After four years of not releasing a solo album, Rich the Kid is back with his latest work, Life’s a Gamble. He shares what it was like to work with Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), Peso Pluma, Ty Dolla $ign, Chief Keef and many more. Catrise J:I’m so excited to have you here. We’re talking about Life’s a Gamble, your fourth album. How are you feeling about that?
Rich the Kid: I feel extremely blessed. I’m excited, super excited.
Catrise J:What is your mind like, you know, as you’re preparing for a big drop like this?
Rich the Kid: Steady in the studio, tweaking stuff and still creating to the last minute, so I’m just working on just making stuff perfect right now.
Catrise J:Talk about the title of your album. Are you a gambling man? Do you like to gamble?
Rich the Kid: No, I’m not a huge gambler, but over the weekend, I had a show and I was I was messing around a little bit. But no, I’m not a big gambler.
Catrise J:What’s the risk you have taken along the way that makes the album title so important?
Rich the Kid: Going back to the beginning of my career, taking chances on myself, investing in myself. Handing out CDs to DJs and staying outside in front of the club all night. So I invested in myself. I took those top two chances to get here, so.

Leila Cobo:Perfect.
Camilo:Welcome to the creative workshop. The whole album was made here in the creative workshop — everything. It was the first creative piece of the workshop. I dreamed of this. I dreamed that the album would be completely made here, from the first idea or the album to the final mastering of music. And the videos, handmade by us in our creative workshop. First, take a quick peek at everything. I’m going to give you a little tour. I have a special talent for making cortado. Do you want a small cortado?
Leila Cobo: I want the Camilo cortado.
Camilo:Yeah? Coming right up. Well, my dear … For me, one of the things I really enjoy the most about the creative workshop is to have the coffee that I like.
Leila Cobo:As it is important.
Camilo:It’s so important. It all came out. So now, we comb through it so that there are no air bubbles. Then we tap it a couple of times to make it go down. It also already has the measurement of the pressure that we like to use.
Leila Cobo:I have never seen a coffee maker taking such care in making a coffee.
Camilo:And there it should go up within the range of espresso, which went up perfectly.
