Post Malone and Shane Gillis Bring the Party to Your House in Preview of Bud Light Superbowl LIX ‘Knock Knock’ Ad

If Post Malone pulls it off, “c’mon!” could be the next “whazzup?!” The rapper-turned-country-star appears alongside comedian Shane Gillis in a preview of the pair’s Super Bowl LIX ad for Bud Light that dropped on Thursday (Jan. 23).

The 23-second teaser titled “KNOCK, KNOCK… IT’S” is super low-key, with Malone and Gillis walking up to a suburban porch with a case of Bud Light in hand and ringing a doorbell in an effort to join the party. Viewed through a Ring doorbell cam, we see the pair ding-dong and wait for someone to open the door, shifting anxiously foot-to-foot as Gillis wonders, “is this it?,” and a smiling Malone leans in to say “hello!”

After some time waiting, the camera cuts to the men standing back-to-back, with Malone facing the camera to bark “c’mon!,” and Gillis adding, “let us in!” Posty seconds that request and soon enough both men have cracked open a cold one as they trade “c’mon”‘s.

Then, Gillis’ phone blows up revealing that the party is actually in the backyard. The last shot is of Malone and Gillis — both wearing dorky, knee-length dorky dad shorts, golf shirts and white tube socks with sneakers — making their way to the rear as the “I Had Some Help” cross-over country star jumps up to click his heels in excitement.

The spot will be Posty’s fourth go-round shilling for Bud Light at the Super Bowl and Gillis’ SB ad debut for the NFL’s official beer sponsor. Malone will be busy in the lead-up to the big game on Feb. 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with a gig as the headliner of the Bud Light Super Bowl LIX takeover concert “Bud Light Backyard Presents Post Malone” at the Fillmore on Feb. 7.

Associated AB InBev brand Stella Artois also teased another ad, this one starring David Beckham. In it, the soccer legend enjoys a cold one in a bar with his parents while finding out that he has a secret twin they refer to as “other David,” whose face we don’t see in the preview.
