Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars’ ‘Die With a Smile’ Video Hits 1 Billion Views on YouTube

If the party was over and our time on Earth was through… could you say you’ve watched Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars‘ “Die With a Smile” video?

Since its release more than eight months ago, the music video has officially racked up 1 billion views on YouTube — so yes, a few people can say they have.

The country-styled video — featuring Mars in an off-white cowboy hat and Gaga with a mile-high bouffant and an ever-present cigarette in her mouth — was released at the same time as the superstar duet on Aug. 16, following the pair’s live debut of the song as part of Mars’ venue-opening concert at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

“Die With a Smile” spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year — first hitting the top of the chart dated Jan. 11 — and was included on Gaga’s Mayhem, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 albums chart last month. In February, the duet picked up the 2025 Grammy for best pop duo/group performance.

This marks Mars’ 10th video to join YouTube’s Billion Views Club and Gaga’s fourth. It’s Mars’ second video to hit the milestone this year, after his “APT.” duet with ROSÉ became the fifth fastest music video to reach the milestone in February, 105 days after its release. (Adele’s “Hello” remains the fastest, hitting 1 billion views in just 87 days back in 2015.)

The menu today of fire and ice — for the fire, all things coming off the grill, grilled sea scallops with this aji Amarillo and clarified butter. These amazing, amazing head-on shrimp, marinated red chili. We’ve got some grilled New York strips, a la Fiorentina with special herbs, grilled lemon juice. And then for the ice — my favorite part, by the way, is shrimp cocktail, Porter and ceviche. It’s one tuna, one hamachi, one scallop, we call Michi Lada, and also escolar.

Big Loud Sells Morgan Wallen Catalog Stake to Chord Music Partners

Big Loud has sold a stake in Morgan Wallen‘s recording catalog to Chord Music Partners, Billboard has confirmed.

“Big Loud has sold a minority stake in Morgan Wallen’s master recording catalog to Chord Music Partners, as part of a strategic investment to expand the label’s global footprint and fuel long-term artist development,” a Big Loud representative tells Billboard. “The deal was executed with the support of the internal Big Loud team, alongside partners at Chord Music, Republic Records & UMG, PLUS Capital, Eisner, Loeb & Loeb, DLA Piper, Dickinson Wright and Armanino.”

The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news, pegs the purchase price for the catalog stake at $200 million.

Chord Music Partners was formed in 2021 by KKR and Dundee Partners. In February 2024, Universal Music Group (UMG) acquired a 25.8% interest in the company while also taking over distribution and publishing administration for Chord’s catalog via Virgin Music Group and Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), respectively. KKR exited Chord following the transaction, with Dundee increasing its share to 74.2%. Notably, Big Loud struck a multi-year distribution deal with UMG’s Mercury Records/Republic for all releases last March.

Representatives for UMG and Chord Music Partners did not immediately respond to Billboard‘s requests for comment.

At the time of the UMG acquisition, Chord owned more than 60,000 copyrights, including stakes in songs such as “Dreams” and “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac, “La Grange” by ZZ Top, “Counting Stars” and “Apologize” by OneRepublic, “Redbone” by Childish Gambino, “I Like Me Better” by Lauv, “Pursuit of Happiness” by Kid Cudi, “All Of Me” by John Legend, “Girls Like You” and “Sugar” by Maroon 5, “Halo” by Beyonce and “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.

BEYONCÉ-APPROVED

Cé Lumière Eau de Parfum

So what exactly does Cé Lumière — and presumably Beyoncé — smell like? While the eau de parfum’s name translates to “This Light” or “In the Light” in French, the scent is surprisingly dark and sophisticated, rather than being dainty and well, light.

Beyoncé perfume features top notes of Madagascar black pepper and Italian mandarin, with the spiciness of the pepper helping to tone down the brightness of the citrus (and vice-versa). In other words, a quick spritz won’t tickle your nose with anything too strong or too sweet, and the scent is more grounded rather than being overly “juicy.”

The main notes you’ll smell are of jasmine, and rhubarb, which makes for an interesting pairing. Why? Because while jasmine is soft, floral and delicate, the addition of rhubarb brings an earthy, herbaceous quality to the fragrance. Base notes of patchouli and musk are classic fragrance add-ons that add richness, woodiness and complexity. Reddit users agree, with one writing that “it gives off a wealthy vibe.”

The Cé Lumière Eau de Parfum was created in France and completely crafted and nosed by Beyoncé, and we could totally picture — nay, smell — her wearing it too. The music star doesn’t give off light and airy vibes, nor do we see her wearing anything sugary sweet, and Cé Lumière is neither of those things. The conventionally masculine notes of patchouli and black pepper also play into Beyoncé’s boldness and strength, holding down the fragrance just like the singer holds down her family and those close to her (it also helps Cé Lumière work as a unisex fragrance — I would totally wear it, even as a guy!)

Beyonce Cé Lumière Eau de Parfum Review: Buy Perfume Fragrance Online

Cé Lumière Eau de Parfum

$160

If there’s one thing we know about Beyoncé, it’s that her work is multi-layered, and the same thinking went into this perfume. The singer isn’t a one-hit wonder and this isn’t a one-note wonder either, with all the ingredients working together to create an elegant and evocative potion that’s sure to leave a lasting impression. And if it’s good enough for Beyoncé, it’s good enough for us.

Cé Lumière follows the release of Beyoncé’s Cé Noir in 2023 and her first fragrance, Heat, in 2010. You can purchase Cé Lumière right now for $160 on Ulta.com — the perfume is selling quickly so Ulta is limiting shoppers to one unit per visit. Be sure to also sign up for the free gift with purchase.

Olly Murs Reacts to His ‘Before & After’ Photos Sparking a Viral Debate: ‘It’s Very Disappointing’

Following before-and-after photos of Olly Murs‘ fitness journey going viral this week, the British pop star is reacting to what he calls “very disappointing” coverage of his body transformation.

It seemingly started when a poll on X (formerly Twitter) asked users if they preferred the “before” or “after” version of Murs’ body, and whether they were male or female. The results showed that the majority of women voters thought the “before” looked better, while men voters chose the “after.”

After days of social-media debate (which seemed to dismiss the fact that only Murs needs to be happy with his own physique), the singer/songwriter and TV host weighed in on the chatter, sharing a photo on Instagram of a Daily Mail headline that read: “Bad luck, Olly! Women prefer your ‘huggable dad bod’ to the muscles you got in the gym.”

Trending on Billboard

“I wouldn’t normally comment on stuff like this but from what I’ve seen I just want to say that this journey at the start of the year was for many personal reasons and not one of them was to spark a debate and divide opinions,” Murs wrote in the caption. “So it’s very disappointing to see this kind of reporting!”

He ended with a message to his supporters and anyone else on their own fitness journey: “Big Love to everyone who’s been kind and to anyone out there improving themselves and making adjustments to their wellbeing. Love to you all, keep it up! ignore the noise!”

One of Murs’ fans decided to flip the narrative by providing her own “before & after” moment on X. “Thought I’d do my own Olly Murs comparison post since that’s all that’s on my feed right now… 15 years in the game..5 albums out of 7 went to number 1 and STILL selling out arenas ! you deserve every single bit of success @ollymurs.”

The “before” moment she shared was Murs’ audition on season 6 of the U.K.’s X Factor in 2009 — where the then-25-year-old declared his dream of becoming a “pop star” and finished as the runner-up — and the “after” is his Official Charts Company stats, which include five U.K. No. 1 albums and four U.K. No. 1 singles. In the U.S., Murs has scored two Billboard Hot 100 hits, including the top 40 hit “Troublemaker,” featuring Flo Rida, which peaked at No. 25 in 2013 and hit the Pop Airplay top 10.

In addition to his music career, Murs has found success as a TV personality, appearing as a coach on The Voice UK from 2018 to 2023.

Ye Says $3 Million Dispute With Producers Could Lead to ‘Donda 2’ Streaming Removal

Ye’s Donda 2 streaming debut could be short-lived.

Mere hours after the lost 2022 project hit streamers on Tuesday night, Ye (formerly Kanye West)revealed that he received threats of legal action from managers of producers who contributed to the album over financial compensation.

“Free Maiden tried to charge me 3 million dollars for these beats from people I showed how to make beats to now he going to take down Donda 2,” Ye wrote to X. “Managers.”

Free Maiden appears to be the manager of producers BoogzDaBeast and Brian “AllDay” Miller, who worked on Donda 2 tracks including “530,” “Broken Road,” “City of Gods,” “Get Lost,” “We Did It Kid,” “Too Easy” and “First Time.”

Trending on Billboard

“We did not & do not consent to the usage of our work for Donda 2 or ANY Ye project,” an alleged text from Free Maiden read in Ye’s tweet. “He’s owed us $ for almost 3 years now, has refused to pay, yet keeps stealing our work.”

Ye continued to threaten that the tracks would be taken down: “The lawyers are getting this taken down within the hour.”

It’s unclear if the threats have been executed on the streaming side just yet. The project appears to still be present on YouTube Music, Spotify and iTunes.

West premiered the album with a listening party at Miami’s LoanDepot Park in February 2022, but many of the tracks were unfinished and never landed on streaming services, as Ye focused on releasing Donda 2 exclusively through the Stem Player.

The 18-track album is executive produced by Future and features Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Migos, Baby Keem, Jack Harlow and more.

Billboard has reached out to Ye’s reps and Spotify for comment. This is a developing story.

DDG Offers IShowSpeed $2 Million for a ‘Quick Little Cameo’ in His Music Video

DDG has an offer for popular streamer IShowSpeed.

While on Twitch promoting his upcoming album Blame the Chat, the rapper and streamer asked Speed how much it would cost for him to make a cameo in a music video for a song of the same name featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Rich the Kid. “Speed, if I wanted to get you in the ‘Speed’ music video, how much is it gonna cost me?” he asked. “How much you gonna charge me, Speed?”

DDG continued by saying that he would be willing to pay upward of seven figures for an appearance. “I know YouTube ain’t got subs, I know they got members. I come in roughly around like $2 million,” he said. “2 million dollars, three-hour shoot, quick little cameo — take you 40 minutes of your time. You let me know, brother.”

DDG works hard for his money too, and he reminded the chat last week that he has to work to be able to afford the lifestyle he’s gotten used to. “I have to make money. Bills are high,” he told his fans. “Did I tell you how much my bills is a month? N—a, my bills high as sh–. If I don’t work, I’mma go broke ASAP.”

Adding, “Like, I have to work. I don’t have a choice. It ain’t ’bout me trying to pocket some money. I have multiple homes, multiple cars. I have family. I have a child. I spend a lot of money.”

Calvin Harris’ Wife Vick Hope Pregnant With Couple’s First Baby

Calvin Harris and Vick Hope are finding love in new places this year, with the couple currently expecting their first baby together.

As revealed in photos posted on Instagram on Tuesday, the British TV and radio personality is visibly pregnant. In one snap of Hope hosting the 2025 Roundhouse Poetry Slam, she shows off her baby bump in a snug tank top; in another picture from her recent BBC Radio 1 interview with Florence Pugh, she drapes a hand lovingly over her stomach.

In the comments, friends and fans alike showered the couple with messages of congratulations. The pregnancy news comes more than a year and a half after the DJ and Hope tied the knot in September 2023 with a ceremony in Hulne Priory, Alnwick, Northumberland.

Harris and the media personality first started dating in 2022, getting engaged by the end of that year. In an interview with Hello! Magazine that October, Hope emphasized that she prefers to keep details about her relationship under wraps — “I’m keeping my private life private,” she told the publication — although she did recently open up about the one thing she likes to do when her partner isn’t around.

Trending on Billboard

“As soon as my husband goes away, I listen to Taylor Swift,” she said on her BBC Radio 1 show Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie in April last year, shouting out Harris’ superstar ex-girlfriend. “That’s just when I get my little fill — just a little fill, just a couple of songs, get it out of my system and then it’s done.”

Harris is fresh off the release of new single “Smoke the Pain Away,” which arrived mid-March. He’s currently in the process of teasing new music, sharing a snippet of a track on Instagram a few days prior to Hope’s post and writing, “Welcome to my new song !”

Before that, he shared a hilarious video soundtracked by his own agonized groan as he submerged himself in a frozen lake. “New music coming soon,” he captioned the clip.

Victoria Monét Celebrates Taking Daughter to First Beyoncé Concert: ‘One of My All-Time Biggest Dreams Came True’

Victoria Monét checked a mommy-daughter moment off her parenting bucket list this week when she brought her baby girl, Hazel Monét, to her first concert as Beyoncé kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour on Monday night.

The “On My Mama” singer posted a carousel of clips and photos from the heartwarming evening with friends and her daughter, who rocked a pink cowboy hat as part of her concert attire, at Bey’s SoFi Stadium show in Inglewood, California.

“One of my all time biggest dreams came true: I took my daughter to her first concert ever! Well..Besides my show…and OF COURSE it had to be Queen Bey,” she wrote Tuesday on Instagram. “Hazel has been a fan of her music since before she could walk and often requests to watch her performances and documentaries! She was with me and all her aunties having a TIME and I can tell she really enjoyed seeing everyone else dressed in the same theme once we arrived! She was excited!”

Trending on Billboard

Monét enjoyed spending time with her daughter, who was engaged throughout the concert and revealed she’s a big fan of Bey’s daughter, Blue Ivy.

“The show was flawless and the energy in the stadium felt so celebratory and beautiful,” she continued. “It was super amazing to see Hazel actively studying and engaged in the show (she held that bread in her hand and stared for a good hour straight ) she’s also a HUGE fan a Blue and was pleasantly surprised to her and Rumi on stage! When they left the stage she said “where did her daughter go” lol.”

The Grammy-winning singer admitted her “heart melted” when her daughter told her she wants to be a performer, just like her mother.

“She said this is what she wants to do when she grows up! My heart melted and it was such a special moment that I can’t wait to ask her if she remembers when she’s older until then I will continue to show her the BEST of the best to ever do it !! @beyonce WE LOVE YOU,” she concluded.

Monét’s fandom of Beyoncé came full-circle from the time she attempted to write for Bey back in 2018 to the Houston native naming VM as one of her favorite artists of 2024. Monét also gushed about meeting Bey for the first time at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she referred to the music icon as her “idol,” “queen” and “inspiration.”

Victoria Monét is yet to release a single in 2025 but hopped on Davido’s “Offa Me,” which landed on the Nigerian artist’s 5ive album earlier in April.
