If we know one thing about French Montana it’s that he’s always up for a good time and such is evident in the music videos he releases as he showcases his nightlife and events he tends to attend with his peoples.

His latest visuals to “Ride The Wave” is no different as French Montana and his crew hit up the club with a gang of hotties before taking to the stage and rocking the crowd till the break of dawn. Well, we don’t think he performed all night, but just sayin.’

Keeping the Uptown flavor going, Dave East and Mike & Keys get their Jamaican vibes going and in their Shaggy assisted clip to “Dangerous Riddum,” East and company hit up a fancy lounge in the city and use it as the backdrop while their kick their ish and rock out to some island rhythms. A Dave East and Shaggy collabo was not on our Bingo card for 2024 but we ain’t mad at it.

Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Lance Stephenson Born Ready (yes, the former NBA player), Lil Shay, and more.

Anyma Reports Selling 100,000 Tickets for Six Upcoming Sphere Shows in Less Than 24 Hours

Italian producer Anyma has today (July 23) announced selling out all six of his upcoming Sphere shows, for a total of 100,000 tickets sold.

Tickets went on sale earlier today, with a pre-sale event happening yesterday.

The first show of the run, on New Year’s Eve, was announced just last week, with five additional dates subsequently added due to what the show’s promoter Live Nation cited as “overwhelming demand.” Happening Dec. 27 – Jan. 1, the performances will make Anyma the first electronic artist to play the tech-forward Las Vegas venue since it opened in September of 2023.

“Three years ago when I started Anyma I would have never believed we’d come this far, all I can say is thank you,” the artist born Matteo Milleri wrote on Instagram. “To all 100,000 of you attending I promise to give you the best show of my life, with special surprises and guests lined up.”

Milleri has performed around the world as Anyma and as part of the longstanding duo Tale Of Us. Anyma has often been on the bill for Tale Of Us’ lauded Afterlife events, which typically feature a collection of artists performing before Tale Of Us’ headlining set.

The Oct. 13-14 Afterlife shows at the Los Angeles State Historic park collectively grossed $4.2 million and sold 37,200 tickets, according to numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore.

Afterlife is named after the record label of the same name founded by Tale Of Us in 2016, with releases largely focused on the same kind of techno and melodic techno that Anyma is known for.

The Sphere performance will find Anyma bringing his Genesys show to Las Vegas, marking the final times this show will be performed. The performance is officially titled Afterlife Presents Anyma: The End of Genesys and will feature yet to be announced special guests.

Snoop Dogg Mourns Death of His Cousin & ‘Doggystyle’ Cover Artist Darryl ‘Joe Cool’ Daniel

On Monday, Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to share the sad news about the death of his older cousin, illustrator Darryl “Joe Cool” Daniel, the artist behind his Doggystyle album cover.

The post simply says “R.I.P. my big cuzn joe cool” along with a video Daniel took while hanging out at the studio with Snoop’s 2017 song “Promise You This” playing in the background.

Joe Cool, as cousins Snoop and Daz Dillinger called him, was instrumental in Snoop’s branding. Signing his work under the name Joe Cizzool, he illustrated the iconic artwork for the Long Beach rapper’s seminal debut album Doggystyle. Daniel was also responsible for the Gin and Juice single artwork, as well as the back of The Doggfather CD and the cover art for The Last Meal.

Daz also paid tribute to his late cousin with a picture of him, Snoop and Joe Cool hanging out as well as a couple pics of Daniel highlighting his art.

The caption reads, “REST N PEACE DARYL JOE COOL DANIEL. MY BIGG CUZZN THIS REALLY HURTS WE GREW UP TOGETHER U WAS THERE FROM DAY ONE IM GONE REALLY REALLY MISS U BIGG CUZ.”

According to an interview with HipHopDX in 2013, Daniel said he was incarcerated and on drugs when his younger cousin asked him to do his album cover, but he didn’t believe Snoop was rapping with Dr. Dre at first. While he was doing a bid in California State Prison, he sent his sister a drawing of Snoop, and when his little cousin was visiting Daniel’s sister, Snoop hopped on the phone.

“He told me he was rapping with Dr. Dre,” Joe Cool told HipHopDX. “I told him, ‘That’s a goddamn lie. Blow that smoke up somebody else’s ass. Put my sister back on the phone, lyin’ ass n—a.’ He’s like, ‘I’m serious, man. I’m rapping with Dr. Dre.’ I’m like, ‘OK. All right.’ I said to my sister, ‘He rapping with N.W.A Dr. Dre?’ She said, ‘Yeah, he come out and get ’em.’ I said, ‘No sh–. Put him back on the phone.’ I said, ‘Give me 25 dollars.’ He said, ‘All right. I ain’t got no money right now, but I’ll send it to you… Joe, I’mma be the sh—, man.’”

Daniel started to believe his cousin when he played an early version of “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” over the phone; he then made good on his word and sent the money. “Then he sent me that $25, that’s when I believed him.”

He said Snoop pleaded with him to stop using drugs. “‘Get yourself off that sh–,’” Joe Cool says Snoop told him. “’I want you to do my album cover, man. I’m doing Dre’s album. Then my album gonna come out.’ He said, ‘Get your sh– together, Joe Cool.’”

That conversation changed both of their lives. “I didn’t think it would be iconic, man,” Daniel said of Doggystyle. “And then when it sold as many as it sold, and I seen my sh– up there, it just gave me…like damn. I can’t believe it. My artwork is out there, ’cause Snoop let it come. He gave me the opportunity, man. He got me a little bit of 15 minutes of fame up in the world. It’s been 20 years, man. He gave me that opportunity. Man, I love him for it.”

Rest in peace, Joe Cizzool.

Double Win for Venesti: ‘Es Normal’ Tops Latin Rhythm Airplay & Latin Pop Airplay Charts

Venesti celebrates a double win with “Es Normal,” as his latest single crowns Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts (dated July 27). The track is the fourth single from parent album De La Nada to enter a Billboard chart.

“It’s really important to lead the Latin Rhythm Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts, both for me and my team,” Venesti tells Billboard. “Actually, it’s the song we picked as (the) first single and the one I listen to the most.”

Trending on Billboard

On Latin Rhythm Airplay, “Es Normal” ascends from No. 3 to crown the 25-song ranking with a 21% gain in audience impressions, up 6.6 million, logged during the July 12-18 tracking week, according to Luminate. With the ascension, Colombian Venesti picks up his second No. 1, after the one-week takeover of “Umaye” last October.

Further, the new champ also takes indie label AP Global to its second coronation on Latin Rhythm Airplay –and third top 10 overall– after it secured its first top 10 through “Pura Maldad” in June 2023.

“When we were composing the song, I was going through a real-life situation about mistrust and chatter, so we decided to write it because so many people go through the same thing,” Venesti remembers. “When the person involved heard it, she started questioning whether I had changed. But nothing, it’s been proven that such is the case, and yes, that makes the song even more special for both, me and my team.”

The Pop-Afrobeat “Es Normal” also stands steady at No. 1 for a second week on Latin Pop Airplay. There, it joins Venesti’s first champ, “No Es Normal,” with Nacho and Maffio, which held strong at the summit for 10 weeks, the longest-leading song in 2024 so far.

“Es Normal” joins three other songs stemming from Venesti’s debut studio album De La Nada, released Sept. 28 on AP Global. Those songs are the No. 11-peaking “Necesidad” (Latin Rhythm Airplay, Dec. 2022), and top 10s “Pura Maldad” (No. 10 high, June 2023) and as mentioned, “Umaye,” which granted Venesti his first ruler on any chart.

Beyond Latin Rhythm Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay, Venesti reaches for his third top 10 on the overall Latin Airplay, where “Es Normal,” produced by Milo Beat, jumps 8-4. The Colombian singer-songwriter and producer landed two champs previously on the overall radio ranking, both in less than a year: “Umaye” (Dec. 2023) and “No Es Normal,” with Nacho and Maffio, in March.
