Go Backstage at 2024 Jingle Ball Los Angeles With NCT Dream, Paris Hilton, Shaboozey, Flavor Flav & More

‘Tis Jingle Ball season! The 2024 iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball took over the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Dec. 1, with an impressive lineup of this year’s biggest hitmakers.

SZA, Tate McRae, Meghan Trainor, Kane Brown, Benson Boone, Madison Beer, Shaboozey, T-Pain, Paris Hilton and NCT Dream all took the stage during the event, where they performed a set list of their best songs.

In addition to the main event’s talent, there were also plenty of celebrity guests in attendance, including Flavor Flav, Kiss of Life, Addison Rae, McKenna Grace, as1one, Full Circle Boys and more.

In addition to L.A., the Jingle Ball Tour hits Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Miami. See the full lineup list here.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again Sentenced to 23 Months in Prison

YoungBoy Never Broke Again (a.k.a. NBA YoungBoy) has been sentenced to 23 months in federal prison, according to new documents filed in federal court on Tuesday (Dec. 10), followed by 60 months’ probation following his release.

The sentence comes nearly four months after it was reported that the 25-year-old rapper, born Kentrell Gaulden, would plead guilty to a single count of possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

YoungBoy was indicted by federal prosecutors in 2021 after he was allegedly found with two guns during a September 2020 incident that transpired during a music video shoot in Baton Rouge, La. He was charged with violating a federal law that bans convicted felons from possessing guns, as he had previously been convicted of aggravated assault with a firearm in 2017.

While awaiting trial, YoungBoy was confined to his Salt Lake City home for more than two years, a “long period of social isolation” that his attorneys later pleaded was harming his mental health. They asked the judge in the case to loosen restrictions, including by allowing him to travel to a studio to record new music, but the judge largely denied that request in November.

That same month, YoungBoy also pleaded guilty to several counts in a separate case out of Utah in which he was charged with operating a prescription drug ring out of his home. As part of a plea deal in that case, the rapper’s four felony charges were reduced to Class A Misdemeanors and he was ordered to pay a $25,000 fine, as reported by KTVX-TV (via Associated Press).

With the winter season upon us and everyone hibernating until next summer, Benny The Butcher sees opportunity to stack some paper for the next few months before splurging during the hotter months and from the looks of his latest video, he’s doing a damn good job of that.

Once again linking up with 38 Spesh for the visuals to “Money Counter,” The Butcher and Spesh hide out at a club where they count bricks of cash with, well, a money counter and spit their bars while lauging all the way to the bank. They didn’t actually do that last part but y’all know they were at least smiling on their want to deposit all that cash.

On another side of town Roc Marciano lives his life like a boss as well and in his clip to “Chopstick” Roc rolls through the streets of his city with The Alchemist riding shotgun while they blaze a spliff and let the city lights give their diamonds something to dance to. Those were some pretty icey pieces.

These Were The 100 Most Played Artists at ADE 2024

Thousands of people from the global dance music community gathered in Amsterdam this past October for ADE 2024. The dance industry’s largest conference, this year’s event featured (as always) panels, keynotes, workshops and educational sessions. And, naturally, a lot of dancing.

Many of the artists who took part in sessions during the day got behind the decks later at shows, which ranged from small club sets to much larger multi-day affairs put on by some of the world’s biggest dance event brands.

And of course, the catalogs of a select number of artists were played more than all the others.

Now we know the 100 most played producers at this years event. The list reflects data collected at 146 events during ADE, with the data that created this list collected by KUVO Powered by DJ Monitor, who install technologies in clubs and use music recognition technology (MRT) and direct metadata capture (DMC).

Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ & Morgan Wallen Dominate 2024 Year-End TouchTunes Rankings

Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” isn’t just one of the longest-running No. 1s of all time on the Billboard Hot 100; it was also the most-played song on TouchTunes jukeboxes for 2024, TouchTunes announced on Tuesday (Dec. 10).

“A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which was released in April, was an immediate hit on the company’s jukeboxes, allowing it to reign as the most-played song of the year despite not being available for the first quarter of the year. In July, Billboard began partnering with TouchTunes to present a pair of quarterly charts – the Frontline and Catalog rankings – and Shaboozey’s tune has ranked at No. 1 on the Frontline survey for both iterations so far.

According to TouchTunes, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is the first Frontline song (defined as music released in the past 18 months) to be its most-played year-end music on its jukeboxes since Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey,” which was released in 2015.

(Naturally, Stapleton’s rendition of “Tennessee Whiskey” remains a perennial favorite; it’s the second-most-played song on TouchTunes for the year.)

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 between July and November, tying the song with Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, for the longest reign on the tally in its history.

Shaboozey was also the 10th-most-played artist on TouchTunes in 2024. The distinction of No. 1 goes to Morgan Wallen, whose music dots the collection of most-played songs on TouchTunes for the year. Along with being featured on Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” the No. 5 song of the year, his own “Last Night” is No. 8, and he’s featured on six of the top 50 most-played songs of the year in all. “I Had Some Help,” “Last Night” and his “Cowgirls,” featuring ERNEST, are also Nos. 3-5 for the most-played songs in the Frontline category of the year.

The No. 2 in the Frontline category also happens to be the only non-country song in the top 10 of the overall ranking: Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” which ends the year as the third-most-played song overall. The pop track topped the Hot 100 for a week in March and boasts a monstrous 45 weeks in the top 10, second-most all time behind The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.”

One must scroll to No. 11 to find the most-played rock song of the year, Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls.” Even still, the rock genre remains the most-consumed genre on TouchTunes, with the company reporting that 38% of its plays were rock songs in 2024. Country music follows with 24%. Comparatively, rock had 39% in 2023, while country had 23%. Other genres that saw gains year over year include hip-hop (up 2% to 14%) and pop (up 1% to 11%).

The entire top nine of the year was performed by soloists; the first duo or group to appear comes in at No. 10 via Brooks and Dunn’s “Neon Moon.” AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck,” which ranks at No. 31, is the highest-performing song of the year for the veteran rockers, who rank as TouchTunes’ most-played band of the year.

Taylor Swift ends the year as the most-played solo woman on the platform, with the top song from a woman being “Save Me,” Lainey Wilson’s duet with Jelly Roll.

Kaskade to Open New Jacksonville, Fla., Venue Decca Live

Kaskade is set to open Decca Live, a new 1,000-capacity venue located at 323 E Bay Street in downtown Jacksonville, Fla., that organizers say will create a cutting-edge, immersive experience for fans of both underground and mainstream music acts.

Launched by longtime Jacksonville promoter Eric Fuller of BLNK CNVS, the new venue features a steel megastructure as the main stage, a 360-degree mezzanine wrapping around the dance floor and a rooftop bar with stunning views of the St. Johns River and Jacksonville skyline. The architectural design was led by JAA Architecture, with interior design by Moyano Productions and production and stage design by Collyns Design Inc.

Decca Live is spread over three floors, including a second-floor mezzanine level and a rooftop level with its own bar, entrances and exits.

“We can open the rooftop bar through the venue or we can separate the space where the ground floor and the mezzanine are focused on concerts and the rooftop maintains a cocktail, loungy vibe where fans can go upstairs get some peace and quiet if they want to,” says Fuller.

Kaskade will perform the first public concert at Decca Live on Jan. 31, 2025. Fuller built the venue from the ground up and sees it as a major cultural hub and economic milestone for the Northern Florida city, filling a long-standing void in the city’s music scene.

“We’re going to book a little bit of everything — EDM, rock and even country music. We want it to be a room for everyone,” Fuller said. “The idea is to be an open room and serve as a beacon in the state where the room is always available to talented promoters.”

Through BLNK CNVS, Fuller already serves as the largest independent promoter of Miami Music Week, hosting more than 35 events with more than 40,000 tickets sold last year. His partners in Decca Live include Jacksonville native Shawn Rouf and Evan Rajta. While BLNK CNVS will handle much of the in-house buying, Decca Live is an open building available to all promoters. Ticketing will be handled by Eventbrite.

“Jacksonville as a city is at a tipping point,” says Rajta in a statement to Billboard. “The city is starving for new ideas and entertainment and that is exactly what we are creating with Decca Live. Our goal is simple: build a world class venue that will be here for decades to come.”

Fuller is a graduate of Jacksonville’s University of North Florida and formerly served as COO at companies including Life In Color, Advanced Concert Productions, Club Space Miami and Celine Orlando.

“Florida is a great state for touring and this room sounds incredible,” says Fuller. “We’ve put everything we have into this project and we’re excited to now share it with the rest of the world.”

Jack White Shares Sweet Birthday Post for ‘Great’ Meg White: ‘Love You So Much’

Meg White turned 50 years old on Wednesday (Dec. 10), and to celebrate, her former husband and White Stripes bandmate Jack White took to Instagram to pay tribute to the drummer.

“HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY to my big sister, the great Meg White. There’s only one of you Meggo, they broke the mold. You’re still inspiring people, including me. Love you so much,” he wrote alongside a Polaroid-style photo of Meg, in which she stands in front of a red wall wearing a black-and-white leopard print top — matching the White Stripes’ black, white and red color motif.

Jack and Meg formed the White Stripes in 1997, and released six studio albums before they disbanded in 2011. While the duo initially portrayed themselves as siblings to the public, but in 2001, evidence of their 1996 marriage and 2000 divorce emerged. Over the course of their time together, they notched a number of hits including “Seven Nation Army,” which was featured on their fourth studio album, 2003’s Elephant. The track topped Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart and was nominated for the best rock performance by a duo or group with vocal at the Grammy Awards, and has gone on to become a sports anthem due to its instantly-recognizable opening riff.

Icky Thump, their sixth and final studio album, won best alternative music album and the title track took home the award for best rock performance by a duo or group with vocals at the 50th annual Grammys.

Throughout the years, Jack has remained supportive of Meg, and in March 2023, he posted a response (in the form of a poem) defending his ex-wife after political journalist Lachlan Markay wrote in a since-deleted tweet that “the tragedy of the White Stripes is how great they would’ve been with a half decent drummer… I’m sorry Meg White was terrible and no band is better for having a sh—y drummer.”
