Production is planning to kick off the new season with a 30 Rock rooftop party at the talk show’s iconic New York City headquarters. The premiere week event will feature Kelly Clarkson performing a Kellyoke medley with house band Y’All to an audience of New Yorkers, including The Kelly Clarkson Show Good Neighbors and Rad Humans, people who are stepping up for their local communities.

The Kelly Clarkson Show has been the top-rated afternoon talk show over the course of its five seasons. The show has aired 884 original episodes. Clarkson has covered more than 800 songs in the show’s popular Kellyoke segment, which has demonstrated that she can just sing about any kind of song. 2024 Grammy host Trevor Noah alluded to Clarkson’s skill in the segment when he joked at the ceremony that if winners went too long in their acceptance speeches, “We’re going to get Kelly Clarkson to cover one of your songs better than you ever could.”

Since its launch in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show has won 22 Daytime Emmy Awards, including multiple wins for outstanding daytime talk series and outstanding daytime talk series host. Clarkson has personally won eight Daytime Emmys over the course of the first five seasons of her show (compared to three Grammys over a much longer period of time). Impressively, she has won at least one Emmy in each of the five seasons.

In accepting the award for outstanding daytime talk series for the fourth consecutive year at the ceremony on June 7, Clarkson gave special thanks to NBC for listening to her concerns when she proposed moving the show from Los Angeles to New York.

“Thanks to NBC for believing in our show. … The fact that NBC, a huge company, took time and listened when I said ‘Hey, my life is not going super great. I don’t know if I can live here [in L.A.] anymore. I don’t know if I can do this.’ And they really wrapped their arms around us and they helped us move. And the move has been so great for not just me and my family but our whole show. It takes a lot of time and money and effort to do that. It is not unnoticed. I just want to say thank you for thinking of mental health as well as, you know, a product.”

The show averages 1.3 million daily viewers and has grown each season. Clarkson serves as executive producer with Alex Duda, who also serves as showrunner. Y’All is led by music director Jason Halbert.  The series is produced by Universal Television and is distributed in national syndication by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios.

Jermaine Dupri questioned the duties of Vice President Kamala Harris and why she should be president, leading to social media mocking him thoroughly.

On Friday (August 23), the legendary producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri shared a video in a post on X, formerly Twitter, as he was out for a walk/jog to express his thoughts on Vice President Kamala Harris being named the presidential nominee at the Democratic National Convention the night before. While he feels the Democrats are doing “amazing” and conceded that Harris was in a strenuous position, he wondered what would be different if she were to be elected in November. “What makes y ‘all believe that she’s going to get this stuff done if she becomes president and she’s already in the house,” he asked.

The So So Def Records founder went on to share details from a conversation he had with Vice President Harris beforehand. “I asked her like as the vice president, why they don’t let her talk when, you know, Biden seems like he needs or he needed someone to speak up to him,” he said, claiming she told him her “hands were tied.” Dupri continued, “You know, I want to see how she, if she even touches on this, because if she doesn’t touch on it, that’s the question that I feel like the people that are, that have mixed decisions about voting for her, this is one of the questions,” stating it’s a major criticism from the Republican Party. The video would earn him some serious backlash on social media, with many making fun of his past split with superstar Janet Jackson and accusing him of being a Trump supporter. He would agree to a discussion with journalist Roland Martin after he reached out to him.

In the Instagram Live conversation, Dupri began: “I’m not a Republican, alright? Let’s be clear: I am with Kamala Harris. Let’s be clear. And I feel like a lot of y’all was just talking s**t ‘cause y’all thought that I was on the other side,” adding “Everybody knows that she’s in the White House, so she has to continue to support what’s happening in the White House right now.” The former News One Now host concurred, saying: “You have more freedom to speak as a U.S. Senator or a House member than you do as a vice president.”

Randy Rainbow Ridicules ‘Certifiable Weirdo’ JD Vance in Latest Parody Video: Watch

With the 2024 U.S. presidential election just 70 days away, the candidates — Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump — are pulling out all the stops to win the contest. But internet comedian Randy Rainbow is not impressed by the tactics of Trump’s embattled running mate, JD Vance.

In his latest parody video, Rainbow takes on the vice presidential candidate head-on, starting the clip with a faux interview featuring clips of Vance. Calling the former president’s running mate a “former never Trump-er turned Trump a– licker, misogynistic bestselling author slash worst-selling VP pick ever, certifiable weirdo and catless child person,” Rainbow spends his fake interview with Vance mocking the politician’s “narrow, often sanctimonious” comments about traditional family values.

Rainbow then launches into his latest song parody, titled “JD, JD… (Married Lady).” Riffing on “Sadie, Sadie” from the 1964 Broadway hit Funny Girl, Rainbow ridicules the Ohio senator for his continued set of public gaffes as well as his past statements about Trump. “Oh, how this cracked Ohioan/ Sure changed his act since he began,” he sang. “It seems like only just last night/ That he called Donald ‘Hitler light.’”

Slapping on a Vance-shaped beard, Rainbow continues to call out Vance’s growing unpopularity among voters, while also reminding the embattled VP pick that “Donald likes his veeps well-hung,” in reference to reports that Trump allegedly supported chants from rioters on Jan. 6, 2021, calling to “hang Mike Pence.”

Reaching the end of his number, Rainbow makes his point abundantly clear when it comes to Vance’s policy changes since joining the Trump ticket: “Oh, he flips and flops, girl, sit and spin/ How long until they trade him in?”

Charli XCX Says ‘Kamala Harris IS Brat’ Wasn’t Meant as Political Endorsement: ‘I’m Not Bob Dylan’

Charli XCX accidentally on purpose drew herself into the current heated American presidential race with what she thought was an innocuous tribute to Vice President Kamala Harris’ ineffable, no f’s given qualities. And while her “Kamala IS Brat” tweet last month helped boost the enthusiasm about what was then the very-new White House campaign by the current VP-turned-Democratic-candidate, Charli told Vulture that the tweet fired off while hanging around her pool in L.A. was meant to be something “positive and lighthearted” rather than a strict political endorsement.

Just days after Harris announced her intention to run for the Democratic nomination following President Joe Biden’s historic decision to give up his second run for the nation’s top job, Charli made noise by announcing “Kamala IS brat.”

Trending on Billboard

The reference was to the title of XCX’s new album and a messy-on-purpose lifestyle Charli has described as someone who can be high lux at times, or who has a “pack of cigs, a Bic lighter and a strappy white top with no bra” at others. Very aware of what she was doing and how it might land, Charli watched as the Harris campaign immediately seized on what seemed like a cool girl nod to their insurgent effort, by instantly rebranding the Kamala HQ‘s X page with the same font and lime green logo style as the singer’s album title.

“To be on the right side of democracy, the right side of women’s rights, is hugely important to me,” said Charlie, who as a British citizen cannot vote in the U.S. election, but whose tweet became a cringe-worthy talking point on cable and broadcast news programs where confused anchors tried to figure out what the kids were talking about.

“I’m happy to help prevent democracy form failing forever,” she added, appearing to nod to the existential threat to the American political system that President Biden and Harris have said former President and third-time White House aspirant Donald Trump represents. “I obviously knew what I was doing.”

That said, she had no inkling the tweet would be seem more than 55 million times and turned into its own meta meme. “Did I think me talking about being a mess b–ch and, like partying and needing a Bic lighter and a pack of Marlboro Lights would end up on CNN? No,” she said, noting that she is not, and has never aspired to be, “a political artist… I’m not Bob Dylan and I’ve never pretended to be… My music is not political. Everything I do in my life feeds back into my art. Everything I say, wear, think, enjoy — it all funnels back into my art. Politics doesn’t feed my art.”

In the same interview, Charli revealed that she is already working on another “full-length other project” that will definitely be “in the bratosphere, so to speak.” At press time no additional information was available on that project.

Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds of a Feather’ Flies High Atop Global Charts for Third Week

Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” nests atop both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts for a third week. Two weeks earlier, the song became her first leader on each list.

Plus, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars bound in at No. 2 on each tally with “Die With a Smile” and LISA’s “New Woman,” featuring Rosalía, debuts at No. 6 on Global Excl. U.S.

The Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the United States.

Trending on Billboard

Chart ranks are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts’ calculations.

Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” holds atop the Global 200 with 86.4 million streams (up 1%) and 10,000 sold (down 35%) worldwide Aug. 16-22. (A week earlier, its sales were boosted after she performed the song at the 2024 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony on Aug. 11.)

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile” soars onto the Global 200 at No. 2 with 75.1 million streams and 31,000 sold worldwide following its release Aug. 16. The former adds his third top 10 since the chart began, while the latter lands her first.

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” slips 2-3 on the Global 200, following three nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 beginning in June; Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, jumps 12-4, following a week at No. 1 upon its debut in May — as parent album F-1 Trillion debuts at No. 1 on the U.S.-based Billboard 200; and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” tumbles to No. 5 from its No. 3 high.

“Birds of a Feather” concurrently leads Global Excl. U.S. with 64.1 million streams (up 2%) and 5,000 sold (down 30%) outside the U.S. Aug. 16-22.

“Die With a Smile” starts at No. 2 on Global Excl. U.S. with 48.2 million streams and 13,000 sold outside the U.S. It’s Bruno Mars’ second top 10 and Lady Gaga’s first on the chart.

Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” retreats to No. 3 from its No. 2 Global Excl. U.S. best; Carpenter’s “Espresso” falls 3-4, following eight nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 beginning in May; and Jimin’s “Who” backtracks 4-5 after logging two weeks at No. 1 earlier in August.

Plus, LISA’s “New Woman,” featuring Rosalía, launches at No. 6 on Global Excl. U.S. with 54.5 million streams and 10,000 sold outside the U.S. Aug. 16-22, following its Aug. 15 release. LISA earns her fourth top 10 on the chart – the most among BLACKPINK members; Jennie boasts three, and Jisoo and Rosé have one each. Meanwhile, LISA matches the four top 10s that BLACKPINK has achieved as a group. Rosalía adds her fifth top 10 on the chart.

The Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Aug. 31, 2024) will update on Billboard.com Tuesday, Aug. 27. For both charts, the top 100 titles are available to all readers on Billboard.com, while the complete 200-title rankings are visible on Billboard Pro, Billboard’s subscription-based service. Kanye West Shouts Out Drake & Slanders adidas At South Korean Concert

Now that Drake has become arguably one of the most ostracized men in the Hip-Hop game (he can thank Kendrick Lamar for that), he seems to have found an unlikely ally in another rap star-turned-social pariah, Kanye West, respectfully.

Over the weekend, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign were out in South Korea rocking the crowd at the Goyang Stadium in Seoul when Ye decided to dedicate one of his performances to Drake. As “I Wonder” came on the loudspeakers Yeezy said, “This one for Drake.” Having been engaged in a weird feud with the King of the North for the past few years, we can only wonder if Kanye is extending an olive branch to the embattled Canadian crooner, or if this is somehow another subliminal that only he and Kanye can understand.

You never know with these guys.

On the other hand, Kanye did take the time to remind everyone that he’s still not happy with how his relationship with adidas turned out and led the crowd in a “F*ck Adidas!” chant as their termination of Yeezy led to Kanye going from a billionaire to a millionaire overnight.

For a country who’s main language is Korean, they really knew how to say “F*ck adidas” very well. Just sayin’.

While we know adidas won’t respond to any Kanye slander anytime soon, we do wonder if Drake will be reaching out to Kanye (or vice versa) following this latest turn of events. Will Drake and Kanye be reuniting at some point in the near future? Is Kanye trying to officially bury the hatchet with his sometimes rival? Does Drake even care to repair his relationship with Kanye at this point?

We don’t know, but best believe the whole Hip-Hop world is watching and interested to see how this ultimately plays out.

We’re sure adidas couldn’t care less though.

What do y’all think Kanye’s angle is in his shouting out of Drake? Let us know in the comments section below.

A$AP Rocky fans will have to wait just a bit longer for the release of Don’t Be Dumb. The rapper has announced it is delayed to later this year.

As spotted on Hypebeast, the “Good for You” rapper recently responded to a post by NPR on X, formerly Twitter, where the publication reported the news. A$AP Rocky confirmed it saying, “LEAKS & SAMPLE CLEARANCES ARE DISRUPTING THE ALBUM. ITS BEEN 6 YEARS & I WANNA MAKE THE BEST ALBUM EVER. IM SORRY FOR THE WAIT.” Recently he spoke to Billboard, in an in depth interview where he revealed that he has been working on this project for the last couple of years. “At this point I’ve been working on music for six years, but they leak my music and I get over it and say, ‘F**k it,’ ” he explained. “They leak a lot of the music and it ruins it. Like my ‘Taylor Swift’ video. I was pissed off about it, so I never released it.”

Later on during the conversation he touches on his involvement in the Rap civil war that occurred earlier this year, specifically his back-and-forth with Drake. “You got to realize, certain ni***s was throwing shots for years. I ain’t in the middle of that sh*t,” he said. “That’s not how I retaliate right now. I got bigger fish to fry than some pu**y boys. It is real beef outside. It is real. Ni***s getting really clipped and blitzed every day. Ni***as sniping ni***s every day. That little kitty sh*t ain’t about nothing.”

Mexico’s Foro Sol Reopens as Estadio GNP Seguros: 5 Things to Know

Two assignments in three decades. Mexican businessman Alejandro Soberón Kuri, CEO of Mexican promoter OCESA, asked architect Pepe Moyao to build a venue on a simple soccer field on the east side of Mexico City to host a show for British legend Paul McCartney in 1993, which later became the iconic Foro Sol. Thirty years later, Moyao was tasked with the remodeling of the same venue for its transformation into the new Estadio GNP Seguros.

“Wouldn’t you like to see a permanent building here? Why don’t you do it? If it’s done, I’ll pay for it!” Moyao recalls Soberón saying when he invited him to create the original project.

Interestingly, it was not the ex Beatle who finally inaugurated the stadium in 1993 but Madonna, who at that time was touring with The Girlie Show to promote her album Erotica. Four years later, in 1997, it was named Foro Sol and its opening under that name was officiated with a concert by rock icon David Bowie. Since then, a myriad of international stars have performed at this place.

Trending on Billboard

But Moyao, who at that time was in his 30s and a decade earlier had won a youth architecture competition organized by UNESCO, not only built the most important music forum in Mexico, but also a place to hosts events beyond concerts.

“From the beginning, I thought it could fit a baseball stadium, which could also accommodate a racing track, so I thought of creating a multifunctional building, where the stage changes, is removed, moves,” explains the architect. “For six years, this place has been considered the best F1 circuit in the world.”

This year, after a six-month renovation, the renowned Estadio GNP Seguros opened its doors with three mega-concerts by American pop star Bruno Mars, held last August 8th, 10th, and 11th, with an attendance of 65,000 people each night, according to OCESA.

After this, a series of international stars including Metallica, Paul McCartney, The Killers, Eric Clapton, Twenty One Pilots, and Iron Maiden, as well as Latin stars like Feid and Natanael Cano, will perform at the stadium in the coming weeks and months. (For a list of concerts scheduled this year in Mexico, click here).

Below, five things you should know about Estadio GNP Seguros, told to Billboard Español by its creator, architect Pepe Moyao.

1. A Multifunctional Venue

Since its inception, when it was called Foro Sol, the place was designed as a multifunctional building that could adapt to the needs of the event, whether it be a mega rock concert or as the F1 home in Mexico.

“It is a multifunctional building where the stage changes, is removed, moves. It has been recognized six times as the best F1 circuit globally, and it is the only circuit where 30,000 people can watch the award ceremony up front, not done in the pits as in other countries,” Moyao says. “After the F1 ends, you can change it and produce a concert, it has that multi-functionality. It is a unique place in the world, a stadium designed exclusively for entertainment.”

2. Rainwater Reuse

With a capacity of up to 65,000 attendees, the stadium offers new benefits to provide greater comfort and services to fans, including a new 13,800 square meters (148,500 square feet) roof for sun protection and rainwater storage for subsequent reuse.

“The place had an expansion of more than 33,000 square meters of additional construction. From the top of the stands, we have a roof of over 13,000 square meters that will harvest rainwater, and what is captured will go to a cistern that will feed the bathrooms, be used for washing and watering planters, so we can reuse the water,” explains the architect.

3. Greater Comfort for the Viewer

The remodeled venue includes more comfortable seating for the audience, as well as new and improved spaces for the general audience and corporates.

“Previously, people sitting in the stands had to go down about 9 and a half meters to get to the bathrooms. Today, you go down 3 meters,” Moyao points out. “Let’s say that everything is focused on people’s greater comfort.”

4. Cutting Edge Technology

More than 280 state-of-the-art screens were installed in the venue to improve the visualization of the shows and provide more timely information to attendees. This is in addition to internal and peripheral stadium lighting for greater visibility and security.

“All installations, both electrical and hydraulic, are cutting edge, none of the old was preserved. There are LED lamps and low electricity consumption equipment,” said the architect.

5. 177 Days Construction & More Numbers

Although the renovation project of Estadio GNP Seguros lasted about two years, the remodeling took 177 actual days. Additionally, Moyao highlights over 710,000 man-hours went into this; the work of about 1,000 people; 15 companies working simultaneously. During that time, 24,436 shell-type seats were installed.

Shaboozey Scores Seventh Week at No. 1 on Hot 100, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars Debut

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” adds a seventh nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single, which became the singer-songwriter’s first leader on the list in July, claims outright 2024’s longest reign, surpassing the six nonconsecutive weeks on top for Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” featuring Morgan Wallen. The latter, now at No. 2, led the chart in May-July.

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” likewise logs the sole longest command this year on the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart, notching an 11th week at No. 1. It bests Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” which ruled for 10 weeks in February-April.

Also in the Hot 100’s top 10, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars blast in at No. 3 with “Die With a Smile.” The superstar pairing marks the 19th top 10 for the latter and the 18th for the former.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Aug. 31, 2024) will update on Billboard.com Tuesday, Aug. 27.
