‘iCarly’ Star Jaidyn Triplett Sings Theme Song for SAG-AFTRA Strike

Wake up the members of my nation, the iCarly cast has joined the picket line in support of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Actress Jaidyn Triplett, who plays Millicent in the iconic Nickelodeon show’s reboot, entertained protesters on Tuesday (July 18) by performing the series’ theme song, “Leave It All to Me,” as seen in videos circulating Twitter. In the clip, Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress are seen dancing behind her.

SAG-AFTRA, a union representing more than 150,000 actors, went on strike Friday (July 14) after failing to reach a deal with Hollywood’s biggest studios. With the current WGA strike, this marks the first time actors and writers are on strike simultaneously in more than 60 years, according to CNN.

As a result, most film and television productions are on pause as actors call for increased pay and restructured residuals in the streaming service age. Residuals are paid to actors whenever TV shows or movies they’ve appeared in are replayed.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average pay for California actors in 2022 is $27.73 per hour, though that number doesn’t full capture a salary as actors aren’t paid full time, year-round. Additionally, a performer must make $26,470 in one year to qualify for health insurance under SAG-AFTRA — but only 12.7% of SAG-AFTRA members qualify, per CNN, painting a picture of the low pay actors struggle with.

“The book is really special,” Kevin said Monday (July 17) during an interview on The View alongside Danielle. “As we all know, disappointment for kids can be a little hard to understand,” he added before explaining the book’s plot.

“The whole family’s about to go out to the beach sadly, it’s raining, and they can’t do that. [The book is about] turning that moment into something fun as a family, even without having something you’re supposed to have. I think we all deal with that, whether it’s adults [or] children.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2009, released their first children’s book, There’s a Rock Concert in My Bedroom, last year.

The father of two, who married wife Danielle in 2009, went on to chat about making “memorable” moments with their two daughters.

“We always want to make them feel special,“ he explained. “It’s about making those moments memorable. With us, as busy as we are, I think it’s about time and being present. Especially when I’m tour, I’ll fly home on a day off, just so I can be there. “

Austin Butler, Jack White, Kurt Russell & More: See Who Played Elvis Presley for Film & TV

Jacob Elordi will be the latest to star as The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in Sofia Coppola’s upcoming movie ‘Priscilla.’

There’s no entertainer quite like Elvis Presley. The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll took the world by storm after making his commercial debut in 1956 and quickly became an American icon. With seven No. 1 hits, 25 top 10s and 109 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, Presley’s career — a meteoric ascent and the eventual downfall ahead of his death in 1977 — has become the subject of several movies and television series throughout the decades.

The latest addition to the Elvis Presley cinematic universe came in 2022, with the arrival of Baz Luhrmann’s biographical drama Elvis. Austin Butler took on the role of The King in the movie alongside Tom Hanks, who played Presley’s controversial manager Colonel Tom Parker. The movie — which scored a total of eight nominations at the 2023 Academy Awards, including a best picture and best actor nomination for Butler — followed Presley’s rise to fame, his unprecedented stardom and rocky relationship with Parker later on in his career.

Interest in Elvis’ fascinating life, as well as the people in it, continues, as Sofia Coppola will be the latest director to give a unique take on The King with her upcoming movie Priscilla, which follows Priscilla Presley’s life and love story with the icon throughout the years. The movie, based on Priscilla and Sandra Harmon’s book Elvis and Me, will star Cailee Spaeny as the titular character and Euphoria‘s Jacob Elordi as Elvis. (No release date has been confirmed.)

From The White Stripes’ Jack White and former America’s Got Talent star Drake Milligan to veteran actors like Kurt Russell and Don Johnson, see the men who have stepped into Elvis’ studded jumpsuit for television and film in the gallery below.

Madonna Embraces a Bouquet of Roses in Post-Hospitalization Photo: ‘A Single Rose Can Be My Garden’

Madonna is feeling the love following her recent hospitalization and wants to thank fans for their continued support.

On Tuesday (July 18), the Queen of Pop returned to Instagram after her time in the ICU with a serious bacterial infection and shared a few images with her followers.

The first photo features the pop icon embracing and smelling a large bouquet of pink roses while bare-faced. “‘A single rose can be my garden. A single friend my world.’ Thank You,” she captioned the image, quoting writer Leo Buscaglia along with a black heart and red rose emoji.

Madonna also shared two pictures to her Instagram Stories of her cuddling a large purple octopus stuffed animal while gazing into the camera.

The trio of images come after Madonna shared an update on her health with fans July 10. The 64-year-old singer’s health scare prompted the postponement of her career-spanning Celebration world tour, which will skip the planned North American dates this summer and instead launch with her European leg in the fall.

“I have felt your love. I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” she wrote, adding that her first thought upon waking in the hospital was her six children. “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour,” she continued. “I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”

Madonna stated that her primary concern at the moment is making sure she is in good health so the show can eventually go on. “I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can!” she promised. “The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe.”

TikTok Expands New Music Streaming Service to Mexico, Australia & Singapore

Shortly after its initial official launch, TikTok Music is already in expansion mode.

The new app, which is a full-catalog subscription music streaming service that ties into a user’s TikTok account, is launching in three additional countries: Mexico, Australia and Singapore, the company announced today (July 18). The announcement comes just two weeks after the company announced the creation of TikTok Music, with its initial availability limited to Brazil and Indonesia.

The launch in the three new countries will initially be in closed beta, with users being invited to try the service with a three-month trial after downloading the app.

“TikTok Music is a new kind of music service that combines the power of music discovery on TikTok with a music streaming service offering millions of tracks from thousands of artists,” a TikTok spokesperson said in a statement. “We are now beta testing TikTok Music in Australia, Mexico [and] Singapore, and will have more news to share on the launch of TikTok Music in the coming months.”

TikTok Music grew out of, and is replacing, TikTok’s initial foray into music streaming, which it called Resso and which had been operating in India and Indonesia since March 2020, before later expanding into Brazil. That service was initially a free, ad-supported streamer before TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, announced in May that it would become subscription-only. Resso’s availability in Indonesia and Brazil is sunsetting on Sept. 5.

The announcement caps a big day for TikTok, which also unveiled a major new licensing partnership with Warner Music Group (WMG) allowing the company’s music to be used on the main app as well as in its commercial library, among other uses, while giving WMG artists greater access to some of TikTok’s tools to reach fans and sell merchandise. TikTok also announced the launch of a new emerging artist program called Elevate to promote artists both on and off the app.

TikTok Music is a significant step in the relationship between the wildly-popular social media app and the music business, which has been contested in recent years but has since begun to thaw with an increased partnership between the sides. Sony, which had pulled its catalog from Resso in recent months, struck a deal to return its catalog to both Resso and TikTok Music, for example. TikTok has also been rolling out tools to help creators, and additionally to help users find artists on the platform. The expansion of its streaming service could be a huge change in the digital service provider landscape, which hasn’t seen a new major player emerge in several years at this point — particularly one with as massive and engaged a user base as TikTok.

A Timeline of Machine Gun Kelly & Megan Fox’s Relationship

Billboard has compiled a timeline for how the stars aligned for the stars’ destined romance.

Machine Gun Kelly
and Megan Fox’s love felt destined from the moment the Jennifer Body’s actress felt the rockstar rapper’s Pisces moon.

From their movie’s production being postponed due to COVID to Fox’s guest appearance in MGK’s “Bloody Valentine” music video to their Instagram-worthy engagement, the couple’s love life has played out onscreen and shown their fans how they’re meant to be.

In fact, Fox even claims she’s been “manifesting” a guy like the pop-punk rocker since she was a kid. She told Glamour UK  that MGK is “literally my exact physical type that I’ve been manifesting since I was four. I’m also four years older than him. So, I think I made him. My thoughts and intentions grew him into the person that he is, who knows what he would’ve looked like or been like if it wasn’t for me.”

The actress — who shares three young children with former husband of a decade actor Brian Austin Green — even put their love in historical perspective. “I think Pam [Anderson] and Tommy [Lee] were twin flames, I think they were soulmates,” she said of the Baywatch actress and Motley Crue drummer. “Kurt [Cobain] and Courtney [Love] is a darker version of the same thing. So I think when you find people that come together whose souls have known each other, who have travelled here to do this again, there’s something undeniable about that. And again, it can provoke a positive feeling in you, or it could provoke a very negative feeling.”

Billboard compiled a timeline of how the stars aligned for the stars’ destined romance.

Chloe Bailey Looks Vibrant in Cheeky Photos From ‘Baby’s First Carnival’ in St. Lucia

Chloe Bailey has finally made it to her first Carnival. On Tuesday (July 17), the “How Does It Feel” singer shared photos of the larger-than-life costume she donned for Carnival in St. Lucia.

“Baby’s first carnival with @legendscarnival !!! had the best time of my entire life,” the singer wrote on Instagram, captioning a series of pictures of her outfit, which consisted of a blue, pink, purple and orange feathered headpiece to match the feather arm attachments, a colorful thong bikini with matching garter belt and a beaded cover-up that cascaded down the length of her body.

Fans and friends in the comments could not stop gushing over Bailey’s look for the festival. Sister Halle Bailey chimed in, “YOU LOOK SO AMAZING!!!!!!” Flo Milli wrote “eattt” with several heart-eyes emojis, with former Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui adding, “Gorgeousssss.”

In addition to sharing the pictures to her feed, Chloe posted behind-the-scenes photos and video from the getting-ready process, as well as videos of her dancing with other Carnival attendees in the street of St. Lucia to her Instagram Stories. At one point, the 25-year-old stopped for a young girl who wanted to hug her while admiring her outfit.

Later this summer, Chloe will embark on her In Pieces Tour, which is slated to kick off Aug. 20 in Sacramento, Calif. The trek will make stops across North America in Phoenix, Denver, Toronto, Charlotte and more before concluding Sept. 10. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday.

Before Burna Boy’s London Stadium Show Streams on Apple Music Live, Watch ‘Last Last’ Early

For anyone upset that they missed Burna Boy‘s sold-out London Stadium show from June 3, Apple Music has you covered. The show will exclusively stream on Apple Music Live starting Wednesday, but Billboard has a first look at his “Last Last” performance below.

Fans of the African Giant performer can catch his whole set on Apple Music on Wednesday at noon PT, along with Apple TV+ and Apple Music’s TikTok page and Burna’s TikTok page. His historic London Stadium concert marked the first time an African artist headlined a stadium show in the U.K. Other than “Last Last,” which can be seen below, Burna performs his biggest hits and fan favorites like “Ye,” “Sittin’ on Top of the World” and “Real Life” while bringing out special guests such as Stormzy, J Hus, Dave and Popcaan.

“I had an unforgettable experience performing at London Stadium,” Burna said in a press release. “The energy from the crowd was unmatched, and I’m grateful to all my fans for their unwavering support. Being featured in Apple Music Live is an incredible opportunity to share this historic moment with my fans worldwide. I’m excited for everyone to witness the magic we created that night. Special thanks to Apple Music for capturing and showcasing the performance. Stay tuned for an epic celebration of music and culture.”

This doesn’t mark the “Last Last” singer’s first time dominating Apple Music: Burna is both the most-streamed Nigerian artist of all time on Apple Music worldwide and the most-streamed artist in Nigeria of all time. His 2019 album African Giant broke the record for the biggest African album by first-day and first-week streams worldwide, while his 2022 LP Love, Damini became the No. 1 album on Apple Music in 70 countries and smashed the record for the biggest first-day and first-week for an album by an African artist.

“Burna Boy is a force of nature whose global rise shows no sign of slowing down any time soon,” said Ebro Darden, Apple Music’s global head of hip-hop and R&B, who sat down with Burna in London for an interview that airs Tuesday on Apple Music 1. “We’re thrilled to be able to present such a historic and career spanning performance to Burna’s fans around the world.”

Burna’s London concert will join Ed Sheeran‘s first full performance of his (Subtract) album as part of Apple Music Live’s second season.

Watch an exclusive clip of Burna Boy performing “Last Last” below.
