Benny Blanco Offers Up 8 Simple Rules For Being a ‘Sexy Gentleman’ in People’s Sexiest Man Alive Countdown

The producer who is dating Selena Gomez is featured in the magazine’s anticipated sexiest issue with tips on epic first dates and cooking.

By now you’ve likely seen or heard about Benny Blanco‘s skills in the kitchen. The Grammy-nominated producer who’s been dating Selena Gomez for the past year offered up some of his top tips for being a good boyfriend in a preview of People magazine’s annual Sexiest Man Alive issue.

Blanco, 36, who the magazine said will be included in the upcoming annual countdown of hunks, shared what he called his eight secrets to success in love and life, stressing that you should never play “games,” and that you should always bring your A-game for every outing.

“I [still] go all out for every date. It doesn’t mean spending your entire bank account. It means being attentive and listening,” said Blanco, who has been pictured courtside at Lakers games cuddling with Gomez and going all out for their first Valentine’s Day together, where he brought an air fryer to a rented out movie theater so he could provide the singer with her favorite snacks.

The producer offered the magazine a series of eight simple tips for being a sexy gent. They include:

  • Learning how to cook – “Even if you’re terrible at cooking, [your partner will] like it because you did it. Ask your partner what they want to eat. Don’t try to cook them what you want to eat. If you don’t know how to cook it — learn it,” said Blanco, who dropped his Open Wide: A Cookbook for Friends cookbook earlier this year. Also, if you can’t cook, he said you can always order Postmates and pretend you whipped it up yourself. Bonus tip: “Try to be chivalrous: Tell her how pretty she is. Chivalry’s not dead.”
  • Make the first date an experience: The take-away you want is your partner saying, “‘Oh my God, I’m calling all my friends. This was the craziest thing. We were on the back of a tractor trailer flying and he had me spinning out the…’ It’s got to be something insane because you want to leave an impression. The person’s going to be going out on a bunch of first dates, and you got to secure your spot,” he said. He noted that one time Selena rented out a botanical garden for them and recalled making movie theater nachos for Gomez for Valentine’s Day and deep frying her favorite pickles from Texas for her.
  • Dress for success: It’s not about wearing the most expensive thing, it’s about the perfect mix of high-low, like a vintage Prada jacket with a killer thrift store find.
  • Self-care counts: Good skin, not showering every day and a signature scent (tobacco and cotton candy) that makes you smell a “little bit like a man [and] a little bit feminine.”
  • Be a great host: Blanco said he loves to host dinner parties and often invites people who don’t know each other, or even shouldn’t hang together to make things interesting. “I want someone who writes songs sitting next to an 80-year-old florist,” he told the magazine. “I think age is nothing but a number. I want a 3 year old sitting next to a scientist and just hear what they’re talking about because I know it’s going to be some crazy s–t.”
  • Moms matter: Blanco’s best friend is his mom, who he goes to the farmer’s market with every Sunday. He also cooks her lunch, gets her a new orchid every Mother’s Day and they go swimming and gossip together.
  • Turn gift-giving into high art: Never get the thing that everyone else is buying by remembering something a friend said and using that memory to get them a gift they actually want. To make things sexier, Blanco also noted that most of his gifts are homemade. Gomez gets it. The first time he and Gomez realized they were going to be together, she made him a bear that said “I miss you so much. You’re going to be okay. I’ll see you when I get back,” when its hand was pressed.
  • No ghosting: Blanco has never completely blanked anyone — “you have to be demonic to fully ghost someone” — because he thinks that a gentleman would never do that. “I completely understand if you go out on a date and the guy’s being totally creepy — you should totally ghost the f–k out of him,” he said. “But I don’t want to ghost anyone. I always think whenever I’m doing anything like that, I’ll think about my mom and I’ll say like, ‘Oh, I want to treat this person like I would treat my mom and how I’d want someone to treat my mom.’”

The Late Show host Stephen Colbert will announced this year’s Sexiest Man Alive cover star on Tuesday night (Nov. 12).

StockX Announces New CEO Will Be Taking Over In 2025

For the past few years StockX has seen its reputation take all kinds of hits with customers accusing them of selling fake sneakers and Nike essentially solidifying as much in a court of law.

Now, with the sneaker reselling market struggling like never before, StockX is looking to shake things up on a corporate level. They’ve decided that a change in leadership is needed at the current moment. According to Nice Kicks, current StockX CEO Scott Cutler will be stepping down from his position at the end of the year, and the company’s co-founder, COO Greg Schwartz, will be taking over Jan. 1, 2025. Though Cutler will be taking a backseat to Schwartz, he will remain on board as an advisor as StockX tries to figure out which direction they will go in as the sneaker game isn’t what it was just a few years ago.

We think they can start by upping their authentication process and figure out how to keep fake sneakers from getting in the hands of high-paying customers, but hey, that’s just us. No shots.

Per Nice Kicks:

Since taking the reins in 2019, Scott Cutler has significantly expanded StockX’s global footprint. Under his leadership, StockX entered numerous international markets, helping make the platform a go-to destination for sneakerheads, collectors, and streetwear fans worldwide. Cutler also emphasized StockX’s dedication to transparency and authenticity, strengthening the company’s reputation as a trusted platform in the resale space.

However, one of Cutler’s most talked-about initiatives has been the launch of StockX’s Vault NFT project. Launched as an innovative step into the digital collectibles market, Vault NFTs allowed users to buy, sell, and trade digital representations of physical products held by StockX. The project quickly attracted attention and sparked a legal dispute with Nike, who argued that the NFTs infringed on its trademarks. The lawsuit remains unresolved, but it underscores the bold direction StockX pursued under Cutler’s leadership, venturing into new markets that challenged traditional industry boundaries.

Those NFTs really ended bricking worse than those Yeezy Pods that dropped last year. Just terrible.

Though StockX is now working with Walmart to move some sneakers (nah, forreal), it’s hard to see how StockX can become the force it once was in it’s heyday with the sneaker resell market at an all-time low.

But hey, that’s why these CEOs and COOs make the big bucks, right?

Tekashi 6ix9ine Reaches Plea Deal With Feds, Facing 30 Days In The Clink

As we all know Tekashi 6ix9ine is no stranger to jail time, but unfortunately for him, he’s no longer aligned with anybody to throw under the bus to save his own rainbow-colored ass.

According to TMZ, the most famous snitch in Hip-Hop history is once again facing more jail time as he and feds have reached a plea deal after the “Gummo” rapper was booked for violating the terms of his release just last month. While Tekashi has agreed to own up to his transgressions, prosecutors are set to recommend he stay in jail for another 30 days before he undergo another year of supervised release once he completes his bid.

Per TMZ:

During the first 90 days after his incarceration, the feds want Tekashi on home incarceration for 30 days, home detention for the next 30, and on a curfew for the last 30.

After this period, the government says he may travel domestically for work with his probation officer’s approval. The government also recommends he submit to random drug testing.

Worth noting … this is just what the feds are recommending — a judge still hasn’t signed off on the proposed sentence yet.

Given his history of run-ins with the law, we wouldn’t be surprised if the judge overseeing this case agrees to the terms that the Southern District Of New York is proposing.

The news comes on the heels of Tekashi 6ix9ine being booked for performing at Las Vegas without permission from his probation officer. After testing positive for meth and refusing to show up for another drug test, 6ix9ine was arrested and has been locked up since.

The man is doing meth now? He’ll be back in the bing before the year is out. Just sayin’.

What do y’all think of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s latest setback? Let us know in the comments section below.

‘Goodbye Joe’ & ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’ Nos. 1 & 2 on Digital Song Sales Chart After Election

Two election-related tracks head up Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart dated Nov. 16, as Tom MacDonald and Nova Rockafeller’s “Goodbye Joe” debuts at No. 1 and a new version of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” with Drew Jacobs opens at No. 2.

In the week ending Nov. 7, “Goodbye Joe” sold 12,000 downloads in the U.S., according to Luminate. “God Bless the U.S.A.” sold 11,000.

“Goodbye Joe” is MacDonald’s fourth Digital Song Sales No. 1, following “Fake Woke” in 2021, “Ghost” in 2023 and “You Missed” this July. Rockafeller’s previous best was alongside MacDonald and Brandon Hart on “No Good Bastards,” which peaked at No. 15 in 2021.

“Goodbye Joe,” which also debuts at No. 1 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, finds the pair celebrating the upcoming end of President Joe Biden’s term in office after he withdrew his candidacy for a second term in July. Former President Donald Trump won a second term on Election Day, Nov. 5, four days after the song’s release.

“God Bless the U.S.A.,” meanwhile, is a rock redo of Greenwood’s 1984 patriotic single, which hit No. 7 that year on Hot Country Songs. He’s joined by Jacobs, who previously reigned on Digital Song Sales as part of a cover of Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country” alongside State of Mine in 2021.

In addition to its No. 2 bow on Digital Song Sales, “God Bless the U.S.A.” bows at No. 1 on Rock Digital Song Sales, marking Greenwood’s first leader and Jacobs’ second, following “God’s Country.” It also starts at No. 2 on Country Digital Song Sales. Greenwood’s original “God Bless the U.S.A.” led Digital Song Sales for a week in July 2020.

Concurrently, the new version of “God Bless the U.S.A.” debuts at No. 28 on the multimetric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. In addition to its song sales, the tune earned 371,000 official U.S. streams. “Goodbye Joe,” meanwhile, starts at No. 49 on Hot Country Songs, with 1.6 million streams in addition to its sales.

Both “Goodbye Joe” and “God Bless the U.S.A.” were released Nov. 1, capitalizing on the then-imminent U.S. presidential election. Greenwood’s solo original version concurrently re-enters Digital Song Sales at No. 13 (3,000 sold, up 267%).

All Billboard charts dated Nov. 16 will update on Billboard.com on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ Logs Landmark 17th Week at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” holds at No. 1 for a 17th total week atop the Billboard Hot 100. Over the chart’s 66-year history, the song is now outright the longest-leading No. 1 ever by an artist with no accompanying acts, surpassing the 16-week command of Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” in 2023.

Overall, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” now trails only Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, in 2019, for the longest No. 1 run – 19 weeks – in the Hot 100’s archives.

Meanwhile, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which became Shaboozey’s first Hot 100 leader in July, one-ups “Last Night” for the longest reign of the 2020s.

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” additionally extends the longest rule this year, 21 weeks, on the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart. It’s one of only eight titles to reach the milestone since the survey became the genre’s all-encompassing songs chart in 1958. Plus, of hits that have topped both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is now solely the longest-leading ever on the former, passing “Last Night.”

Elsewhere in the Hot 100’s top 10, Tyler, The Creator’s “Sticky,” featuring GloRilla, Sexyy Red and Lil Wayne, jumps 14-10. It’s Tyler, The Creator’s third career top 10, all tallied in the past two weeks from his new album, Chromakopia, which posts a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Nov. 16, 2024) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, Nov. 12). Post-Election Racist Texts Sent To Black People In 25 States

Text messages sent to Black people across the United States after the presidential election have caught the attention of federal authorities.

In the wake of the presidential election Tuesday (Nov. 5), a disturbing phenomenon has occurred in which Black people have received racist text messages summoning them for slavery. The incidents have occurred in close to 25 states, prompting federal agencies to begin investigations.

The troubling messages followed a pattern of addressing the recipients by their name and telling them they were selected to “pick cotton” at a plantation, then ordering them to be ready for pick-up at a certain time. Some variations included references to President-elect Donald Trump, and others included, “NO PHONES.”

The NAACP stated that the messages had been received by college students in Alabama, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. New York State Attorney General Letitia James confirmed that middle school and high school students as well as college-age students also received those messages in the state. Officials in Connecticut and California confirmed that residents there also received those texts.

The texts were reportedly sent out as early as Wednesday morning (Nov. 6), with reporting by CBS News affirming that it was through a service called Text Now, which offers free phone numbers. The company issued a statement as the news broke, writing: “One or more of our accounts may have been used to send text messages in violation of our terms of service,” adding it shut down the accounts as it became aware. The Federal Bureau confirmed that it was on the case in a statement: “The FBI is aware of the offensive and racist text messages sent to individuals around the country and is in contact with the Justice Department and other federal authorities on the matter.”

In a statement, Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung said that the president-elect’s “campaign has absolutely nothing to do with these text messages.” Trump’s presidential campaign was rife with racist sentiments, ranging from slandering Haitian immigrants in Ohio in August, to having a comedian insult Puerto Ricans at his controversial Madison Square Garden rally last month. The barrage of messages queue up the most dangerous times for Black people in the United States. “These actions are not normal,” said NAACP President Derrick Johnson. “And we refuse to let them be normalized.”

In the video, a bare-faced Gaga gets glam while detailing some of the benefits of her beauty line.

“Since starting Haus Labs, I’ve been able to really learn a lot about not just how people are using makeup and skincare products but also how products are made. That’s been really exciting,” she says. “One of my core goals at the company is to develop innovative and high-performing products that are meaningfully better than anything else you can find on the shelf. With our foundation, I really feel like we did that. Without using many of the harmful additives and chemicals that clean brands use every day.”

To start, Gaga applies the Triclone Skin Tech Medium Coverage Foundation (shade 110). Haus Labs’ foundation is powered by fermented arnica a plant-based topical used for skin irritations such as inflammation, redness, bruises and swelling.

“This ingredient is super special. It was inspired by own issues with redness on my face,” Gaga explains. “I have worn so much makeup for so many years, mostly on stage but off stage as well. Makeup really wrecked my skin, so something that’s really special about our foundation is it’s 70 percent skincare. I know we hear sometimes that foundations have a couple good ingredients in them, the truth is a lot of foundations use a little bit [of clean ingredients] and it’s not very active on the skin.”

The foundation offers light coverage with hydrating ingredients, and it’s available in 51 shades and is one of the top rated products on the brand’s site with over 11,000 customer reviews.

“It was so important that we had 51 shades,” Gaga continues. “Within 51 shades there are six shade families and within those shade families there’s a true balance. There are warm, neutral and cool tones for everyone.”

Watch Ariana Grande React to Harry Daniels Serenading Her With ‘Put Your Hearts Up’

At the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked, Harry Daniels made the gutsy decision to serenade Ariana Grande with her debut single “Put Your Hearts Up” — a song she isn’t exactly fond of.

But luckily, it paid off. In a video posted to the influencer’s TikTok over the weekend, the pop star spotted Daniels in the crowd as she was greeting Wicked fans and immediately recognized him, cheering, “Oh my god it’s Harry Daniels!”

After feigning running away from his inevitable performance — the social media star has built a platform off forcing celebrities to watch him sing — Grande listened intently as he sang a few bars from the 2011 bubblegum single. “Oh my god, I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life,” the Grammy winner said sweetly after it was over, hugging Daniels. “It’s so nice to see you, thank you for being here.”

Trending on Billboard

“THIS IS MY GLINDA YALL IDCCCC,” Daniels, who also shared a photo with Grande on Instagram, captioned the clip.

Of all the songs in Grande’s multiplatinum discography, “Put Your Hearts Up” is on the record as one of the singer’s least favorites. In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, she called it “geared toward kids” and “so inauthentic and fake,” adding, “That was the worst moment of my life. For the video, they gave me a bad spray tan and put me in a princess dress and had me frolic around the street. The whole thing was straight out of hell. I still have nightmares about it, and I made them hide it on my Vevo page.”

Since then, Grande has released seven studio albums, six of which have topped the Billboard 200, most recently 2024’s Eternal Sunshine. However, the vocalist has revealed that she now plans on focusing more on acting and musical theater after falling back in love with both while working on the Wicked films, a far cry from her mindset at the time of that same 2014 Rolling Stone interview (“I hate acting,” a then 20-year-old Grande said. “It’s fun, but music has always been first and foremost with me.”)

“I’m always going to make music, I’m always going to go on stage, I’m always going to do pop stuff, I pinky promise,” she said on the Nov. 6 episode of Las Culturistas. “But I don’t think doing it at the rate I’ve been doing it for the past 10 years is where I see the next 10 years … Whatever makes sense, or whatever roles we see fit, or where I could really do a good job or honor the material, I would really love to. I think it’s a lot better for me.”

The first Wicked film hits theaters Nov. 22. Watch Daniels serenade Grande below.

A New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy Is In The Works

HipHopWired Featured Video
The Mandalorian Season 2 still

Source: LucasFilm / Disney

The last Star Wars trilogy to his theaters left much to be desired as many felt the story was ok and the villain, Kylo Ren was underwhelming, but with the success of it’s Disney+ spinoff series it seems like Lucasfilms is going to be putting together another cinematic three-piece of the Star Wars saga.

According to Variety, a new Star Wars trilogy is currently in development and X-Men writer/producer, Simon Kinberg has been tapped to pen the upcoming project that for now will bring back the franchises new stars, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver. Truth be told, we could care less if Adam Driver returns (no shots). We’d rather Mark Hamill. Just sayin.’

Though we don’t know anything about what direction Kinberg will be going with the new Star Wars trilogy, best believe he’s got a lot of pressure to knock this one out the park as the fanbase has become rabid over recent decades about their beloved franchise. Luckily for him, he’s got a few good films under his belt, so there’s a good chance he’ll get things right… or as right as it can be.

Per Variety:

Kinberg is best known for writing and producing a number of “X-Men” films for 20th Century Fox, including 2006’s “The Last Stand,” 2011’s “First Class,” 2014’s “Days of Future Past,” 2016’s “Deadpool” and 2017’s “Logan,” before making his directorial debut with 2019’s spinoff “Dark Phoenix.” He’s worked with Lucasfilm on the Disney Channel animated series “Star Wars: Rebels,” which he co-created with Dave Filoni and Carrie Beck, and he consulted with director J.J. Abrams on 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Sources stress that Kinberg’s trilogy remains in early development, and it’s unclear when it’ll go into production. The filmmaker is serving as a producer on Paramount and Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man” remake, which recently went into production with Glen Powell and Josh Brolin. He’s also attached as a producer on Paramount’s next “Star Trek” movie from director Toby Haynes.

May the force be with you young Kinberg because if you mess this up, man listen…
