Following the box-office success that was Wicked in 2024, Wicked: For Good hits theaters on Friday, Nov. 21, just one day shy of the one-year anniversary of the film’s first half. The sequel was first announced on X in April by director Jon M. Chu’s “OzPhone.” The filmmaker wrote at the time, “With more space, we can tell the story of Wicked as it was meant to be told while bringing even more depth and surprise to the journeys of these beloved characters.”

With all the hype and anticipation amongst Marvel fans for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Beginning, many people forget that another Spider-Man film is on the way starring Nicolas Cage (no, seriously), and though details are scarce, we’ve finally gotten our first look at Cage in his Spidey suit. He looks pretty damn dope too.

According to Variety, Amazon’s Prime Video released their first pic of Nicolas Cage dressed as Spider-Man for their upcoming series, Spider-Noir. And truth be told, it looks very well done. After voicing the same Spider-Man variant in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Cage will once again be playing the character in a live-action adaptation of the Spider-Man Noir comic books. Set in 1930s New York, this alternate version of Spider-Man does have a faithful following. Judging from the first pics of the upcoming series, it’ll be going down the black-and-white cinematic setting similar to the cult classic film, Sin City, but won’t be confined to just black-and-white.

Per Variety:

Releasing in 2026, “‘Spider-Noir’ tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.” The show will be available in both black-and-white and color.

In addition to Cage, the cast includes Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston. Guest star cast includes Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson and Kai Caster.

“Spider-Noir” will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel, then arrive globally on Prime video the next day.

Spider-Noir is set to debut sometime in 2026 and come in eight episodes deep. Will you be checking for Nicolas Cage’s iteration of Spider-Man? Let us know in the comments section below.

Chance Perdomo, an actor who starred in Prime Video’s The Boys spinoff series Gen V, died over the weekend. Perdomo, who was Afro-Latino, also starred in a popular Netflix series as well.
Chance Perdomo was set to begin production on the second season of Gen V and was traveling via motorcycle towards Canada when the accident occurred on March 30 in upstate New York, according to a report from Deadline. The outlet added in an additional report that Perdomo was heading to Toronto ahead of a scheduled April 8 table read session for the series.

The family and representatives for Perdomo shared the following:

His passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest. We ask you to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.
Perdomo starred as Andre Anderson on Gen V, which takes place in the same universe as The Boys and features several superpowered young adults wrestling with the weight of their powers. Perdomo also starred in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
“We can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight,” a producer for the series shared in a statement.
Chance Perdomo was 27.

The bidding war for MrBeast and his competition series is over; the popular YouTuber is coming to Amazon and bringing the money with him.

Spotted on The Hollywood Reporter, MrBeast will have his first traditional TV series at Amazon after striking a deal with Amazon MGM Studios for what is described as the “biggest reality competition series in television history.”

According to the website, the series will be based on his YouTube show Beast Games.
Per THR:

The project is based on his YouTube show and titled Beast Games. It will feature 1,000 contestants competing for a $5 million cash payout. The prize is touted as the biggest single prize in the history of television and streaming.
Sources say Amazon outbid at least one major streaming rival to make the deal with MrBeast, a.k.a. Jimmy Donaldson, who is the most popular content creator on YouTube. Donaldson also negotiated the right to retain creative control of the production.
Netflix’s Squid Games: The Challenge was the previous record holder, offering its contestants a life-changing $4.56 million in prize money.
MrBeast Wants To Make A Strong Case For YouTuber Succeeding On Other Platforms
In a statement, MrBeast spoke about the show, saying, “My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms. Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud.”
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, adds, “MrBeast has captured the attention and imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, and all over the world. We are excited to work with Jimmy and his talented team to bring his brilliant, high production, and stakes-raising concepts to Beast Games for our global customers to experience.”
Sounds lit. Will you be watching?

Snoop Dogg has a new comedy movie coming out next year, but luckily for fans, they won’t have to carve out time of their busy schedule to see it in theaters as it will be releasing exclusively on Amazon Prime.

According to Deadline, The Underdoggs, starring Snoop Dogg, will be skipping the planned theatrical Jan. 26, 2024 release and instead go directly to streaming on Prime Video so it can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home. Directed by Charles Stone III, the film follows a former football star (Snoop Dogg), who’s egotistical ways land him in hot water with the law, and he has to repay society by undertaking a new venture that’s sure to end up softening him up after it’s all said and done.
Deadline reports:

Written by Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis, The Underdoggs follows Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings, a washed-up former pro football star, who hits rock bottom and is sentenced to community service coaching an unruly pee-wee football team in his hometown. During the course of this, he may just turn his life around and rediscover his love of the game in the process.
The movie stars Tika Sumpter, Andrew Schulz, Mike Epps and George Lopez.
Going straight to Prime Video is probably the right call as we don’t see the film being a box office smash or even modestly successful to be honest. Maybe if it dropped in the late ’90s. Just sayin’.
The role itself should be a walk in the park for Snoop as the man was actually a coach in the Snoop Youth Football League back in 2005. An actual football star he was not, and we don’t think with that slender frame anyone would believe he ever was (no shots).
Check out the trailer to The Underdoggs below, and let us know if you’ll be checking for it when it debuts on Amazon Prime come Jan. 26, 2024.

Amazon Prime members will still get a discount on Amazon Music — but starting today, they’ll have to pay a little more.

According to the Amazon Music website, effective Tuesday (Aug. 15), the company will raise the price of its premium, on-demand music subscription product from $8.99 to $9.99 per month, or $89 to $99 per year, for individual subscribers.

In addition, the price of the Amazon Music Unlimited Family Plan, which allows up to six family members per account, will increase from $15.99 to $16.99 per month, or $159 to $169 per year. In both instances, existing customers will pay the new price on their automatic monthly renewal starting Sept. 19. The higher prices will allow Amazon Music “[to] help us bring even more content and features,” its website says.

Amazon Prime costs an additional $14.99 per month and provides free order delivery, access to the Prime Video and Amazon Music streaming services and discounts on products and services, among other benefits.

Amazon last raised the price of Amazon Music Unlimited for Prime members in May 2022, increasing it from $7.99 to $8.99 per month or $79 to $89 per year. With the latest price increase, Prime members still receive a discount equal to $1 a month or $10 annually for Amazon Music Unlimited. The prices for non-Prime subscribers were raised in February to $10.99 per month.

Music streaming subscription prices went mostly untouched for years before increasing at all major services in the last year. In October 2022, Apple raised its prices for Apple Music by $1 per month for individual subscribers, from $9.99 to $10.99 in the United States; and $2 per month for the family plan, from $14.99 to $16.99 per month. At the same time, it also increased the prices of Apple TV+ and Apple One, a bundle that includes Apple Music.

In July, YouTube hiked prices for YouTube Music, while Spotify raised the price of its individual subscription plan from $9.99 to $10.99 in the United States later in the month.
