
All right team, so they are all Taylor’s Versions now. Taylor Swift has bought her masters back, you know, after all, the re-records. Billboard, we’re the people that reported she spent around $360 million to get it all back. How we feeling?
Evan Burke
I mean, that’s pocket change for her.
Tetris Kelly
I mean, as a billionaire, you know…
Stefanie Tanaka
Pocket change, but I think it’s like, you know, it’s substantial, because not all artists hold their masters, and now she does, and this has been something that she’s been trying to do, and she has set out. She said, when she started her ‘Taylor’s Verison,’ this is something she set out to do, and if she had the opportunity to buy them, she would.
Judy Sanchez
I think it’s a total boss move, you know, and it really grabs, like, here she is taking control of her art and her music.
Tetris Kelly
Like a group project, though, right?
Jerah Milligan
Yeah, wait. So she got the ones she re-recorded, but then she got the originals.
Tetris Kelly
Now she owns the original.
Jerah Milligan
So now she got two sets of the same records.
Stefanie Tanaka
So under her new record deal with Republic, she owns her albums. So ‘Lover,’ ‘Folklore,’ ‘Evermore,’ ‘Midnights’ and ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ and all the Taylor’s Versions. She owns the rights to those, but her old, her old ones with her old label Big Machine Records, when they were bought out by UMG, she didn’t own those. So now she owns them all. She owns all the music videos, all the movies, everything she’s spent her whole life creating.

WWE Women’s Money In the Bank and current Women’s champ, Tiffany Stratton talks about her love for Sabrina Carpenter and how she inspires her ring outfits, wanting to see Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion in the ring, what song best describes her rivalry with Nia, who from ‘Love Island’ would do best in the ring and more!
Noah Reardon: I’m Noah with Billboard, and we have Tiffany Stratton, our Women’s Champion. She is. It’s over 150 days now.
Tiffany Stratton: Yes, it’s crazy. It just flew by.
Yeah, and also Ms. Money in the Bank 2024 — how does it feel being back today?
Honestly, I feel like things should be more chaotic for me. I feel like I just got here and I’m already the champion, and I’m just sitting back and and watching these girls fight for my title. So it’s, it’s super it’s super cool to watch. And just kind of sit back and enjoy the show.
I love that. So, last night, we saw what happened — is Strapley no more? Are you gonna be able to make Rhea wear pink?
To me, Strapley is never over. She has a special place in my heart, and I’m gonna try and make Rhea Ripley wear pink. It’s gonna happen one day. I guarantee it.
I would love to hear, I know you’re a big Sabrina Carpenter fan, the new song “Manchild” just came out. Have you heard it?
I have heard it, and I love it. It’s the summer anthem.
On that note, what songs of the summer are you ramping up right now?
Obviously, “Manchild,” I feel like anything country right now. I’m really loving Megan Moroney, Morgan Wallen, obviously I’m loving all the Post Malone and the Morgan Wallen collaborations and stuff like that.

Ahead of his performance at the palenque during the San Marcos Fair, Billboard cover star Carín León reflects on his pride in being Mexican, the significance of palenques to him, and his career trajectory — starting in a band and transitioning to a solo artist.
He also discusses collaborating with C. Tangana, how “The One” with Kane Brown came to life, the country musicians he’s working with on his new album, his acceptance within the country music community, and his collaborations with Maluma, Alejandro Fernández and more.
Leila Cobo:
Carín!
Carín León:
Hi!
Welcome to my hacienda in Aguascalientes.
Thank you, thank you for the invitation. I’m so happy to be here.
Aguascalientes is — for those who don’t know — we’re here because tonight you’re going to perform at el palenque at the fair in San Marcos.
That’s right.
So what is the San Marcos fair?
The best Mexican music and Latin music is presented, too. So, it’s a huge party that I think, as you noticed yesterday, it’s a big party. The experience is worth living once in a lifetime.
And it’s music, music, music, and more music?
Music, shots, food. A lot of Mexico in one month. Too much Mexico that can cause havoc.
So this is an experience that is natively Mexican?
It’s the most Mexican, I think, that you can see in music, a palenque. I always tell people, “You have to see your artist at a palenque to understand what the experience is to take it all the way.” And the artists, too, appreciate the format of the palenque, we love it. The majority of my colleagues love it because you have all the people super close.
Like on top of each other.
Yes.
So, you’re there on stage, and I’m at this distance here.
Yes, easily. You can just be there with the people and drink some shots, it’s beautiful, it’s a communion of public that’s really interesting compared to shows at tours.
Completely. I’m going to show you my gardens.
It’s really beautiful, honestly.
Right?

Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales. The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Pure album sales were the sole measurement utilized by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the list dated Dec. 6, 2014, after which that chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album (TEA) units and streaming equivalent album (SEA) units.
Miley Cyrus’ Something Beautiful debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales with 27,000 copies sold, marking her 15th top 10 (inclusive of titles credited to her Disney Channel character Hannah Montana). Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem falls to No. 3 (16,000; down 45%) after two weeks atop the list.
Two Swift albums return to the top 10 after an outpouring of fan support following the news that Swift had acquired her Big Machine Records-era music catalog. Her 2017 album reputation reenters at No. 4 (15,000; up 1,183%) and her self-titled 2006 self-titled debut reenters at No. 6 (8,000; up 955%).
Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping To Pimp a Butterfly reenters at No. 5 on Top Album Sales (11,000; up 639%) after a 10th anniversary reissue on multiple vinyl variants, as well as a cassette tape. Another 10th anniversary reissue, this time from Sufjan Stevens, also impacts the chart, as his Carrie & Lowell reenters at No. 7 (8,000; up 2,656%). (For both Lamar and Stevens, all versions of their respective albums, old and new, are combined for tracking and charting purposes.)
Garbage’s Let All That We Imagine Be the Light debuts at No. 8 with just over 7,000 sold, securing the band its fourth top 10-charting set. Lamar’s former No. 1 GNX falls 5-9 (a little more than 7,000; down 15%) and Aesop Rock nabs his first top 10-charting effort with his new release Black Hole Superette debuting at No. 10 (7,000).
