A Colombian high court has ruled a song by Karol G, J Balvin, Maluma, Feid and more violated the rights of children. We have the story. There’s been a negative response to the song “+57” by a group of Latin superstars, and The Associated Press reports a court in Colombia is saying the song’s lyrics “sexualized” minors. They’ve ordered the reggaetón stars to refrain from publishing music that violates the rights of children and teenagers, stating: “Sexualizing minors reduces them to becoming objects of desire and exposes them to risks that can affect their development.” Back on Nov. 11, 2024, Karol G gave a lengthy response to the criticism and apologized, saying, “I still have a lot to learn.” A couple of days later, the lyrics were changed in the music video, altering the phrase “a hot mama since she was 14” to “a hot mama since she was 18.” AP also reports that as a main tourist destination, the “+57” city has struggled to protect minors from sexual predators who visit the city in search of young women.
