Taylor Swift Cancels Vienna Concerts After Terror Plot Is Revealed | Billboard News

Taylor Swift cancels her Vienna tour dates for this weekend after plans of a terrorist attack were revealed. Keep watching for the latest updates and what the suspects had to say.

Narrator:

After Taylor Swift had to cancel three tour dates in Austria due to a terrorist threat, authorities say the main suspect has confessed to their harrowing plans. Taylor Swift canceled her scheduled Eras Tour dates in Vienna after the arrest of two suspects who planned to unleash a terrorist attack on the shows. According to Austrian officials, the main suspect has confessed to plans to “kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue.” Officials say the 19-year-old suspect pledged allegiance to the Islamic State after being radicalized online. Austria’s Head of the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence said the main suspect wanted to employ knives or homemade explosives for the planned attack outside the stadium. This all comes just about a week after the fatal stabbing of multiple children at a Taylor Swift-themed dance and yoga event in the U.K. Back in 2019, Taylor described situations of violence like these, the mass shooting at a Las Vegas music festival and the Manchester bombing as her “biggest fear.” According to authorities, I.S. and Al-Qaeda materials were reportedly found in the home of the second 17-year-old suspect, who was reportedly hired earlier this week by a company that provides services to the venue. A spokesperson for the singer has not yet responded in regards to the five shows scheduled for next week in London. Authorities have reportedly ramped up security for the London dates.

Tetris Kelly:
As the presidential race between former President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris continues to heat up, we did a story last week on some of the female celebrities voicing their support for Kamala Harris. Now we’re taking a deeper look at the artists that have been supporting former president Trump.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, told a crowd of fans at his concert he would have voted for Trump in 2016 if he had voted. Ye said he didn’t support former president Trump when he ran for president in 2020, but it seems like he has renewed his support for Trump in 2024, reiterating his support for the former president to paparazzi in February. Sexyy Red endorsed Trump back in October 2023 on the This Past Weekend podcast, saying we need him back in office.

Sexyy Red:
Wait, no, yeah, they support him in the hood, because at first, I don’t think people was f–king with him, like they thought he was racist, saying little s–t and, you know, against women, but once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people their free money. Baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office.

Tetris Kelly:
Kid Rock is one of Trump’s most well-known supporters, voicing his strong support for Trump before heading out to perform at the 2024 RNC convention a few weeks ago.

Kid Rock:
To support our tried and true red, white, blue, 100% American bad a– president.
