Billie Eilish Announces In-Person & Remote Movie Theater Listening Parties for New Album

Written by on May 7, 2024

Billie Eilish has something special planned for fans counting down the seconds until her third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft arrives May 17.

To couple with her recently announced listening parties scheduled for May 15 and 16 in New York City and Los Angeles, the singer revealed Tuesday (May 7) that fans who weren’t able to score a ticket to the in-person events can still get the full experience with HIT ME HARD AND SOFT – A Listening Event Presented by Apple Music, which is coming to Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres locations across North America on May 16 and 17. According to a release, the event will give listeners “the chance to be one of the first to hear the new album with a visual accompaniment.”

“[Something] special for those of u who can’t make it to la or ny,” Eilish wrote on Instagram Stories, sharing a poster for the visual project.

Tickets for the film’s two-day run cost $5 each and are available for purchase online. A portion of the proceeds will go to AMC Cares Charitable Fund, which disperses financial aid to qualified nonprofit organizations.

The news comes one day after Eilish told followers via social media that she’d be coming to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and LA’s Kia Forum for a pair of bicoastal first-look Hit Me Hard and Soft listening parties on the 15th and 16th, respectively. Fans were able to request up to two free tickets each on Ticketmaster once the announcement went live; the portal is still accessible, although Rolling Stone reports that the in-person shows are sold out.

Described by the two-time Oscar winner as a return to form — à la her debut record When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?Hit Me Hard and Soft features 10 tracks. The AMC and in-person listening events will mark the public’s first time hearing any of the songs on the record, as Eilish previously explained that she won’t be releasing any singles ahead of the project’s arrival.

Last week, the “Bad Guy” musician unveiled dates for her upcoming world tour, which kicks off Sept. 29 in Quebec and will take the singer across North America through late December.
