Rankings for the Top TV Songs chart are based on song and show data provided by Tunefind and ranked using a formula blending that data with sales and streaming information tracked by Luminate during the corresponding period of February 2024.

“Bust a Move,” which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1989, sported a synch in ABC’s The Rookie, sending it to No. 1 on Top TV Songs after being heard in the second episode of the series’ sixth season on Feb. 27.

In February 2024, “Bust a Move” earned 3.2 million official on-demand U.S. streams and 1,000 downloads, according to Luminate.

“Bust a Move” reigns over Gordon Lightfoot’s “If You Could Read My Mind,” which bows at No. 2 following a synch in Amazon Prime Video’s The Grand Tour on Feb. 16. The track snagged 3.7 million streams and 2,000 downloads in February 2024.

Like “Bust a Move,” “If You Could Read My Mind” was a top 10 hit on the Hot 100 (as well as the first top 10 for both acts), albeit earlier, peaking at No. 5 in February 1971.

A pair of songs from HBO’s True Detective round out Top TV Songs’ top four in Mazzy Star’s “Into Dust” and The Beatles’ “Twist and Shout” at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. The former was in episode four of the fourth season (Feb. 4), while the latter followed in episode six (Feb. 18).

“Into Dust” racked up 802,000 streams and 1,000 downloads in February 2024, while “Twist and Shout” boasted 6.4 million streams and 1,000 downloads.

They’re not the only True Detective synchs on the latest chart. The show also appears at No. 9 via Billie Eilish’s “Everybody Dies,” also from episode four, via 1.3 million streams.

One of Cardi B’s friends will have to spend some time in jail. Star Brim has just been sentenced in her RICO case.

Per the United States Department Of Justice (DOJ) the woman born Yonette Respass pleaded guilty to involvement in criminal activity relating to the 59 Brims; an alleged subset of the Bloods. The gang reportedly carried out various crimes including assault, racketeering, firearm offenses, distribution of narcotics and murder. According to the DOJ, Star Brim served as the gang’s highest-ranking female member and not only directly participated in the ongoing conspiracy, but also ordered the slashing of an unnamed individual.

The original indictment was made back in February 2020. At the time of the announcement, NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea made it clear that this was a collaborative effort between local New York City police and federal authorities.

“Targeting and dismantling gangs and crews, and preventing the violence so often associated with their illegal activities, continues to be one of our highest priorities. By using precision policing we are targeting the small percentage of people responsible for committing much of the violence in New York, and making the safest large city in America even safer. I’d like to thank our law enforcement partners for their efforts in helping us achieve this goal.”

Star Brim has been sentenced to one year and one day behind bars and three years of supervised release. Seventeen other individuals connected to the 59 Brims also were charged.

You Care: Tammy Rivera & Waka Flocka’s New Boo Trade Barbs On Social Media

Tammy Rivera and her estranged husband’s new boo had time for each other on social media.

After eight years of “marital bliss,” Tammy Rivera and Waka Flocka split in 2022, and the rapper happily announced in January 2024 that he has moved on with a woman he calls Big Mel.

His soon-to-be ex-wife took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, March 11, to drop a post that some believe is a direct shot at the “No Hands” crafter’s new love interest.

The post read, “No one can ever make me jealous over a seat I had first. You wouldn’t be sitting there if I didn’t get up.”

Big Mel didn’t waste no time responding to Rivera’s shade, writing in her own post, “Being washed up and can’t let go of your past is type crazy,” with Diddy’s Bryson Tiller assisted track “Gotta Move On” playing. At the bottom of the post she added, “This is the one, cuz it’s giving jealous and bitter.”

But that wasn’t the end of the discourse.

Tammy Rivera Had Even More Time

When the IG blog The Neighborhood Talk picked up the back and forth between the two women, Tammy appeared in the comment section, claiming she wasn’t shading Big Mel at first but admitting she is now.

Per HipHopDX:

Man I’m just waking up it’s 9am over where I’m at [face palm emoji],” she began. “Waka we literally just talked about this last night (your morning).. Waka get her please for I hurt this lil girl feelings. Oh btw that post wasn’t even about him nor you but hit dogs holla. You f’king up your seat Shein Tammy.

A blog follower had something to say to Tammy, calling her behavior “embarrassing” and saying that she was making herself look like a sidekick. Rivera clapped back while also revealing that she and Waka Flocka are still married.

“Sweetie we talked cause our daughter and to be honest we still legally married so we have to talk cause we have business that has to be handled until them papers are signed! Grown ppl business.”

Waka’s mom and Tammy’s mother-in-law, Deb Antney, chimed in, adding, “Why are we doing this sh*t on the internet? We don’t do this sh*t.”

The Trump-loving rapper has yet to respond, and we highly doubt he will speak on the matter.

A few weeks ago Eminem had older heads confused when he decided to rehash his old beef with Benzino on the track “Doomsday 2.” Although Zino is open to squashing his beef with Em in 2024, It doesn’t seem like the feeling is mutual.

Dropping off some new visuals for the aforementioned song, Eminem rocks some black and yellow attire (alone with the “Thunder” Air Jordan 4’s) as he strolls through a hospital that seems like it’s been rocked by a natural disaster while his rap peers such as Big Sean and Cordae appear to take on the adlib duties. Not gonna lie, we kinda feel bad for Benzino at this point.

Another Hip-Hop OG returns to show he’s still got enough bars to lock down a block and in his Young Thug assisted clip to “OK,” Busta Rhymes uses a cloud as his sofa high in the sky while utilizing some CGI magic to have the currently incarcerated Young Thug to spit his verse. Busta still got it, man.

Ye & Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Carnival’ Spends Second Week Atop TikTok Billboard Top 50

Concurrent with its rise to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated March 16, “Carnival,” from Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign and featuring Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti, spends its second week at No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50.

The TikTok Billboard Top 50 is a weekly ranking of the most popular songs on TikTok in the United States based on creations, video views and user engagement. The latest chart reflects activity March 4-10. Activity on TikTok is not included in Billboard charts except for the TikTok Billboard Top 50. As previously noted, titles that are part of Universal Music Group’s catalog are currently unavailable on TikTok.

Trending on Billboard

“Carnival” remains the chart’s top song, becoming the first to reign for more than one week since Flo Milli’s “Never Lose Me” ruled for four frames between Jan. 20 and Feb. 10.

The song’s usage continues to largely revolve around its opening choir-led refrain and is used in a variety of ways, from lip-synching (usually in front of a mirror, known as the Carnival Mirror Trend) to soundtracking sports clips, gaming content, a dance trend and more.

“Carnival,” as previously reported, rises 4% in official U.S. streams to 33.7 million, assisting its ascension to No. 1 on the multimetric Hot 100.

The success of “Carnival” comes despite Ye’s various controversies, including recent and continued hate speech and antisemitic remarks that have caused some listeners to shy away from his material past and present.

The entire top five of the TikTok Billboard Top 50 remains both intact and in the same order, with Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do for Love,” Djo’s “End of Beginning,” Kinfolk Thugs, GC Eternal and Tyme Bomb’s “Back It Up and Dump It (Dump Truck)” and Cat Janice’s “Dance You Outta My Head” rounding out the top five.

The rest of the top 10, however, is either made up of debuts or songs reaching the top 10 for the first time. They’re paced by Kaytoven’s “MONEY! (Money Money, Green Green),” which starts at No. 6. Released Feb. 24, the tune, which also sports slowed-down and sped-up versions on streaming services, had been teased on TikTok for weeks prior to its official release, sparking a strong premiere.

“MONEY!” has benefited from a variety of uploads using the sound so far, including some lip-synching to the “money’s all I need” chorus to explain why they care about their grades or work, while others soundtrack the “ew, look at that trio” challenge.”

AP$ENT’s “Can I Come With You” follows at No. 7. The Russian-language song (it translates to “Можно я с тобой”), originally released in 2022, has seen some of its biggest success in cat-related content.

Bryson Tiller’s “Whatever She Wants” starts at No. 8, while DeJ Loaf’s “No Fear” rises 16-9 and Cardi B’s “Like What (Freestyle)” rounds out the top 10. Tiller’s tune began being teased on TikTok in January and has seen a steady ascent since, concurrent with its move into the top 20 of the Hot 100, jumping 22-19 on the latest ranking. Its usage on the platform is mostly via lip synch and dance content.

“Like What” reaches the ranking as the song debuts at No. 38 on the Hot 100 following its March 1 premiere. Cardi herself got in on the action with one of the top-performing clips using the song so far, racking up over 1.7 million likes as of March 12.

Bon Jovi Prepping ‘Forever’ Album, Drop Upbeat ‘Legendary’ Single

Bon Jovi are celebrating their fourth decade of rocking with the upcoming release of their 16th album, Forever. The Jersey giants announced the news on Thursday morning (March 14), along with releasing the LP’s first single, the upbeat rock bop “Legendary.”

“This record is a return to joy.  From the writing, through the recording process, this is turn up the volume, feel good Bon Jovi,” said singer Jon Bon Jovi in a statement about the album due out on June 7. The CGI-heavy video for “Legendary” finds the band rocking out in a grassy digital field as leader Bon Jovi sings, “Who are you and who am I/ To think that we could ever fly/ It don’t pay to even try/ Work get paid and just get by,” before busting into the uplifting chorus, “I raise my hands up to the sky/ Don’t need more to tell me I’m alive/ Got what I want/ Cuz I got what I need/ Got a fistful of friends/ That’ll stand up for me/ Right where I am is where I wanna be.”

The rousing chorus packs in several allusions to classic rock songs, including Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” and Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl.” The band will be the subject of the upcoming four-part Hulu docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which will debut on the streamer on April 26.
