Sueños 2023 is a wrap.
The second day of the music festival delivered its own set of show-stopping performances in a stacked lineup that included Grupo Firme, Becky G, Nicky Jam, Myke Towers and Eladio Carrión, to name a few.
Sunday (May 28) was more varied in terms of genres. While the first day was exclusively all urbano artists, the final day featured regional Mexican acts such as Junior H and Grupo Firme.
Firme was in charge of closing day two and Sueños’ second edition, and, in their signature style, they partied hard in Chicago following their sold-out show in Los Angeles at the SoFi Stadium where more than 65,000 people gathered to see the Mexican band perform their 360-style show.
Additionally, Becky G and Eladio Carrion made their Sueños debut just months after performing for the first time at Coachella. And they both brought the desert energy to the Windy City. Wearing a green, red and white Gucci set and a matching Chicago Bulls hat, Carrión sang from “Coco Chanel” to “Mbappe.” Meanwhile, Becky G serenaded a sea of fans with her hits including “Shower” and “MAMIII.”
The second day followed a strong start to Sueños 2023 on Saturday (May 27) with performances by Wisin & Yandel, Feid, El Alfa and Ivy Queen. Best moments in day one included an all-green takeover for Feid, with fans wearing green from head to toe in support of the Colombian hitmaker. He also joined Wisin & Yandel for an epic performance of “Yandel 150.”

Puerto Rican emerging artist Young Miko opened day two of Sueños with a fiery set that she clearly didn’t want to end. “I can’t leave the stage because I haven’t finished yet,” she feeling the pressure after going a bit over time but, after all, she did start a few minutes later. Towards the end of her set — where she performed “Lisa,” “Classy 101” and “Salvaje,” to name a few — she waved the pride flag as one of the strongest queer voices in the Latin rap scene.
Mexican singer Junior H almost didn’t make Sueños, he confessed at the beginning of his set. “We almost lost our flight but we did it and we’re happy to be here.” He dedicated his performance to the Latinos who “somos los que la rifamos en Estados Unidos,” which loosely translates to, “we’re the hardest working in the U.S.” Clearly proud of his regional Mexican roots, the corridos tumbados/sad sierreño singer came with a banda in tow that helped him perform his corridos, and it drew a significant crowd even in the middle of the day. One of the best performances of the day, Junior H received his flowers, literally. As he was leaving, he was given bouquets of roses and other gifts from his fanbase.
Becky G got emotional during her set at Sueños after the crowd started chanting “Becky, Becky, Becky!” “I just know today would hit different,” she said teary-eyed. The Mexican-American artist kicked it off with her hit single “Mayores” and then went on to perform back-to-back hits such as as “Fulanito,” “Cuando Te Besé,” “Bailé Con Mi Ex,” “Sin Pijama” and “MAMIII.” She also sang her regional Mexican tracks “Ya Acabó” and “Chanel,” for which she had a special message from Peso Pluma. “Sadly, I couldn’t be there today,” Pluma said in a voice message Becky played for the crowd before she performed their collab. “I would not be where I am without you guys,” Becky said toward the end of her show. “Here’s to those who felt like they never belonged. Those who were told that their dreams were too big. My last song, I want to dedicate to my younger self and to all the dreamers out there.” She closed her high-energy set with her early hit, “Shower.”
Myke Towers didn’t just go to Sueños to deliver an epic set, he also went to inspire the next generation of artists. In the middle of his performance, he stopped to give aspiring singers a message. “To all the kids out there that want to be in my shoes, it isn’t easy to walk in them but keep dreaming. I was once in your shoes.” Towers — who performed tracks like “Bandido,” “La Curiosidad” and “Girl” — then brought out a pair of Air Jordan 1s, which he signed and gave them to a fan that was in the crowd.
Only Grupo Firme can have a massive show one day in Los Angeles and travel the next day to close out a festival in Chicago. In front of more than 50,000 people, Grupo Firme took the Sueños stage and showcased Mexican pride from beginning to end singing norteño and banda anthems such as “Ya Supérame,” “Qué Onda Perdida,” “El Tóxico,” “Se Fue La Pantera,” “Yo Ya No Vuelvo Contigo” and “En Tu Perra Vida.”
Taking shots and chugging a handful of mixed drinks while performing, Grupo Firme was the best ending to the music festival with fans singing and dancing along with brothers Eduin and Jhonny Caz. Although their set couldn’t have gone any better, Eduin — the band’s lead singer — did say that it was bittersweet for them. “Just yesterday, we broke records at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles with more than 68,000 people in attendance. But yesterday we also got word that my grandmother passed away. I’m sad but honored to be here still. This show is in honor of my Mamá Tomasa who is in heaven now.”
