SCOTUS Justice Alito Flew US Flag Upside Down At Home After Jan. 6, Blames Wife

Another Supreme Court Justice is under fire for photos showing a US flag at his home as a sign of support for Donald Trump.

The Supreme Court is the subject of another controversy – this time courtesy of conservative Justice Samuel Alito. On Thursday (May 16), a published photograph of his home in Alexandria, Virginia showed an American flag that flew upside down – a universal signal of distress co-opted by supporters of former President Donald Trump and his “Stop The Steal” false claims. That same flag style was spotted among those who attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The photo showed that the reverse flag flew at Alito’s home on January 17.

The photograph is also significant because, at the time, the Supreme Court was weighing in on a case from Pennsylvania concerning the 2020 presidential election which saw Alito in the losing minority of the decision. “I had no involvement whatsoever in the flying of the flag,” Justice Alito said in a statement emailed to The New York Times after the report was published. “It was briefly placed by Mrs. Alito in response to a neighbor’s use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs.” The report did say that Alito’s wife, Martha, had been involved in a dispute over a neighbor’s anti-Trump sign on their lawn. “It might be his spouse or someone else living in his home, but he shouldn’t have it in his yard as his message to the world,” said Amanda Frost, a law professor at the University of Virginia. Alito has been a contentious figure on the court, with his leaking of the ruling overturning the landmark Roe V. Wade decision concerning abortion a nagging issue.

The bombshell report from the Times caused shockwaves among many observers and scholars, who stated that such a move undermines any credibility that Alito has in ruling on upcoming cases involving Trump. Those cases include the Supreme Court determining if Trump has immunity for his actions – which are being argued as incitements to insurrection – concerning what took place on January 6th. It adds to more chaos surrounding the court, as Justice Clarence Thomas has refused to recuse himself despite his wife Ginni Thomas’ direct involvement with efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Kel Mitchell’s Ex-Wife Rebukes His Claims Of Her Cheating & Secret Abortions

Earlier this week social media collectively clutched their pearls when former Good Burger star, Kel Mitchell went on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast and revealed that his ex-wife, Tyisha Hampton, was impregnated by multiple men before and during their 6-year marriage.

Now Hampton has decided to speak on the situation and according to TMZ is refuting Mitchell’s claim saying it’s all cap and he’s basically making things up to slander her good name. In said Club Shay Shay interview, Kel recalled how Hampton allegedly had an abortion before the two married in 1999 and after the procedure he was told by his pending wife that the baby wasn’t his. Unfortunately for him the supposed the cheating didn’t stop after the two took their vows and Hampton eventually ended up getting pregnant by another man and according to Kel, he didn’t find out until a doctor mentioned that Hampton lost a baby that he didn’t know about.

After days of social media weighing in on the situation and throwing in their own two cents on the matter, Hampton decided to speak up and defend herself saying Kel Mitchell’s account is inaccurate and went so far as to call him a “psycho” after she stopped accepting his personality traits. Saying he was “narcissistic” during their marriage, Hampton says he made up the abortions and that the first time she got pregnant was with her son who is currently alive and well.

TMZ reports:

For her part, Hampton’s calling BS on all of it … saying when she stopped simply accepting Kel’s behavior he went off on her. Tyisha says Kel’s lying about the abortions, and calls her ex-husband narcissistic. So, each person seems intent on trashing the other here.

Tyisha and Kel share two children, and Kel’s got two more with his current wife Asia Leewhom he married back in 2012.

BTW … the interview takes another wild turn — ’cause Kel claims Tyisha put a hex on him, and he had a full-on exorcism performed while he prayed with demons’ names coming from his mouth.

In cases like this you really don’t know who to believe unless you’re familiar with both parties and have an idea of the type of people they are.

It’s been a quarter century since Lauryn Hill dropped one of the greatest albums of Hip-Hop’s golden era in The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. And although plenty of fans gave up on the Fugees member releasing a follow-up project more than a decade ago, it seems like theere might be hope yet of a proper sophomore album from the legendary music artist.

According to TMZ, Lauryn Hill hinted that a new album might very well be in the works as TMZ caught up with her son, YG Marley in New York City as they left The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and asked him if his iconic mom is working on new material in 2024. Though he didn’t confirm that Lauryn Hill was going to release a new project anytime soon, he did hint that their might be some stuff in the chamber ready to pop off at some point in the coming future by simply saying “Music’s on the way.”

Per TMZ:

YG got a kick outta the question, and gently suggested there’s reason for fans to be excited about his mom making new tunes — and he cheesed even harder when we asked if he’d be helping her in the studio.

As for Lauryn’s position — well, check out the video for her reaction when we told her what YG let slip. Coy smiles run in the family!

She joined YG for his late-night TV debut as they performed her classic hit “Ex-Factor,” YG’s breakout record “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” … and also premiered his new track “Survival” … co-written with lyrics from his late grandfather Bob Marley.

Lauryn herself just nodded when asked about her son implying that new music was on the way but wouldn’t comment any further when asked when we could expect that new work that would get heads nodding and bodies vibing like it was 1998.

Check out the exchange between TMZ and YG and let us know if you think Lauryn Hill will ever actually drop a new album in the comments section below.

Another familiar face is about to make an appearance at Young Thug’s RICO trial. Rich Homie Quan has been called to testify.

As reported by HipHopDX the former Rich Gang member will see his former collaborator in person in court. According to the X, formerly known as Twitter, account @ThuggerDaily, a fan account that provides daily updates on Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan has been formally subpoenaed by the State of Georgia to testify. “He is expected to take the stand in the upcoming few weeks. Just to be clear – this does NOT mean he cooperated or will cooperate” the caption read. The post also included a screenshot of the subpoena which reads confirms the Lieutenant Investigator’s serving of Dequantes Lamar, Rich Homie Quan’s government name.

This subpoena should not be taken as a sign that Rich Homie Quan will be taking the stand against Young Thug. A subpoena is simply a written order that requires an individual to appear before a court during a legal proceeding. The two previously collaborated during their run at Cash Money Records with their biggest being “Lifestyle”. Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug would go their separate ways but Quan has always spoken highly on Thug.

In an interview with VladTV he revealed those were some of the best years of his life. “Even now I don’t have no bad blood with [Young] Thug or Bird [Man]. We were all in a great place in our life and that’s what it is about. At any time we can press play and do it again” he said.

It is unclear when Rich Homie Quan will testify.

Diddy Shares Apology Over Disturbing Cassie Ventura Hotel Video: ‘I’m Truly Sorry’

Sean “Diddy” Combs has issued an apology in response to a 2016 video that appears to show him assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel.

On Sunday morning (May 19), the hip-hop mogul took to social media to share a 70-second video of himself taking responsibility for his actions in the disturbing clip.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy says in his apology video, which he posted to Instagram. “I was f—ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”

In the video, obtained by CNN and dated March 5, 2016, Combs appears to shove Ventura to the ground near an elevator bank, kick her several times while she lies on the ground and drag her down a hallway.

Combs continued his apology, saying, “I went out and sought professional help. Had to go into therapy, into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Trending on Billboard

The hip-hop star’s apology arrives on the heels of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office issuing a statement that Combs won’t be prosecuted over his actions in the 2016 video.

“We find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch,” the office of L.A. District Attorney George Gascón wrote in a statement on Instagram Friday (May 17). “If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.”

The statement added that law enforcement has not presented the L.A. County DA’s office with “a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr. Combs, but we encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services.”

The contents of the video mirror an assault allegation Ventura made in a now-settled lawsuit she filed against Diddy in November, in which she also alleged one instance of rape and another instance of Combs forcing her to have sex with male sex workers while he masturbated.

“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs,” said Ventura’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, in a statement sent to Billboard. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

Ventura had an on-again, off-again relationship with Combs for 11 years until they split in 2018. In the lawsuit, she said she met Combs in 2005 when she was 19 and he was 37. After signing to his Bad Boy Records label, Ventura claimed that Combs “lured” her into a romantic relationship in which he “asserted complete control” over her life.

Since Ventura filed her lawsuit late last year, Combs has been hit with four additional sexual misconduct lawsuits. In November, the mogul stepped down as chairman of his digital media company Revolt before reportedly selling his stake in the company in March. Also in March, federal agents conducted raids of Combs’ L.A. and Miami homes “in connection” with a federal sex trafficking investigation, according to CNN.

Combs has strongly denied all allegations of sexual assault made against him. “Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged,” he said in a statement posted to social media on Dec. 6. “I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

Lil Wayne is a living legend, and he was feeling the love from the raucous Kansas crowd. Weezy headlined Travis Kelce’s Kelce Jam 2024 presented by Jim Beam on Saturday night (May 18) about a half-hour outside Kansas City across the Missouri state line.

Thousands filled the outdoor Azura Amphitheater on a sweltering day donning unique outfits celebrating their beloved Kansas City Chiefs as well as themed-fits surrounding the superstar tight end and his music icon girlfriend Taylor Swift, who was across the globe performing in Stockholm, Sweden, on her Eras Tour.

The New Orleans rap deity followed sets from 2 Chainz and Diplo while the crowd anxiously awaited the main attraction when Wayne popped out just shy of midnight CT to 2008’s Jay-Z-assisted “Mr. Carter,” bringing all of the fans to their feet.

As only Weezy could, he casually hit the stage smoking a blunt while rocking a Gucci hat, a black long-sleeve with baggy Gucci shorts and combat boots. “Trav, you brought ’em out tonight. One time for my motherf—-g n—a Travie, man,” Wayne said while taken aback by the staggering numbers in the audience, which seemed to be more than he anticipated. “God I didn’t even see ’em. Up top, make some f—–g noise, damn!”

The energy was taken to another level when Weezy brought out his Welcome 2 ColleGrove running mate and frequent collaborator 2 Chainz.

After running through “Rich As F–k,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end even joined the performance of “Duffle Bag Boy.” Kelce fittingly brought a Louis Vuitton duffle bag with him, but inside was the Vince Lombardi Trophy, which Chainz briefly rented from the three-time Super Bowl champ.

Earlier in the day, Kelce exclusively revealed to Billboard that “Duffle Bag Boy” was one of his all-time favorite songs and remains a pre-game playlist staple for him to this day before hitting the field.

“I’m a huge mixtape era guy,” Kelce says. “Wayne has been one of my favorites since high school, since the early 2000s. Since 2 Chainz is here, ‘Duffle Bag Boy’ is one of my favorite songs of all-time. I have it on my game day playlist and everything.”

Playaz Circle’s “Duffle Bag Boy” arrived in 2007 and reached No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Outside of the Tity Boi cameo, Lil Wayne kept the setlist similar to his Welcome to Tha Carter Tour from last year, which included fan-favorites like “Hustler Musik,” “I’m Goin In,” “Lollipop,” “Let the Beat Build,” “Blunt Blowin,” “Fireman,” “Mrs. Officer,” “We Be Steady Mobbin’” and “The Motto” before wrapping up with “A Milli.”

Weezy enjoyed himself so much throughout the hour-long set that he hopes to be performing at Kelce Jam 2025, if Travis will have him. “Trav, I don’t know if you do this every year. But make sure I’m on the list every f—–g year,” he pleaded with the Chiefs star.

As one fan bluntly put it while leaving the venue as Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” serenaded those left, “That was f—–g awesome.”

Anitta’s Baile Funk Experience Tour Setlist: Here’s Every Song From Her Kick-Off Show

Brazilian superstar Anitta kicked off her Baile Funk Experience, a world tour that includes her first concert series in North America, this Saturday (May 18) in Mexico City.

The start of the trek took place during the third edition of the Tecate Emblema festival, held Friday and Saturday at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the F1 venue in Mexico, where the artist was part of a stellar lineup that on its second day included Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado, Calvin Harris, Nicki Nicole, Miranda!, Aitana, Inna and Empress Of.

The show began with traditional Brazilian songs including Maria Bethânia’s “Carta de Amor,” while a group of dancers performed capoeira moves in honor of Afro-Brazilian culture. With this, they anticipated what Anitta was preparing for the audience: a total explosion of wild funk.

Produced by Live Nation, Baile Funk Experience includes stops in Latin America, the U.S. and Europe. The 20-date tour is in support of Funk Generation, the latest album from the trilingual singer, which highlights the Brazilian funk that has influenced her career.

Keep reading for details on where to get tickets to see Adele live, and how much you can expect to pay for the most affordable (and most expensive) tickets.

Where to Get Adele Tickets

The final round of tickets to Adele’s Las Vegas residency sold out at Ticketmaster last year, but fans can find plenty of resale tickets on Vivid Seats, StubHub and SeatGeek.

How much do Adele tickets cost? Right now, tickets are in high demand, which means prices are skyrocketing. Most of the tickets for May and June range from approximately $570-$770, and up to $3,000 for the most expensive tickets.

If you want to see Adele perform over Memorial Day weekend, tickets are approximately $600 and up at StubHub and Vivid Seats, and prices are likely to get higher as the holiday weekend approaches. (Want a discount on tickets? Use code BB2024 to save $20 off $200 or more at Vivid Seats.)

Weekends With Adele runs from May 17 until June 15 and resumes in October through the end of November.

Adele’s Germany shows will take place between Aug. 2 and Aug. 31. Resale tickets are available on StubHub and Vivid Seats for around $100 to $150 for the cheapest tickets, but most of the seats are priced closer to the $300-$500 range, and over $1,000 for some shows.

The “Hello” singer will travel overseas for a round of summer shows at the Open Air Arena in Munich, Germany, Adele announced in January.

“So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans. However, I was too curious not to follow up and indulge in the idea – a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on?”
