Celebrity Jeweler Seth Grossman Accuses YK Osiris Of Stealing $20K Watch

Another day, another rapper accused of running off on the jewelry plug.

No, it’s not Sean Kingston, but it is someone who has close ties to him and might’ve picked up a lesson or two. According to TMZ Hip Hop, YK Osiris is being accused by celebrity jeweler, Seth Grossman, of failing to pay for a $20,000 Audemars Piguet watch that he blessed him with years ago. Apparently, the Sean Kingston-referred client has been rocking a pricey timepiece provided by Grossman for years and hasn’t coughed up a single dime in payment since.

How Kingston and Osiris haven’t made their own version to “Run Off On The Plug” is beyond us, but there’s always time.

TMZ Hip Hop reports:

They met up in early 2020 before the COVID-19 shutdowns, and Seth claims YK convinced him to sell the AP he was wearing … which you see YK try on, and happily flaunt, in the video above. Bling, bling baby!!!

Seth says he wasn’t up on YK’s music at the time but checked his YouTube and confirmed he was a legit star, and proceeded to fire off an invoice for the timepiece.

According to Seth, YK took all of his info so his accountant could wire the $20K … but that wire transfer was essentially a pipe dream because Seth claims he’s yet to see a dime!!!

Naturally, YK gave Grossman the runaround for years and ultimately shifted the blame to Sean Kingston because, why not? Telling Grossman everything from his father stole his jewelry to saying that he gave the watch to Sean, Osiris obviously didn’t have the $20,000 to pay for his diamond encrusted timepiece.

While any other person would’ve taken some kind of legal action by now, Grossman is being a sport about it so far and says that he’d rather use his energy to run his Bev Hills boutique, 90210 Watches.

In other words, looks like YK Osiris done got himself a free $20,000 watch. Sean Kingston would be proud… or maybe hating. We don’t know.

What do y’all think of the situation? Should Seth Grossman take YK Osiris to court, or should he just chalk this up to a $20,000 life lesson? Let us know in the comments section below.

The 2023 Made In America Festival has been cancelled. Refunds will be provided to all ticket holders at points of sale.

Live Nation made the announcement of the festival’s cancellation on Tuesday (August 8) afternoon. “Due to severe circumstances outside of production control, the 2023 Made In America festival will no longer be taking place,” reads part of the statement. “This decision has been difficult and has not been made lightly nor without immense deliberation.”

The Made In America Festival is a 2-day festival that is curated by Jay-Z. This year’s headliners were SZA and Lizzo while other scheduled performers included Tems, Miguel, Ice Spice, Metro Boomin, Coi Leray, Latto, Lil Yachty and a special set by Cam’ron and Mase. Conspiracy theories will no doubt have already begun about Lizzo at least being partly to blame due to a lawsuit against her by former dancers claiming harassment.

Although MIA is not going down on Labor Day weekend per usual since its 2012 debut, plans are for it to return in 2024.

This story is developing.

Queen Bey used One/Size ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray from Patrick Starrr’s makeup collection. Celebrity makeup artist Rokael Lizama — whose clients include Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian and Nicole Scherzinger — tagged Starrr in an Instagram post over the weekend captioned in part, “The elements, rain or shine did her thing!!!” adding “@ @patrickstarrr I Love You!! Your spray helped us through the show!!! @onesize.”

Starrr shared the exciting news on TikTok. “Her makeup artist Rokael , who I’ve known for years, is her makeup artists on tour,” Starrr explained in the video posted Monday (Aug. 7). “Last night at the concert it rained and he texted me today at 2:14 p.m. ‘OneSize Spray come through!’ And I was like what?!”

The second night of Beyoncé’s back-to-back shows in Washington, D.C., hit a delay due to severe thunderstorms. The Grammy winner paid $100,000 to extend the D.C. Metro hours to ensure that fans made it home safely. The Renaissance Tour rolls into Charlotte on Wednesday (Aug. 9), followed by three shows in Atlanta starting on Friday (Aug. 11).

According to the product description, OneSize waterproof setting spray keeps your makeup in place for up to 16 hours (and juding by Queen Bey’s Instagram photos, it clearly works in a rainstorm). It features notes of green tea, cucumber and citrus and melon and gives off a “blurred matte finish.”

The setting spray, which retails for $17-$32, is currently sold out at Sephora and OneSize Beauty.com, but it’s available at Amazon (at a higher price). Besides setting spray, the One/Size also carries setting powder, mascara, waterproof matte primer, concealer and more.

Alleged Antisemitic Rapper Surprises Crowd At Travis Scott’s Rome Concert

The audience at Travis Scott’s concert in Rome, Italy was treated to a surprise on-stage appearance by Ye aka Kanye West.

On Monday night (August 7th), Scott was in the midst of performing songs from his new album UTOPIA before the packed arena for his Circus Maximus tour. He stopped the music and said, “Only one human being on this motherf**king planet that has ever walked side by side with me through anything and every motherf**king thing.” At that moment he brought West out onto the stage.

“There is no Utopia without Kanye West. There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West. There is no Rome without Kanye West. Make some noise for Ye,” Scott said as the two performed “Praise God,” a song from West’s 2021 DONDA album that Scott is featured on. They also performed “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”, from West’s 2007 Graduation album to a rapturous crowd.

It’s the first live performance by West since receiving a considerable amount of backlash and condemnation over his slew of antisemitic comments beginning last October when he wrote on social media that it would be “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” That led to the rapper’s Instagram account being restricted and the offending post being deleted. West’s Twitter account would also see those tweets removed due to violating its policies. It was also shortly after he debuted “White Lives Matter” t-shirts during a runway show at Paris Fashion Week earlier that month.

The backlash led to Adidas, Gap, and Balenciaga severing ties with West. But he would prove to be more defiant, summarized in a post directed at Ari Emmanuel, the CEO of Endeavor who publicly called on companies to forego doing business with the

artist. “Ari Emanuel. I lost 2 billion dollars in one day. And I’m still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am,” West wrote on Instagram afterward. The furor would even cause a greater rift between Ye and his now ex-wife, Kim Kardashian (her sister, Kylie Jenner, has two children with Travis Scott) as Kardashian publicly condemned his stance on social media shortly after the remarks were made.

Hot 100 First-Timers: Tyler Childers Arrives With ‘In Your Love’

Tyler Childers is officially a Billboard Hot 100-charting artist, as his new single “In Your Love” debuts on the Aug. 12-dated survey at No. 43.

“In Your Love,” released July 27 on Hickman Holler/RCA Records, debuts with 11.4 million U.S. streams, 690,000 radio airplay audience impressions and 9,000 downloads sold in its opening week (July 28-Aug. 3), according to Luminate. It also starts at No. 7 on Hot Country Songs, marking Childers’ first top 10.

The track is the lead single off Childers’ sixth studio album, Rustin’ in the Rain, due Sept. 8.

Childers has maintained a steady presence on Billboard’s charts since his breakthrough second LP, and major-label debut, Purgatory, in 2017. The set has reached No. 2 on Americana/Folk Albums, No. 9 on Top Country Albums and – as of this week – No. 71 on the Billboard 200.

Since that release, Childers has charted four additional albums on the Billboard 200: Country Squire (No. 12 peak, 2019), Long Violent History (No. 45, 2020), Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven (No. 8, 2022) and Live on Red Barn Radio I & II (No. 196, this April).

Country Squire also hit No. 1 on the Top Country Albums, Americana/Folk Albums, Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums charts, while Long Violent History debuted at No. 1 on Americana/Folk Albums.

Childers previously landed four tracks on Hot Country Songs: “All Your’n” (No. 46 peak in 2019; the song has spiked in recent years thanks to activity on TikTok), “Long Violent History” (No. 48, 2020), “Angel Band” (No. 41, 2022) and “Way of the Triune God” (No. 37, this year).

He has also charted two songs on Adult Alternative Airplay: “All Your’n” (No. 16, 2019) and “House Fire” (No. 40, 2020).

Childers — whose music blends folk, bluegrass, and traditional country elements — hails from Lawrence County, Ky. He self-released his first album, Bottles and Bibles, in 2011 when he was 19 years old. He returned with Purgatory, which was produced by Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson.

Outside of his solo work, Childers has collaborated with the likes of Colter Wall (“Fraulein”) and Bob Weir (“Greatest Story Ever Told”).

Childers is currently touring through the end of the year.

Steve Lacy Never Felt the Need to Come Out Publicly: ‘I Think It’s Silly’

The process of coming out is personal for each individual queer person who makes the leap to tell the world about themselves. For Steve Lacy, his coming out process was simply “silly.”

In a new cover story for Variety, Lacy opened up about how he publicly came out … or rather, how he didn’t really mean to publicly come out. After answering a fan’s question on Tumblr in 2017 saying that he would date a guy, Lacy recalls seeing headlines that he had come out as bisexual.

“I didn’t really come out,” the singer said of the sudden attention. “I didn’t try to — it just kinda happened. I don’t care to announce who I’m into sexually. I think it’s silly. I never felt like I needed to come out.”

The singer continued, saying that he also doesn’t feel a responsibility to represent any specific image of queerness — his only responsibility is to himself. “I never care to speak for anyone else, because I think all of our experiences are so different from each other,” he said. “I guess I have a selfish perspective of myself in the world, and I’m just expressing myself. I’m not necessarily doing things for other people to feel good about themselves.”

Last year, Lacy earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Bad Habit,” while his album Gemini Rights peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. The song and album also earned the star four Grammy nominations, including both record and song of the year for “Bad Habit.”

The VMAs Add an Afrobeats Category, Following the Lead of the AMAs & Grammys

The MTV Video Music Awards are adding a new category this year – best Afrobeats. The Grammys are adding a similar category, best African music performance, this year (for the awards that will be presented on Feb. 4, 2024). The American Music Awards were the first major music awards show to add such a category. They added favorite Afrobeats artist at the show that aired on Nov. 20, 2022. Wizkid was the inaugural winner, beating Burna Boy, CKay, Fireboy DML and Tems.

The apparent front-runner for best Afrobeats at the VMAs is Rema & Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down,” which is nominated in two other categories, best song and best collaboration. “Calm Down” has been a giant crossover hit, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song dips a notch to No. 6 in its 49th week on the Hot 100, as it spends a seventh week atop Radio Songs.

Ayra Starr has two nominations in the VMAs’ best Afrobeats category – for her own “Rush” and as the featured artist on Wizkid’s “2 Sugar.”

The other nominees in the category are Burna Boy’s “It’s Plenty,” Davido featuring Musa Keys’ “Unavailable,” Fireboy DML & Asake’s “Bandana” and Libianca’s “People.”

Best Afrobeats is the third genre-specific category to be added at the VMAs in this century, following Latin (2006) and K-pop (2019). The VMAs’ five other genre-specific categories were all introduced in the last century — rock (1989), alternative (1991), R&B (1993), and pop and hip-hop (both 1999).

The Grammy nominations will be announced on Nov. 10, at which time we’ll learn the nominees in their new best African music performance category.

The Recording Academy announced the category (one of three being added this year) on June 13. The Rules and Guidelines for the upcoming 66th Annual Grammy Awards describes the category thusly: “Eligible recordings include vocal and instrumental performances with strong elements of African cultural significance that blend a stylistic intention, song structure, lyrical content and/or musical representation found in Africa and the African Diaspora. The African Diaspora is the worldwide collection of communities descended from native Africans or people from Africa, predominantly in the Americas.”

The 2023 VMAs will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT live from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
