Zendaya & Tom Holland Are Engaged | Billboard News

Zendaya wore a sparkly new ring at last night’s Golden Globes, and this led to rumors of her engagement to Tom Holland. Keep watching for the full story!

Tetris Kelly:

Zendaya was showing off a different type of Golden Globe last night… as we have found out that she and Tom Holland are engaged. People magazine confirmed that the 28-year-old actors are preparing to tie the knot after Holland reportedly proposed at one of Zendaya’s family homes over the holidays. The Spiderman costars have spent years keeping their relationship under the radar, but Zendaya sparked the rumors at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards rocking some fresh bling. People reported that the ring appeared to be a 5.02-carat east-west cushion diamond button back ring by Jessica McCormack. Though neither Holland nor Zendaya have confirmed the reported engagement at press time — Billboard has reached out to both actors’ reps for comment.

Watch Mau y Ricky Play ‘Finish the Lyrics’ | Finish the Lyrics | Billboard

Mau y Ricky go through their music catalog and finish the lyrics to their hits including “Ya No Tiene Novio,” “Mal Acostumbrado” and more!

Mau:

Hi Billboard, how are you? It’s Mau y Ricky.

Ricky:

And we will be ‘Finishing the Lyrics’ of our songs. Let’s see if we know our own lyrics.

Mau y Ricky:

So that all your friends/ And my friends.

Ricky:

Or my buddies

Mau:

Don’t see me cry.

Ricky:

Great job Mau.

Baby stop for a second.

Mau:

No!

My heart’s breaking/ And I’m already spoiled.

Ricky, almost.

Ricky:

Almost, thank you.

Mau:

That’s why there are two of us, so that my brother can rescue me.

You would be buying bread in another store/ It’s none of my business/ What you do on the street/ I like them bad/ Or I like them better/ If you don’t love me.

Which actually says: I like them better if you don’t love me. I like it better if you don’t love me. But I now say live: I like them bad/ If you don’t love me.

This was true, I changed it after the years.

Mau y Ricky:

I have a couple of friends for breakfast/ I haven’t gone out at night anymore/ I know I didn’t before/ I am enjoying not having to give notice/ Where was your vase?/ Now I put pipe on the floor of the ganja/ There it gets cold.

The big night of TV and film had its share of music moments. Nine Inch Nails musicians Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won best original score for ‘Challengers.’

Atticus Ross:

It’s incredibly rewarding to see that the music had that much of an impact on people that they started making their own stories with it.

Tetris Kelly:

And what else could you call ‘Wicked’ but a cinematic and box office achievement?

Jon M. Chu:

In a time where pessimism and cynicism sort of rule the planet right now, we can still make art that is a radical act of optimism.

Tetris Kelly:

But the musical of the night was ‘Emilia Perez.’ Zoe Saldaña won for best supporting actress.

Zoe Saldaña

My heart is full of gratitude. Thank you so much to the Golden Globes for celebrating our film and honoring the women of  ‘Emilia Perez.’ Thank you so much.

Tetris Kelly:

And the film won best motion picture – musical or comedy.

Karla Sofía Gascón

The light always wins above darkness.

Tetris Kelly:

What an amazing show, I guess you can say I had a golden night. For everything you missed, head over to Billboard.com.

Vybz Kartel: The Dancehall King’s Comeback | Billboard Cover

After being released from prison after 13 years, Vybz Kartel, the king of Dancehall, is ready to reclaim his throne. The Billboard cover star takes us through a day in his life in Kingston, Jamaica, where he shares his experience of creating “Fever” in jail, how he intends to get his music cleared for streaming, his personal evolution, his thoughts on newer artists in the genre, and more!

Keep watching to see how he plans on dominating the music industry again!

Vybz Kartel:

You can’t even feel sorry for yourself like I didn’t have time to do that. I had kids to feed. I had family to take care of. I had my health issues. I was sitting in this position, you know, with the legs crossed in my cell. I was listening to the radio. He was like, “Yo, I think this is it.” This is Vybz Kartel. I’m here with Billboard. Come spend the day with me.

Kyle Denis:

Do you feel like the scene kind of stalled when you went away?

Yes, but it also opened up a portal for the new artists. I mean, it took a minute because Vybz Kartel’s presence is so powerful, maybe like 20 between 2016 then new artists started coming out one by one, and then the floodgates opened, like around 2020, but yeah, it took a while. So yes.

I heard you, you know, recorded one of your biggest songs in the past decade while you were away, “Fever.”

I’ve been recording, but initially I figured out how to record using an iPod, the little, small, flat ones. You know, the original rectangular ones. But a lot of time the sound was metallic because the cell didn’t have the padding like what a studio has to kill the sound, so it bounced all over the place. Then I figured out that I could use my mattress as a sponge over my head. That’s when the music started getting clearer.

Without a doubt, my biggest icon is Rihanna. Why is that? Well, I feel like she has shaped the way we express ourselves through clothing, through makeup, through the hair of an entire generation. Well look, I would say … to inspire me like that, like Beyoncé, J. Lo. Like they always get the right grove to feel sexy.

I open the bottle of champagne. I always open a bottle of champagne and toast with my team.
