Baseball is back! While the official 2023 Major League Baseball season doesn’t start until March 30, spring training kicked off on Friday (Feb. 24).
Friday’s MLB pre-season matchups include the Texas Rangers vs. Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners vs. San Diego Padres and an exhibition game between the Boston Red Sox and Northeastern Huskies. All three games are available on MLB.TV.

With MLB.tv on Prime Video, baseball fans stream MLB games on a smart TV, computer, phone and other compatible devices. For Prime members, Amazon’s streaming arm is an easy choice as the platform offers a free trial to MLB.TV. Baseball fans can also land a free trial at MLB.com.
What is MLB.TV? It’s a subscription package that lets you watch and stream thousands of major and minor league games live and on demand. You’ll get live access to out-of-market feeds for all regular season MLB games that aren’t subject to regional, national or another kind of blackout.
According to Amazon, live regular season games included in your subscription will feature out-of-market teams only. Nationally televised games and local team games televised in your area including MLB playoff games, the World Series and the All-Star Game will not be available for live streaming with MLB.TV.

When it comes to nationally televised MLB games, there are plenty of ways to watch and stream without cable or satellite. For example, you can stream MLB games on Fubo TV, Vidgo, DirectTV Stream, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, Roku devices and ExpressVPN (to stream internationally).
Can you watch MLB on YouTube TV? Unfortunately, YouTube dropped MLB Network in January.
Meanwhile, ESPN and ESPN+ will carry a combined 10 MLB spring training games starting with next week’s matchup between the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals. The game will air on ESPN on Monday (Feb. 27) at 1 p.m. ET and stream on the ESPN app.

Play ball! Chlöe Bailey helped kick off Game 3 of the World Series on Tuesday night (Nov. 1) by performing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
“It was [an] honor to sing the national anthem at the world series tonight in philly,” the R&B star tweeted following the big moment, which found her wearing a sleek white dress as she belted out the patriotic ballad a capella.
Flanked by members of the military carrying seven different flags including the Stars and Stripes, the elder half of Chloe x Halle reached the song’s crescendo of “And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air/ Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there” just as fireworks exploded and the crowd inside Citizens Bank Park went wild.
The day was a particularly emotional one for Chlöe, as she turned to social media in the hours ahead of the performance to mourn the sudden death of Migos rapper Takeoff. “RIP Takeoff…my heart is broken,” she tweeted with three broken-heart emojis in the middle.
Additionally, the singer’s appearance at the World Series follows the release of her latest single “For the Night.” The Latto-assisted collaboration is the fourth single off her upcoming debut solo album, which will also include the sultry “Have Mercy,” “Treat Me” and Surprise.”
In other news, the Beyoncé protege is also the newest spokesperson for Pepsi, and recently dropped an infectious, R&B-tinged cover of “Footloose” in her first commercial for the soda brand.

According to a video shared by TMZ from the game, during Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Friday afternoon (Oct. 14), Costas accidentally mixed up the name of Guardians’ pitcher Shane Bieber with pop star Justin Bieber at the top of the sixth inning.
“Justin Bieber just threw his 84th pitch,” he said, before he quickly realized his mistake and joked, “Did I actually call Shane Bieber ‘Justin Bieber?’ I vowed that would not happen.”
TMZ also talked to Shane after the game, and the 27-year-old baseball player was a good sport about the whole thing, saying that it just “a matter of time” before the mistake happened.
Back in 2019, a Topps baseball card of Shane featured the name of the pop star, not the player. Shane even joke about it on Twitter, sharing a picture of the card, circling Justin’s name on it and writing, “Nice.”
Justin later replied, tweeting, “I feel like we have a special connection.”
A few weeks after that, Justin took the joke even further. The “Love Yourself” singer shared a photo of himself riding around on a motorcycle wearing a black jersey with “Not Shane Bieber” written across the shoulders. During Player’s Weekend, where ballers were allowed to wear jerseys with their nicknames on them, Shane busted out a black jersey that read “Not Justin.”
