Country Artists You Should Know: Tanner Adell | Billboard News

Ahead of this weekend’s CMT Music Awards, Billboard is putting a spotlight on five country artists you should watch. This episode features Tanner Adell.

Tetris Kelly:
From Beyoncé’s concert to Beyoncé’s album… Tanner Addell is a country artist you definitely need to watch.

The talented songstress has been captivating her audience with certified bops and relatable anthems. And before she even jumped on ‘Cowboy Carter,’ she was already serving a Sasha Fierce type of country, so it was no surprise Queen Bey included her with several up-and-coming Black women of country on her meaningful cover of The Beatles’ “Blackbird” (stylized as “Blackbiird”).

And with ‘Whiskey Blues’ on the way, we can’t wait for more Tanner!

Dasha’s song “Austin” is a certifiable bop, the California native broke onto the Hot 100 last week when Austin reached No. 74 on the chart. Chelsea Cutler
As a woman, you’re so used to going into sessions and a dude is engineering it, and to just be in this powerful room of all women in this space that’s so typically reserved for men was just really awesome. What’s up, I’m Chelsea Cutler, and this is Billboard News.

Tetris Kelly
It’s Tetris with Billboard News hanging with the super talented Chelsea Cutler. Thanks for coming today.

Tetris Kelly
You’re a busy girl. You are on tour, you’ve played these iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall and then you’re just here in LA to play the Palladium. So how was that?

Chelsea Cutler
Amazing. Yeah, this whole thing has been insane. I think that it’s impossible to process something like playing Radio City. I don’t even know where to start. I still haven’t. I feel like in a year, I’m gonna look back at this tour, and just be like, what the heck happened?

Tetris Kelly
What do you need to make sure your tour is smooth and you’re in a great place?

Chelsea Cutler
That’s such a good question. So I feel like so much of tour — this is not the answer that probably most people want. But a lot of tour is being able to reduce your self-care standards.

Anitta & Peso Pluma Kiss, Billie Eilish Clarifies Sustainability Comments & More | Billboard News

Billie Eilish took to social media to clear up public speculation after her interview with Billboard on sustainability went viral. Peso Pluma surprised Anitta with a birthday cake onstage during her set at Tecate Pa’l Norte and shared a kiss. We have a new No. 1 track on the Hot 100 this week. We’re breaking down five country artists you should watch ahead of the CMT Awards; today we’re spotlighting Dasha. And more!

Billie Eilish shuts down Twitter stans. Anitta kisses Peso Pluma. We see who tops the Billboard Hot 100. And break down why you should know Dasha.

It’s Monday, April 1st. I’m Tetris and welcome to Billboard News. It’s not every day you get to have Beyoncé in studio, but I’m beyond excited to chat with the queen. Okay, that might have been the worst April Fools joke ever but hey! A boy can dream. Let’s jump into your top story.

Billie Eilish doubles down after her words in a Billboard article go viral. Here’s what she said. Last week, Billboard published an interview with Billie Eilish where she talked about sustainability in the music industry. One comment in particular gained a lot of attention online. When asked about vinyl production and how Eilish uses recycled materials to make hers she said, “It’s some of the biggest artists in the world making f—ing 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more. And it’s irritating to me that we’re still at a point where you care that much about your numbers and you care that much about making money – and it’s all your favorite artists doing this sh–.” That sent the internet off. Stan accounts started pointing the finger at artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Billie herself, saying they all sell vinyl variants, which Eilish did admit in the article saying, “We’re all going to do it because [it’s] the only way to play the game. It’s just accentuating this already kind of messed up way of this industry working.” Well, Billie took to IG to double down on what she said, posting, “When it comes to variants, so many artists released them- including ME!, which I clearly stated in the article” and shared a link so her followers could see the full Billboard article. To read the full interview and see everything really said head over to Billboard.com.”

Frank Zummo from Sum 41
I pulled up to my kids opening game of T-Ball. I get out of the car and they’re playing “Fat Lip” and his little kids’ T-Ball. And it’s not censored, it’s so inappropriate all the moms and dads were stoked and I was like okay, cool.

Dave Brownsound of Sum 41
Hey, we’re Sum 41 and this is Billboard News.

Lyndsey Havens
I’m Lyndsey Havens for Billboard News and we are here with Grammy nominated pop punk pioneers, fusion band if you will. You kind of do at all, Sum 41. How’s it going, guys?

Sum 41
It’s good

Lyndsey Havens
Eighth and final album ‘Heaven And Hell’ is finally out. Congratulations, followed by the last tour probably impossible to describe. But if you had to, how are you feeling in this moment right now?

Derrick Whibley of Sum 41
It doesn’t feel like anything’s at the end, it feels it’s the beginning of a whole long cycle. So kind of just feels like a new album right now. I think as it gets closer to the end, it’ll start to hit us. But as of right now, it just feels like a new records coming out.

Beyoncé, Miley and Post, oh my! And Meg is excited as Nicki is gifted. And we go even deeper on the superstar. Tyla is on the cover of Billboard as we break down the top songs on TikTok and chat with Los Tigres Del Norte.

It’s Thursday, March 28th, also known as the day before we receive ‘Cowboy Carter,’ and this is Billboard News. We have so much Beyoncé to get through today, but we also have a new cover and it is perfect.

She’s a work of “Art” and she’s kept us dripping in “Water,” now she’s on the cover of Billboard. South Africa’s Tyla has emerged with a unique blend of sounds dubbed “Popiano,” and our own Heran Mamo sat down with her to talk about her tidal wave of a rise.

When asked about winning the first-ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, she said, “I was in such shock. It’s something that a lot of people strive toward and want to win at least once in their lifetime. And I’m so blessed to have received one so early in my career.” She also spoke on how hard it was to cancel Coachella and postpone her tour due to health problems. She’s going to stay connected. She stated, “now’s the time where I can showcase a performance style where I’m not really dancing as much. Maybe I strip back a little bit more and I’m just serving vocals, but there’s no way to stop me. I’m always going to find a way.”

One thing for sure is that she will always serve. Find the full cover over on Billboard.com.
